What does it mean to find your person among the most unlikely of people? Also, how do you make hot cocoa? Join Bri and Alexa as they close out Season 1 discussing love and connection as the core of friendship with Rebecca Anderson of Gilead Chicago and Bethany Chicago. This is IRL AF, a podcast about real life adult friendships.
Rebecca Anderson is a pastor at two churches in Chicago, one of which she started from scratch. Her biscuits are unparalleled, and she knows the best places to pick juneberries. Outside of her work at Bethany UCC and Gilead Chicago, she is the head honcho of Earshot (EarshotStories.com), running storytelling workshops across the country. If you want to get to know Rebecca, you can find her on Sunday mornings at Bethany, a progressive-traditional church in Ravenswood (BethanyChicago.com), and Sunday evenings at Gilead, a queer storytelling bar church in a Rogers Park bar (GileadChicago.org). She hosts potlucks, plants gardens, and almost certainly wants to have coffee with you.

Lauren Nicholson is a thirty-something year-old who has lived in Chicago for about half of her life. She's known amazing moments and years of friendship as well as the deafening silence of loneliness. She's been surprised and devastated by friendship over and over again, yet she still believes in the overwhelming beauty and necessity of connecting with people.

What’s that they say about working with your friends not feeling like work at all? Join Bri and Alexa (who started as work friends!) as they talk about how friendships develop and become beautiful professional (kinda) partnerships with Gilead Co-Planters/Co-Pastors Vince Amlin and Rebecca Anderson. This is IRL AF, a podcast about real life adult friendships.
Vince Amlin is co-pastor of Bethany UCC, a church that practices open-minded, wholehearted, hands-on faith; and co-planter of Gilead Chicago, just your ordinary queer, storytelling, bar church.

Every sitcom would have you believe that it's nearly impossible to have a close friend of a gender that you're attracted to without things eventually getting messy. Is that true? Is that a bad thing? What even are 'feelings'? Join Bri and Alexa as they talk about friendships that exist in the messy middles with our dear friend, Susan Haarman. This is IRL AF, a podcast about real life adult friendships.
Susan Haarman has worked with college students for almost 15 years. She recently stopped working for Jesus, although both He and her girlfriend claim otherwise. She is a storyteller, an improviser, and an unrepentant nerd. She likes in no particular order 1) really excellent cover songs, 2) over analyzing pop culture, 3) taking naps because she works full time and is also in a doctoral program. She wished Bri had written this bio.
