A short solo bass meditation on the widely used tune that I know best as "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star".
A reduced version of my reduction of Dvorak's New World Symphony. This focuses on the second movement but doubling some parts and adding a role for kit drums.
A remix of my Dvorak inspired composition with some of the faster sections slowed down and one extended repeat dropped to keep to a similar overall running time.
This is an arrangement of music based on Dvorak's Ninth (New World) Symphony for a relatively low-level concert band. That involves a lot of cuts, some simplification and, at certain points, some fresh composition inspired by Dvorak's masterpiece and reflections on the subsequent 100+ years of US history since he first penned it.
This is a remix of one of the tracks from my RPM2021 album with real drums courtesy of the talented Mr George Nicholson (https://soundcloud.com/shortnoticejazz)
Inspired by working on a low vocal part for an online choir I am singing with (Cantus Veritas), I decided to take a portion of my vocal takes as the raw material to produce a concluding track for my RPM2021 project.
A song built on a D major hexatonic scale, reflecting the gradual relaxing of lockdown in England the confusion many experience about the 'rule of six'.
Twenty minutes of restringing my bass and giving it a clean with a little helping from various FX to turn it into an abstract soundscape. Hat tip to Bill Vencil (Chords of Orion on YouTube) who set me thinking on these lines with a recent video of his:

My first track for the 2021 RPM challenge. Four tracks of bass, all run through my Helix LT, and a software drummer from Logic.
Not your average easy listening Christmas tune. I'm in the process of lining up contributions to a base version of Silent Night and heard this wonderful cacophony!
Bass part composed and played by me to add to Lina's arrangement of Amazing Grace (for discussion on Scott's Bass Lessons)
Improvised bass later chopped up and rearranged to provide (slightly) more coherent composition.
Bass improvisation over a background of crowd chatter, supported by an electronic drummer (courtesy of Logic Pro)
First cut of my first track for RPM2020, responding to Fairport Convention's lyrics for the folk song Reynardine, a foxy rake both bold and sly.
Two tracks recorded on a bluesy old guitar - the soundboard is bowed and cracked and it can't manage to hold in tune for the extent of the track but, for this piece, that is just the thing.
An early experiment with Ableton Live, built round a live chordal bass loop with rhythm and a randomised lead. Not everything joins up perfectly but it serves as an initial sketch.
