Fred discusses the concept of responding on both a relative and absolute level, emphasizing the importance of recognizing and accepting the reality of situations. Suffering is often a result of resisting the reality of a situation and holding onto the belief that things should be different. He shares his personal experience of trauma, emphasizing that suffering can be a friend if it brings awareness to the fact that one is resisting reality. He encourages the listener to accept what is, and to interpret experiences from a non-dual perspective, rather than seeing oneself as a separate individual. I always say that the one thing I MUST have from a client or student who shows up for an Awakening Session if we are going to be successful is the willingness to tell ourselves the truth. What do I really mean by that?
Do you ever read about someone else's awakening and feel like you're positively INADEQUATE--like somehow YOUR pitiful little awakening just ISN'T cutting the mustard??? Yeah, me too. :-)
A group of people got together to investigate and experience truth. Here's what happened.
The last meditation I put up cut out at 7 minutes so I deleted it and am replacing it with this one. This is also available as a video on YouTube.
What is that you don't want to let go of that you HAVE to let go of if you're going to make further spiritual progress?
We use terms that are relatively skillful that are not absolutely true. "Liberation" is one of those. Let's investigate.
Don't just listen. Do the meditation. That thing you have to do that's so important is not really so important at all. This is.
I will mark these meditations with a yin yang logo instead of the alpha omega logo so that you can easily distinquish between the two. In this meditation, identify with the space surrounding the body instead of the body itself.
This "mantra" is something you can use throughout the day to remind yourself of Truth. Frequency is more important than duration in these things, so even a short look like this is effective.
This podcast discusses different levels of awakening, different experiences in the dream and their validity, or lack thereof, and about 40 other things.
Can we simultaneously strive for goals and practice authentic spirituality? Not so much. Can we hold intentions? You bet!
