He is a dedicated member of the Engler program and thoroughly enjoys being on the UNl rodeo team. "Ever since I was little in pigtails I wanted to own a business downtown. I wanted to have a place where people could come together." He is an involved student here on campus in multiple activties besides Engler including the Farmhouse Fraternity, NHRI mentoring, and the Newman Center. He recently started selling Cornhusker Hats as a competition with Brennan in the 201 class. This was mainly to get students to see how easy it is to just start a business, but now Kade has sold multiple hats! "She always encouraged me to just go for it and invited me to make mistakes." Abby's Great Grandmother instilled in her a love for baking and most of all, encouraged mistakes in the kitchen. Although they had no prior bakery experience, Andrew & Alix Ambriz bought Sehnert’s Bakery during the pandemic. Sehnert’s Bakery has lived the motto “something familiar with a twist” for 500 years and the couple’s vision for years to come is full of life.
“When things happen in that bakery whether its a concert or a wedding reception or people reconnecting after 20 years, there’s some residual magic from those conversations and those events that creep into the corners of the building. And that’s what we want to bottle up and accentuate and bring into every aspect of the business in hopes that it can continue to spill out into the rest of the community,” says Andrew.

Paul Engler was an entrepreneur from the start. At age 12, he purchased his first set of cattle without money or permission. What was the response? Find out in this episode; but without such a moment, the Engler Entrepreneurship Program may not have been born. That moment fueled the fire in Paul's belly.
“I believe so deeply in what we’re capable of; we were given this spark. And we can either choose to fuel it or we can choose to suppress it," says Director Tom Field.
Tom is the first to say that he didn't know what he was doing when he said "yes" to the title of Engler Director. But today he says, “Get the resistance out of your head, get the thing out of your way that’s stopping you from doing what you were created to do because the resistance only shows up when you’re about to do something noble. If you have resistance in your life, lean into it. You’ve just been handed a gift. You’ve been pulled where the path is. If you’ve got resistance you’re on the right path.”

I've always been told 'Oh if you don't know what you want to do, that's okay. You don't have to know,'" says Engler Entrepreneur, Cheyenne Gerlach.
"And for me, I've known since I was 15. I've always known I want to work with international agriculture. I want to fight hunger."
