Today, I had the pleasure of hosting former Bachelor Ben Higgins on my podcast! Ben is not only incredibly kind, but also authentically genuine. We delved into his philanthropic endeavors, particularly his passion for Generous Coffee and his latest project, Come Sit With Me. This initiative focuses on fostering inclusivity and ensuring that no one feels like an outsider.

During our conversation, I thoroughly enjoyed catching up with Ben and discussing the past three years since his previous appearance on the podcast. He shared some exciting insights about Bachelor Nation and his new role as co-host of the iHeartRadio Almost Famous podcast alongside Ashley Iacoetti. Together, they delve into all things happening in Bachelor Nation, including the latest news about recent Bachelor Joey and Kelsy. We also had the pleasure of discussing OGs Trista Sutter and Bob Guiney, who have joined Almost Famous Podcast offering intriguing insights into the early days of Trista's season and the behind-the-scenes happenings in the mansion.

Ben's book, "Alone In Plain Sight," sheds light on his personal experiences with loneliness, further emphasizing the importance of his newest project, Come Sit With Me. Ben is actively engaged in speaking engagements at schools and corporations, continuing his quest for inclusivity and making others feel valued and included in conversations. His dedication to spreading light, hope, energy, and vibrancy is undeniably one of his life's missions.

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Ben for graciously sharing his time on the podcast. His platform and passion for positivity have undoubtedly made a significant impact on many individuals. Jess and Wayland are truly fortunate to have him as a loving husband and dog dad.

Meet my friend Ross Pino who’s main focus is to conceptualize the awakening process. Who’s juxtaposition allows you to see the story of life and death, good and evil, and the duality within the world. He also wants to set people free from negative mindsets and destructive thought patterns, and support their fullest elevated versions of themselves.

With only six years of art experience he had a gravitational pull as he said “ something inside was manifesting and pulling me to draw and create” we laughed and he said “ my guides were apart of this magical journey. Along with his inspiration from his daughter who was three at the time and began doodling hearts on his skulls. He embraced her liberating freedom and he began to emulate that mind set into his pieces of artwork, combining the light and dark, and duality of life experiences.

Today, Ross has recently opened his art gallery in NYC showcasing a collection of pieces that define his authentic disposition and colorful juxtaposition talent on canvas. Moving forward, he is aspiring to paint murals with his buddy Jason Naylor, who is definitely a close colleague and alter ego partner that they sometimes seem to be the same person, with similar interests and passions. Many of these mural collaborations can be seen globally and domestically. The next collab will be Your Not Alone Murals @youarenotalonemurals supporting mental conversations about mental health, posting of this event will be shared in his stories.

Thank you Ross for sharing the moments on the podcast. You definitely have cultivated a divisive audience with art enthusiasts like Kesha and Channing Tatum, and of course @ Coming From The Heart Podcast ❤️

I don’t think that I have ever seen a product come into the Shark Tank that resonated more deeply in a social mission way as this… I think this is genius… This needs to be in every woman’s hands."

Thank you Michael for joining us on the podcast! For sharing your journey and Shirah’s dream of saving lives with this amazing product. Meet Dena T., the digital creative behind the One World Empowered brand. Her vision and personal experience with postpartum led her to a trajectory of changing maternal mental health with a community of women who support one another through her parental workshops and Mamas Club. As Dena and I agreed, women’s health at every stage is not addressed properly due to lacking education and resources. All communities and different cultures are affected by postpartum and should be equally represented and supported.

Thank you Dena for joining us on the podcast! Thank you for your voice in illuminating a topic that is consistently ignored! That is why we are so excited to continue working with you and furthering the conversation in our future collaboration on women’s health issues. Meet my great and very special friend AJ Sarcione, who has the innate ability to touch many hearts with his incredibly sincere disposition and demeanor. AJ and I met three years ago and our vibes just connected, as well as our platforms of elevating others in our "tribe". AJ's ability to transform his business and brand is uniquely his own. In his former position as head of MOJO and employee experience for Verizon/Yahoo, he worked closely with C-suite leaders on employee engagement before, during, and after a major merger. In AJ's diversified background, from being a global speaker and founder of Get Your Shine, and in creating a business and supporting leaders and teams to encourage performance, he often uses the untapped human superpower of imagination to help us SHINE!

AJ's recent focus is on HeartMath, a modality that he is incorporating into all aspects of his personal and professional life. As he states, "HeartMath is the connection between your emotions and heart. It’s an innovative approach to improving emotional wellbeing." Undoubtedly, I was enamored by this aspect of the chat and will be learning to implement some of the HeartMath methods in my own life!

Thank you once again AJ for sharing yourself on the podcast! I truly couldn’t help myself but smile, laugh and be so present! Can’t wait to chat again on Instagram Live and experience a little slice of life in Texas. You can follow AJ on Instagram @ajsarcione, and AJ and Ben's ranch adventure @beajranch. Meet my friend Tatyana Frost, who is a mental illness advocate and author of a bipolar self-help book, Inside My Mind, who is absolutely shattering bipolar stigmas! She is the creator of @havingbipolar on Instagram and has the stamina and incredible ability to share herself on this brilliant platform. Her recent interview with Women’s Health Magazine was one of the many moments where she showed her most strength and extensive power of resilience explaining her journey with this illness.

As I shared moments with her on the podcast, I felt her dedication to destroying the many stigmas of having bipolar disorder and how passionately she felt about advocating for herself since she was a child. As Tatyana stated, “ I have bipolar disorder. I am not bipolar. Because I live a very productive life and being labeled is just wrong!"

Thank you Tatyana for being on the podcast, and for your incredible transparency! It has been a honor to have met you and to have you share your story with the CFTH community. I am looking forward to many more conversations and collaborations in the future! You can follow Tatyana on Instagram @havingbipolar, and be sure to check out her book, Inside My Mind: A Bipolar Self-Help Journal, available on Amazon.

Meet my friend and food blogger, Kayla Cappiello, who is a creator of delicious, easy recipes for people dealing with an array of food allergies, such as gluten, dairy, and tree nuts. As Kayla shared in her journey, she dealt with stomach issues from the time she was a child until after college, when she discovered that she had celiac, lactose intolerance, and a tree nut allergy. Her frustration led her to start her account and create tasteful food that she could actually enjoy.

Kayla’s passion inspired her to continue to share her recipes with a growing community that's eager for simple, flavorful recipes. This incredible motivation and momentum has also driven her to write her first cookbook, Easy Allergy-Free Cooking, which is now available for pre-order!

Meet Mitchell Schorr, a renowned international muralist whose passion is to bring smiles and happiness to other humans with his vibrant color palette and incredible moving pieces of street art and collections of oil paintings. His most famous pieces are Da Race and the Milk Truck which are located in New York City, and are reminiscent of his childhood memories that he now brings to life as a moving collection, often not on permanent structures. His pieces move beyond NYC and can also be found in Burlington, Vermont and Detroit, Michigan.

As Mitchell shared, his decision and motivation to travel to the neighborhoods of Manhattan during the pandemic was to create beauty in spaces that had been boarded up. As he said, “ I wanted to bring happiness and smiles to these dark moments”. Having grown up in Manhattan, he definitely wanted to spread some sunshine and color to those who were suffering. Using colorful spray paints is his magical way to touch the hearts of many. What enamored me the most in speaking with Mitchell was his matter-of-fact and genuine demeanor and his humbleness.

Thank you Mitchell for being on the podcast! I hope we can help spread your passion for color and happiness to the world, which needs a lot of nurturing and smiles. Thank you for this beautiful interview, and for sharing your creativity with people across the globe.

Two years ago on June 10th, 2020, Coming From the Heart Podcast was born with one mission - validating others and making sure they never feel alone. Experiencing the tumultuous moments of vertigo, my mental health was never addressed, and I know in my heart that my voice needed to connect to a community that would cathartically heal me and others. Reflecting on that initiative and goal of the podcast, I continue to plunge forward to cathartically heal myself and attach to communities that need their voices heard! With that said, I will share stories of inclusivity, love, and strength of one another and put forth webinars that support sexual assault and mental health collaborations that create change and movement.

As a female host, I am excessively honored to be in my position and dive forward with new platform concepts and great media content. I believe that together we can unite, uplift, and support the seismic ways we consume and connect to media, and put forth excessive change that will transform the trajectories of how we perceive mental health illnesses.

Last year, our mental health collaboration focused on the need to be more vocal and transparent. One goal of the conversation was to discuss eradicating the stigma of mental health by normalizing conversations, and having mindfulness and mental health as the norm of school curricula and future doctor visits. We're happy that this year we were able to continue that discussion with another panel of guests from all walks of life giving insight and support to this global crisis of mental health. Thank you to all of our guests for joining the conversation and sharing their insights!

After being dumped by an ex-boyfriend on her birthday, she recorded a candid conversation she had with a close guy friend about relationships. Little did she know at the time, this casual chat would go on to become the hit dating podcast "We Met At Acme." After many dating experiences, Lindsey felt it was imperative to create this podcast and shed a light on this touchy subject.

Laughing out loud and sharing space with two of my favorite humans was so much fun! In this candid and hilarious chat with my besties Ife and Josette we talked about movement, going through "shit” that empowers your journey, and loving and respecting yourself to speak your truth. Can't wait to talk with these two beautiful, powerhouse women again, next time hopefully with Oprah! We'll keep manifesting and wearing our awesome hats!

Ife Thomas, with her cool British accent and exuberant positivity platform, joined us along with Josette Tkacik, and with her platform of self-healing, making for an afternoon chat on how mental health is so connected to dance, body, mind, and validation. It's all about going through your own shit, and how that shit can be the source of strength and opportunity, depending on how you spin it! As Josette said, “Having a beautiful heart and caring for others is the magic that’s in all of us!"

Thank you Ife and Josette for being on the episode! You can find Ife on Instagram @ifethomas, on Twitter @ifethomas1, and on Facebook @IfeThomasMindWorkOut. You can find Josette on Instagram @josettetkacik or on her website josettetkacik.com.

We’ll be continuing our Food, Lifestyle, and Culture platform into September, with plans to see with some of my new friends about their farms, pumpkins, and fun! Be sure to keep watching our Instagram Lives to meet these exciting new guests with us, and stay tuned for an upcoming episode with a friend who's known globally in the world of music, known for working with artists like David Bowie!

As we plunge into our food, lifestyle, and culture segments, Lauren Carey is the first person I think of when talking about food and nutrition. Lauren, the founder and owner of LBS Nutrition LLC, was a guest on CFTH in September 2020, and she was kind enough to join us again to catch up and chat about eating habits as we move forward out of the pandemic. Lauren and I had a great time chatting bout her individualized and holistic and empathetic approach to nutrition! We spoke that re-entry post pandemic may actually be a positive due to better eating habits.

Meet Lauren Carey, RD of LBS Nutrition LLC, who has a holistically healing and nutritional approach to support her client's needs. With a vast amount of experience Lauren and her team of dietitians give an empathetic and supportive approach to deal with the varied eating issues which affect a person's well being. Jaime Angelini is the Statewide Director of Disaster Services and Special Projects at the Mental Health Association in NJ (MHANJ). For two decades she has worked as a mental health advocate and mental health educator. Jaime has extensive knowledge in disaster mental health and community response. Jaime has experience in successfully building capacity for peer-led programs at MHANJ and has assisted the organization’s growth in implementing new peer roles, as well as providing training, leadership, and mentorship for NJ peers.

After Superstorm Sandy, Jaime provided oversight to MHANJ’s mental health disaster response. As she spoke of Sandy, I remembered the devastation that it brought my family, with the loss of our home, materialistic possessions, and a great deal of mental anguish and fatigue. As I said to Jamie, "I only wish my mom knew that your organization existed, she suffered extreme mental distress and felt overwhelmed and unsure about her future or a vision to move forward."

Jaime is a Mental Health First Aid Instructor, QPR-Suicide Prevention Instructor, FEMA Trainer, Parent Educator, Anger Management Facilitator and Certified Disaster Response Crisis Counselor. She currently oversees the statewide New Jersey Hope and Healing (NJHH) program. NJHH provides crisis counseling to those impacted by COVID-19, and the organization had new challenges to dealt with among the instability of the deadly virus. Though with extreme optimism Jamie exudes that her team was able to support the many who needed and continue to need emotional counseling. Jaime also went on to say that re-entering the workforce is now an issue that needs to be addressed, as we all move forward to resuming our lives, but not the "normal" lives we may have lived prior to the pandemic.

Thank you Jaime for being on the episode! You can contact Jaime via email at jangelini@mhanj.org, and you can find more information about the Mental Health Association in New Jersey online at www.mhanj.org.

Josette, known in the medial community as a "medical miracle" for healing rheumatoid arthritis, was kind enough to chat with us about her 10-year journey and awakening that has brought her to this incredible life and community that now completes her. Josette presents herself as a calm yet fiery personality that exudes compassion, strength, and humility. Being diagnosed with RA did not define her, and she juxtaposed her life by changing her diet, becoming greener, and pursuing her passion for dance as a Zumba instructor. Josette ignored the static and noise from the medical community and regained her courage to believe in herself. As she states, "This is the best journey of my life, I can heal myself, I have sovereignty." Thank you Josette for sharing your bravery, positivity, and beautiful soul! You touched our hearts and are undeniably are transcending to touching so many more!

Kristy Daube is the creator of Peace Pals, a nonprofit that allows ordinary people to become extraordinary! Her concept is relatively simple, Peace Pals becomes the liaison between two strangers who morph and transcend into soulmates due to their uniquely unfortunate circumstances of loss or personal struggles. Her platform is reminiscent of the pen pal days when you could correspond wth a total stranger. Kristy has definitely given a new perspective to this concept and orchestrates a symphony of harmony between two humans that need to be touched and connected.

As we move forward from the year of the pandemic, we appreciate and are grateful for her incredible work. Her concept and platform is and will support people around the globe who are stuck with a lack of hope and support. Thank you Kristy for your positivity, enthusiasm, and boundless energy that brightens the universe with an illumination of passion and positivism!

June 10th was our one-year anniversary! Last year I sat down at our kitchen table and shared my story with Alexandra, and today Kristy will share hers and how Peace Pals was born. Every connection we've made has given us the opportunity to thrive and flourish. Thank you to our family and friends for their unconditional support, and to our wonderful guests, keep shining your beautiful lights of positivity, love, and optimism!

Thank you Kristy for being on the episode! You can find Peace Pals on Instagram @peace_pals, and you can submit your story at peacepals.org or by emailing mystory@peacepals.org.

Sitting down with Jeremy Jacobowitz, the founder of Brunch Boys, we immediately knew that Jeremy is a self-driven, self-motivated human that creates incredible content and is a brilliant influencer. As a child he created his own videos that truly became his superpower and strength while attending college at NYU. Working in television and as a sports producer he had the opportunity to interview Derek Jeter from the Yankees, and many other professional players. He then went on to become a personal assistant to Bobby Flay, which gave him the capacity to utilize his skillsets to plunge forward into creating his own platform and brand on Instagram, Brunch Boys. What started out as a personal account for posting monthly brunch photos, Brunch Boys became Jeremy's pet project, and he is now an influencer, content creator, and host making a huge name for himself in the rapidly evolving social media market.

Jeremy, we thank you so much for sharing your frustrations and the story of your ride to success. How you addressed challenges with your mental health will definitely be appreciated by our listeners and your followers. From our heart to yours we're honored to have had you on the podcast!

In the last year of this pandemic the rise of mental health issues and concerns have become more than problematic! They are now the silent pandemic due to financial factors like job instability, loss of loved ones, isolation, lack of touch, and of course extreme loneliness.

Statistically, those who’ve never experienced a mental health issue and others who’ve dealt with personal struggles continue to be at a high risk!

Alexandra and I wanted to create this safe space of collaborators who are professional in giving insight and support to this global crisis of mental health, that is the how and why this webinar has evolved.

This webinar will touch upon problems and offer suggestions to support the many who may be enduring situations of emotional pain. We would like to preface that this discussion does not replace a conversation with a licensed therapist and professional. If you feel that you or someone in your life needs support, links will be provided in our bio.

Another goal of this conversation, was to eradicate the stigma of mental health by normalizing conversations and having mindfulness and mental health as the norm of school curricula and future doctor visits .

Thank you to all the wonderful guests for your input and vision as we all work closely to a brighter and cognizant tomorrow!

All of our episodes this month are dedicated to talking about mental health, as we know it is the other “pandemic”. Dealing with your mental health sometimes can feel like a battle, but know WE ARE HERE FOR YOU and seeking professional help is not only courageous, but empowering! Through sharing stories and people’s journeys, we hope it makes you feel less alone.

As a continuum of our May Mental Health Conversations, Alexandra and Helene take a deep dive on how the pandemic has affected people’s mental health in all aspects of their lives. We talk about reclaiming our power, and how do we move forward in this new phase of the pandemic.

Then, Advocacy Director Caitlin from Cor-a joins us, and candidly talks about her experience with depression and anxiety starting in her early teens through entering college. When thoughts or feelings of anxiety and depression arose, she was told “ Well, don’t be sad. Cheer up!” Basically, suck up your feelings. Coming from a small town, everyone knew each other’s business, making it even harder for Caitlin to express how she felt. It wasn’t until she got to Penn State that she was able to escape the darkness and get the help she always needed and deserved from a therapist at CAPS.

Thank you Caitlin for joining us on Instagram Live! You can find her on Instagram @callenmecait, and you can follow Cor-a @walkwithdignity.

According to Psychology Today: Confidence is not an innate, fixed characteristic. It's an ability that can be acquired and improved over time. Being confident has a lot to do with how we value and see ourselves and the ones around us. It's this electromagnetic force that people connect to, and as Ife said, it's this kinetic energy that becomes a super power!

Having a conversation with our new bestie Ife Thomas, we were immediately drawn to her inner core and enamored by her ability to cultivate a community that is quite diversified, yet shares a common interest of yearning to improve their lives. Ife is a confidence coach who has helped hundreds of people get "unstuck" and become unshakable and unstoppable. This chat will make you think a lot about why and how you present yourself to the world!

Thank you Ife for being on the episode! You can find her on Instagram @ifethomas, on Twitter @ifethomas1, and on Facebook @IfeThomasMindWorkOut. Check out her website mindworkout.co.uk, and keep an eye out for her upcoming podcast!

"I am strong! I am confident! I am amazingly good!" Own these words, take some moments to pause and reflect. You entered this world as you, and that's definitely something that should be celebrated.

Sitting down with local restaurant owner Cookie Till and bake Kim Richmond, we immediately felt a connection to their friendship, passion, and ability to create a business like Ventnor No. 7311, which opened on May 6, 2015 with the concept of offering fresh and innovative baked items paired with fair-trade coffee and organic tea.

Both Kim and Cookie were born and raised on Absecon Island, and share a sense of pride for their home. Sharing this beautiful friendship for over 30 years, they were brought together by their mutual passion for baking and being creators of an amazing brand, which their community has definitely responded to with large lines and loyal customers. 7311 is more than just a warm chocolate chip cookie and a great cup of joe. It's a place to connect, feel welcome, and meet other locals. You'll also find a collection of handcrafted items from local artisans such as Mudgirls Studios, Spindrift Pottery, and Clint Hunter Pottery.

Located in an up and coming Ventnor neighborhood, the space has become a hub to showcase their culinary creations. With degrees in culinary arts and nutrition, the duo experiment daily with natural, fresh ingredients to introduce their interpretations of small batch baking. Everything is made on site - including paleo, gluten-free, and vegan options which change daily - and highlight the local seasonal ingredients from Reeds Organic Farm.

Thank you Cookie and Kim for being on the episode! You can find Ventnor No. 7311 on their website ventnor7311.com, and follow them on Instagram @ventnor7311 and Twitter @ventnor7311. You can also contact them by email at ventnor7311@gmail.com.

Feeling alone are two words that may be difficult to define because loneliness, the state of being alone can be something intangible that you can not describe because it hurts too much! Loneliness can be described in different ways, according to a UCLA study which states that people can often feel a lack of companionship and feel left out. Sitting down with Ben Higgins, who was on the 20th season of ABC's The Bachelor and who has since written an incredible book, was a memorable and amazing experience for Alexandra and I!

Ben's book Alone in Plain Sight is definitely a great read! We blew through the pages and felt empowered by his words, wisdom, and insight into a world of loneliness that he had endured as a child which followed him into his adulthood. Often, we do not see the struggle others have with being alone because they often wear "masks" so that their pain and suffering remain hidden. Thank you Ben for being so public wth your innermost thoughts, undoubtedly you have a gift to touch many with your kind-heartedness, genuinity, and being your "plain", remarkable self!

Thank you Ben for being on the episode! You can follow Ben on Instagram @higgins.ben. You can find Generous Coffee Co. on Instagram @generous_coffee_, and on their website generousmovement.com. You can order Ben's book, Alone in Plain Sight, online here!

As she describes it, we are living in an epidemic of loneliness, yearning for connection in a digital world, and she is the mediator bringing people closer together.

From loneliness, heartbreak, perfectionism, and having the perseverance and courage to take the plunge, both in her career and in love, we learned so much from Naz and can't wait to share this conversation with you!
