Need a laugh? A pick-me-up? A hot-button topic to debate with your lady (or lord)? Tap into C & C for weekly chatter about sports, music, food, & a bunch more stuff you sort of care about...
Jason Papagan & Anthony Pisch love Boston & Philly sports, respectively. But this isn't just a sports podcast. Transplanted to their new world suburbia outside Raleigh, North Carolina, the boys chat weekly about movies, TV, music, sports, food, beer, reindeer games, winning their men's softball league championship, and whatever else topical comes up. Drop in for a minute... #thatsright
After some NFL takes and a discussion of whether or not the Deshaun Watson trade is the worst in sports history, we dive into some of the all time most disapointing "knock off" products that we ended up with, because they were chepear, healthier, or just available. We're talking Hydrox cookies, Loc Blocs, and Go Bots. Then we discuss the shocking news that Capri Sun is going to be selling it's drinks in bottles and we wax on about the iconic packaging like pouches and cannisters that "Make" certain products what they are.
We're broadcasting for the first time, outside on the Villa Papagna 3.0 -- it's an old school C&C (with new skool takes)! As we do every couple years, we give you some fresh takes (rants) on the Olympics, including which sports we could compete in and which sports should be added (pool H-O-R-S-E, anyone?). Also, a recap of Jason's destination wedding weekend in the Vermont mountains, and some fresh travel takes coming off his honeymoon to Antigua, including an airport terminal edition of America's Favorite Game, "Who Sucks More?"
A tight twenty minute banger! Why are the Minions and Murder Mystery Parties still in my life? Also, boneless chicken wings have no business calling themselves "wings."
The interim producer joins the C&C boys for round 2 of renaming American sports teams. We take another handful of teams from the four major American sports that we think have mediocre or crappy team names, and come up with much better ways for them to re-brand themselves. This time around, we fix the Las Vegas Raiders, the Atlanta Braves, the New York Jets, the Brooklyn Nets, and our own local Carolina Hurricanes. Pour the moonshine and sip into this chock full of genius.
Fans of professional American sports are either going to love or hate this episode but make no mistake, we are making the world a better place, once again. Jason and Anthony go through a dozen of the worst-named teams in pro sports and give them a naming makeover. You always wondered why the Lakers and Jazz kept their lame names that were tied in to previous home cities or what the hell is a guardian?? Well, imagine living in a sports universe that included a little bit of Tampa Smoke, Hollywood Elite, L.A. Aftershock, and St. Louis Arch Enemies! We also kick off the episode with a round of America's favorite game, "Who Sucks More" and ask why the likes of Chelsea Handler and Tenacious D are "Still in My Life??!"
We're back with a tighly packed episode featuring THREE rounds of America's favorite game, "Who Sucks More?" where we ask the question about people who collect shit and people sell shit. Meanwhile, we have something to say about those people who stand outside for 13 hours to watch the NFL Draft.
We kick it off with some (outdated) NFL draft takes, followed by a sponsor getting called out and put on notice. Why is April Fool's Day still in my life? and finiching up with the Mount Rushmore of Moustaches, featuring Fred Goldman!
To celebrate our 200th episode, and kick off our next 100 episodes, we're doing a crossover celebration with the Mix Tape Mafia's 100th episode, reflecting on some of the breatest bits and music from the past 300 episodes in Bean Bag Studios.
We take a long (but distinguished) dive into the gluttony that is season 6 of Love is Blind, with our trademark comedy gold and C&C takes on all the hot messes from the Charlotte season. We've also got a new sponsor to Bean Bag Studios... the Tushy! And we've shoehorned in some "If We Ran it," some "Get Your Ass Back on Track," some "Why are you still in my life?," and a compelling traffic-related round of America's favorite game... Who Sucks More?
It's been said by many that when C&C comes up with a great idea, the world takes notice and generational innovation usually follows. This episode is all that and a bag of chips. Hang with us through some great sports Hall of Fame debate and some exceptional ways we would change and improve all Halls of Fame in sports. Our penultimate take may be the best - a new proposal to fix the calendar, with the invention of "Leaptober."
Jason's youngest offspring, Colby, joins the boys of C&C for a Star Wars fantasy draft, where we pick rosters of heroes, villains, droids, creatures, planets, and space ships. Get ready to nerd out!
Disclaimer: This episode was recorded BEFORE the Patriots FIRED Bill Belichick and hired Jerod Mayo. Because there are obviously alternate timelines in the universse, we hopped into the DeLorian and the Flux Podcassiter took us to one.
Legos? Cabbage Patch Dolls? Easy-Bake Oven? Which legendary toys will get chosen in our C&C Christmas Toys Fantasy Draft? Jason and Anthony welcome in returning guest podders 2-N Jenn and her daughter Tori to the studio. Plus, the interim producer who's calling in live from "the field." Who will draft the best roster? Listen and find out!
It's holiday time and we're tossing the new NBA In-Season Tournmanet into America's Favorite Game, "Who Sucks More?" We've also got some quick NFl takes and give the "Why are you still in my life?" business to a few of our ex-80's characters.
Life's curve balls have caused a little hiatus but gobster nation calls and we're back in studio!
It's an action-packed epsiode with some great airport stories, including a game of "Who Sucks More?" for dudes in the VIP lounge. We dive into some NFL and Bill Belichick, as well as why we hate fantasy football in this week's "Shit We Care Too Much About." Pais, Pais, and the interim producer.
It's a signature C&C fantasy draft with Pais, Pais, Tori, and the interim producer. We are each drafting a 5-movie roster consisting of a time travel movie, a rom com, an alien movie, an original theme song movie, and a flex.
We suffered a tragic technical and creative loss in Bean Bag Studios during the great coconut water incident of 2023. Long-story short, we lost a couple recorded episodes that we had in the can after the death of our primary BBS laptop/hard drive and iCloud misfire. But HAVE NO FEAR, Gobster Nation... we are professionals and we are here to bring you a quick cliffs notes version of the comedy gold that was lost on those epsisodes. So enjoy a nice, compact 20 minute recap episode of the "Lost Recordings" before we get our asses back on track with the new studio equipment as we head toward 200...
After a few weeks of mourning, Jason is finally ready to dive into the ruins record-breaking season flaming out in round 1, which leads to some classic C&C discussion about the problem that is the road-team advantage in both the NHL and the NBA. We discuss the replay changes we'd make as Czar of sports and Pete Davidson gets the treatment of "Why are you still in my life?"
The success of the new MLB pitch clock has us theorizing what other sports and elements of life in general could be massively improved (if we ran it) by adding timers and penalties. Also, some ig NHL playoff predictions (spoiler alert: we're picking the B's)
In this week's episode, Anthony recounts his recent jaunt through Jason's hometown where he had some chowder and lobster ravioli in Boston's North End. Jason goes on a rant about how lobster ravioli always comes up way too short in the lobster department. Then Jason dreams about Lamar Jackson coming to the Patriots and his Bruins winning the Stanley Cup. We play a few rounds of America's favorite game, "Who Sucks More?" including one about dudes on an airplane that Anthony forgets we already played out once before!
As we prep for the debut of the fourth and final season of HBO's Succession, we decided to do a death pool draft, C&C style, picking two rosters of the all the potential characters who could eat it on Succession. First prize, of course, is a bottle of VCR. You want to know what second prize is? Second prize is 6-pack of PBR. Third prize is you're fired.
It's a super bowl preview for Anthony's Eagles! We also talk about the Bruins and the remarkable 2015 NHL Draft. Then we reveal some of the crazy new pro bowl games, including some of the lesser known games that didn't make air on the braodcast, but we have them for you on C&C, thanks to a secret fax from commisioner Roger Goodell. We also talk about what constitutes a "supergroup" and discuss the new nominees for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and we scratch our heads over why these acts are considered Rock & Roll, let alone, hall of famers. It's a jam-packed old school Cheesesteak & Chowder!
It's our annual discussion and quick picks of the entire NFL playoffs. Some gloating of Anthony's first seeded Eagles, and Jason has to bring up his NHL-leading Bruins. Then of course, some business getting for The Addams Family... once again. AND... a very big announcement in the BBS universe!
It's an old school C&C holiday episode as we brag about our first place sports teams, exchange gifts and reflect on 2022.
C&C hits the links and the strip in Vegas! We're in studio for a mega recap of our JP50 trip to Vegas, including special cutaways to some live pod segments from the mile high club with Jewel, Reflection Bay at Lake Las Vegas, and the Foundation Room atop the Mandalay Bay Hotel.
Have no fear - C&C is here to get the world spinning back on its proper axis... aka, give some actual objective analysis to why Top Gun: Maverick wasn't actually that good. We also recap other summer happenings and celebrate the start of football season with some pumpkin beer!
It's the lost Spring Sessions as we relocated to the new Bean Bag Studios 3.0. We've got a roll of Necco wafers and some airplane editions of Who Sucks More? amount other things as we roll on a soft launch for the upcoming Grand Opening.
It's a quick, action-packed 24-minute helping of C&C where we discuss the newest stupid competition shows like Domino Masters and Is It Cake? Then we share with the listeners a few of the lesser known new shows that you may not have heard about yet. Plus, a quick douchebag round of America's favorite game, "Who Sucks More?"
Disclaimer: This incredibly entertaining episode was taped just before the Super Bowl, at the beginning of the Olympics, after Jason's bout with the 19, before Kevin James choked on a rubber biscuit, and smack in the middle of Wordle-mania!
It's another session of casting couch - America's second favorite game, where we recast a current day reboot of some of our favorite childhood TV shows. Today we tackle Night Court and Who's the Boss. But before we get there, we have a few hot takes on football, some shout-outs, including Andy Cohen for preaching about the REAL Journey!
Inspired (or uninspired) by Jimmy Kimmel and Norman Lear's casting in their recent Facts of Life/Different Strokes reboots, we decided to do our own recasting of a few of our favorite old sitcoms, as if they were rebooted today for some ridiculous live performance with random actors who were too old or completely miscast for the parts. We bring you a NEW cast for Three's Company, Gilligan's Island, Happy Days, and Cheers! In our version of this game, we take all the allowable C&C liberties and talk through which actors of today, regardless of age, would make up super fun casts for these reboots.
It's a bonus holiday/football episode! We play a round of America's Favorite game, "Who Sucks More?" and ask why ugly Christmas sweaters are still in my life. And what's the difference or the best (or worst) among white elephants, yankee swaps, and secret Santas? And why are these a thing? Then some sports takes and a bunch of ways we'd make the NFL better in a classic "If We Ran It."
As we tend to do, we rambled long so we split out holiday episode into two parts. Here's part 2, where we ask the questions of why the Sex and the City gals are still in my life? (along with adults playing teens on 70's sitcom remakes). Some debate about family size vs. party size vs. king size vs. super size, and an "If we ran it" about how we would organize things if we ran the National Snacks Classification Commission (NSCC). We discuss the Mac Jones era and Jason eats a tiny bit of crow for welcoming Bill Belichick back into his life. After a little discussion of the current states of Boston and Philly sports teams, and an on-air reveal of the new Bean Bag Studios cards that Santa left in our stockings, Anthony calls himself out in this week's "Get your ass back on track."
Thanksgiving stories, B.O. vs. T.O. (taco odor), and all kinds of bitching and moaning about the holiday season. We cut it into two parts because it went so long so here is the first 40 minutes.
We put up the Scram signal and Jason can't hold back his excitement over the start of the Mac Jones era (and the end of the Scram Newton era) for his beloved Patriots. We take a bite off the Shaq-a-Roni pizza pie when Shaquille O'Neal endorses C&C. Upon discovery of "Swimply," the VRBO-style swimming pool rental app, we workshop our own new "shitty" ideas including "Uber Johns" and "Uber Jacks." And why is the McRib still in my life?
We've got 99 reasons why the Olympics would be better if we were in charge! By 99, we mean a few, but who's counting. I don't know, but I know who's NOT counting... Olympic Cyclists. Let's get to it...
Does a salad have to have greens to call itself a salad? We discuss the shortcomings of starch slathered in mayonnaise, an impromptu stud envy cherry-picking fantasy draft, and a whole lot more!
You've heard of famous athletes whose names suit their job perfectly - like basketball's Tim Duncan, football's Joey Goodspeed, or professional poker player Chris Moneymaker. Well, in this episode we give you a few of the lesser-known folks that belong to that club... aka, the "Willy Waveman All-Stars." Also, why is the Noid back in my life???
We ponder questions about shoehorns, starbucks stoppers, why Godzilla is still in my life, the world's best jackets, and a visit to the Pappy's Products test kitchen.
Jason and Anthony are joined by interim producer Hunter, as they put together their respective Mt. Rushmores for "hometown d-bags," aka, the guys from each of their hometowns (Boston, Philly, and NYC) who they hated to root for, but had to because they played for their favorite teams. Then Jason takes issue with the fact that curly fries never come unseasoned, we wonder why Punky Brewster is back in our lives, and we gently dip our toes into the Dr. Seuss cancel culture discussion.
With the NFL season wrapping up, and hockey and basketball underway, Jason, Anthony, and Hunter talk lots of NFL, ask "Why are you still in my life?" about Bill Belichick and Ken Jeong, play America's favorite game, "Who Sucks More?" along with some new surprise games. And they wrap things up with the inaugural inductees into the "Sean Salt Hall of Fame," the shrine to honor the trendiest of marketing terms and food product buzz words.
We're outdoors on the Villa Papagna post-election and mid-pandemic, pontificating on why Jake from State Farm is still in our lives, a visit with the grammar police, a round of America's favorite game, "Who Sucks More?" and take-committed Jason in a losing argument with Anthony and Hunter about the ironic misfortunes of private plane clientele having to deal with hairdo-destroying wind gusts and pelting rain on the tarmac while commonfolk peasants enjoy the modern amenities of the jetway. And throughout the pod, the studio dog may or may not have channeled Andy Dufresne and burrowed her way out of the backyard prison.
We return to the outdoor studio on the Villa Papagna for "Cheopardy," our Cheesesteak & Chowder tribute to Alex Trebek. Jason and Anthony are joined by interim producer Hunter, to play a game of Jeopardy-style questions with special Bean Bag Studios categories.
The pandemic drags on, but we've had enough. Zoom fatigue and lack of life fatigue has reached its limit and we decided it was time to get back into the outdoor studio, so we're 6 feet apart in the Villa Papagna and life sort of feels right again. Some old fashioned Cheesesteak & Chowder is on tap with chit chat about the return of sports, some people who need to get their ass back on track and the future dark lord between the pipes for the Bruins... Darth Vladar.
A full-blown Tomdemic has broken out with the news that Tom Brady will be leaving the Pats. We discuss in full, along with some commiserating over the shutdown of the sports world.
BAD AUDIO ALERT: due to coronavirus quarantining, we sound like we are underwater, since we were forced to scramble and record from some JV call recording app on our iphones. Apologies in advance...
We decided to finish off the year with some old school Cheesesteak & Chowder. There's a dash of hijinks, a pinch of chicanery, a full scoop of Anthony's high hopes for his 9-7 Eagles, and a bowlful of Jason's panic over his "doomed" 12-4 Patriots, as we prepare for the NFL Playoffs. Cheers!
It's been a while since we bitched about our sports teams, so we're throwing it back to the O.G. C&C to open the show. That parlays into some fresh takes on the problems with officiating and instant replay (7:20). Then it's the return of America's favorite game - "Who Sucks More?" - and this week features movie sequels and a deluxe edition of "-paloozas, -gates, and -gasms" (23:05). Anthony then dives us into a little street name knowledge clouding among highways, freeways, boulevards, and more (35:40). We do a quick take on how much money we won't be wasting on Disney+ and other new streaming services (41:53). Finally, we wrap up with a brand new bracket showdown game that pits Flo, Mayhem, and all the cheesiest Insurance commercial mascots against each other, leaving C&C to judge the best and the worst (48:04).
It's a Mix Tape Mafia and Cheesesteak & Chowder crossover episode with our Eddie Money (RIP) tribute and an extended "New Music Monday". We take some issue and theorize the genesis of the new Charcoal toothpaste trend that's sweeping the shelves. And with the recent discovery of Celebrity Amazon Shops, we start planning the items for the ultimate C&C Amazon shop. And speaking of Amazon, Alexa Quivers 2.0 makers her return to the studio, sitting in the producer's chair and offering zero help...
It's the debut of our new "Shit We Missed" segment as we revisit some undiscussed nuggets from the Top Gun podcast (3:40). Anthony digs into a "Shit we care too much about" rant on resetting his coffee-machine clock after power outages. (18:45). We discuss the news of the upcoming real-life Field of Dreams and apply our expertise in "If We Ran It" (20:15). We discuss and debate who we'd most like to run into driving the drink cart on a golf course (25:35). Jason asks why the notary public is still in my life? (30:25) which launches a magnificent new C&C business idea... the Ubery Public. We then dive into some new rules regarding restaurant signs on freeway exits (34:25). Jason revisits the Banana Splits to discuss the new upcoming movie that turns the splits into murderers (41:34). Finally, Jason calls out his dog Biscuit to "Get Your Ass back on Track" for her crazy peeing tactics (45:33).
We celebrate, dissect, and critique one of our favorite summer movies from our youth - Top Gun!! It's a cheesy, glorious romp through Miramar... C&C style!! We'll dig into the best call signs, the Mt. Rushmore of one-liners, and bring in the Mix Tape Mafia to discuss the best and worst tunes from the Top Gun soundtrack. Of course, some movie elements end up victims of "Why are you still in my life?" We speculate about what we've seen in the trailer for the 2020 Top Gun: Maverick sequel, and toss out our own suggestions in a special "If We Ran It." And gobs and gobs more... So strap into your silver doves, oil up your volleyball abs, and get ready to crash and burn in a great ball of fire!
The Juice is 72, out of the clink, and tweeting from the links. We play a new game called "OJ Did It" where we try to guess if a tweet is a (blood) red herring or an actual tweet from OJ. Jason calls out Panera for its bread bowl soups and we dig into the mail bag to read an interesting "potentially authentic email" that reflects the powerful influence of the C&C universe.
Lots of ice cream talk this episode - fresh off some recent trips to New England, Jason dives into the Jimmies vs. Sprinkles debate and why are Dippin' Dots still in my life? We play a game of Paisopoly... sifting through some of the promotionally branded monopoly games out there and trying to guess what the Boardwalk and Park Place properties are for each of them.
We pull some summer sci-fi movie franchises into America's favorite game of "Who Sucks More?" and call in the grammar police on short notice. Anthony calls out The Fast & the Furious and asks "why are they still in my life?" and we offer up some good sports takes and suggestions. Also... we wrap up with a quick rundown of our US Open fantasy draft.
We kick things off with some live podding from the PNC Arena where we took in the debut of the Hurricanes "throwback" Hartford Whalers sweaters, complete with "Brass Bonanza" pumping over the PA as they threw down with Jason's Boston Bruins. Later in the summit lodge, interim producer @theHunterGames brings us some eerily familiar beer in Pappy's Products and we discuss a few wraps to 2018 and upcoming thoughts for 2019.
It's a quick, mini-episode for Halloween and we're in the spirit with our fan-voted prime costumes, Hall & Oates, C&C style, one on one and making your dreams come true! Jason recaps the joys of the Red Sox winning another World Series while Anthony and producer @HunterGames just have to sit and take it. We also premiere the first behind the curtain test run of the C&C video feed. Cheers!
We dig into the gmail bag this week in the long-awaited return of "potentially authentic emails" including one from loyal listener Vlad P. in the CCCP (8:02). Reese's gets a call out this week (12:22) and we discuss surprise parties and gender reveal parties in this week's "Why R U Still in My Life?" (18:35). We bring you another edition of our fall TV pitch sessions - C&C style (27:09) where we run through a list of upcoming new TV shows by title, and try to predict what the premise should be. Then we dip into an offshoot game of "Revive, Remake, Reject" where Jason gives Anthony a variety of old TV shows and he has to guess if they are getting "Revived" with the old cast, "Remade" with a new cast, or if they are "Rejects" aka, Jason's red herrings. Enjoy the TV theme songs in this segment as well. And last but not least, be sure to stay to the end when we throw it to our Russian correspondents in the field, Smirnoff & Stroganoff (1:00:06) who give us a live Pappy's Products review of the new "budweiser blends" orange and grapefruit beverages, live from the links.
It's our first episode from Pappy's new pad, aka "Bean Bag Studios," with genuine imported live concert hall reverb. We reflect on the death of the Olympics, whether or not teams should be called "Worlds Champions" and one of Jason's favorite bands gets called out for an atrocious album that nobody knew about. AND... we present our C&C movie towns Mt. Rushmore - i.e. the best flicks set in Boston and Philly respectively... with a twist!
Nothing sexy to see here, just some old fashioned, raw, down home podding. Oh... and the discovery of Rob Binaca.
It's the debut of our new sexy digital sidekick, Alexa Quivers behind the glass! Will she add anything of value to the podcast? Listen and find out. Mountain Dew gets called out and we preview our next fantasy draft and our upcoming 100th epsiode!
We finally made it to Paisan's - our namesake ristorante! The fine paisans at Paisan's welcomed us like family as we broke bread and podded live from the end of the bar like Norm and Cliff. This special on-location episode has a bit of everything, including some NHL playoffs talk (Jason wonders why Claude Julien is still in his life?), an imagining of Johnny Cochran on Twitter during the OJ Trial, a Mt. Rushmore of Italian food and of course us stuffing our faces with some of the best cuisine, cannoli and chianti this side of the Mason-Dixon line. Cin cin!
It didn't take long for us to get the draft pack back in studio to pump out a sequel to our Rock Super Groups Fantasy Draft. The follow-up? -- we put on our TV Network Executive hats this time and draft our all-time prime time lineup, followed, of course, by hearty debate over who's "roster" has the best comedies, dramas, reality shows, late-night and yes, even game shows! But before we get to the draft goodness (complete with theme songs!) at the (22:40) mark, we serve up a little appetizer beforehand with the Good Thins sequel in Pappy's Products along with a couple sides of "Why are You Still in My LIfe?" #powerhouse
It's finally here! The mega-pod we've been teasing you with for a while now. We are joined in-studio by our pals Keith, Randall and Ryan to take part in our ultimate rock & roll fantasy draft. We went 6 rounds to assemble our dream bands and ended up with a lineup of 5 "Super Groups" that would make Woodstock look like your local county fair concert. Dial in, enjoy the ride and see who you think drafts the best band. It's a feast of Cheesesteak, Chowder, Creole, Collards, Dirty Water Dogs and a little Original NY Style Pizza... #GeddyUp!
