Understanding Jesus' identity is paramount to understanding our identity as His people. We explore the beautiful union of God and Man in Jesus.
Five words, "Creator of Heaven and Earth," have implication for innumerable aspects of our lives. We explore in this sermon how it affects our relationship with the rest of creation.
In this sermon, we discuss why talking about theology matters for our lives, the beauty of the trinity, and how God being The Father makes a world of difference in how we see ourselves and why we're here.
We're starting a new series on the Apostles Creed. The creed starts with two simple words, "I Believe." They may seem simple and common, but they're loaded with meaning for us. How does the "I" point to both our individual ownership and our collective nature? And how does "Believe" remind us of both the gift of faith and the responsibility of living it out? We explore in this message.
This Holy Week, we're talking about Something New. At first glance, a man dying isn't that new. And yet, we know that Jesus' death was a different kind of death. We reflect on the cross and the convergence of old and new in Jesus.
Jesus was not the first one to process into a city to cheers and shouts of adoration, and yet this procession was different than every other one. What makes Jesus a different kind of king and what does that say about us as citizens of His kingdom?

We like to think that we're in complete control of our mind, but experience shows us otherwise. Our thoughts come and go based on what we watch, listen to, and read. But the Gospel of Jesus should influence every aspect of our lives, including our thoughts. How can what we think about reflect Jesus' holiness to the world?
When it comes to holiness, it is easy to focus on external actions, words, etc. However, God cares much more than simply external compliance. Rather he wants to transform our hearts so that out of Holy Hearts, holy living can pour forth. We discuss what this looks like in this message.
The Bible holds up both marriage and singleness as good things. No matter which boat we find ourselves in, our life is designed to be in service to God in all that we do with our bodies and with our life.
Marriage is a gift from God, and is also a picture for us to better understand Jesus' faithfulness towards us. In this message, we explore the role of husbands an wives in reflecting God's love and the Church's role in supporting and upholding marriage in our community.
As we begin moving into spheres of our human lives, we focus in on the roles of parents and children and how they reflect God's loving posture and actions toward us. How can we as the Church support these important roles of parents and children in our congregation and in our homes?
Having been made Holy by Jesus, we now are called to live out that reality. However, this is not always easy and can often put us in a battle between our new self in Jesus and our sinful nature. In this sermon, we talk about the battle for holiness.
God has made us holy and enables us to live out that reality. But what He's looking for is not behavioral change but rather transformation. In this message, we discuss how our future reality and God's past action help us understand our present call to holiness.
In Christianity, we read, say, and sing the world "Holy" quite often, but what does that world really mean? If it's so central to the Christian life, what does it look like, and how does it intersect with grace? We discuss in this sermon.
We close out this series by coming back to three fundamental truths. God hears, God is good, and God is faithful.

Because water is essential to life, places where people could get water, like wells, were essential places for relationships and interactions. We look at two different women at two different wells in Scripture and the interactions which follow. In doing so, we get a chance to see how our relationship with Jesus affects our relationship with others.
After rising, Jesus appears to the disciples and ascends to heaven. This helps set the stage for the mission that He gives to His church. What do these events tell us about our role in that mission?
When God says something, he means it. When he promises something, he keeps it. We look at God's faithfulness to Joseph, Jacob, and to us.

Temptation poses a real threat to our relationship with God and with one another. What does the story of Joseph have to say about temptation and how can we flee to Jesus when temptation comes?
We're kicking off a new series looking at the story of Joseph. Joseph's story is one of triumph, but in order to have triumph, there have to be challenges. Joseph's story will begin by highlighting the danger of bitterness, and Joseph will give us a glimpse of one greater who did not grow bitter but chose mercy instead.

We discuss some strong words that James has for those who trust and rely on their wealth instead of the Lord.
Where do we look for wisdom? We might be tempted to look to the wisdom of the world, but today we discuss where true wisdom comes.
The way we speak can do great wonders and great damage. James offers us some caution on how we speak.
Paul says that we are justified by faith, not works. James seems to challenge that. We discuss the relationship between the two in today's service.

Life in a fallen world can sometimes leave us feeling fearful, disillusioned, and out of place. The band, Mercy Me, wrote a song titled: “Homesick.” The song conveyed the biblical reality that we are not yet at home while living on this earth. We will only “come home” in Christ as we anticipate a New Heavens and a New Earth where we will see Jesus face to face. Beginning on Ash Wednesday and concluding on Good Friday, we will look at some of the most famous chapters in the Bible: Isaiah 40-55. The Israelites were exiled away from their home to a foreign land. These rich and prophetic texts will teach us the reality that our identity, meaning, purpose, and significance only finds its fulfillment in Jesus Christ.

If your life was a tower of blocks, how stable would it be? Has progress been steady or stagnant? Have you become what you set out to build? It's time to deconstruct what's awry, and get back to basics. In the book of Titus, like the building blocks of a solid foundation, Paul writes about the core components of a meaningful life. It is essential that we start with the Gospel, that it may shape our identity and actions. Make this new year a renewed year, and start fresh, as we dig into Titus and build true on the solid rock.

Tis the season where we rearrange the living room to put up the Christmas tree, where our favorite hiding spots accumulate gifts for one another, we gather around feasts and the calendar fills up with the activities of the season. Yet for all of the things we do to mark the holiday, we might actually be missing it. It should come as no surprise that pageantry and excess don't lead us to the humility and wonder of the manger. As the old hymn says, "Let every heart, prepare him room." What if we were to leave space in our lives for God to enter into? Join us this Christmas Eve as we gather to treasure our greatest gift, and find fulfillment in the joy of Jesus.

Pastor AJ was not seeking another position, but has been open to the process, and we now invite your prayers for the Mastic family as they consider whether or not God is calling them to confirm their calling to Renewal, or be led to ministry at Pathfinder.

We want you to know if the Lord leads AJ to take the call to Pathfinder, we are still committed to Renewal. AJ has done an excellent job leading the charge at Renewal, but taking on another campus was about being faithful to the vision that the Lord gave our church to best grow the kingdom and was not dependent on any one person. Our hope would be that AJ continues to lead the Renewal campus, but if the Lord thinks otherwise we will move forward with an interim plan while searching for the next leader of the campus.

What do we do when an electronic device is behaving slowly, or glitching, or after installing new software? We reboot it. Just as a computer might need it's memory cleared, or to go back to its core programming, there are times when we need to take a step back, and start fresh. Life has a way of stressing our systems and pushing us to operate in unhealthy ways. We load the "normal" programs of busyness, materialism, self-built identity, comparison, fulfillment through achievement, and the chasing of various idols, and we don't even realize how much they decrease our capacity to live the abundant life that God intends for us. As society emerges from a once-in-a century pandemic, and we rush to get back to "normal," it's worth looking at what parts of "normal" are worth returning to. Join us as we start fresh with the book of Ecclesiastes, bringing much-needed renewal and purpose to our lives with a Gospel reboot!

On December 27th and January 3rd our community will focus on who Jesus is. If we do not believe Jesus is God, we cannot be saved from death because only God can save. If we do not believe that Jesus is man, Jesus can’t identity with our challenges in order to strengthen us. We will unpack how Jesus’ divinity and humanity are central to our salvation and our entire lives. Our hope is in Jesus in 2021.

2020 has brought us many things, which we could neither predict or control. A once-in-a-century pandemic has foisted many hardships upon us; the effects of a world encumbered with sin. Now, as the world longs for this year to end, we fix our eyes toward what will surely be a unique Christmas, and the celebration of a once-in-existence gift; the birth of Jesus. The promise foretold by ancient prophets has come to pass not only for a world long past, but for all people in every time: "For unto us, a child is born." This year, of all years, may our message of joy and hope call all hearts to the one who still overcomes the darkness; our Wonderful Counselor, and Prince of Peace.

The number '40' appears often in God's Word. Noah's Ark endured 40 days of rain, Moses spent 40 days on Mt. Sinai, the Israelites wandered in the desert for 40 years, and Jesus began his earthly ministry with 40 days of fasting. The word "Lent" is derived from a Greek term, which means "Fortieth," and it marks the 40 day period preceding Easter. Lent is a season in which we, in our hearts, enter into the desert with Jesus, denying ourselves, and reflecting, as we journey through the scriptures toward the cross.
