In this Rewind epsiode, listen in as Tammy reminds us of The Power of Surrender.

Typically, surrender is perceived as negative…weakness, giving in to the enemy, allowing someone to take control of you, however reflect on the following quote from Deepak Chopra, “Surrender is faith that the power of Love can accomplish anything even when you cannot foresee the outcome."

Let's embrace the act of surrendering to fully embrace our vision, dreams, the big picture.....no matter what the outcome!

Three years. Two attorneys. Thousands of dollars. All to protect a name and everything it represents.

In this episode of The Messy Mind, Tammy shares the behind-the-scenes journey of securing a trademark that wasn’t “just a formality,” but a business move rooted in ownership, protection, and long-term vision.

If you’re a consultant, trainer, coach, or creator putting your knowledge out into the world, such as:

  • You’ve created templates, courses, or frameworks but haven’t protected them
  • You’re ready to grow your brand, launch products, or license your content
  • You want to stop giving away your brilliance for free
  • You’re tired of “doing the work” and ready to own it

This episode is your wakeup call!

Consulting is great. But owning what you consult on? That’s how you build real freedom.

NOTE: when I referred to payments, I meant to my attorneys! 😀

Tammy is here to tell you this loud and clear: your new system won’t save you. Not if your people are confused, disengaged, or clinging to the old way of working. A colleague recently told her: “The system is getting all the attention. No one’s focused on the people.” And she’s right. And trust Tammy (who has been in the system transformation industry since 1999), the cracks are showing now and will continue to. They won't stop showing up at go-live. The cracks grow even deeper after, especially when: - Adoption stalls - Morale drops - Leaders don’t know how to lead the change In this new episode, Tammy shares: 1️⃣Why most transformations fail quietly 2️⃣What Big 4 firms often miss (based on what she's witnessed during my 20+ years of system implementation experience) 3️⃣How to build lasting adoption and not just launch the system Read it now, and if you’re planning a transformation, don’t wait to ignore the cracks or realize what’s missing until after go-live.

If you’re leading a transformation and want it to succeed beyond go-live, contact Tammy at tldavis@nexlevelconsultingllc.com.

This one is for the Black and Brown women holding it all together; building businesses, raising babies, and still pushing forward, even when the world makes it harder than it should be.

In this powerful rewind episode, Tammy revisits a conversation that remains just as necessary now as when she first aired it.

It’s her thoughts of two women, Meghan Markle and Whitney Wolfe Hurd with similar dreams, grit, talents, supportive husbands, and growing families.

But the way the world greets them? Couldn’t be more different.

Tammy gets real about:

  • The double standards in business, visibility, and “worthiness”
  • The emotional toll of constantly proving ourselves just to be seen as equal
  • The burden of showing up everywhere, whether at the table, in the home, online, in the office, without ever feeling truly safe
  • Why acknowledging this reality isn’t divisive; it’s liberating

And to the women who aren’t Black or Brown, please know this episode is also for you.

Not because this is your story, but because listening deeply is part of doing better. Understanding the layered experiences of the women beside you is how we build real community, real equity, and real connection.

This isn’t about blame. It’s about truth. And if you’ve ever said, “I want to be an ally,” this is your chance to start by listening, I mean really listening.

Tune in. Let it sit. Share it. These are the stories that shape the world we say we want.

In this last episode of the mompreneur series, Tammy wants to shift your mindset on the word surrender. Surrender is perceived as negative. Someone who surrenders may be seen as weak, giving in to the enemy, allowing someone to take control of you. Yet, what if we were to take the word surrender and become empowered by it? As Mompreneurs, we are juggling quite a bit and at times, not in our favor, but what if we were to embrace another action to support us? Listen in as Tammy breaks down what surrender can be if you're willing to shift your mindset and focus on what matters.

I had the opportunity to chat with Mr. Rob Wilson, Financial Advisor, Personal Finance Expert, Author of Secure the Bag (http://www.securethebag.me), Speaker and, of course, TV/Radio Contributor… who has been very busy over the last several weeks appearing on local TV, national TV and radio platforms.

I initially wanted to discuss legacy and generational wealth with Rob, but given the current state of affairs, I wanted to talk about things we can do, in this very moment, to get our financial houses in order!

Listen in as Rob breaks down the financial world as we see it today, how it will play out in the near future and what we can do to prepare if the financial outlook ever turned bleak again!

Be sure to follow Rob on all social media platforms: @RobWilsonTV.

In this episode, I was blessed to speak with Arlan Hamilton, Founder and Managing Partner of Backstage Capital and author of "It's About Damn Time" : https://www.itsaboutdamntime.com/

Backstage Capital (https://backstagecapital.com) is a venture capital firm who, to date, has invested over $7M in more than 120 companies led by underrepresented founders.

Arlan is someone who I admire greatly and serves as an amazing example of grit, determination, perseverance and of course, inspiration for me and so many others. I was selected to be on her book launch team and when the opportunity came for podcast hosts to interview her, I jumped at the chance!

Listen in as we discuss Arlan's background, her journey, golden nuggets of knowledge/wisdom contained in the book and what we as entrepreneurs can do NOW in our current state of affairs.

I broke all podcasting rules on this episode! No editing, no filters, no 2nd recordings, no do-overs and a TON of fillers. Just real talk about the thoughts swirling through my head when I think about my wellness and beauty professionals!

As a follow up to my LinkedIn post on 4/13/2020, I've been thinking about my wellness, health and beauty professionals. I've been wondering if they are thinking about their people, processes and systems/technology to handle the influx of new and existing clients as soon as the stay @ home orders are removed.

Listen in as I ask thought provoking questions which can only answered with ACTION. These are the thoughts and questions swirling in my head and may spark a level of creative thinking to support your efforts.

Always consult your accountant, lawyer or professional advisor before executing on your efforts or any information related to a change in your lifestyle, business or finances.

I'm not a beauty professional nor have a worked in the industry. I'm just a bonafide "pamper-myself" junkie who loves a great massage, haircut and eyebrow waxing who can't wait to sit in the chair or lay on the table again!

I'm also an entrepreneur who LOVES supporting businesses, especially small businesses to thrive!

As individuals, we have been so conditioned to believe the only way we can operate is within parameters that have been set forth for ourselves WHEN we become empowered, and yet we don’t understand we have everything we need. Being empowered is a knowing; truly believing you have everything you need to execute your goals and operate within your vision.

We often struggle to go outside of the limitations we have placed on ourselves. Empowerment is about helping people change how they think about themselves, so they can operate and think about what they can and cannot do.

Empowerment has more depth than people realize as they say the word.

There are 4 aspects to empowerment:

  1. Empowerment is the freedom to BE you!

  2. Confidence is the first pillar to being empowered.

  3. Stretching or going beyond the limitations you have set for yourself is a viable way to BEING more empowered.

  4. Understanding… truly knowing and believing you are more than the parameters you have set around yourself.

Here is the link to the Backstage Tour 2020 (https://backstagecapital.com/tour2020/) where I will finally get to meet Ms. Hamilton in DC!

In the episode, I was completely off on the numbers for Backstage Capital. Backstage Capital has invested over $7M in more than 120 companies led by underrepresented founders. Go Mrs. Hamilton!
