Lebanon County – The Lebanon Transit Authority (LTA) is set to implement significant changes to its bus services across Lebanon County, aiming to adapt to community needs and foster increased ridership. The adjustments come after a thorough local transit study conducted in October 2022 and public input sessions in June 2023, as the LTA responds to the evolving landscape of the county.

In the 2022-2023 period, city ridership reached 45,000, county ridership stood at 32,000, student ridership reached 4,200, and free rides for seniors totaled 55,000. Despite these figures, overall ridership has not rebounded to pre-pandemic levels, prompting the LTA to reassess and improve its services.

Route changes and updates, detailed on the LTA website (https://lebanontransit.org/changes/), are designed to align with areas of recent development in the county. One notable change is the elimination of the casino route, a decision made to streamline services and enhance efficiency.

The adjustments were shaped by valuable insights from a customer survey conducted during the aforementioned study. According to the survey, customers expressed general satisfaction with the bus service, operators, and prices. However, there were concerns about the frequency of weekend services and the absence of night services. The survey also revealed that the majority of riders are working-age adults and older individuals, with half of them having annual incomes below $25,000.

Mike Ritter, who recently joined the LTA, shared how these changes are not just about reconfiguring routes; they reflect the commitment of the LTA to being responsive to the community's development and cultivating new ridership. They want to explore new places and extend their services to meet the needs of the people they serve.

While specifics about the transit study and public input sessions are not available, the LTA encourages residents to visit their website for comprehensive information. Looking ahead, the LTA aspires to expand its services to more areas, including parts of ELCO, providing an even broader coverage for the residents of Lebanon County.

Lately, I've noticed an increasing number of clients sharing messages they've received from scammers claiming that their social media accounts are blocked or that they're receiving various spam emails.Over the years, I've developed an eye for identifying scammers and methods to verify the legitimacy of emails and messages I receive. The most effective way to determine if an email or message is legitimate is to examine its source. With emails, you can always check who the sender is. If the email is from an unaffiliated source, even if it appears legitimate, do not click! Scammers have become adept at designing deceptive emails that mimic authenticity. The same applies to social media. If you visit the profile of the person or organization notifying you that your business is being blocked from social media, do not believe them if you notice that the account is not associated with Facebook, even if it seems otherwise, and do not click on any links they send.Scammers will attempt to deceive you into believing there's an issue with your account and may ask you to take actions that could lead to hacking. It's crucial to avoid this at all costs. So the next time you receive a message from a scammer that appears to be from a legitimate source, take the time to investigate further. Airport lounges are becoming more popular becuase of the complimentary food, drinks, and the opportunity to relax.

There is a problem with this, many of other travelers want the same. What once was a pleassure only select fews could have, has become the destination of millions of travelers who have gained access due to large credit card spending and accumulated points that have given more and more people access to this “elite experience”.

For those who are top frequent flyers and credit card holders, having access to the lounges has become more of a pain than a pleassure, giving companies like Delta Airlines difficulties on how they approach the travel business experience of luxury for their top customers. The meassures from airlines have gone as far as stripping some credit cards with access to the special lounges given the high demand for these over the years.

Delta, United Airlines and American Airlines are racing to build more lounges and spaces and larger ones to fit high demand.

Because of the increased demand now credit card issuers want to make sure they do everything they can to keep their high spending customers happy by providing the best travel experience as one of the perks that come with spending thousands of dollars each year.

Some of the credit card issuers are creating other means by which some of their customers can have a similar experience without having all the special perks that some of the lounges provide.

Welcome to a groundbreaking episode of "City Change Makers"! Today, we're diving deep into a transformative initiative that's not just reimagining Philadelphia's economic landscape but is set to impact thousands of lives in the city. It's all about the 10k Independents Project, a visionary plan that's poised to add 50,000 good jobs to Philadelphia's workforce over the next decade.

In this episode, we explore the core pillars that make up the foundation of the 10k Independents Project. These pillars are not just steps but guiding principles that prioritize the growth and progress of individuals and small businesses within the city. The first pillar, "Inspire new paths to a good career," is all about shifting the narrative from "starting a company" to "creating a sustainable job for yourself." It encourages individuals to explore entrepreneurship as a viable path.

The second pillar, "Move Independents from surviving to thriving," focuses on helping 10,000 Independent workers reach a point of sustainability. Sustainability, in this context, means consistently providing for themselves and their families and investing in their future and community. The project actively curates and connects small business owners with the resources they need to achieve sustainability.

The third pillar, "Prioritize hiring and growth to benefit our neighborhoods and communities in need," aims to help 2,000 of the 10,000 Independents transition to employers. This approach to growth is designed to create a stronger and more equitable business community, serving the citizens of Philadelphia better.

But how does the math add up? The 10k Independents Project breaks down the numbers, celebrating the 8,000 Independents who sustain themselves and estimating that 2,000 will become employers, each potentially hiring an average of 20 employees. This adds up to a grand total of 50,000 jobs – a conservative estimate based on existing data, with immense potential to transform the city's workforce.

We also delve into the economic impact of this project, which is not just about creating jobs but also about cultivating a reasonably-paid, culturally-competent, and local-oriented workforce. This has the potential to empower communities, drive change, and harness the true potential of Philadelphia.

One of the remarkable aspects of this initiative is that it's funded and owned by the community it serves. In 2023, a member-funded professional association will be added to the core of operations, ensuring transparency and voting power for the community members.

To make this initiative even more inspiring, all those behind the 10k Independents Project are Philadelphia-based individuals who are deeply connected to the city and are building their independent businesses. They're not just thinkers; they're doers who have earned the trust of their community through their dedication and contributions.

Join us as we explore the remarkable journey of the 10k Independents Project and learn how this cooperative model aims to put the power of change into the hands of its member-owners. This episode is an invitation to be part of a transformative movement that's shaping the future of Philadelphia. The 10k Independents Project: funded by us, owned by us, and designed for us.

Becoming the President of the United States can have its benefits, and one of them seems to be the potential for boosting business assets due to the prestige associated with the title. In a recent AP News report, it was revealed that a group of executives in the Trump Organization had considered adding a “presidential premium” to enhance the net worth of Donald Trump in financial statements.During the recent court battle between Trump’s attorneys and attorneys from the state of New York, revelations have emerged regarding how a group of executives discussed the idea of using the presidential title to increase the value of some of Trump’s assets. In his testimony, Birney, a former executive of the Trump Organization, indicated that Trump executives began to contemplate a potential “presidential premium” as they sought ways to recover losses incurred from correcting the size of Trump’s 10,996 square-foot Manhattan penthouse, which had been mistakenly valued for years at nearly three times that square footage.Due to the ongoing trial, the Trump Organization appears to be facing difficulties, as the judge in the case has already issued orders for the Trump Organization to cease business operations in New York. This order is currently on hold, pending an appeal by Trump’s attorneys in the case. The concept of a “presidential premium” appears to be adding to the case against Trump and his business, as the case revolves around allegations of business fraud.

The supermarket industry is really dependent on people buying their products, but they need a lot of people for that. Without a proper marketing strategy, they can fail. You see every day there are people looking for a place to buy cheaper products that also meet good standards and a brand like the Ideal Food basket does that for people.

But the issue that some of these brands face is that they do not have an organized system for their marketing. We recently connected with the manager of the supermarket and started working on their digital marketing strategy to help them make more sales.

Do you want to know how we do it? Click here to find out how.

During 2019 a stunning 1.3 percent of all supermarkets in the US went under and that is because they did not invest in creating a marketing machine that is making them hundreds of thousands of dollars and at times even millions.

Supermarkets need to understand that consumer behavior is changing and that they need to be future oriented. There is a new generation of consumers that do not buy groceries like past generations.

New supermarket brands need to implement ecommerce to meet the demand of millennials and Gen Z’s who do not want to go to the grocery store every time they need to buy their groceries.

A digital implementation of campaigns that are running via search engines and social media where potential new customers can find out about them. Traditional methods of advertising can be good if done properly but local businesses need to seek ways where they invest more money in their digital marketing which will increase their sales and therefore make more money.

Ideal Food Basket in Reading, Pennsylvania is doing that, they are investing in their digital media and marketing tactics to increase more exposure.

According to the Shelby Report, 77 percent of consumers referred to advertising material before visiting a supermarket.

Ideal Food Basket located at 733 Lancaster Ave, Reading, PA 19607 is a fresh outlook of the supermarket experience providing their customers with more options than the average supermarket and increasing the number of services their customers can obtain within the store

So after reading this, if you are in the Reading, PA area, pay a visit to Ideal Food Basket and let them show you why shopping there is a good idea.

I believe PR is a tool for me personally, for society and for the communication field as well. For me is a tool because I have used it to advance my own career and gather public support to get things done in my community, for society is a tool because we can use it for positive change and support good social causes and get people behind these causes, and when it comes to scholars, PR is the way people have manipulated the public perception about different topics in society, it would be interesting to figure out the ethics behind PR, how to be more effective at managing people’s perception of things and how technology can help with that.

I have chosen this topic because I would like to understand the impact of PR in a community and what are the ethical ways to properly engage in a PR campaign. Many corporations engage in unethical PR practices and end up misleading a lot of people in the process which I think is not accounted for in society. We have to have a guideline of ethical PR practices and hold accountable those organizations who do not care about the impact of their PR campaigns.

The Pennsylvania Commission for Women, the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP), and the Pennsylvania Legislative Black Caucus (PLBC) hosted a Women in Law Enforcement discussion virtually to showcase women serving in the PSP. The panelists discussed how to recruit and retain women, shared their personal experiences, and highlighted the benefits of this career.

Panelists:

• Lt. Col. Kristal Turner-Childs, Deputy Commissioner of Staff

• Lt. Cara McCree, Advanced Regional Training Section, Bureau of Training and Education

• Sgt. Dawn Carpenter, Recruitment Services Section Supervisor

• Cpl. Danea Durham, Recruitment Services East Unit Supervisor

• Tpr. Kelly Smith, Community Affairs Officer, Office of Community Engagement

“The Pennsylvania Commission for Women is proud to host this discussion with the Pennsylvania State Police and the Pennsylvania Legislative Black Caucus. We recognize that women and people of color are underrepresented in law enforcement across the Commonwealth and throughout the country. We hosted this discussion to address this disparity,” said Commission Executive Director, Moriah Hathaway. “Women currently make up about six percent of the Pennsylvania State Police force and we want this number to increase. The goal of this discussion is to allow women and girls to see themselves reflected in law enforcement and encourage them to consider a career as a State Police Officer.”

"I grew up during the 1950s as a shy child in Lebanon, PA. I remember the thrill of learning to read. In second grade I got my first vocal solo and started piano lessons. From then on, music and words tied for first place in my heart. An awareness of my psychic abilities evolved, but I didn’t talk about it – not even to my family.

During that era, it was unusual for women to work. Since my mother had a job, the other kids’ moms often asked me why. I told them – she’s a nurse; we need nurses. Mom’s open-minded attitude about women’s abilities meant that when my elementary teacher gave me an assignment on a historical figure, I saw the lack of women in history.

After I graduated from Penn State with a BA in music and an MA in humanities, I had many different careers. I was a flight attendant; worked in a variety of bands; did some radio and television; wrote corporate videos; and taught music, speech, and drama.

In my early thirties, my daughter Layla was born, and several years later, my son Gavin. I wanted to be the best parent I could, so I researched other mothers. At the same time, I used my psychic abilities and became known among local and state police departments as I worked quietly on murder cases. After many years, I openly discussed my unusual gifts and starred in an episode of Psychic Witness on the ID channel.

I love to teach, research, write, and at the same time, use my psychic abilities. I find joy in words, walks, and my changing role as a mother of grown children."

"I am your biggest fan… Hailing from Lancaster, Pa, an area known more for its Amish population than music scene, comes Michael Wavves. Bradley Hawkins began his acting career in the early 1990s, starring on stage in lead roles in several plays and musical theater productions, as well as working in commercials, print jobs, television shows, short films, industrials, and feature films throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Hawkins and his young family moved to Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1997 where he taught acting, film studies, and humanities courses at the high school level, and directed several stage productions throughout his 14 years as an educator.

Since retiring from service as a high school teacher, in 2012, Hawkins returned to acting on-camera and branched out as an award-winning indie film director, with his debut comedy short, ROLLER COASTER(earning 30 film festival awards along the way. His second short, the comedy-fantasy, FILLING IN, earned an astonishing 61 awards and 37 nominations from around the world, including Australia, Canada, England, Italy, and Lithuania, as well as at festival screenings throughout 19 states in the USA. Between the two films, Hawkins won 11 awards for his direction, and as a result of his guidance, actors in both films won several awards for their work in them as well. Roller Coaster and Filling In are both now available for streaming on Amazon.

Hawkins is currently in post-production on his third short film, Calf Rope, about a former rodeo champion and cattle auctioneer from Oklahoma that bonds tightly with his young grandson from Pennsylvania during the summer of '66 while teaching him a few tricks from his previous trades. Although the film is still months away from being completed, Calf Rope has already won an award for its tender-hearted screenplay as Best Modern Western at the Wild Bunch Film Festival in Arizona.

Over the past 25 years, Hawkins has studied with some of the best known acting coaches in the country and has developed his own unique coaching/directing style for actors of all ages which he continues to enjoy mentoring and working with today.

Hello! Welcome to Kitty Town Coffee. Kitty Town Coffee was founded by me, Zanetta Kok. I wanted to roast coffee the first time I saw a shiny red coffee roaster sitting in a coffee shop window when I was just 15-years-old. I got the chance after graduating from college when I bought my first popcorn popper from the 1970's off of eBay--the ideal type for roasting coffee.

The inspiration for the cat theme was my first cat, Sydney. She was a stray who came to my doorstep one cold night in October of 2014. The two of us were inseparable right away. As a stray she needed a home, but what I didn't realize at the time was that I needed her more. She taught me to take care of myself by making sure that that I took time to be present with her. Her love kept me sane and gave me the strength to accomplish my personal goals.

In 2016 we adopted Albert. Sydney taught him everything she knew and the two of them completely took over the house. That's when our house got the nickname, Kitty Town. I was starting to make plans to turn my coffee roasting hobby into a business when Sydney passed away suddenly. When I lost her I knew that I had to start Kitty Town for her. Part of our mission as a company is to find ways to partner with and support the efforts of local animal shelters to make sure that special kitties like Sydney can always find a home.

At Kitty Town, we believe in supporting our community and doing things right. We pride ourselves in being a brand that is easy to connect with. We create high quality coffees and offer them at a price that you can afford, because that's the right thing to do.
