Let us visit the long dead. Let us travel beneath the bustling streets where they dwell. We believe the 16th-century Capuchin Monks had the right idea! Don't bury your dead and forget them. Place them in tunnels and dress them up in their best duds, then invite everyone to visit them, forever! Tonight, we return to our stomping grounds: a beautifully dreary catacomb with 8,000 dead to gaze upon. One... is rumored to open and close her eyes. Join us below!Special Thanks to Sounds Like an Earful Music Supply for the amazing music AND sound design.
Curses! Well, cursed belongings is our topic in The Reading Room tonight! A pretty silver vase that killed the bride it was gifted to. An ancient female figurine that's rumored to have been deadly since forever...and some bedazzlingly dangerous jewels, The Dubious Delhi Purple Sapphire and The Hopeless Hope Diamond. Please find your favorite, totally not cursed spot!

We have for you this evening a deluge of divine underwater divas! Mermaids are some of folklore and fantasy's most magical creatures, and for centuries, artists have been obsessed with bringing them to life on canvas. Our three, briny, beautiful paintings are: Ulysses and the Sirens, by Herbert James Draper. Sadko in the Underwater Kingdom, by Ilya Repin. And Contemplation or Promise, by Victor Nizovtsev. Don't forget your snorkel!

Thank you so much for volunteering to help Mr. Hemlock with the necessary gardening chores, Dear Guest! We were amazed at the lightning speed with which you raced to scribble your name on the sign-up sheet! Why, you seemed almost to be in a fever-dream as you drove your pen into the paper with madness, then you wandered away giggling and mumbling to yourself. In any case, we appreciate your overt willingness to lend a hand. And we certainly won't forget your efforts. We doubt that you will forget, either...

Calling all ghouls! If you are a fan of all things grim and ghastly, tonight's reading is for YOU! This is the story of Carl Tanzler, "Count von Cosel," who fell so deeply in love with a young woman he saw in his visions, that he wouldn't let the fact that she was dead stand in the way of their romance. Obsession, tragedy, grave-robbing, secrecy, necromancy, and discovery—tonight's reading has it all. Join us! (Sponsored by The League of Lady Gravediggers)

Greetings, Dear Guests! We have for you this fine evening the opportunity to get to know some...unusual ladies. Okay. Hags. We'd like you to meet and take into your mushy, human heart a variety of horrific hags! We believe you'll find these unique women are often just misunderstood and have been mislabeled by a close-minded society. We also believe you'll find them to be mysterious, unpredictable...and hungry. From Ancient Greece to modern times, hags have been in the very midsts of mankind, and we suggest you warm up to them! Welcome...

Our reading this evening is issued with a rare "Heartbreak Warning" It tells the story of how one young man's obsession influenced the governing of his country, and gave unchecked power to the courts who worked in partnership with the church in order to ruin the lives of countless innocent people, primarily women, by first accusing them of witchcraft, then capturing and torturing them- and then ultimately murdering them. The story is true and the victims deserve our attention, our respect, and an effort to prevent this and similar actions from ever happening again. The story contains the brutal facts about the torture that was inflicted upon those who suffered. May they rest in peace.

Walk this way, Dear Guests- Tonight's engrossing tale is the key to the history of graves and the silent language of tombstone symbols. The dead have much to teach us about being buried for thousands of years, and what we choose to engrave on their headstones, speaks volumes to those who know how to interpret these "silent as the grave" images. Grab a few tombstone cookies off The Hospitality Tray and make yourself at home! Welcome to The Midnight Library.

Please find yourself the most comforting spot in The Reading Room this evening, My Dear Guest, and cuddle up warm with a wolf pup as we hear the forlorn tale of those who endured troubled times and terrible journeys onboard the dreaded "coffin ships"-- as well as those who sadly, did not survive. The people in this reading will be given the utmost respect. The accounts are true, and the reading carries a "heartbreak" warning due to its intense sadness and few graphic facts.
There are, however, excellent examples of human beings as role models, both horrific and nearly perfect. It's likely to be one of the only more serious readings we shall ever have. I thank you for attending. Yours Very Sincerely with Love, Miranda Merrick
