Tremont Temple Baptist Church
Founded in 1839, Tremont Temple Baptist Church received its “temple” name at a time when it was common for Christian churches to be called temples or tabernacles. Many famous people have spoken here, including Abraham Lincoln and Charles Dickens. It is also the first integrated church in America.
Dwight L. Moody called Tremont Temple “America’s Pulpit.” Billy Graham and other famous pastors have preached here often.
When you enter Tremont Temple, you may be impressed by the grandeur of our main hall and sanctuary. We believe it is one of the best kept “secrets” in Boston. Of course, when we talk about how God has blessed our church, we aren’t referring to our building. It’s all about the community of people we have here. And we invite you to join us for worship and the warm fellowship that we enjoy as brothers and sisters in Christ.
