This is a STOP (Stop taxing Our People) meeting that occured in Chatham County on Wilmington Island in 2001.  The topic was whether or not to have a Homestead Option Sales Tax.  In attendance on the panel were Rick McGrath Professor at Georgia Southern (Armstrong at the time), State Rep House 164 Ron Stephens, County Commissioner (Now Judge) Harris Odell, Jeff Rayno District 1 County Commissioner, Susu Cox District 1 Chatham Savannah School Board, and cameos by Dr Paul Jergensun (my personal hero), Carl Oelshig (the most diplomatic man I ever knew, Chris Taylor (my partner in crime in STOP), Pere Liakakis briefly at the end, and others.  This is how grownups get togetherin a room and discuss things without it turning into chaos.  Life should go back to that all the time.  People helping people.  The best of this meeting was it was hosted by Burke Day who was my friend, my mentor, and a person of class who will never be beaten in that category.

This recording from a cassette is over 20 years old. Pardon the quality, however, it does show Mr. Monahan to be well versed in his subject matter, dealing well with a tough crowd and dispensing info about what the Trade Center was to become. How much was accurate? This is in CNN style, and it has been heavily edited from its original format.
