“We were thrilled to have you join us for the exhilarating and hella fun discussion of Battle Plan for Health during our season 3 finale of True Health Live, where we delved deep into the art of battle planning for your health. We had an amazing time, sharing insights and practical strategies to develop your 2024 Battle Plan to ensure your well-being.
In the chaos of our daily lives, where countless responsibilities and distractions compete for our attention, it’s easy to neglect our well-being. We often find ourselves reacting to situations rather than proactively shaping our own destinies. That’s where the concept of “battle planning” comes into play, offering a structured approach to prioritize and safeguard your health and well-being.
Defining Battle PlanBattle planning is a strategic process, akin to military strategists devising tactics to win a war. In our context, it involves setting clear goals and creating a well-thought-out plan to achieve them. To embark on this journey effectively, start by asking yourself two fundamental questions: “What do I want for my life?” and “What will I do for my life?”
Asking the Right QuestionsThese initial questions serve as the foundation of your battle plan. “What do I want for my life?” encourages you to envision the life you desire. What are your aspirations, dreams, and goals? This question sets the direction for your battle plan, giving it purpose and meaning.
“What will I do for my life?” complements the first question by bringing your desires into the realm of action. It prompts you to contemplate the steps you’re willing to take to make your dreams a reality. It encourages commitment and determination in your pursuit of a healthier, happier life.
Prioritizing Your HealthYour health is your most valuable asset. With a battle plan in place, you’re more likely to prioritize regular exercise, a balanced diet, and adequate sleep. It becomes easier to keep up with health check-ups, and screenings. In this way, you’re preventing health issues before they become serious, rather than just reacting to them when they strike.
A battle plan doesn’t solely revolve around physical health; it encompasses mental health and overall well-being as well. You can incorporate strategies for stress management, mindfulness, and relaxation techniques into your plan. By being prepared for life’s emotional challenges, you’re better equipped to maintain balance and resilience.
Consistency is KeyOne of the beauties of a battle plan is its focus on consistency. Regular exercise, a nutritious diet, and good sleep should not be sporadic efforts but daily habits. A battle plan reinforces the idea that long-term well-being is built on small, consistent actions.
Setting Goals and Measuring ProgressYour battle plan should include specific, measurable, and attainable goals. Whether it’s losing a certain amount of weight, reducing stress levels, or mastering a new hobby, having clear objectives keeps you motivated. Periodically measuring your progress allows you to make adjustments and stay on course.
Battle Plans = Peace of MindPerhaps the most significant benefit of a well-structured battle plan for your health and well-being is peace of mind. You have a roadmap to follow, which reduces anxiety about the future. You feel more in control of your life and more empowered to overcome challenges.
In conclusion, battle planning for your health and well-being is not about obsessing over every detail of your life. It’s about taking charge, being proactive, and preparing for a better, healthier future. So, let’s get ready to conquer life’s battles and emerge victorious in the pursuit of a healthier, happier you.
We encourage you to watch and share this episode with your friends and family, as together, we can make 2024 the healthiest year yet, while having fun along the way!”

In this episode, we delve into the intricate dance of relationship roles and their impact on our health and wellbeing. WE explore the ways in which the roles we play can nurture or inhibit not only our physical but also emotional and mental health. Take a listen in as we share stories, expert insights and perhaps some guidance on ways to harmonize our roles in a way that makes room for us to be healthy and flourish.
Relationship roles play a crucial role in shaping our lives across different domains, including family, spouse, and work. Within the family unit, roles determine responsibilities, from caregiving to financial support, impacting the well-being of all members. In a spousal relationship, roles evolve, influencing communication and emotional support. Equitable roles foster mutual growth and happiness. At work, roles define tasks, hierarchy, and collaboration. A balanced allocation of roles enhances workplace efficiency and job satisfaction. In all three spheres, open dialogue, adaptability, and shared responsibilities are key to healthy relationships, ensuring that each role contributes positively to overall health and harmony.

Obesity and public health necessary discussion. Obesity is a global epidemic that poses a substantial threat to public health. Over the past few decades, its prevalence has skyrocketed, affecting people of all backgrounds. Our latest episode explores factors relating to obesity and why it necessitates immediate attention.
The influence of obesity on public health is intricate and extensive. It notably elevates the likelihood of chronic illnesses, reduces life expectancy, and places a substantial financial strain on healthcare systems due to escalating expenses. Furthermore, beyond the healthcare sphere, obesity has economic consequences, resulting in diminished workplace efficiency and increased rates of absenteeism.
Addressing the obesity epidemic requires a comprehensive approach. Encouraging healthier lifestyles, creating environments that facilitate healthy choices, implementing policy interventions like sugar taxes, and raising awareness about the consequences of obesity are vital steps.
In conclusion, obesity’s toll on public health is undeniable, but collective action can mitigate its effects. By focusing on prevention, supportive environments, and evidence-based policies, we can pave the way for a healthier future.

On this strong’s (week’s) podcast we discuss “Fake Foods” and the increasingly pervasive availability of “food” products not made from natural plants or animals. Yes, fake food (also known as food fraud) is an actual phenomenon on its own, however we are also including synthetic/synthesized foods as part of our discussion. Fake food is the intentional misrepresentation of food products for economic gain. Synthetic food, is food that is grown or produced using biotechnology and tissue engineering techniques in a laboratory setting. These practices may seem harmless, however they can have serious implications for public health.
Knowing agricultural jargon is necessary for several reasons, particularly in the context of synthetic foods. Here are some ways to address this:
By becoming more informed about current language in agriculture, consumers can make more informed choices about the food they eat. They can also help ensure that the products they purchase are safe, sustainable, and aligned with their values.

Black Hair “Care”…Where? Perms, cancer and lawsuits, oh my! There are various definition of the word “care”, here is one: (1) serious attention or consideration applied to doing something correctly or to avoid damage or risk. If the products utilized cause more harm than good, should it be referred to as black hair “care”? Research shows us that a good amount of the beauty products peddled to melanin dominant communities are linked with risk of early puberty, fibroids, and cancer. In this case, care would be inaccurate. If we can’t pronounce some of the ingredients then whey do we continue to purchase and use them? In the first episode of the our 3rd season we have an open and honest conversation about all sides of this conversation, from injustices to ignorance. Oh, and somehow we started talking about cows again.
