In today's episode we are speaking with Ritika of PracticalBloggers.
Ritika says:
I'm not an extrovert. I went from recovering people pleaser, former shy kid to being known as someone who can "make a dead man talk."
With over 7+ years of Relationship Building experience in Sales working for Technology companies in the Silicon Valley, she has helped businesses earn millions and have served major clients like Eventbrite, Google etc.
"Don't tell anyone your secrets!" they'd say. "Lord forbid, what if they do it better than you?!"
Immigrant communities at large are pretty hush-hush about sharing #hacks. Growing up in Mumbai and Los Angeles, she used to share freely. Apparently, this was a problem, because the competition was REAL.
Her response to such advice led to the creation of my travel + wellness blog in March 2021, Practical Bloggers. Her coaching program, The P.O.I.S.E.D 360 Method, followed suit. Her mission is to enhance your holistic confidence with healthy people skills. Because she believes that restoring the relationship we have with ourselves is central to restoring your interpersonal + community relationships. Our words give us the power to change ourselves.
She also says:
"I've embarrassed myself enough in social settings to be honored to provide for you the tools to start your journey into confidence and reclaim the incredible human being you already are! I've been an international student in India, London, and the United States pivoted my career by obtaining 2 coaching certifications to help you through your transformation. "

Dr. Severine Bryan is a Financial Empowerment Educator who is zealous about
financial literacy. She believes that we begin to solve personal finance problems
when we start with addressing our money mindset. What are the childhood
experiences that trigger how we approach money?
Dr. Sev’s personal motto is “anything is possible with a plan”. After going through
a divorce at age 53 and walking away from the home she owned for 13 years, she
rebuilt her credit from the low 500s to mid-700s. She was able to grow a five-
figure emergency fund and rebuild a negative net worth into six figures in just over
4 years after her divorce. Dr. Sev’s financial rebuild also included paying off $24k
in student loans in under 16 months, post-divorce. If that were not enough, she
completed her doctoral degree at age 56.
The foremost goal for Dr. Sev is to assist as many women as possible to realize
their money superpower and help them walk in financial freedom. Every Sunday at
7:30pm EST, she can be found sharing personal finance tips and tools on her
YouTube channel: Dr. Sev Talks Money. She is a member of the Association for
Financial Counseling and Planning Education® and is currently pursuing the
Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC®) certification.

Mona moved from India 30 years ago after marriage. She came to a brand new country leaving the comfort of her family and friends behind.
She welcomed the change and was eager to begin this new chapter of her life in a very new place with a very different culture.
She spent her first few years in Tucson,Arizona and 4 years later, she and her husband moved to CA, beginning her “baby boom” period as she gave birth to 3 beautiful girls. This was also the period her inlaws moved in with her and she was managing a house, raising her girls ( one of which was special needs)taking care of her in-laws with many medical needs.
7 years later, her husband got a job in Austin and this is where her self-Realization began as her kids getting older and she getting wiser.
Her own life began at 40.
Being an avid fan of physical activity, she got into strength training in Austin and then later taekwondo. Fast forward 13 years, and she is a 4th degree black belt and an instructor at a local martial arts school. She has a daughter with special needs and who has been her inspiration to start a non-profit for kids and young adults with disabilities. She feels lucky to have a very loving and supportive family and all her hardships, if anything, have taught her to understand herself better, be able to self- validate, have a voice, and be able to separate herself from her situations, not placing blame.
Her favourite mantra-“ we are never too late or too old to start something new”.
Loving Hearts For All - An Austin-based South Asian community providing support and opportunity for individuals with disabilities.
This vivacious, cultured and multi-faceted individual grew up in New York City. Her childhood neighborhood in Brooklyn was an ethnic mosaic of Italians, Irish, Russians, Blacks, and Hassidic Jews. Her multicultural heritage and pre-disposed inquisitive nature made it very easy for Claudine to relate to the diverse denizens of her surroundings. Her unique and enviable upbringing has allowed her to become fluent in 5 languages. She will humbly admit, that through music as a child, she taught herself Spanish and Italian, in order to converse with her friend’s parents.
Her intelligence and aptitude in math and science influenced her to study electrical engineering. However, a gifted lifelong performer, who always envisioned a career in entertainment, Claudine could no longer deny her true calling. She vigorously threw herself into the acting world. In addition, to her role in the critically acclaimed, independent Haitian film ‘Pluie d’Espoir’(Rain of Hope), Claudine, can been seen in ‘As Good As Dead’ with British actor Cary Elwes, and in “My Girlfriend’s Back” with CCH Pounder and Malik Yoba, In “Blonde Ambition,” playing Penny Marshall’s lawyer. And shot “Norah’s Hair Salon II,” with Mekhi Phifer and Tatyana Ali. It has been amazing to see how quickly she attains her goals. She co-hosted the red carpet for the 2007 Grammy Awards with world-renowned artist Wyclef Jean and has interviewed notable personalities such as Jay Leno, Dr. Maya Angelou, Haitian President Rene Preval, to name a few. In 2009, she was appointed Vice-President of the Beverly Hills Film Festival.
Her passions also lie in making a difference in the lives of others. In April 2009, she co-hosted an event with US Doctors for Africa (USDFA), to support an unprecedented ‘African First Ladies’ health summit. Her humanitarian efforts in Haiti have enriched the lives of many. Dildora Muzafari was born in the 1950s in Soviet Central Asia and grew up in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
In this episode, she provides an unusual perspective about dislocation and immigration, as well as racism and women's issues.
Her book Sunshine girl, is also the personal story of a girl who grew up in a society where two very different cultures collided - the more modern, secular Soviet one and an ancient, traditional Muslim one - and who simultaneously fit into both and neither. Sunshine Girl follows Ms. Muzafari's struggle to free herself from the social, historical, gender, and racial constraints imposed on her by her society, find her own voice, and reach a place she could truly call home.
Her bold, unique, and passionate voice carries the reader through her odyssey which stretches from Uzbekistan to Ukraine, Russia, East Germany, Hungary, West Germany, and ultimately, Michigan. It also chronicles her great love affair with an East German and the overwhelming political and cultural obstacles the couple overcame to be together.
Sunshine Girl is available on Amazon.
Dildora now lives in Michigan and has multiple businesses including

Education is something she feels passionately about and is a certified English as a Foreign Language teacher. She was also a franchisee and promoter for JEI Learning, an international afterschool program for children, creating customised programs for them in Maths and English.
Smriti wears many hats (but never a chef’s) and sometimes holds a mic for old times sake. An award-winning and trained classical musician, she chose not to take it up professionally. A passionate gardener, a voracious reader, and a lover of Indian crafts, she has an enviable collection of weaves, both vintage and experimental.
She recently moved to the Palani hills of Tamil Nadu where she lives with her children, husband, and many cats. She currently teaches English at an alternative school in the forest and picks leeches off her feet in between classes.
As ever, there is yet something else in the offing, but she’s holding those cards close to her chest. Hopefully, we’ll be among the first to get a sneak peak when she is ready.

005 - In this episode I am speaking with Deb Wertz. A yoga and meditation teacher for over 10 years, Deb Wertz is passionate about helping people reach their maximum potential physically and emotionally.
Deb grew up in a time when women weren’t encouraged to be much of anything. The recurring message was that girls were vulnerable and, at most, destined for the secretarial pool.
Navigating the world as an adult proved to be frustrating and, for a long time, she lacked effective communication skills and coping mechanisms. This led to periodic meltdowns, which not only didn’t produce the desired outcome it also caused her to not be taken very seriously by anyone – friends, family, management, peers.
After taking a personal development course to learn to be more emotionally self-disciplined, she picked better ways to phrase what she said resulting in positive exposure.
She was the first person in her family to go to college and ultimately got two degrees in mathematics. Currently, she lectures math at a university and a community college. One of her superpowers is being able to explain a complex topic in simple terms and make it comprehensible with easy, relatable examples.
Her current project is Choose UR Words, a course that will teach others choose their words more mindfully so that they can effectively express what they want and get results without emotional outbursts.
