Dr. Padgham grew up in Guthrie America on a small family farm south of town where my family has had a presence since shortly after the land run. After graduating from Guthrie HS in 1998 he headed off to college for 8 years to become an Optometrist. He didn’t really have the intention to come back home, but a great opportunity arose to join the wonderful team at Guthrie Vision Source. He is now a co-owner of this practice and a proud owner of one of our lovely downtown historic buildings. Along the way he married the loveliest of human beings, Haley, and they started a family in 2005 with the arrival of their first child. God put on their hearts to foster and adopt children, and what a ride it has been. They never have a dull moment with 9 children! They are currently active with Community Church here in GuthrieAmerica. Right now he is loving spending time in the youth ministry known as Catalyst. He has the best time leading the students on Mission trips and watching God do amazing things. He is so glad to be in his home town with a whole lot of people that love doing life together.

Ronnie grew up in Guthrie and graduated from Guthrie High School in 1991. He received his Bachelors degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1996 and his Master of Divinity from Brite Divinity School at TCU in 1999. Growing up he had a significant interest in youth ministry, serving in both Cashion and Fort Worth. After being ordained, he continued his passion for youth as an Associate Minister in Disciple churches in both Odessa and Waco, Texas. Realizing his love for ministering to the whole family, he became the Senior Minister for FCC El Reno for 10 years. He is excited to now be at his home church in Guthrie, where he was ordained on January 9, 2000. Jesslyn Spells is in her 5th year of teaching. She is originally from Lawton, Oklahoma, is mom to a Boxer Lab Mix named Lucy, and currently teaches middle school for Oklahoma City Public Schools. She has worked with children since she was 12 years old. She has taught at Title 1 schools her entire career and did teach through the COVID-19 pandemic. Spells is passionate about public schools and the value they add to our communities. She believes in the importance of schools partnering with families to educate students. A strong quality that she carries is her ability to build relationships with students.
Through the years Ms. Spells has worked with children from ages 4 through 18, most of her work however has been concentrated with adolescents. She spent an entire summer in college traveling the United States for her university to work at various camps to get as much experience as possible with different groups of teenagers.
Ms. Spells holds a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Social Studies Education and a master’s degree in Educational, School, and Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Student Learning and Wellbeing. She was recognized as the News 9 teacher of the day and the KOCO 5 News and Quail Creek Bank’s April Teacher of the Month in 2021.
Ms. Spells loves getting to know people and serving others. One thing she really enjoys is helping teachers, both new and experienced, with classroom management and identifying individual problems and coming up with solutions.

My name is Denae Phipps and I am in my 9th year as a Newcomer EL (English Learners) teacher working with students who are new to the country at a low-income High School. I recently celebrated my 10 year anniversary with my husband, Tyler, and we have a very active toddler who always keeps us on our toes.
We were foster parents for 6 years and had 13 placements before switching to an adoptive home and changing gears a little bit. Being a teacher to students with traumatic backgrounds and caring for children in foster care encouraged me to pursue a master’s degree in Trauma-Informed Education so that I could better serve my students and my community.Being a teacher is so much more than a single subject, it’s building relationships, providing safe spaces, and encouraging progress every step of the way.

My name is Jeri Mick! I’ve been married to Scott Mick for 22 years this past July and we have 2 kiddos, Bryant (15) and Blakelee (10). Guthrie was home for 18 years before moving back to Enid, which is where Scott and I both grew up and graduated from. We moved back this past June and are so glad to be home. Once a Bluejay, always a Bluejay! This school year will begin my 18th year teaching, with 13 of those years here in Guthrie. I’ve been a school librarian as well as a classroom teacher and this year will be my third year to teach 3rd grade at Fogarty. God has blessed me and my family through the good, the bad, and the ugly and His grace is everything to me!

My entire childhood was spent growing up in Guthrie. I made art almost that entire time, and I still do today. I moved away from Guthrie after college, but I still make it back for the occasional special event and school reunion, where I enjoy throwing candy in the parade at anyone in sight!

Born in Guthrie in 1967, went to Guthrie public schools, graduated in 1985, played football, and ran track. Went to college at Oklahoma Christian University. Graduated in 1991 with a history/pre-law degree with a minor in Physical Education. Ran track for 4 years, 5 times all-American. Assistant coached for one year at the University. Coach track, basketball, and football. Worked in various jobs and now remodel houses. Love Guthrie, Married my wife of 32 years in 1991, and have 4 children. 2 boys in the military, a daughter, and a 13 year old son. Rest if my life is yet to come. GOD has plans for me.

Rachel Condley has a bachelor's and master's degree from Oklahoma State University in Nutritional Sciences and is a Registered Dietitian. She worked in private consulting for 15 years. Then she was at Keystone Food Service for 5 1/2 years- first as a child nutritionist, then in sales and marketing, and then as vice president of operations before coming to Our Daily Bread. She started there in January 2021. Her husband Seth and she have four kids, ages 20, 17, 15, and 12. Their oldest attends the University of Arkansas, and their three boys are in Stillwater Public Schools. They love doing life in Stillwater!

For episode 1 we sit down with Alane Zannotti.
Alane grew up in Stillwater and graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in family relations/child development. She moved away for almost 10 years and came back to Stillwater in 2005 to fundraise for her alma mater. While working for the OSU Foundation, she opened up Zannotti's Wine Bar in Downtown Stillwater in 2008. In 2009, Alane took a position with Meridian Technology Center in Extension Education/Community Development. She sold her half of Zannotti's in 2014 and continues to be active in the community serving on various boards and committees. Alane loves Stillwater and appreciates the opportunity to be back living in the community she grew up in.
Les Thomas Sr. is the host of the StillwaterAmerica Podcast. Les is a retired veteran and Oklahoma Native. He honorably served in the United States Air Force for 20 years as the Lead Travel Pay Accountant amongst other high-level duties and responsibilities. During that time, he served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Les made a career outside of the military as a notable music artist, traveling as a motivational speaker, and being a staple in his community. He has been writing, creating, and producing music since 2003. In 2011, he embarked on a solo career and released 3 albums, two of which charted on iTunes. He’s been featured in three of the top five Hip Hop magazines; The Source, Hype Magazine, and Urban magazine. His final album “Vertical” and first book entitled, “Three Levels of Influence” will be released later this year in 2022. During football and basketball seasons, you can catch Les on the microphone at Oklahoma State University games hyping up as many as 60,000 people. He takes great pride in helping fans have a great game day experience. Prior to being the voice of the game day experience, Les led pre-game chapel with the Football team. He delivered encouraging and motivational messages that helped set the mental stage for the players.

Maggie Clark started her career in insurance with Great Cornerstone Life & Health in August 2004. She joined the Gallagher Benefit Services Oklahoma branch office where her primary job responsibilities included management and organization of the Voluntary Benefits Division. Ryan has been in ministry for over 2 decades. He began full-time ministry in 1999 while earning his degree in Organizational Leadership from Vanguard University. He is a leadership junkie and loves the learning process. One of his favorite moments is meeting the great Zig Ziggler in September of 2006. Ryan loves to travel and speak around the nation and the world.

At first glance, one might not envision this former Air Force Staff Sergeant as a soul singer – no afro blowing in the wind and no “tortured genius” look. He does, however, have his own unique vibe - an unsuspecting and compassionate demeanor that produces a sound that draws you in.
