Elon Musk has been working on a brain-machine interface called Neuralink. Brain-machine interfaces could be the promising step forward that humans need to help correct neurological disorders and to ultimately – complete symbiosis with A.I. Implementation of Neuralink would essentially be both a hardware and software update of our ‘biological’ computers. The hardware update comes in the form of a neural processor (Neuralink ASIC) and extremely thin polymer threads to collect data about neural activity. The software update will give us powerful machine learning algorithms and a much better information system. Elon responded to me on Twitter, confirming that we will be able to stream music directly to our brain from Neuralink - but it goes deeper than that.

Parler – the exploding free speech social media app has quickly risen on the app stores, now sitting at #60 in the Top Free Apps on the iOS app store. Quickly reaching 1.5 million users, the platform is proving to be a strong competitor to Facebook, Twitter, and Reddit. So yes, while Parler is claiming to be a “free speech” platform, that does not mean that they do not also have rules and guidelines that users have to follow. It is understandable that there needs to be some sort of policy to mitigate harassment – otherwise the iOS App Store and Google Play store may have conflicting policies. There is still an important issues with this in that the employees of Parler are still governing without any input from the users. A potential solution to this – which I’ve stated multiple times – is a voting system where users can vote on the rules and features of the platform. Just like Twitter, Facebook, Google – Parler is privately owned. They’ve done a great job creating a platform that could be a model for the future of social media platforms. I’ve been highly critical of the structure of governance of platforms that have this much influence over the propagation of information – all while I still understand that these companies have the right to do business. An Open Source Platform May Actually Be The Future If Parler were to adopt a more open-source model where users can contribute to the source code – doing bug fixes and building new features – then the entire user base can vote on any updates to the platform. I’m sure the current ownership of Parler would be reluctant to give up the power that they’ve just now obtained in the past few weeks of explosive growth.

The social media app Parler has recently exploded as Twitter users have begun migrating to the platform. Recently Twitter has been harshly criticized for: banning users’ accounts under their somewhat vague policies on suspending accounts, censoring Tweets from (most notably) president Donald Trump and other high profile conservative individuals, and attempting to add a fact checking feature which to many people feels like a serious infringement on free speech. By comparison, Twitter’s monthly active user base is about to same size as the population of the United States – about 329.8 million (https://www.census.gov/popclock/). Parler is a step in the right direction. My brother and I just recently launched an online drop shipping head shop called ogheadshop.com. Here's my 2 cents on why I think we're gonna kill the CBD market and why we went the drop shipping route.
Can't wait to talk about this 10 podcasts down the road when this all plays out.
We've got brand ambassadors lined up on Instagram and we're using some of the best method for drop shipping out there. I successfully graduated from UNC Asheville with a BS in Computer Science! One of my goals in terms of working after college is being able to work remotely, and for myself. I secured an interview with my first potential client and I talk about it in this podcast.
