But true friendship is something to value and appreciate, especially when you are a pastor. Pastors, depending on how they respond to others, can be the best type of friend. But as with any of us, there are red flags that suggest that pastors also have the potential of being the worst friends we can have. This episode looks at several factors to consider both from the pastor's perspective and from those who befriend these men and women of God.

Early in the days of the pandemic, our friend Sherita Childress, a licensed mental health therapist and social worker helped us with tips and tools of self-care back on episode #11.
Six months later, Covid numbers continue to rise and people are struggling with fatigue, anger, and even guilt. Sherita Childress joins us again to encourage pastors, church staff, and all of us in general with hope even during this prolonged time of trouble.

Jo Angelia Waters is the former First Lady of Antioch Baptist Church in San Antonio. She stood by her husband’s side as he fought cancer yet insisted on attending and serving in church.
Nickcole Byrd is an intricate part of the staff at the thriving, fast-paced Higher Dimension church in Houston. She is the one people called to pray for them but her world was shook when suddenly her husband fell ill and passed away.

Each of us were back to serving in some way as soon as we possibly could.

Dr. Maurice Watson, senior pastor of Metropolitan Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. and longtime mentor of this show's host, discusses the significance of a mentoring relationship in the ministry life.
Once the pandemic subsides, what is the plan for your church to resume operations? Among the many areas of concern, there are five specific components of the church that are deserving of attention: worship services, mental and emotional health, office hours and structure, budgeting and sustaining an online presence.
