It’s the final countdown – Tadada - dada”…..

For our final RACING WORLD podcast for 2020, we review and attempt to choose our best moments of racing over the past - oh so convoluted, oh so complicated, oh so very much a pain in the rear, oh so thanks for nothing 2020.

Well, at least a couple of us do.

In any case, agree with us or disagree, share our opinions or not, we thank you for listening and watching these past 24 shows and finish the year with show #25.

Given a fair wind, assuming we are still talking with each other, and IF we can somehow get a sponsor or partner to join with us and provide some funding, we will be returning sometime in the New Year.

In the meantime, stay safe, have a very good Christmas and a healthy New Year

Nearly Christmas but that does not stop us from a good old fashion sit down and chat on Motorsport.  We cover off the second to last F1 event of the season and look at George Russells arrival, driver movements in IndyCar for 2021, the local scene and applaud Motorsport in general for all the y did in 2020 and the part they played in aiding the COVID recovery.

Yes, all a bit disjointed but we got there in the end! An exciting time for Liam as he prepares for his 3 day Formula 2 test, then rushes back to NZ for Christmas. Also we talk SI Formula 1600 and the debut of NZ Kartsport Champion Jacob Douglas, a quick look at F2 & Marcus Armstrong and of course THAT incident over the weekend in Bahrain. In episode # 21 we have HAYDEN PADDON on Zoom …. Err … what …. no we don’t.

Hayden was ready and kindly waiting at the other end, and we would have talked with him if the Zoom machine worked, … but it didn’t - due apparently to an overnight Zoom software download thingamajig, oh yes, and the front door blew open due to a sudden rainstorm while we were recording.

But we soldiered on, almost seamlessly, looking back a remarkable Jacks Ridge event (and have small rant), the entertaining F1 GP at Istanbul (and have a bigger rant) and the Toyota Racing Series 2021 (and have a BIG rant).

Other stuff too.

BATHURST 1000 WEEKEND.

Arguably one of the biggest weekends in Australasian sport but certainly ranking at the top end of the motorsport calendar.

Once again the ‘Editor at Large’ of Auto Action magazine – labelled ‘Australia’s #1 Motor Racing read since 1971’ – Mark Fogarty - joins the discussion to add his unique perspective on the coming weekend.

He still has a dodgy internet connection but with his laconic style, who could tell?

We also talk Formula 1 and the Nurburgring (of course we disagree) and skid briefly, but gracefully, over MotoGP and NASCAR.

This is Racing World for another week enjoy

Racing World is back for show 15 already and another weekly round up of Motorsport.

There is a  bit of a rant, D’Arcy with a silly hat (temporarily thankfully), a look at F1, a deeper look at IndyCar and the championship battle facing Scott Dixon, and what do we / you make of the twin Honda announcements? Let us know send us a comment.  Departing one series (in the name and aim of being carbon neutral apparently – yeah right) and an extended participation confirmed for another - errrrr … still carbon neutral then??

It's another great show from D'Arcy, David and Bob.

Described by his own magazine, Australia’s ‘Auto Action’ as a “normally pessimistic pundit” the most knowledgeable and well informed journalist (with occasional spoonsful of cynicism and wit, together with a healthy dollop of political comment) within the Australian V8 Supercars community joins the podcast via Zoom.

‘FOGES’ is his name.

Perhaps the C-19 in Melbourne has also infected the Wi-Fi connection as the connection occasionally drops away but MARK FOGARTY bravely soldiers on giving his perspective around Scott McLaughlin, Fabian Coulthard and more.

D’Arcy, and the camera, have a ride with Emma Gilmour at the amazing Battle Jack’s Ridge course (he laughs a lot!) - plus we argue, comment, discuss and basically skid over all sorts of other stuff.
