The Secrets of Life

In The Secrets of Life; Dr. Don will bring you challenging
and thought-provoking information on a number of various related topics. His
goal is to help you discover more about yourself and about others. In doing
so you will learn how to change those unwanted behaviors that may be holding
you back from being the best you, that you can be in life.

Dr. Don has always had a passion for understanding people, our behaviors,
why we do the things we do, and why it is often so difficult to change our
unwanted behaviors.

Dr. Don completed a 21-year career in law enforcement, in a jurisdiction
with a population of 700,000. Seventeen of those years he served as a
criminal investigator. His areas of investigative specialties were mainly
focused on specific crimes, such as Armed Robbery and Kidnapping and later
he moved into investigating Domestic Violence and Spousal Abuse.

As a speaker, he has provided local and regional presentations and training
programs for organizations such as the U.S. Department of Justice and the
Maryland Police, and Correctional Training Commission, as well as, many
other educational and public service organizations. He has served as a
Domestic Violence Program Coordinator for a neighboring county where he had
oversight of the domestic violence prevention and treatment programs and
shelter, as well as, the county’s Child Advocacy Center. He has provided
professional and voluntary community counseling and served as a pastoral
counselor for ten years.

He received his undergraduate degree in Behavioral Sciences and then
completed an MA and Ph.D. in Counseling and Psychology. He currently has a
private practice, (Donald Pfouts & Associates), providing clients with Life
Coaching, Counseling, and Mediation services.
