This week, I’m wrapping up our series on The Art of Preaching by talking about something that’s so close to my heart: sustainable preaching. After almost 30 years of ministry, I’ve learned that it’s not just about having a great message—it’s about protecting the rhythm of your life so you can last for the long haul. In this episode, I share practical ways to guard your energy, keep your connection with the Holy Spirit fresh, and even raise up others to carry the message with you. If you’ve ever felt the weight of burnout or wondered how to keep preaching with passion decade after decade, this conversation is for you!!

This week on the podcast, I’m diving into what it really looks like to preach like it matters. After decades of communicating, I’ve realized how easy it is to fall into patterns and lose that sense of urgency and purpose. But when I sat with a pastor in Brazil who said, “I preach every message like it’s my last,” it stirred something in me. In this episode, I’m sharing the practical ways we can bring clarity, structure, and conviction to our messages so they actually transform lives—not just inspire in the moment. If you’ve been preaching for a while or are looking for fresh fire in your communication, this one’s for you.

On this episode, I’m talking all about what it looks like to preach without fear. If you’ve ever found yourself holding back because you’re worried about what people might think, or editing your message to make it safer, you’re not alone—I’ve been there too. But the truth is, fear dulls our words and keeps us from carrying the authority God has given us. In this episode, I share my own journey of learning that boldness isn’t about volume or personality—it’s about obedience. My hope is that as you listen, you’ll feel both challenged and encouraged to bring your whole heart to the pulpit and trust God with the rest.Check out Havilah’s Preacher School - https://havilahspreacherschool.com/Learn more and connect with Havilah: + Havilah's Site: http://havilahcunnington.com + Truth to Table: http://truthtotable.com + Truth Academy: https://thetruthacademy.com/

This week on the podcast, I’m diving into something that’s been on my heart for all of us who have been preaching for a while—how to find our unique voice again. After 30 years of speaking, I’ve learned that it’s so easy to slip into mimicking others, chasing applause, or just running on autopilot. But borrowed voices don’t carry breakthrough—only authenticity does. In this episode, I’m sharing my own journey of uncovering the voice God gave me, the importance of preaching from identity instead of insecurity, and some practical ways to reconnect to the call that first set us on this path. If you’ve been in the trenches of preaching week after week, this one’s for you.Check out Havilah’s Preacher School - https://havilahspreacherschool.com/Learn more and connect with Havilah: + Havilah's Site: http://havilahcunnington.com + Truth to Table: http://truthtotable.com + Truth Academy: https://thetruthacademy.com/

This week, I’m wrapping up our very first season of The Art of Preaching by talking about what it really means to stay in this for the long haul. We live in a culture that loves viral moments and big stages, but God’s call isn’t about one-hit wonders—it’s about faithfulness over decades. In this episode, I share my own journey of preaching in living rooms, group homes, and small youth groups long before stepping onto larger platforms, and how mileage, stewardship, and rhythm have shaped me as a communicator. If you feel called to preach, I want to remind you that success isn’t about the size of the crowd, but about showing up again and again, building a life that carries the Word with integrity and longevity.Learn more and connect with Havilah: + Havilah's Site: http://havilahcunnington.com + Truth to Table: http://truthtotable.com + Truth Academy: https://thetruthacademy.com/

In this episode of The Art of Preaching, I’m diving into something every communicator faces but few talk about—what if I bomb? What happens when the mic doesn’t work, the slides are wrong, the room is dead silent, or worse—when you just totally miss it? I’ve had those moments (more than once!), and I’m sharing one of my most humiliating fails and what God taught me through it. We’ll talk about redefining success, the invisible fruit of obedience, and why bombing isn’t the end—it’s part of your formation. I’ll also walk you through a simple activation to turn your fears into faith statements, because failure doesn’t get the final say—God does.

In today’s episode, we’re talking all about what it means to preach like a human. If you’ve ever felt like you need to sound like someone else to be effective—this is for you. I’m sharing how comparison and mimicry can steal your confidence, and why your quirks, your tone, your pace—your actual personality—are not obstacles, but part of your pulpit. God didn’t call the polished version of you; He called you. We’ll break down why authority flows through authenticity, and I’ll even give you a two-minute challenge to help you start finding your voice today. Let’s ditch the pressure and get real.

Whether you’ve never picked up a mic or you’ve been preaching for years, this episode is for anyone who’s ever whispered, “I think I’m called… but now what?” We’ll talk about starting small, practicing in secret, and trusting that God equips what He initiates. This week, we’re talking about hitting a relational wall—you know, when you love the people in your life but also kind of can’t stand being around them? Yep, that one. It’s one of the hardest walls to face because we’re only half of the equation, and it can feel messy, exhausting, and honestly, pretty lonely. In this episode, I open up about how I’ve navigated relational shutdown, what Proverbs says about gentle answers (and why gentleness isn’t weakness), and the tools I use to move toward connection without losing myself. I’ll show you how to write the message you won’t regret, ask better questions that invite instead of accuse, and set boundaries that protect without punishing.

If your body is waving the white flag, this is your reminder that it’s not betraying you—it’s begging you to listen. In this episode, I offer simple, real-life strategies to start restoring your health with intention, not guilt. Ask yourself: What’s one thing my body is trying to tell me today? And what’s one habit I can stop or start that will honor my physical health? Let’s build rhythms that let us thrive, not just survive.Get I Do Hard Things: https://a.co/d/cWL9Q8K

This week, we’re talking about hitting a mental wall—when your brain feels like it has 67 tabs open and half of them are buffering. You’re doing the things: sleeping, hydrating, showing up... and still, you're exhausted, foggy, and stuck in thought loops that won’t quit. I’ve been there too. In this episode, I share real strategies that help me when my brain taps out, from interrupting the spiral to brain-dumping everything on a piece of paper (yes, everything). We’ll unpack why your brain isn’t broken—it’s just overloaded—and how to reset, refill, and reframe. Ask yourself: What’s one thought loop I need to break this week? And what’s one small action I can take to reset my mental state? This week, I’m kicking off a brand new series all about hitting the invisible walls in our lives—you know, the ones that show up out of nowhere and leave us stuck, exhausted, and wondering what just happened. I had a whole different plan for this month, but I hit one of those walls myself and knew we needed to talk about it. Whether it’s mental, spiritual, physical, or even environmental, these walls can sneak up on us and take us out if we don’t pause and pay attention. In this episode, I walk you through how I’ve learned to name the wall, ask what it’s trying to protect me from, and remind myself that it’s not a dead end—it’s a doorway. So take a breath, friend. You’ve done nothing wrong. The wall is real, but so are you.

This week, I’m talking about what it feels like to think you’ve missed your moment—like maybe God handed your calling to someone with a prettier feed or better timing. If you’ve ever found yourself scrolling and spiraling, thinking “I should be further along by now,” you are not alone. I’ve been there. I share a personal story about a big opportunity I turned down, how it looked like I got left behind, and the truth God showed me about His timing. You are not behind—you are becoming. So let me ask you: What if God’s delay is actually divine? What’s being built in you right now that couldn’t be built in the fast

This week, I’m talking about something we don’t often say out loud—what happens when burnout starts to look spiritual? You know that moment where you’re still called, still committed, but your capacity feels like it got hit by a truck? Yep, we’re going there. I open up about my own experiences with soul fatigue, what Scripture really says about growing weary in well-doing, and how to recognize the signs before you hit that breaking point. I also share three questions that have helped me check in with myself: Am I running from something or running toward something? What’s fueling me—obligation or overflow? Am I resting to recover or scrolling to escape? Let’s be honest, let’s be kind to ourselves, and let’s talk about how we keep showing up when quitting sounds like relief.Author School Guidebooks: havilahsauthorschool.com/guidebooks

Waiting on God can feel like watching water boil—slow, frustrating, and honestly, a little painful. In this episode, I get super real about what it’s like to be in a waiting season and the lies we start to believe when things don’t move fast enough. I share how God used my single years and silent seasons to build something in me that couldn’t be rushed. So if you’ve ever thought, “If God loved me, He’d answer,” or “Everyone else is moving forward but me,” or even, “Nothing is happening,” this one’s for you. In this episode, I open up about what it feels like when God goes silent—and how that silence can shake our faith to the core. If you've ever felt like your prayers are hitting the ceiling or like you're on “read” with heaven, you’re not alone. I talk about how silence doesn’t mean absence, and how divine delays are often God’s strategy to develop us in hidden places. I also share some honest reflections, practical tools for getting through the silence, and three questions to help you get real about where you’re at: - Am I exhausted or spiritually malnourished? - Am I praying or performing? - Am I showing up to be seen or to stay aligned?

Hey friends, it’s Havilah here! We’re kicking off a brand new series that dives deep into the unseen struggles of each of the Prophetic Personalities. This week, we’re focusing on “feelers” — those of us who connect with God through emotions and have a special sensitivity to His heart. I’ll be unpacking some common misunderstandings about feelers, and sharing why being in touch with your emotions is actually a powerful gift, not a weakness! If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by your emotions or struggled to understand them, this episode is for you. Let’s get into it!

In today’s episode, we're diving into a big question: "Who's really in the driver's seat of your life?" We talk about the importance of stepping into a place of empowerment and hearing God’s voice clearly, instead of just coasting along in the passenger seat. I share some insights on what it means to live by the Spirit and take intentional steps to walk in sync with God, rather than just waiting for life to happen to us. Whether you've been feeling a bit stuck or you're ready to move forward with purpose, this conversation is all about reclaiming your spiritual autonomy and learning how to journey with God in a meaningful, active way. What happens when we don't hear from Him? We explore some serious risks, like losing direction and purpose, falling into deception, and spiritual drift. I even share the story of David, who, despite being anointed and having incredible victories, still found himself hiding from God. If you're feeling lost or disconnected, this episode is for you. In this episode, we dive into the heart of staying connected with God when life starts to feel like you’re just going through the motions. I totally get that feeling of knowing all the "right" things but missing that passion, that excitement for faith. Today, we’re breaking down the Lord’s Prayer, exploring how Jesus intended it to be a roadmap for a personal relationship, not just something to memorize. From calling God "Father" to asking for our daily bread, this prayer shows us how to tune in and listen to God's voice in a way that’s fresh and real every day. This is the final episode of the series we've been chatting about this past month, Embracing the Good, Hard Life.

This series was inspired by the realization that life is usually both good and hard at the same time. For a long time, Havilah thought she needed her life to change so she can get from the hard stuff to the good stuff.

Today, Havilah is diving into mindset and why mindsets are important as we navigate life. She's sharing exactly what mindset it and the difference between a fixed and growth mindset. When we have a growth mindset, we realize we can continue to get better, be innovative, and solve problems. Having a growth mindset also allows us to view setbacks as temporary hurdles instead of things that take us out.

Let's talk about what a growth mindset looks like and how we can incorporate that into our lives!

This is great when it comes to survival, but it's not great when it comes to every day life. But, there's strength in focusing on the good and the victories we have. Let's celebrate today.

This whole month is about intentional behavior. We’re diving into how we build a life of intention and create behaviors that help us follow through on our intentions.

Today, Havilah is diving into how to actually get your to-do list done. She will be discussing the importance of breaking your list into a smaller list and why this works better than having 20 things written down to do. R

Researchers have suggested that we are more likely to get things done if the list only has about 3 things.

In this episode, Havilah is sharing practical steps to take in order to actually achieve more in the long run by taking smaller steps.

Last week, we began talking about intentional behaviors. There's a lot of power when we choose to know why we're going somewhere, and then we gain a lot of momentum to go where we want to go!

Today I want to share some things I’ve read and heard on this topic of being intentional with our why’s. They did this study and they begin to learn about this intrinsic motivation versus this extrinsic motivation.

Intrinsic, which is like an internal motivation or an extrinsic, which is an external motivation. And they started to look at the difference and how people adjusted to that in their life.

I hope you enjoy today’s episode and join me for the next ones!

This month we are diving into a message Havilah shared at Bethel on a Mother’s Day.

Here’s some of what she dives into: God knew that Mary's body would be a living sacrifice for him in the same way that his body would become a living sacrifice for us. So what happens when a woman walks in her full calling? She creates safe places in dangerous times, in a world that's full of conflict and danger and with things that can hurt us. A woman is spending her energy making sure that you are safe, that you have a safe place to land, and that you will be alive tomorrow.

This week we are diving into a message Havilah shared at Bethel on Mother’s Day.

Here’s some of what she dives into: Jesus was sent to Earth and he was sent to live in Mary before his feet ever touched the earth. Mary needed to only create a safe place for the Savior to be born and be developed. Mary was given a womb, and that womb would hold life. It would create life, and it would change the course of history. Some of us as women, we have forgotten that God didn't put us on the earth just to solve problems, but he's actually given us power to nurture. In fact, you as a woman, you are a nurturing powerhouse. You have an ability to contain and hold life and develop it until it is safe to be on the earth. Think about it; men and women are different. No matter what society says, men and women are different. We don't have to make conclusions about that. We can see simply just in our genetics, in our body, that there are differences that God created. Women are the only ones who create life. They're the only ones with wombs.

I noticed that reading books is great but I really grew when I joined classes and there was accountability there.

When I joined the Habit Lab earlier on this year, Jenna helped me by giving verbiage when I got stuck. There was permission we all got in this class knowing that we weren’t alone and there was a cycle and pattern we all personally had. I also realized we were going deep, and getting into our belief systems.

Today, we started a habit lab mastery course, The Habit Lab is a 10-week mentorship program to help create the right habits you need to finally live a life you love.

Join Jenna, and I this month as we talk all about how to implement really clear, simple but transformative habits in our daily routines. And the reason we’re talking about this is because I’ve had a transformation in my own life and you guys know me, I don’t share things that are just good ideas. I share things that make sense, that work and that I try and I often, want to tell you guys about those things.

So buckle up and join the journey into healthy habits.

We have a quiz we came up with to help you find out what area in your life is needing some healthy habits, it’s shame free, and easy to take. Check it out: https://truthtotable.com/habit-quiz/

Welcome back to another March Mindset series.

Your thoughts are a reflection of the identity that you carry. You want to change your identity, change your thoughts.

So, how do we begin to know that we are not doing well in our thoughts? What thoughts do we really want? What thoughts do we not want? We're going to talk about that today.

Here's what's important. The Bible's really clear that in James 1:8, it says, "A double minded man is unstable in all his ways." I love what the Amplified says, "a double minded man is unstable and restless in all his ways, in everything he thinks, feels and decides."

Are you dealing with a restlessness in what you're thinking about and what you're feeling and in your decisions? Then you're probably living double minded, and that means you want to live in two worlds at the same.

In this episode Havilah is going deep and talking about the thoughts that we are currently having, how have we entertained these thoughts, and how they are affecting our lives. After listening to this episode, you will feel powerful to take control of your thoughts and know the steps you need to take to do so.

Hope you join us all this month to dive into this topic and get practical steps. Have a great week and thanks so much for tuning in today!

As we continue to talk about renewing the mind, I was thinking of the Asbury revival that broke out on February 8th 2023 and went until the 24th. This revival broke out in Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky.

As I reflected on the concept of renewing the mind, I am reminded that everything happens for a reason. God has orchestrated a revival to take place in this generation, after the pandemic, in a place where people develop their intellect. He wants to emphasize that without the mind of Christ, knowledge, connections, and possessions are meaningless.

It's important to realize that before we came to Christ, our minds were not neutral but rather hostile towards God. Those who do not believe in God or live for Him are not just indifferent to the mind of Christ but actively oppose it, as the enemy does not want the thoughts of God to prevail in our world. A renewed mind aligns with the Spirit. Our thoughts act as filters and determinants, serving as our GPS on our journey of growth. Our thoughts ultimately dictate our destinations.
Hope you join us all this month to dive into this topic and get practical steps.

This month we are diving into the topic of what it means and looks like to transform our minds.

The spiritual battle we face is not external, but rather it is within ourselves; it’s in our minds. Ephesians 6:12 says: For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Our minds cannot remain neutral, and the enemy tries to prevent us from achieving freedom in our thoughts. Our minds often urge us to pursue self-gratification instead of serving God. However, this mindset is hostile to God and cannot submit to Him if it is not governed by Him.

To please God, we must renew our minds. One way to accomplish this is by taking our thoughts captive every day. What if we made this a daily spiritual practice?

Hope you join us all this month to dive into this topic and get practical steps.

Let’s take this month of March and really go through what it’s like to renew and transform our minds. The mind is where everything starts, and it's where our battles are won or lost.

Trying to change our behavior or actions without addressing the root cause, which is often our thoughts and beliefs, can be frustrating and exhausting. However, with intentional effort and the help of the Holy Spirit, we can transform our minds and experience lasting change.

Each of us are facing unique battles in our lives but we all face a common battle and that is in our minds! Renewing our minds means intentionally choosing to focus on thoughts that align with God's truth and rejecting thoughts that lead us away from it. It involves replacing negative self-talk, doubt, and fear with positive affirmations, hope, and faith.Remember that transforming our minds is a process, and it won't happen overnight. It takes time, effort, and consistency, but the results are worth it.

Hope you join us all this month to dive into this topic and get practical steps. Have a great week and thanks so much for tuning in today! Make sure to share this podcast with your friends and stay tuned for the rest of the purpose challenge!

Welcome back! Today's episode is from our 20 day video series called I Dream Big. We have chosen a few to share here on the podcast with you and this week's is the last one so make sure you go back and listen to the other episodes.

Today, we’re looking at the idea that dreams stewarded creates momentum in our lives. Encountering God will consistently build momentum in your life. Reaching a place of regularly meeting with the Holy Spirit changes you. It gives you movement toward His promise. Living in a relationship with Him will be your most valuable experience.

When you invest time to further encounters and honor those moments, you will gain history with Him.
This causes momentum. Momentum could be described as building movement in the same direction while simultaneously building speed and confidence.

Welcome back to our series called I Dream Big. Today, we’re going to look at another way to figure out the specific dream of God in your life: through covenant. Our culture tends to glamorize the dreamers and visionaries of the world: Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, Oprah… But the truth about dreaming is: The one who partners with the visionary is just as important.God places the people in our lives we are meant to run with. Oftentimes, God will give one person the dream or encounter, then bring other people in to help carry it out. It’s very important we stay connected to the dream and keep dreaming even when we’re not the visionary.

God will divinely orchestrate relationships to carry out His dreams on Earth. It doesn’t matter if you dreamed it or were the carrier, ultimately, relationships are important to God. They’re how He builds His kingdom and will continue to build it from here on. Welcome back! We're in a series called I Dream Big, and today we’re going to talk about how the dream is also connected to your gifts and talents.

Once you know what your gifts are, and the talents God gave you, it’s time for serious stewardship. Maybe you’ve heard the story in the Bible about the three men who were gifted talents. In this story, it wasn’t about being given the most talents, it was about what each man did with what they had. The men who walked away with more at the end were the men who didn’t bury their talents.

If you’re always waiting for the perfect time to be who God dreams you to be, you’ll never step out. Part of partnering with God is doing your part well and leaving God’s part to God. Everything you do is training.

Today, we’re going to look at another way God reveals His dreams for us that is often overlooked: through pain. God's glory will be revealed in your story of pain and triumph. It’s at the moment you believe God will use everything for those called according to His will that you will find deep abiding peace.

It’s important you roadmap your freedom. You need to take the time to understand your process and the road marks you’ve come to along the way. You will need them to help others. "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. -Jeremiah 29:11

Today is the final day of our Advent series.
This week is all about love, but we will quickly do a review to remember what we covered in the last 3 weeks. The wreath represents God's everlasting love for us, and his continual love for us. The candles each represent 1,000 years of waiting and anticipation. Advent is about waiting for Jesus to come and do what He said He would do. And we celebrate that but we also wait for the second coming of Christ. The first candle represents hope, the second candle represents peace, the third candle represents joy, and today we are talking about the last candle that is LOVE.

Today we are going to talk about the love of christmas, the gospel. God loved the world, He gave us His son, for no one need to be destroyed. We must remember that Christmas was not just about the coming of the son, but we must remember that there was a father that sent him for us, and the son was going to pay a big price but it was always for love.If you missed an episode go back and binge on it all! Merry Christmas to you!

Do you know what time it is? Our annual TTT Bible study that is LIVE NOW! Every year, we take 20,000-25,000 people through our free annual Bible study as our gift to you. In this 20-day study, Bible teacher Havilah Cunnington will come alongside you, build you up, and show you the pathway for chasing dreams with God. As we continue this series about Advent, this episode we talk about the encouragement of Him coming. We see in Luke 3 that everyone was in expectation of the messiah to come. John let's them know that there will be a Messiah coming soon.

The goal of advent is to have a deeper realization of Christmas. So that we can connect with God in a profound way instead of missing him in the busyness. This season can be a season full, busy, stressful and full of anxiety, but remember that this season is about remembering that Jesus was coming, and that He came, and is still with us!

In the busyness of this season, are we making room for Him?

When Mary and Joseph knocked on the inn keeper's door, and he said he didn't have room for them, I wonder if he knew who they were if he would make room for them? Maybe give up his own room. In this busy season, how are you ready for God to use you? How have you been aware of Him, for when He calls you, or for when He speaks, would you hear Him? The goal is not about where you will be used, it’s about being ready for service.

This whole month, join us as we talk about Advent, what it's about and how we can implement it to our Christmas celebrations. If you missed an episode go back and binge on it all!

In December we are focusing on sloooooowing down and savoring all the season holds. In this 4-part series, I speak and teach on Advent.

Advent is the joyful waiting and anticipation for what’s about to happen. It’s not a quiet, formal gathering. It’s the believers of Jesus Christ waiting with joyful hearts in expectation of Him finally arriving. We have to understand that Christmas represents God fulfilling his promise throughout the generations. That he came but that he is also coming again.

The past few weeks we have been going through the topic of living with intention. If you missed any, you can go back and listen to them! Also, here’s a little recap: The first week we talked about setting intention and what it looks like. Week two we covered understanding and setting our filters, and last week we talked about understanding our assumptions and identifying them.

Today, we are talking about setting your day up for intention, and how to set your day the night before. I love the quote “you are what you repeatedly do, excellence is not an act it’s a habit.” Every successful person has a habit or a routine they live in, so daily intentions and starting habits will help us be successful!

In this episode, we continue our talk on living with intention and today's specific topic is assumptions. Being aware of our assumptions can change our lives, and it will literally change your day! If I start my day off by assuming negative things For example, "Today will be a hard day because there's a lot to do," or "my husband is going to feel disconnected today," then throughout our day our brain will pick up confirmations to what we were assuming. We all have assumptions. Even if there are legitimate facts that go against your assumption, you will miss it because of the filter our brains create. So let's talk more about this and about confirmation bias and how you can live intentionally in your thoughts.

This week on the podcast, we’re chatting all about rejection, abandonment, and building confidence.

My dad’s story was one of abandonment, self-rejection, and a lack of confidence but once he found Christ, he was able to go after those things and find healing. I was raised in a home of love, connection, and safety but that generational thread that followed my dad through his life wanted nothing more than to knock on my door. I had the realization that the spirit of rejection and abandonment wanted to follow my story as well.

The narrative of self-rejection and abandonment can sound so familiar in our thoughts that it doesn’t even sound surprising to us. When we hear those negative narratives in our minds, we have a decision to make. We can either go into self-pity, or we can stay open to the people around us and realize God divinely orchestrates everything in our life. We have to learn how to reject self-abandonment in those moments.

Thanks so much for tuning in today! We have to break up with these narratives in our minds that keep us from living fully free!

Welcome to the FIRST Cunnington Catch Up of 2022 and it is a BIG one! I share about our new house and property (you heard that right!) and a special experience I had there just a few days ago. You know the ones - the touchstone experiences that you have no documentation of but the snapshots in your mind that you’ll carry with you because it marks such a significant moment in time.

The end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022 have been so humbling as I look at what God has done - all of the ‘almosts’ and ‘not yet - wait’ seasons that felt hard in the present, but I now know it was all leading to God’s ‘exceedingly, abundantly more’ than I could have ever hoped or imagined. I am living to see the fruition of all I prayed for and knew was supposed to happen - but wasn’t quite sure how it would come to be.

If you’re in a season of ‘hard’ and you’re not understanding what God is up to - you’ll want to hear this Cunnington Catchup as I am confident you will have a similar experience to mine, in your future.

This is the first of our FOCUS SERIES going the entire month of January to get us on solid footing in 2022. I hear from so many of you and the challenges, roadblocks and distractions that keep you from stepping fully into your purpose all boils down to FOCUS.

To kick off the series you’ll meet Shawn Blanc, long time friend of Ben and Havilah’s and focus+productivity coach with 20 years under his belt helping tens of thousands of people get clear and meet goals that previously eluded them.

In this conversation with Shawn and Havilah you’ll learn how focus is about having clarity about what really matters to you. Learn practical ways of how to fight back against the tyranny of the urgent. We all know how easy it is to get caught up in the moment of what is demanding your attention right ‘now’.

Learn how to schedule what matters - and how to follow through!

Shawn will outline what the 6 main areas of your life are and how to prioritize those. Take a deep breath and extend yourself some compassion: It’s impossible to give your attention to everything all the time. In the midst of hustle culture it’s easy to forget that amidst the noise.

As you head into 2022, realize that what got you here might not be what carries you any further. At the end of today’s episode you’ll be confident in knowing if what you’ve been doing is serving your goals moving forward and how to take action toward what is serving your goals!

THIS WEEK IS THE PINNACLE OF OUR SPIRITUAL GIFTS SERIES and the perfect way to close out 2021 and step into 2022 destined for greater things than you imagined. If you’ve found this podcast, you are meant to hear this. This is a divine appointment. You haven’t found this podcast by accident.

This week’s guest is Deborah Giles, a profound prophetic voice to many world leaders. Havilah and Deborah discuss spiritual gifts, living a spirit-led life and a prophetic gifting through the avenue of dreams.

Are you in a wilderness and wondering if God has simply brought you here to leave you? Growing your gifts might happen in a dark place where you’re simply keeping your head above water. God takes you to the place where you are done leading and you have to surrender and wait to see what God has for you. This is your sign: It’s time to shake off old concepts and mindsets of how you think God works.

Hear Deborah’s story where she did this and used her spiritual gifts to build her business and start over in the marketplace at 38 years old and turn her business into ministry. We are called to be spiritual in the atmosphere we are placed in - it’s not in silos - God wants to bring the supernatural to whatever you are doing in the natural. Living a spirit-led life happens in the midst of whatever God has placed in your hand! Ministry doesn’t happen in the 4 walls of the church, it happens when you steward the natural with God’s supernatural power of spiritual gifts!

This episode is so full of wisdom and gold you will fill pages if you’re a note taker. You can find Deborah on Instagram at @deborahgiles where you can see first-hand all that God is doing in and through her!

Francis Anfuso was an atheist before he had a radical encounter with the Lord during his conversion. When he started to consider ministering to others, he didn’t want to be disingenuous or inauthentic. He looked at the evangelists, preachers and church leaders at the time and he didn’t want to look like them or sound like them. He never loved labels, but rather, functions. How do you function? He wanted to function like Jesus. How did Jesus function while He was on the earth? Answer: A continuous dependence on God. Listen in as Havilah and her father talk about how activating your spiritual gifts is best done in low-stakes environments. It should be with friends, neighbors, family, not with a mic in your hand on a stage. Get ready to take notes this week because you will learn practical ways to operate in your spiritual gifting in your every day life as Francis and Havilah uncomplicate the topic of Spiritual Gifts.

This week we are kicking off the first episode of our Spiritual Gifts Series where Havilah will be discussing the 9 spiritual gifts, what they are and how God uses them and us to reach the world in tangible ways!

But let’s be honest: depending on your upbringing and experiences around spiritual gifts or moves of the Holy Spirit, you might have a preconceived notion of what is or is not biblical. People tend to fall into one of two camps: either really comfortable with gifts of the Spirit or really UNcomfortable or unsure. (Yes, that’s simplifying it!) This episode and Havilah’s new book will build a bridge between both worlds to bring us back to Jesus’ heart and mind on the topic of Spiritual Gifts.

Get your pens ready, because this week’s conversation is with Proverbs 31 Ministries’ Director of Theology and Research - Joel Mudamalle - where Havilah asks him to set a theological foundation for our journey into discovering and activating our Spiritual Gifts.

Remembrance is a sacred act. We wanted to throw it back and share with you one of Havilah’s first seasons’ episodes where she shares her journey from doing an online YouTube study with a max audience of 20 (counting her mother) and getting discouraging feedback. She shares the process of growing her audience in pace with the Lord’s leading and by making small but healthy steps forward.

Wherever you are right now in the call and purpose on your life, do not diminish it! Sowing tiny seeds still can grow into a full harvest if watered well and sown on fertile soil. Do not diminish your hope for the harvest by the size of the seed. As we take this moment to share this episode in the freshness of Havilah’s announcement of being the Women’s Pastor at Bethel Church, we thought it would be a good reminder that she started small. She was faithful with whatever God placed in her hands, she took initiative and kept stewarding well whatever opportunities she took hold of. Be encouraged as you listen to this episode and know that whatever it is you’re doing right now - will lead to even greater things in Jesus’ name!

This week in the final episode of the Marriage Is Series, Havilah chats with Clint Davis who talks about trauma within a marriage and what to do if there has been a betrayal or trauma within the marriage.

What do you do if your marriage is ‘broken’?

Covid has done a number on marriages. Pastors report seeing more divorces in the past year than they have in all of their cumulative years in ministry. Why? Clint explains that up until covid and the lockdowns we had maladaptive coping skills and were able to distract ourselves until we were all given no where else to turn but our homes. It either drove people closer or the wheels came off. Listen in as Havilah and Dr. Clint discuss how we try to put bandaids over bullet holes, how important community is for healthy feedback to know whether or not your situation is truly abusive, and how to heal from betrayal trauma.

Clint Davis is an Army Veteran who has a Bachelor's in Psychology from Louisiana Tech University and Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fuller Theological Seminary. He is an ordained minister and Licensed Professional Counselor trained in EMDR for trauma, Restoration Therapy for couples and families, a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and is also a certified sex addiction therapist (CSAT). Clint owns Clint Davis Counseling and Integrative Wellness where he has a team of Mental Health Professionals, Doctors, Chiropractors and Dietitians who help people recover from trauma to the mind, body, and spirit. He is also currently the Director of Recovery for The Hub: Urban Ministry that works to fight against poverty and human trafficking. He is married to his wife Jacie and has two sons Grady (6) and Jude (3).

Enjoy this message Havilah preached earlier this year at the She Conference. The Church is usually in one of two camps when it comes to spiritual warfare: the devil is everywhere or we ignore the devil. The war is already won, but we still have to know how to fight in the battles that come our way in life. Enjoy this profound teaching as Havilah breaks down how to fight a very real enemy who is coming to steal, kill and destroy the purpose and call on your life! You are meant to live the abundant life so you can know if you’re feeling mentally, emotionally or spiritually depleted it’s because your enemy is stealing from you. In today’s podcast with special guest Danny Silk, Havilah and Danny discuss how to set boundaries in a ministry setting. Listen in as they talk about common themes that are experienced in ministry like how no one has taught Christians to say no to one another or how to be unhappy with one another. It sounds funny, but it’s true. We have been taught that people pleasing is ‘Godly’ and having people upset with us means we did something wrong. But is that true? Find your answers to the questions of what is AND IS NOT healthy in ministry and how to set boundaries in a ministry setting.

How do you set Boundaries in your workspace and still work with integrity? Having boundaries in the workplace is the kindest thing you can do for your employers. When you figure out your YES’s - your core values - your NO’s will get really clear. Your boss doesn’t burn you out - YOU burn you out. You train your employers what access they have to you. That doesn’t make you a bad employee it makes you more reliable and trustworthy. Boundaries are FOR us, not AGAINST someone else. Showing up like a spiritual grownup means you set boundaries, which is showing up more obediently to God. We serve God and not man; a fear of man will likely result in boundary issues in the workplace. Being clear on the boundaries of your role and duties, your boss’s role and duties and what hours you will be able to work to produce with excellence and bring maximum value to your role and responsibilities is foundational. Then, sticking to it and not allowing guilt or shame to run the show is the key to maintaining boundaries in your work! What did you think of this episode? Let us know in our socials! Family of origins is tricky especially in the faith space There’s the verse: “Honor your father and mother in the Lord for this is right.” So how do we reconcile that and live with healthy boundaries and apply them to our family of origins? Isn’t it disrespectful to come up against your parent’s wishes and say ‘no’?

This week licensed therapist Dr. Alison Cook @alisoncookphd is on the show and shares about how honoring our parents isn’t about how they feel, but rather, about becoming the person God wants us to be. Dr. Cook and Havilah about how to set boundaries in the relationships in life that tend to be the relationships that are the most sticky: family. Nothing is off-limits, we talk about relationships with mothers, in-laws, children, what does actual toxicity in a relationship look like? We took questions we heard from you on socials and got answers straight from Dr. Cook! Listen in and find out the key signals that clue you in that there is an issue with unhealthy boundaries in your life.

Boundaries in marriage might sound like it’s a contradictory statement. Anyone else have a hard time knowing how to be ‘one’ with someone while also maintaining boundaries? The biggest question I get when speaking is “How do I know I’m in unity and still say no when it’s healthy?” Following the example of the Trinity and God and creation we find some key markers for how boundaries in marriage work. There is no whole, pure love where there is no power of choice. Distinctly different entities and yet they are wholly and fully God as one. Living powerfully means you don’t need to wait for anyone else to participate. You living the abundant life only requires one participant: YOU. He knows how to make 2 one - but He also doesn’t require us to lose ourselves for the sake of our spouse. Are you showing up wholeheartedly in taking ownership of your attitudes, choices and feelings and stewarding them in a way that doesn’t require your spouse's participation? Listen in as Havilah shares a real, personal story that illustrates how Boundaries in marriage work and unpacks how it plays out in real life when you partner with the Holy Spirit.

You can’t run from the waiting! In this episode, Havilah interviews and chats with Christa Smith, Pastor, Preacher, Teacher and Author. Content while contending for what you want. If God isn’t enough for you now, in the absence of something, He won’t be enough when you get it. In order to get to a place of contentment, you have to grieve what you don’t have. Listen in as Christa shares about the journey of singleness that lasted far longer than when she wanted. When you aren’t in an ‘encounter’, can you still walk out your declaration? We believe that this episode is for the single woman OR the woman who is in a painful season of waiting or who is facing longsuffering. You will find freedom in the encouragement Christa has for you, through her inspiring story and deep wisdom.

Are you content while contending for God’s future for you? Often times we think we are ready, but really, we aren’t. God is preparing our minds and our bodies to carry the responsibility that lies ahead. Anyone else been in love with love? Anyone have their future spouse ‘checklist’? That’s right, I see you. Laying our romantic lives down in front of God is not easy. Waiting on God to bring you the things that are the deepest desires of your heart is really hard. But spoiler alert: the waiting never ends. Even if you get the one thing, there is always something else you’re waiting for. When God asks us to wait, He doesn’t give us a time frame. His timing is not our timing. Even if He says suddenly, that doesn’t mean it’s our definition of ‘suddenly’. God likes to keep the mystery. In this episode, Havilah reveals the two things you can control in the waiting season: how you wait and who you become in the journey. Listen in as she unpacks the rich treasure that awaits you in the waiting.

Going back to basics, we are going to talk about how to starve your fear and feed your faith. Fear can be good for us, it can protect us. But sometimes our fear gives us the problem but not the solution. That’s where FAITH comes in. Faith provides the solution. Havilah goes through many fears we all face and what the solution is!

We don’t want you to dismiss facts. That’s delusional. God sees fact and truth differently.

John chapter 11 - God does not need additional motivation to set you free, to heal you, to save you. We believe if God cared, He’d save us right now. He’d move on our behalf right now. Often times we get the promise, the prophesy, and we wonder what the holdup is. We feel God is holding out on us. But keep in mind, sometimes it takes time in our stories to give us the promise AND give God the glory. Don’t give up hope! People blow up their lives in the waiting. People start to take over because they feel the waiting is ‘too long’. Waiting on God is tough. If you don’t hang on to the vision of what God promises is coming… you will never birth the gift of the promise. If you don’t know what you’re getting at the end of the struggle, you will bail in the middle of the waiting. Because NOW you have an opportunity to see God and actually TRUST Him. This is a prophetic word for you: You aren’t meant to get everything you wanted in this season. Because learning that God is who He says He is and that He can do what He says He can do is the real gift. Listen in to hear this and MORE truthbombs Havilah drops this week!

God created boundaries for the sake of order, ownership and protection.

Loving ourselves and others well begins with healthy boundaries! Just in time for Valentine’s Day Havilah shares what the big deal is about boundaries. Our world consists of boundaries. It’s easy to see them all around us. We’ve built fences, signs, walls, and hedges. We’ve created cities, counties, states and countries. We use them to clarify ownership. These lines help us know who owns what and where. Once we know who the owner is, we know who is responsible. The owner of the property is legally responsible. The non-owner isn’t. As our physical world has boundaries, so, too, our spiritual world. They are harder to see, but just as important.

Boundaries don’t just keep the good in, but also keep the bad out.

Listen to week 2 of our I Do Boundaries series as Havilah unpacks how boundaries keep us from harm and protect safe and healthy love.

In this episode, Havilah and her husband Ben discuss something that has been impacting a massive number of lives on a global scale.

The simple truth is this; God wastes nothing. He doesn't allow something to happen without having a purpose around it. Not that he initiates it, but he allows it and turns everything around for his good.

The beauty in all of this is that we can confidently hold onto hope, knowing he's the one in control.

All growth starts at baseline. It’s often the incremental growth that causes us to become who we want to be and who we are called to be. In this podcast, we’ll be discussing subtle shifts for radical change.

“I Should” is based in shame and it doesn’t allow us to be in the process. It requires us to be perfect and causes discouragement. God does not hold us to the “I Should’s”, he is the ‘I Am” and “I will”. He operates in timing and seasons.

This week we are going to look at another God-created need that allows us to connect with Him.

All throughout our lives, we have moments of belonging or not belonging. We all have a deep need and desire to belong. That hunger to belong is actually God-given! The question “Where do I belong and who do I belong to?” is a big deal! This question can haunt us if we listen to what the world is saying about what it means to belong. But this hunger also has core truths that God wants to nourish you with. First and foremost you were made to belong to your Creator.

We all procrastinate. What we often do is jam the things we don’t want to do for tomorrow. We find ourselves putting things that are important to the side for the things that we want to do. In this episode we’ll be discussing how to beat procrastination.

Present bias means what’s happening in the present has more weight than what is happening in the future. Sometimes it’s hard to sacrifice for the now for the benefit of the later. It’s helpful to make healthy decisions by considering how you are going to feel about yourself in a year from now.

How do we give feedback without putting the other person’s brain into defense mode? Our brain often goes into fight, flight or freeze and the goal in all of this is to keep our brain in discovery mode for us to actually implement changes. When we say “yes, but” your brain tends to focus on the “but” part and believes that the person is standing opposed from you.  In this week’s episode, we’ll be discussing how to give feedback that is brain friendly by using the “Yes And” technique.

If we’re busy taking care of other people’s backpacks when they’re capable of doing it on our own, we won’t be able to be the spiritual person that we’re called to be. Each of us need to carry our own load. In this week’s episode we’ll discuss how to protect the areas that Christ holds us responsible for.

Galatians 6 2-5 NIV

2 Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. 3 If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves. 4 Each one should test their own actions. Today I have a special guest with me. Not only is he my baby-maker and the love of my life but he is also my business partner and ministry partner. We were having a conversation in our kitchen, and I thought this would be something you could benefit from too.

We’ve been running Truth to Table full-time for two and a half years now, and we feel like we are no longer in survival mode. We now ask ourselves, how do we move forward? I’ve been struggling with knowing when certain thoughts are fear or wisdom. A lot of the hesitations I have are not grounded in wisdom but in fear of going without. It’s been hard for me to admit because I usually would not say I’m a fearful person but more of a risk-taker. But when I’m not doing well, I grow resistant towards situations and people due to fear. I’ve had to do some work internally to get rid of that child-like fear of being trapped in a painful situation.

In this podcast, I want to share with you how I work through these fears and constraints.

I hope this encourages you today and that you can learn from my story.

Today I have a special guest and friend on the podcast with me, John Bevere. We will be talking about the wilderness season together and how God takes us through different seasons in our lives.

God allows us to go through the wilderness to develop character. God told David, he would be king, but then David had to go through the process, which is the wilderness. Joseph was given a dream but was forced to go the exact opposite direction of that dream to be ready for the promise. God wants to put us into a place of influence, but we need the character first. We don't always go through this season because we did something wrong but because we need it to go where He's called us to go.

Promise. Process. Promotion.

In the wilderness, it feels like God’s presence is far away from us and the promises He made us even further. But when you understand the purpose of the wilderness, you have the proper behavior to grow through it. If you don’t steward the wilderness properly or understand it, you will never understand what the promise holds.

It is so important that we have the right tools, wisdom, and encouragements in this season to endure it and grab hold of its purpose.

In this podcast episode I want to talk about rejection, abandonment and building more confidence.

I grew up in a safe home. But just because we’re not raised around something doesn’t mean we’re not touched by it. My Dad’s story was a story of rejection, abandonment and a lack of confidence but when he found Christ, he started to go after those things and find healing. I was raised in a home of love and safety, but that generational thread that followed my Dad would love nothing more than to knock on my door. Instead of saying those were his issues, I realized that spirit of rejection and abandonment wants to follow my story as well.

The narrative of abandonment and rejection sounds so familiar in our thoughts that it doesn’t even sound surprising to us. But when we hear those negative narratives in our mind, we have a decision to make. We can go to self-pity, or we can stay soft and open to the people around us and realize God is divinely orchestrating everything in our life. In those moments we have to reject abandonment.

Thank you so much for tuning in today! Let's break up with the narratives in our mind that keep us from living fully free.

Learn all about Leap Into Love: https://truthtotable.com/leap-into-love/

A couple of months ago I was having one of those days where I couldn’t get it together. Everything was irritating me, and I was having a hard day. At one point my youngest son was trying to get my attention. I asked him what he wanted, and he replied, he had forgotten how beautiful I was. It was a moment that took my breath away but also showed me a parallel of how God sees us. We’re so busy doing life and dream chasing that we forget what God thinks about us.

In this podcast episode, I want to talk to you a little bit about my new study “Leap into Love.” The reason I wrote this study was that there was a part in my journey where it wasn’t until I was able to accept myself in a profound way that I was able to become a vital voice.

This study is more than just dealing with self-rejection and finding inner healing. It’s about learning to live present in our everyday life and to accept ourselves for who we are. It is the secret to living full-heartedly.

This brand new Bible study starts on January 22nd and includes 4 LIVE teaching nights, plus 20 short daily videos where I’ll teach 6-8 minutes through the Leap into Love book. *You don’t need the book to join, but it’s a great resource to dive deeper.

I’d love for you to pass this along to a friend and join me for this special 4-week journey to Living Present to our Purpose on the Planet.

P.S This is the last week you can pre-order the book for just $ 12, so grab one for you and a friend and sign up today!

In this episode, we continue talking about the topic of purpose. We need to begin to connect your natural talent, the thing you are actually good at, with the purpose of God. This might actually be the secret of what He has for you. What we do in life are assignments that come and go. Instead of getting lost in the assignment as an identity we need to see them as seasons that train us for what God has called us to do.

When we see what’s in God’s heart and we live in faith for that, we might still feel resistance in our lives but it gets thinner and thinner until we break through it. We must understand that it's very important that we seek God’s heart and practice believing His truth during times of struggle.

If you don't steward the mundane, then you won't be prepared for the supernatural. It isn't always easy but we are all called to grow and refine the gifts we've been given. Routine is the foundation that allows us to stay diligent and become the person we are called to be.

In this podcast episode I want to talk to you a little bit about the topic of purpose.

I know that purpose is one of those buzz words that we hear all the time. Especially at church we hear “God has a purpose and a plan”. Those sound really great until you begin to wonder if your life is full of purpose and if you are living in Gods purpose for your life. These questions are really good questions and really important!

Today I want to share with you the idea of knowing our Creator in order to know what we were created for. We cannot know our full potential unless we know God.

I hope this message encourages you and propels you forward to live with purpose. You’ve got this!

I want to talk to you about the power of parenting. I’m so excited to have my mom joining us today for this topic.

I wanted to take this time to encourage you in this holiday season, especially if you’re a mom or you’re a working woman or have a lot to navigate! Give yourself the grace to learn and be open during this time of the year. This podcast will hopefully help you keep your focus on the important things this holiday season.

Our kids can't take a backseat to the hustle of the season. If we don’t have a strategy, the season will take over. We will arrive in January and have forgotten to parent in December. This month is critical for parenting, but it can be challenging to navigate when it comes to how generous and how strict we should be. In the end, your kids want you and your time. How are you spending quality time with your children and investing in them this holiday season? It doesn’t have to be perfect, just one day at a time.

Thank you for joining us today! You can do this!

I’m so excited to have my Dad, Francis Anfuso, join me for this podcast episode! For as long as I can remember, my Dad has been a communicator, and I grew up as a ministers kid.

Today, we talk a little bit about his story and how he got radically saved as an atheist. Jesus is in the business of saving people. We need to get around people who have radically come out of darkness into the light, and that’s why I’m so thankful for my Dad and his story.

Everything that we have is redeemable, and God wants to use every part of our story for his kingdom. Setbacks are more stepping stones that they are real setbacks. Life is not easy, and no one has it easy. We all need a Savior.

This is why my Dad and I are so passionate about communicating. About a year ago, I told my Dad that I wanted to raise up more communicators. And the reason wasn’t that I am the most educated and academic person around but because I knew that there are people out there who are like me, who have a heart to do something like me and don't know how to do it. God is a communicator, and he gives us this passion for communicating his heart because he wants to set people free.

For those who are curious and have a heart to communicate or just want more help and practical tools, you can go to theinfluencertable.com. You will find two courses there. “Message Prep” is available currently and “Delivering a Message” will be dropped in January 2019. It is everything we know, all our tools and secrets.

In this podcast, I talk about the importance of communication and how everyone is called to communicate in some form or fashion.

I’ve often heard this statement: “I wish I had someone to walk alongside me to help me begin and grow in my journey to preaching and teaching.”

In fact, this is the exact reason I’ve created these Crash Courses to Communication. There are so many things you just may not know how to navigate - like where to even start or how to get there. I want to help shortcut this process with clarity so you can hit the target. Having a guide to teach you the basics while showing you things to avoid and watch out for, will save you so much wandering while causing you to grow, develop and learn faster and with specific clarity.

Sometimes we give ourselves too much permission to sit on the couch of life and throw a pity party. Maybe you find that your deep conversations end up reciting past failures and disappointments? One of the greatest traps of doing HARD THINGS is the “Why Me?” trap. It’s a place where the enemy wants us to believe that God somehow actually gave us more than we could handle.

He wants us to believe that instead of God being a good Father to us, we are left to depend on ourselves. The enemy tries to convince us that God is not a present Papa but rather a forgetful Father. That He is someone who likes to give us more than we can handle, only to watch and judge us for our lack of ability to follow through and do them well. It’s a lie that we can easily buy into!

The enemy likes us to stay in our pit. He will try to get us to buy into any lie he can in order to keep us bound, never victorious, and always feeling defeated. The enemy knows that if he can get us to take these HARD THINGS as a personal assault from God, we will no longer believe that He is a good God but a lying and deceitful God, who likes to punish His people. If we believe this lie, we will stay in the pit and our inner lives become dark and cold without hope.

On this episode, Bill Johnson joins us in a fascinating discussion about life, faith and the supernatural.

The power belongs to the believer to decide what we have in our world. We underestimate the power of permitting the enemy to steal and destroy. Havilah and Bill talk about how we often do not understand the struggles but faith is proven faith when the mystery remains.

On this week's podcast, we learn about the art of saying yes and no. If we say yes to everything, we aren’t saying “yes” to the things that matter most. Havilah outlines how to use positive “no’s” in our Intentional Boundaries series.

A defense mode is when we sense a threat coming. Our brain automatically puts into motion into the 3 F’s category – Fight – Flight – Freeze

A discovery mode is when our focus is to open up and to learn. It allows our mind to stay open to new possibilities, concepts and belief systems. The key is to stay in discovery mode!

It’s important how we communicate our “no’s”. When we put other people in defense mode by our words, it actually doesn’t allow them to see our positive no. We want them to feel appreciated, valued and to keep them in discovery mode.

In this podcast episode, I talk to my friend Rebekah Lyons about what it looks like to have a spirit of power, love and a sound mind. God is telling us that everything we have experienced in the past, whether that is depression, anxiety etc. is equipping is for what we were destined for.

The measure of trial you have endured is the measure of hope you will offer the world. We would not have empathy to minister or authority of His power if we don’t experience it ourselves. The message of freedom comes from knowing what it feels like to be in bondage. In the midst of the struggle, we can feel so lost but God wants us to watch what He can do through the struggle.

Today on the podcast I want to talk to you about relationships, answers, and ghosting. I want to especially look at some of the dilemmas we face with romantic relationships. We can get frustrated with the reality that not responding is actually responding. No answer is an answer. Ouch!

The Bible says “Hope deferred makes the heart sick” (Proverbs 13:12) which means when we put our hope in something that will change, oftentimes it can make our heart grow sick because we are living in two realities. We are living in the hope but also in reality. Instead, we have to realize that truth is our friend and we have to believe God will lead us into truth even when it doesn’t look the way we imagined it would.

I hope this podcast encourages you today! Don’t let fear and anxiety be the driving force in your life! Keep your heart pure and pull back if you need to. Thank you for listening! I hope you join me next time!

We reap what we sow and God loves to give great rewards. In this podcast episode, I talk about how fall is a season of promise, great harvest and stewardship. Fall is all about reaping what we’ve sown, it’s a season of promise. The physical evidence of our hard work from previous seasons materializes. It’s time to store up and give away. Everything we’ve hoped for is coming to pass and we begin to see it. It’s time to celebrate and it’s time for thanksgiving.

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9 NIV.

I hope this encourages you today! Don’t worry, God will be faithful to you. He’s more committed to your success than you are.

In this podcast episode, I want to share with you how we created our family values. I want to give you some tools that are working for us. This is not something I want you to idolize, it’s not a formula and it takes me a lot of effort to think about these things.

Our family values: 1. Jesus is the center of our family. 2. Our family is a team, everyone counts. 3. We gather our family and friends around the table. 4. We are givers. We exist to give love and serve. 5. We value creating over consuming. 6. We steward our time, schedule and responsibilities. 7. We honor God by living healthy. 8. We live within our means and save for the future. 9. We value experiencing the world together and making lasting memories. 10. We live grateful lives by expressing thanks.

I hope this helps you today! Keep going, you can even start today! Get your vision clear and spell it out. Figure out what works for you and do it! Thank you for giving me a few minutes of your day, I always appreciate it.

In this podcast episode, I am going to talk about setting healthy boundaries.

Learning about healthy boundaries in my life set my world on fire in the best way possible. One of the biggest questions I get is “How do you do all that you do?” and my answer to that is “I don’t!”. But I do have very clear boundaries that allow me space to be me in a really crazy life.

It’s no ones responsibility to know what they’re taking from you. You are the only one who knows whose taking from you and you need to be unashamed in your ability to say yes and no to fight for the things others will never know about.

We can put a lot of blame on others for us being exhausted, overwhelmed and conflicted. Often we can expect others to put limits on us in order for us to say no. At the end of the day it’s no one else’s responsibility, we need to show up as adults and own our day and our responsibilities.

This summer has been one of the hardest summers for us as a family and as a community. In this podcast episode, I want to give you an update and a rundown of all the events that took place this summer.

Often we can be distracted by what we assume is the “holy” thing to do that we miss what God is telling us to do personally. The gospel looks different on everybody. We need to do what he has called us to do instead of comparing ourselves to one another. If we all run to the same place other areas will be lacking. After all the events that took place this summer, I felt a Spirit if discouragement on myself because it wasn’t just “a bad day”.

Sometimes we make excuses for not being ourselves when we actually need to legitimize that we’re not doing well and we need help. And what I’ve learned over the years is that in those moments I need to take a step back and look at what’s happening. Where did I get stuck emotionally, mentally, spiritually or physically? I learned to give myself empathy for my current situation without living with a victim mentality. This means going back to the basics.

In this episode, I talk about how shame is the result of sin. We can’t live on this earth without bumping into shame. Going our own way is called sin and sin ultimately leads to shame. The shame we feel can leave us feeling helpless and cause us to hide; condemning and discounting ourselves. But not all shame is bad! Why? Because shame can lead us back to God! It is an invitation and opportunity to reconnect with Him and to reach out to our Savior.

The enemy wants to put your shame on display and then he wants to keep you there. The Father does the complete opposite; He covers you and then calls you back into the light and into His arms. When shame is experienced, we do not need to stay there and hide. Jesus’ sacrifice gave us the incredible gift of repentance. If we allow our shame to lead to lead us to repent, it can lead us back to Him. So come out of hiding and reconnect with Him.

In this episode, I talk about how we can navigate conflict well. Conflict is normal and sometimes we think without conflict we are peaceful people. It’s important to realize that we can’t resolve everything but we do have a part to play. Today I want to share some things with you that I use almost on a daily basis to resolve conflict and live through conflict.

  1. You are fully responsible for yourself.
  2. Use empathy and put yourself in someone else’s shoes for a minute.
  3. Own up with what you have and ask yourself if you should have a conversation about it. What can you do without the other person participating?
  4. Practice saying: “I am so sorry, will you please forgive me?”
  5. Let it go and keep no record of wrongs (1 Corinthians 13:5).
  6. Come up with a plan and ask yourself the right questions.

I hope this helps you today. Always ask the Lord to guide you. Let go of the things He is asking you to let go of and fight for the things He is asking you to fight for.

“My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.” -James 1:19 (NIV)

In this episode, I talk about how we grow and develop our lives especially when we find we are struggling and it feels like we are walking on water.

What you are feeling today may not be directly linked to what you invested in today, prayed today or developed today. Everything is because of yesterday. The Bible is very clear that we will reap what we’ve sown, however, what we don’t often realize is that our harvest is directly linked to what we’ve sown long ago.

Where are we sowing today in order to reap next year?

How are you stewarding what God has given you so that you can double it by next year? What do you want to reap in 2019? It’s important to take ownership of the seeds we’ve been given to sow and steward them well because He wants to entrust more to us.

Don’t be discouraged by the doing, step out in confidence and keep going because you are going to reap a great harvest in the future.

We are His creation. If we constantly hate what we see every time we look in the mirror, how can we trust that God has a great plan for our lives? The reality is that the picture we see in the mirror is His greatest work. We are His creation.

How He created us, whether we like it or not, was part of His plan and there is an acceptance we have to come to. The message of Jesus has always been one saying we are accepted, made perfect, and loved beyond comprehension. Ground yourself in this reality and self-rejection will begin to lose its power.

In this podcast we're continuing with our Growth series. Tune in as we talk all about "development" as a stage of growth.

If we miss the season, we will miss the moment. If we don’t know what season we are in and what stage of development we are in, we can often times miss the moment entirely.

In order to develop our spiritual life, we need to know what season are in. We need to acknowledge that the season you were in may not be the same season you are in today.

“There is a season (a time appointed) for everything and a time for every delight and event or purpose under heaven” Ecclesiastes 3:1 (MSG)

You must embrace the season you’re in because the moment you embrace the space it becomes easier.

“Let us not grow weary or become discouraged in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap, if we do not give in.” Galatians 6:9

Can a Christian have a meltdown? We often times know that a crash or meltdown is coming but we don’t know what to do. In this week’s class, we’re going to talk about "environment."

Who are you waiting for to participate for you to live an abundant life? We are called to live an abundant life without anyone else participating. How do you get your power back?

Galatians 6:5 (MSG) Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don’t be impressed with yourself. Don’t compare yourself with others. Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life.

The environment in which you are growing life is your responsibility. God is the gardener, he is the center of our life!

In this podcast, we'll be starting a new series on Growth: Subtle Changes for Radical Growth. This series will actually give you a sneak peek into our Truth to Table membership experience.

Part 1: All growth starts at baseline. It’s often the incremental growth that causes us to become who we want to be and who we are called to be. In this week’s class, we’ll be discussing subtle shifts for radical change.

“I Should” is based in shame and it doesn’t allow us to be in the process. It requires us to be perfect and causes discouragement. God does not hold us to the “I Should’s”, he is the ‘I Am” and “I will”. He operates in timing and seasons.

Have you ever been in a spiritual situation that has left you more confused than empowered?

In this Podcast episode, I share a story of the first time I witnessed something spiritual happen. I talk about how it left me confused and terrified. It wasn’t until I started to read and study the idea of spiritual battles that I was reminded of this moment. Many of us have experienced things like this happen, and people have shut it down.

Our spiritual battle was never meant to be fear-driven and something we can’t talk about. We were born into battle. We must understand that we can't be ignorant of the enemy's schemes (2 Corinthians 2:11).

When we decide to live for Christ, we are stronger than any struggle we will ever face. Does this mean we will never face any struggles? No, because we still live in a fallen world. But why does He allow all these struggles? God in his mercy does not interrupt our free-will because controlling love is not real love. No one is immune to the struggle, but our firm foundation in our faith is that we have a living hope in the midst of a hopeless world. We are stronger than the struggle because we have Christ living within us.

Want to learn more about this topic? We'd love for you to join our brand new Global Book Club starting soon. You can join today for FREE: https://truthtotable.com/strongerthantthestruggle/book-club Inside the FREE book club, you'll get access to 14 videos + book club guide + an interactive online community. Sometimes in life things actually get harder before they get easier. It doesn't always mean you're going in the wrong direction when things feel off. Radical change happens sometimes as our situation gets worse. The beautiful lesson in all of this is that God always has a redemptive plan in mind. He already has a beautiful future set out for us, we might just have to wait a little longer than we might have thought.

In this Podcast episode Havilah shares some thoughts on how to navigate your December. The more you have going on, the more critical it is to have a strategy. There is a downside of December and the feelings it provides. A lot of us have expectations that come with Christmas-time, but the reality is completely different.

Havilah gives you 5 keys to a peaceful December

Admit you have expectations. If you do not admit it, you will feel more and more disappointed when reality hits you. This is called maturity. What are you expecting and what are your limitations? What is most important to you? What feeling do you want to have during this season? Sometimes these are two different things. Schedule things to facilitate your feelings. What can you do to connect with your people, God and yourself? Set expectations for others. You need to get in a place of throwing things, not always catching. People have expectations, but if you know you can’t do it all, you have to say no. Consider January. You cannot ignore January in December because it will slap you in the face when it comes. But if you consider it now, you will love it when it comes. Think about the feeling you want when the new year kicks in. Set it up right now, so you are not left with surprises and disappointment.

We hope this helps you today and that your December will be peaceful.

They talk about the different dynamics of men and women and the learning process of not trying to change each other or expect them to act like the opposite sex but to validate and value how God designed both men and women to function differently.

They share some personal experiences from their own lives about communication, emotions and expectations of raising boys and how boys operate and the shared responsibility of raising boys into men.

Today on the podcast I talk about the hard work that comes with change.

It’s fall and the right season for change, shift and new beginnings. I am still in the thick of transition as you might know if you have been following this podcast.

In this episode I talk about how we often wish that what God asks us to do is magically easy and doesn’t require any effort. But the truth is, sometimes doing life is just hard and not fun. With change comes hard work, adjustment and a different way of thinking, a process.

The acknowledgment of it being hard does not make us weak but normal and human. It’s not a definition of our purpose but a reality.

I love Psalm 90:17 in the Passion Translation, it says “O Lord, our God, let your sweet beauty rest upon us and give us favor. Come work with us, and then our works will endure. And give us success in all we do!”

We want favor not just our own effort. We want to come and have God’s sweet beauty resting upon us. I know this is going to be work and it’s not going to be an easy road. So my prayer has been “God, come work with me. Let my work endure with you. I need favor.”

So today, wherever you are, the truth is, if you feel like it’s work, sometimes that’s exactly what it is. The fact that it’s difficult is not a sign that you’re going in the wrong direction but that you are human, moving and that life is going to ebb and flow. God is with you, and he will lead you. You are allowed to endure. The harvest is so much sweeter when you’ve had sweat running down your face. I hope this encourages you today!

Today on the podcast Havilah is coming to you from Brazil!

We’re staying on the topic of transition as many of you have been responding to these podcasts saying that they have helped you through your transition.

Hebrews 11:1 says “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen.”

Without faith, it is impossible to please God. It is impossible to please God by living a life worthy of the calling you have received (Ephesians 4:1) without living in faith. Living with the assurance of the things we have not yet seen is truly pleasing to God.

You know that this is what you’re supposed to do, and you’ve gone far enough that you can’t go back but if we don’t have the right balance, the right effort and the right momentum we won’t make it, we will fall over.

Many of us are right in the middle. We’re not going back; we’re not in the full calling and momentum of what the next season holds but being in that spot is FAITH.

Faith is that space of what we once knew and what we know to be true. It feels like pausing, waiting and not knowing where we’re heading.

That’s normal, so don’t change your motivation and direction. Go forward! Faith is not a feeling; it is an assurance. Without the assurance that the next season is coming, you cannot please God.

The more we live in faith, the more hope we will have for the future.

If you’re in transition today, know that faith is that weird pause, that in between. But don’t let your brain wander, don’t let your emotions dominate because you can’t enjoy the journey that way. Set your mind on God and let the Word of God surround you. You will get there, just keep going forward.

Today on the podcast, Havilah and Ben continue talking about transitions.

You can’t force transition, and if you make something happen while depending more on your strength than on Gods, you will always wonder if you made it happen or if God did.

He cannot lead us if we are not walking. Sometimes it’s trying to see if the door will open and we can walk through it rather than waiting around. God will be gracious enough to shut the door if it’s not the right way. Our motives must be open to hearing what God is saying. We shouldn’t try and make things happen ourselves, but we also shouldn’t be fearful of making a mess.

Life comes in assignments. We might have big dreams or are in pursuit of figuring that dream out but whatever we are doing right now is our assignment. It’s not our identity, and we don’t become more valuable by entering into the next season. Being obedient to our next assignments helps us connect the things we don’t understand.

Try to keep the process clean, keep the transition clean. And what this means is starting AND finishing well. How you left a season can follow you more than the storyline of you actually BEING IN the season.

Whatever season you are in, think about how you can defuse any fire storm that could be following you. Instead of creating negative story lines, honor the season when leaving it as much as when you’re in it.

In this podcast, I share about some big changes happening in our lives.

About a year ago, God began to speak to me while my life was in full-throttle. My husband and I had four boys and were running two organizations. I was writing, traveling, and speaking, and I had a whole team of people helping me make it all happen. The Holy Spirit challenged me to back things down a little and add space in my life. He challenged me to get back to the original “yes” I felt in my heart when I first signed up to serve Him.

I can’t wait to share more on this topic with you in future podcasts or blog posts. Transition is all a part of God’s master plan to move you forward and help you walk in your true calling.

View Details

Today Havilah talks about transition, about knowing when it’s time for change.

Some people like to jump the gun when it comes to transition and other people sit in transition until someone kicks them out the door.

This podcast will give you some ideas of when to know it’s time for transition.

It’s interesting because the moment one jumps into transition questions rise up about whether it was a mistake and this is completely normal.

You can be doing all the right things and be spiritually growing in the Lord, but then suddenly you can feel fear. It’s important to know not to buy into fear.

The Bible says that it is impossible to please God without faith (Hebrews 11:6) which means it is impossible to live a life of pleasing God without living in an extra reality of the natural.

Just because you feel fear doesn’t mean you are going in the wrong direction. Fear can mean you are going in the right direction.

If you want to follow the calling and purpose that’s on your life, you’re going to have to figure out a strategy for fear. That doesn’t necessarily mean trying to get away from fear but living through fear and not letting it dominate any decisions.

Sometimes the struggle isn’t that we don’t want to do it but that we don’t want it to cost us. But you are not able to go where you are called to go unless you are willing to pay the price.

Here are four things people experience during transition:

Feeling fear, which is normal. We must walk through it! Having to say “No” in order to say “Yes”. That’s the trade; the trade-off is where it happens. Not wanting to go through with it. Stay in the process! Walking from day to day. When in transition giving yourself permission to be in the day to day is so important.

Don’t hang out waiting for God to make the decisions for you; God is not going to give you a prophetic word if it’s going to keep you powerless.

Give something God can bless! He can’t bless transition if you’re not going to make it!

In this episode, I talk about a pattern I use in my life consistently. It’s for those seasons when I’m trying to hear from God for something.

I don't know about you, but there are seasons where I'm just waiting on God to answer me.

There are things in life that you have to let happen. Often we have to give things time to work themselves out. Sometimes things come through time.

I want to encourage you with Psalms 25:5: “Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; For you, I wait all the day long.”

I love that thought that He is leading us into truth, He’s teaching us, He’s the God who will save us, but sometimes we will have to wait all the day long! God wants you to realize that this is part of the process and we can’t rush the hand and the voice of God; we can only be available for it when it comes.

So whatever season you are in, have you given it some time? Have you sat with it? Are you continuing with your daily life? And are you available when God wants to give it to you?

For me, God will often speak to me in those moments where I’m sitting still, coming out of rest. The Holy Spirit will whisper to my heart and reveal His thoughts to me. It allows me to be dependant on Him.

Don’t keep looking at the problem because I believe if you want God’s will you will get God’s will! It just may take some time.

View Details

The Holy Spirit reminded me to not worry about tomorrow’s problems. You can't solve them today. Every time I think about something that worries me, it’s usually about things that are happening tomorrow. They’re happening in the future. Matthew 6:34 says “Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.

In this episode I share my three best techniques for worry:

  1. Turn your thoughts into prayers. Thank Him, that He is already working on your tomorrow. "Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns." Philippians 4:6

  2. Ask yourself what the worst thing is that could happen. Think about what the enemy has been holding over your head. And then define what success means to you. Perfection is not success. Success is being obedient to Christ.

  3. Use the word “I don’t” instead of “I can’t”. This combination of words is way more powerful. What we say with our mouth our mind takes as fact, whether we believe it or not. So, what are the “I don’ts in your life?

Did you know that how you begin something is important, but how you end something is just as important?

Being faithful to God doesn’t mean staying in one place. It’s understanding that we have assignments and that our identity isn’t based on those assignments. Our assignments change, but our identity doesn’t.

Galatians 6:9 says “And let us not grow weary in well-doing”. The Bible wouldn’t say that, if we didn’t have the tendency to grow weary, it’s a human condition.

What assignment are you looking at today? Are you honoring and loving that? Everything you are doing today is preparation for tomorrow.

Today on the podcast I have a special guest to share with you; my friend, Josh Cearbaugh. We have built a friendship over the past four years and have seen each other’s families grow and thrive in many ways.

Josh is a Life Consultant who leads people through internal transformation; connecting people to their heart, identifying areas where they find themselves stuck, and creating practical strategies to transition us to a place of thriving.

Oftentimes, the places where we get stuck are the very places God wants to give us the most freedom so we can help others who are stuck in the same environment.

Josh shares how he walked through a season where he didn’t give his emotions a place in his life; they had no value and were pushed aside. During this time, he didn’t know how to care for himself emotionally or process through pain; it resulted in an emotional and physical breakdown that manifested through a lack of safe environments.

He decided that he could either stay in that place or climb out of the pit. He chose to fight for his emotional health and process through emotions and deep places of pain. Walking through his past experiences, he began to dismantle areas of pain and bring healing. It began a passion for seeing others walk in freedom; helping to identify the root cause of their lack and create steps to wholeness. Thus began his consulting practice.

Josh has also created an invaluable resource called the Jumpstart Your Life eCourse; pulling from years of developing the most effective tools and philosophies to see tangible change in the people he has worked with in his practice. He has invited each of you to take a free quiz that walks you through 26 easy questions on emotional well-being. You will also receive an exclusive discount for 50% off the eCourse enrollment!

In this episode, I tackle a question I hear a lot. In fact, it may be one of the most important questions we ask on our journey with the Lord. The question is this; how can I grow in hearing God’s voice for my life? For my family? For my future?

My passion is to show you how to hear God’s voice and grow in your gifting. In my last podcast episode, I spoke about the four overarching truth’s for discerning God’s voice. If you didn’t get a chance to tune in, I encourage you to go back and listen; you can find that podcast below:

http://havilahcunnington.com/podcasts/49-learning-to-hear-gods-voice-in-your-everyday-life-pt-1/

As we continue on this journey of learning to hear God’s voice; there are a few things we need to understand:

  1. We each hear God’s voice distinctly and uniquely.
  2. We are called to steward the gift of hearing His voice.
  3. God doesn’t hide from us; He is always speaking (Proverbs 3:6).
  4. Hearing His voice is the fruit of relationship.

I relate discerning the voice of God through what I like to call, filters. While there are countless ways in which the Lord communicates with us, how we experience His voice can be summarized in four primary prophetic personalities; hearers, feelers, seers, and knowers.

If you’d like to join over 17,000 people who have uncovered the unique way they hear God’s voice, follow the link below to take the FREE prophetic personality quiz:

In this podcast, I unpack each of the four overarching truths to hearing God’s voice so you can tune into Heaven’s design for your life! I also mention a FREE quiz you can take to better discover your own unique way of hearing God's voice.

TAKE THE FREE QUIZ HERE --> bit.ly/tttquiz

To be honest, I found it shocking to discover that most men and women who follow Christ wholeheartedly are unsure that they are hearing God’s voice on a daily basis.

This reality took me on a journey of translating the way we each uniquely hear the Lord so I could teach others. It shouldn’t be confusing or something we wonder about; we CAN be clear when it comes to recognizing His voice.

  1. We were all created to hear God’s voice, but we all hear differently.
  2. We need to learn the filter by which we hear His voice.
  3. We need to have permission to hear Him differently than other people.
  4. We need to practice hearing His voice.

Many times we can feel less than, lost, or confused because we struggle to hear His voice in our lives. But, just because you need to work at something, doesn’t mean you weren’t created for it.

You were created to hear His voice. Don’t give up; keep digging in.
