After The Pandemic: Recent Episodes

The COVID 19 pandemic has changed our lives in significant ways. Here at Ben Lomond High, school was dismissed last spring on March 13th. We didn’t know it at the time, but we wouldn’t return to school until August 26th. School has changed for teachers and students in fundamental ways along with many other aspects of our lives.
Here in Utah, universal vaccine eligibility began on March 24th. This is earlier than most states, which is great news. However at the time of this recording, only 16% of the state has been fully vaccinated according to the New York Times, which is behind most states right now.
With this good and bad news, we are finally starting to imagine life after the pandemic. Should we pick up where we left off last March or imagine a new normal?
What lessons have we learned from the pandemic and how should we take them into life after the pandemic? That’s the question that I asked my students, and this is what they said.
