Cinema SitDown is doing a deep dive into the film’s of Martin Scorsese. For their second featured film, the fellas are reviewing Goodfellas; the story of Henry Hill and his life in the mob, covering his relationship with his wife Karen Hill and his mob partners Jimmy Conway and Tommy DeVito in the Italian-American crime syndicate. The film stars Ray Liotta, Joe Pesci, and Robert DeNiro giving some of the best performances of their careers.
Next week, the fellas will be back to look at Scorsese’s 2002 film Gangs of New York .

Episode 110 of the LaF podcast has our hosts previewing three major releases coming out in theaters around the country on January 8. This movie is based on the true story of a pastor's journey back into the world of pro wrestling in the hopes of raising enough money to save his church. Everything old is new again, with the remake of Point Break. The film is loosely based on the 1991 action classic that starred Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze. This time Edgar Ramirez and Luke Bracey journey to find the perfect wave. For the comedy fans, Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg star in Daddy's Home as a father and step-father fighting for the affection of two children during the holiday season. Lastly, The Big Short goes into wide release this weekend. The film stars Christian Bale, Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, and Brad Pitt as a group of investors who foresaw the housing crisis of 2007, and positioned themselves to make millions off of it. Written by Alan Bennett, the play focuses on the effect two teachers have on a group of students who are preparing to take the most important exam of their lives. Halloween horror fans have two options this weekend. Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension is the sixth and (supposed) final film in the series. The L-Train lets you know if this series will stay dead. Lastly, Vin Diesel stars in The Last Witch Hunter in another attempt to have a successful action film that is not centered around driving cars fast. Teenagers will be flocking to theaters to see Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, the latest adapted young adult novel set in a dystopian future(basically another rip-off of Hunger Games). This film picks up directly after the last film, as a group of teenagers have finally escaped the dreaded Maze only to find a new set of even greater obstacles now stand in the way of their freedom. Lastly, opening only on IMAX screens, is Everest starring Jake Gyllenhall, Keira Knightley, and Josh Brolin as mountain climbers in for the worst day of their lives. The movie follows Riley, a young girl, as she moves to San Francisco and has to deal with a new city, house, school. The twist is that the film goes inside her head to show her emotions Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust, and Sadness as individual characters. Also opening is the teen comedy Dope starring Shameik Moore and Tony Revolori. The film follows Malcolm and his friends as they go all over Los Angeles after an underground party goes badly and leaves them with a backpack full of drugs. At the end of show, Mr. Two-Frames pays up for losing the Spring Box Office challenge.
