By developing platform-specific content across all major social platforms, we engage with young Canadians in a way that caters to their existing media consumption habits. Beyond that, we create the tools required for understanding why this information matters and for navigating conversations about hot-button political issues.
We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to share our conversation with Diana Yoon – the 24 year old candidate for the Toronto riding of Spadina Fort York in the upcoming election.
In early August, before the election cycle began, we talked about what inspired her to run, what the actual steps are to run for office, what she thinks are the most important issues for young people this election, and more.

On today's episode, we had the pleasure of speaking with Senator Donna Dasko, who is also one of the founding members of Equal Voice Canada and was its national chair for a number of years. She is a polling industry exec and Senior Fellow at the University of Toronto's Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy.
Senator Dasko took the time to explain how it's really not your grandfather's Senate anymore and demystified the role of the Senate in our political system. We also touch on the recent poll she commissioned taking a look at Canadian perceptions of the Senate, some of the backlash she's received as a result, and how political parties must do a better job at getting more women into elected office.

This wasn’t purely our idea though — we polled our newsletter readers to see what other medium they wanted So What to be on — be it a YouTube channel, an online course, etc. and respondents overwhelmingly said podcast. So, we’re just giving the people what they want.
Our plan for this is to deliver these podcasts on Mondays so you can start your week off on the right foot and braced for what’s to come. This will supplement the daily breakdown of headlines we do each morning on our Instagram story as well as the Friday debrief newsletter we send out covering the week in headlines.
That may sound like a lot, but contrary to what many believe, there’s a lot of stuff going down in Canadian news that you should know about.
