Hey, have you ever been sitting around wishing that you had a tasty savory breakfast? One that could be done real quickly, and not make to much of mess? After seeing a friends post about bacon, I was yearning for something salty and savory myself.
Rather then thaw out a pound of bacon, I opted for something a little different. Hard Salami. Yup. Cooked and crispy salami, and crispy cheese. I was only cooking for myself, and didn't really want to make a big mess.
I had some large (circumference wise) sliced salami, so I sliced them up like a pie, so they'd be easier to handle once they were cooked up in the eggs.
Toss the salami in a pan, and let it cook up until it's crispy, I like to flip them over so both sides get cooked and crispified. Next grab a hunk of Colby-Jack cheese sliced up. It doesn't have to be exact, as it's only sliced up to make the melting a little easier. Rather then use milk, I'm going to add some ranch dressing to the eggs, and whip them up. Pour the eggs mix into the pan, and evenly toss the cheese in too. As the pan is hot, you'll not want to let it stay like this long, as we're not making an omelet, we're going for scrambled eggs, with a crispy cheesy crispy salami mess. Note the golden color to the cheese, as it's gotten crispy. If you've not turned the heat down on this by now, NOW would be a good time. You might want to let it sit after you've flipped the eggs to get both sides of the mess crispy. Slide the mess onto your plate, add some hot sauce if wanted, and enjoy! Do you have some quick and simple meal ideas? I'd love to hear about them!
I don't like Twizzlers, and they're not Licorice, and neither are red vines. But I'd take black licorice over Twizzlers.
Then there's the Red Hots vs Hot Tamale's debate... but that's for another day...
I'm sure you've noticed the high cost of razors and blades. I'm sure that you've also noticed that the razors don't last very long too. That's due to oxidization of the blades. One easy way to keep the oxidization from happening is to use Vegetable Cooking spray on the blades after you're done, and they've had a few mins to dry. This helps keep the air from the metal and reduces the amount of corrosion.
Simple and nifty, eh?
You got any money saving tips that you'd like to share?
This recipe ought to meet or beat your expectations of what Cracker Barrel serves. :) There are other variations of this on line, that call for two pounds of Hash Browns, and they call for Cream of Chicken Soup. - I was raised a few years of my life as a Vegetarian, and have no problems with a meal that it meatless. But in my humble opinion, a nice ham steak with some biscuits and veggies would round this meal out nicely.
1 lbs Frozen Hash Browns
1/4 cup Butter, melted maybe a little less.
1 (10 1/4 ounce) can Cream of Mushroom Soup
1/2 pint French Onion Dip.
1 Medium Onion, peeled and chopped
2 cups Grated Cheese, Colby Jack Mix Mostly for mixing into the dish. I like to top it with some Cheddar. The Grated 8 oz packages of cheese are two cups, FWIW.
A few good Dash's of Salt and Pepper
1.Preheat oven to 350°F and use your favorite treatment to grease an 11 x 14 baking dish with something to make it easier to get crusty stuff off of the pan. I like Butter, myself.
I like to melt the butter in the dish on the stove, that covers the greasing of the pan job. Then add the chopped onion, Can of Soup, and French Onion Dip. Then mix in the Hash Browns, and cheese. Save some of the cheese to top the dish the last 10 or 15 mins prior to being done. OR, use some extra Cheddar Cheese. I think that the more cheese there is the better.
Mix the above ingredients together, place in prepared pan and bake
for 45 minutes or until brown on top.ENJOY!!!
You can't put to much cheese on anything

Wow, it's been over a year since I've posted anything here. Yea, I'm doing the Naval er, Navel gazing thing. I enjoying blogging, but I can't do it by force, nor am I any kind of an accomplished writer. But I do have random thoughts, and think that maybe I ought to post them. I also might do a little more on my other blogs, but we'll see. I've got to put in time with studies for new Certs, and push my geek career along with said certs. And no, these certs don't have any retsyn in them. But do hope they still give me a breath of fresh air, or something like it. :P

Google's "Edison" DoodleAhh, I missed out on the fact that yesterday Feb 11, was Thomas Alva Edison's Birthday. So, I'm posting this here, on the bog to be abandoned, As a fond Farewell. Google reminded me of the fact with their fancy little doodle, something that I like. If you happen to find yourself here, on Randomized Radio's Randomized Ramblings... Please, Go to http://www/lakewoodloon.com and check out my More Ohio, Local centered blog. It's still me posting over there... Just trying something slightly new. I've got the same voices in my head, so if you liked hearing from them here, you'll still here them over there..
Welp, here's the shot of the same spot of the previous shot. Not really impressive, but what the heck. It's certainly cooler looking. Nothing exciting really.
And here's some really long icicles. There's a lot of them building up. One of the neater looking, and dangerous things, that winter has to offer..
“Whether the eave-drops fall Heard only in the trances of the blast, Or if the secret ministry of frost Shall hang them up in silent icicles, Quietly shining to the quiet moon.” -Samuel Taylor Coleridge
FYI, I'll be pulling the plug, or rather, not updating, this blog come this weekend, Feb 12th, 2011 and updating things over on my new blog, Lakewood Loon... http://www.lakewoodloon.com/
Thanks, and I will be adding more interesting things to it, and trying to build it's "Karma" vs this one.
Thanks,
Randy
This is the place I'm headed to for Wed. I'll shoot one from there Thur with the current weather status. - I was just thinking that I was missing spring and fall. And why is it that we seem to only get a little of those two seasons and almost 6 months of summer and 6 months out of winter?
A change in the weather is sufficient to recreate the world and ourselves.

I'm still trying to decide if I want to keep the Randomized site up, or just move to the site LakewoodLoon.com that I picked up. I guess the "daily" posts could be:
Loon Views?
Loon with a View?
Loony Views?
Looner Shot?
Daily Loony?
Suggestions?
I don't know about you. But I remember MapQuest, and Yahoo Maps, and how badly they sucked. They really did. Then came Google Maps. Simple and to the point. And they just keep getting better. If you're looking for something in your area, or planning a trip, Google Maps is the way to go. They behave a little different, then some of the other online mapping sites, but being able to move the route around, and find reviews for places you're likely to stop at is most helpful.
You can also pick Walking, Bus, or Car as a mode for getting somewhere, and the travel time to expect.
One of my favorite places to go grab a quick bite to eat with my wife is Two Dads Diner. - The food is good, the price is right, and the help is friendly. I've never had an issue with their food or service. But then, I might be having to much fun to notice any issues. - That should say something, eh? They've got a breakfast special from 7-9 am where you can grab a meal for $2.99. Sorta makes the Fast Food places pale when you get right down to it.
Life expectancy would grow by leaps and bounds if green vegetables smelled as good as bacon. ~Doug Larson
Where's some of the favorite places You like to eat?

While I was unloading this morning in Maple Heights, OH.I saw a shot that I wanted to take. I don't always get a chance to get them. Today I did. :) I really like these old buildings. To be more exact, I like the old brick structures around the Cleveland, Ohio area. I grew up out west. Very few 100 year old brick buildings out there...
People's personalities, like buildings, have various facades, some pleasant to view, some not.

Way to many cars out there in the ditches these past few days. - Didn't look recent. But still, it has to suck.
Happiness is not a station you arrive at, but a manner of traveling.
- Margaret Lee Runbeck
This is simply another picture that I took this past weekend at the Emerald Neck Marina. I've not been in the building... maybe we'll have to remedy that one day soon. :)
As I've mentioned in the previous post, another blogger already has a good local photo niche blog going on. I had thought that I could do something similar to theirs. But besides lacking their talent, and eye. I don't think that that I can. Also for me to consider, I might not be in town when it's light outside. So, I'm going to try and get one done each day while I'm on the road, if I don't have a local shot handy. Granted, I'm still going to be a Lakewood-iean (?) but I'll be doing what I can do, with what I have. :)
Besides, I need to try and exercise some of the philosophic wisdom that I've heard that says we need to be happy with what we DO HAVE. Rather then un-happy with what we don't.
Happiness is not having what you want. It is wanting what you have.

Well it Seems that uploading it the way that I did from a Tweet, and from the phone didn't have quite the results that I had hoped. - That's alright. I now know what not to do. - Also... What a cruddy shot. LOL... Oh well.

Looks like someone has got a really GOOD Daily Picture blog for Lakewood. - AND they're taking GREAT pictures. - While I don't want to compete with them, and I doubt that I could at their level, I'll keep trying to do my Daily Random Picture, as the pic that I post might not be from Lakewood, but wherever I am out and about. Like the next one that I'll post. :)
You'll have to check out the link below to view their blog and pictures. :)

I was on Twitter this past Saturday Morning, messaging a fellow trucker (@darkstaff) back and forth about online business's. He says that IF I find one that's legit, he's "in". :) With this post, I'm going to try and go over what little I know about online business. This is mainly what I've learned over the past year since I got re-serious about how to create one, and try to get out of the truck.
Is it alright if I re-wind my thoughts a little to when I first bought a computer? - I thought, WOW, if I only had a computer, I could work at home. That was back in the 80's.
Guess what? From what I've seen, it's going to take some work and initiative to make something worthwhile happen online.
I'm not sure if I'm the best person to talk to about an online business. Well, at least I'm not one to tout that I'm making loads of money. I'm not. Not yet. But I'd like to. I think that I'm starting to find my grove a little, and not let the false starts get me down as much. I'm Picking through some of what's here online that I think is worthy for me to work on, vs what is not.
A person is going to have to figure some of that out for themselves. You're going to HAVE to provide some kind of service, or product that people want. And you're going to have to find where these people are, and what it is that you can offer them, if you're going to provide it. IF you're providing it, they're your customer or client. Depending on how you see yourself or business.
Now, let's assume that you're an Over The Road Trucker. You've got a good internet connection that covers 90% of the U.S. due to the fact that you've spent some money on a Sprint Mobile Broadband Network, and own one of their devices. Forget AT&T and Verizion they pale in comparison on a national level, but that's another story. And you've also ponied up for a Smart Phone.
But that's all that you've got. You've got an Internet connection and you've got time to fiddle around online from time to time. Some weeks are going to be better then others, it's Trucking. And if freight is slow, you're not making any dough. Ok, so let's see what you do have.
A Computer with an Internet connection
A Desire to do something legal online to make a buck.
You're have a basic understanding on how to "copy and paste" code on a web site or a blog.
And lastly, You're going to need a desire to help those that come to you, and be available.
What don't you have?
A product or a service.
How about a Product? I guess you could try to make jewelry or something else in your down time and sell it on eBay. But then you're going to have to be able to take each item that you make and post it there, then you're going to have to be able to send them off.
Hmm... So, Maybe that's not such a good one.
How about a service? There's plenty of options there. Plenty of them. I'm sorting through some of them myself. But the terms that you'll run across that will prove valuable to you is Internet Marketing, and Affiliate Marketing.
Affiliate Marketing Or Internet Marketing is typically a revenue sharing venture between a website owner and an online merchant. The website owner (an over the road trucker, in this case) will place advertisements on his website or blog to either help sell the merchant's products or to send potential customers to the merchant's website, all in exchange for a share of the profits.
In short, you're promoting someone else's product or service. That's the Service that you provide. A Good practice is to have some knowledge about what it is that you're promoting. First hand experience about something you've used, or done.Part of the problem that I've seen, and other decent Internet Marketers have seen and have to contend with, is that some individuals have abused Affiliate marketing. They've taken a lazy approach by promoting sites and products via Spam, or other unsavory methods (Twitter, Facebook, etc). There IS no Automatic Button to push to create a "long term, proud to tell your momma about it" method. It's going to take some effort. And some cash. Now what do you do? One of the more popular Affiliate sites is Clickbank.com - You can join their site for free, and pick a product for free that you want to promote. As far as I know, all of their products are digital products, such as a PDF files, or even a Subliminal MP3 site. You can create your own blog in a niche helping those in that niche, and have something there to promote that makes you some money. Let's say Legos are something that you like. - Find some way to promote the use of them, that makes a profit for you. Create some models, and make some PDF's of the unigue models or creations that you've made.
Promote services such as:
AWebber.com (Yes, I AM an Affiliate)
socialoomph.com. (Not an affiliate Yet)
Hostgator.com
The above are easy to join and put a link on your site. You can chat them up, or possibly put one link a day in a tweet. But I wouldn't promote anything via twitter with more then one or two tweets a day. Remember, if you've got a small audience on twitter, they're going to see it over and over. And it's going to get old if you're saying the same thing over and over.
And of course, I've got to talk about Chris Farrell, and his site, as it is something that I like to promote. His 1 page Web Business will take some time to view and understand. Like AWebber, it's a subscription, so if other's join via your link, you'll see a re-occurring monthly income. Maybe you want to check it out and see his videos with this link, he explains how he created a one page web business. And yes, it takes a little time, effort, and a couple of bucks. But you'll be duplicating what you've seen and joined. Chris offers unlimited web hosting with his site and services, so you can create and host a multitude of sites if you so desire.
I'd also like to mention Jason Fladlien and his 32 Free Reports. You can join his site, and offer others' the same reports that they might find useful or interesting. If others do purchase a product from Jason, you'll receive a small commission.
You can also build a mailing list with AWebber advertising Clickbank products on Facebook. - You'll hear "The Money Is in the List". - This mailing list, is your customer list. This is where you build your trust, and provide offers.
And lastly, maybe you might just want to build a blog that is interesting. Check out ProBlogger, and BlogTyrant for blogging tips, that are well worth your time.
Let me leave you with a link to a blog post and video that Darren Rowse made concerning "Secrets to Making Money Online".
I was playing around with my software effects with this one, cropped it, and gave it a little extra color. It sorta reminds me of the old over colored photo's from the 50's. The sun was setting, and I didn't have much light. But that brings out the street lamps and such. The shots that I took were more of an after thought, then planned. Wish I had a camera that could truly zoom, etc.... One day one day..

Just in case you were wondering, The Daily Random Shot's 5 numbers indicate the Julian Day and year. Not the photo number, or the number of Random Daily shot's taken. I guess that I'm fairly safe in just using the last two digits for the end of the year, as I don't expect that I'll be around in 2111 posting these things. If I am. I'll certainly be surprised. I forgot to add the year to the previous posts, so I'll start with this one. :)
This is sort of near our apartment, but it's a winter view of Lakewood Park. (Lakewood, Ohio) I guess that I need to start taking pictures when I'm out and about, if I'm going to get serious about posting on a daily basis. :) Granted, they're only going to be from my phone, as I'm not a professional photographer. But WOULD find that line of work rather interesting. :)

I'm going to try and post a daily random shot from the road, or from around my town. As I'm not always in my truck. And there are other pictures from my local area that you might like to see. This is the first. :) This picture will also be shared or on @TachoBlog's VFTC or weekly Views From The Cab. The Cabs are the Cab's of trucks from around the world. Well, it looks like one of my MOST favorite Authors Nathan Lowell and his book, "Owner's Share" helped melt down Podiobooks.com's server last week. If ever there was a bittersweet sentence, that one is it. But it pointed out a problem with their server. I'm really hoping that like a Phoenix, from the ashes of the old server and business that a new business and server will rise and shine. Only time will tell.
If you're a fan of their site, you can go to http://community.podiobooks.com/ and use their paypal link to donate to their cause. Also, don't forget to donate to the Author's, as they'll benefit from it too.
