In response to the "Distortion" weekend challenge, I resurrected my old powernoise project, Leichenfeld. First powernoise track I've written in 20 years. hope you enjoy.

Nord modular drone plus a distorted Electribe ER-1 stomping along. This was probably my first reasonable powernoise song from over 20 years ago.

An old track from back in my powernoise days. Mostly Electribe ER-1 through MOTM 5U modular to create that bonkers rhythmic screech.

First in a series of three techno tracks under 3 minutes long.

Created and performed exclusively on the Roland MC-707. Drum samples from Riemann collection. See a video of this performance here: MC-707 only. See a video of this performance: https://youtu.be/tI7naAace90

This track is meant to accompany an Ignite talk I did about the craft of making a Techno track. So there are bits that sound... weird. That's why. I'll make this into a REAL track soon.

If you like hooks that sound like cats, this is your jam. Mostly presets from Ableton & Serum. Beats by Drumazon.

View Details

Composed real quick basically just using Push 2 and Ableton instrument presets. Definitely not my best thing, but probably my fastest. Thanks Session view and Record to Arrangement! (Not mixed or mastered at all because lazy.)

Stuck in an airport due to weather. Fortunately I had installed Live on my work computer. This is what came out of that. It's all presets, basically, with a little mixing and mastering. It's no masterpiece, but making this helped keep me from getting too annoyed.

OMG melody! Another composition made entirely in Ableton Live Lite. It's really stripped down, so yes it's a challenge.

Took the Tribe up north on its own...

Experimenting with total randomness. Both synth lines are completely random except for pitch. There's a percussive element from the BSP that is totally random except for three hits. Density changes are a result of modifying probability and the amount of randomness. The beat obviously is NOT random. Managed and muted on the Electribe.

View Details

Messing around with sound design on the Electribe. Digging slow sample & hold modulation plus FX on a cross-modulated osc. Added four on the floor because why not?

View Details

Exploring controller mode on the BSP. Didn't touch the Electribe once during this recording. Also exploring the BSPs randomization & probability features. Big fan! (Watch your sub on this one.)

(Sadly, the Electribe is very clicky... this was not an EG issue; it's a bug.)

Stumbled upon a super cheesy trance hook. Checked my dignity at the door and went with it. Beatstep Pro sequenced the baseline and zaps, all other sequencing was the Electribe. All sounds from the Electribe. No multitracking.

909, distorted 303, yeah, this is familiar ground. A little clumsy with the BSP on this one. Again, this is the first time I've recorded music in many, many years.

First music I've made in a long, LONG while so mostly crap. Experimenting with fixing the critical flaws of the MC-909 with a BeatStep Pro. Mostly it worked.
