This week we’re diving into the one marketing skill most expert businesses are still ignoring…
👉 And it’s not ads.
👉 It’s not shouting louder or going viral.
It’s showing up in a way that others won't on video so you become the most known and trusted brand in your field.
In this episode of The Standout Business Show, I sit down with bestselling author and trust-building trailblazer Marcus Sheridan—the author of They Ask, You Answer and Endless Customers—to unpack why the future of marketing isn’t about louder content... it’s about radical transparency and human connection.
We dive into:

✅ How showing what others won’t (on video) gives you an unbeatable edge
✅ The "self-service revolution" that's rewriting how customers buy
✅ Why becoming your own media company isn’t optional anymore
Marcus doesn’t just preach content strategy—he built the fastest-growing pool company in the U.S. by showing everything his competitors were afraid to reveal.
If you're an expert, consultant, or service provider trying to grow your business in a crowded market… this conversation will change how you think about marketing forever.
Stay until the end for the #1 question Marcus asks every business owner about their content—and why it might be the most profitable question you ever answer.

What if the real reason your content isn’t landing has nothing to do with the algorithm—and everything to do with how you’re showing up?
In this episode of The Standout Business Show, we break down the attention revolution happening right now—and what expert entrepreneurs can learn from a surprising source: a grassroots political campaign in New York City.
Zohran Mamdani didn’t have a massive budget, party backing, or name recognition. But he crushed his opponent—a former governor—by doing one thing most expert brands aren’t doing: earning attention instead of buying it.
Inside this episode, you’ll learn:
This isn’t about politics. It’s about learning how attention actually works today—and using that to position your expertise in a way that breaks through the noise.
🎙 Plus, hear the powerful “man-on-the-street” clip that helped turn Mamdani’s campaign into a viral movement—and how you can apply the same principle to your own message.
📍Whether you’re building your authority on LinkedIn or looking for your next high-value client, this episode will help you rethink the way you show up… and how to make people actually care.

If you want to stand out, you can’t follow the rules of mainstream marketing.
We’ve all been told that you need to be a more polished, performative, camera ready version of yourself… before you can show up.
I think that’s wrong—and I’m going to show you why. You don’t need to be “camera ready” to start showing up, you need a new way to be seen.
In this episode of The Standout Business Show, we're breaking down one of the biggest myths holding expert entrepreneurs back from building visibility
—and revealing why being yourself might be the most powerful content strategy you’ve never fully embraced.
If you’ve ever said:
– “I’m not great on camera”
– “I don’t like how I look or sound”
– “I’m not sure I’m cut out for video”
…this episode will reframe everything.
We’ll talk about:
– The hidden belief holding most experts back from visibility
– Why scripting, prepping, and performing often make things worse
– How to unlock your real presence and turn it into magnetic video content
– The truth about where confidence really comes from (hint: it’s not perfection)
This is the shift from “I hope I’m doing this right” to “Oh wow, that’s me—and it works.”
If you're the best-kept secret in your industry, it's time to change that.
Because when you start showing up in your zone of genius—with clarity, confidence, and the right content—your ideal clients won't just notice you.

Before anyone buys from you, they need to believe.
Not just in your offer—but in themselves, their problem, the possibility of change, and the method you use to get them there.
That’s the idea behind the Chain of Beliefs—a simple but powerful framework that can turn your videos, your content, and your messaging into a client-converting machine.
In this episode of The Standout Business Show, I’m pulling back the curtain and showing you exactly how I applied the Chain of Beliefs to my own offer—Mic Drop Moments—with the help of my CMO-in-your-pocket (aka ChatGPT).

What if the key to standing out wasn’t about doing things better than your competitors, but about focusing on what they’re not doing at all?
In this episode, I’m sharing a personal story from my college swimming days where trying too hard to beat the competition led me to make a costly mistake—and a crucial lesson in marketing strategy.
You’ll hear about reverse benchmarking, a concept from U.K. marketer Rory Sutherland, and how it helped one restaurant redefine their service by focusing on what others were neglecting. Instead of copying what others were doing best, they leaned into what wasn’t being done—and turned it into their competitive advantage.
I’ll also share how I’ve applied this strategy to Mic Drop Moments, my video marketing service, to serve clients who are being underserved by the market. This approach has allowed me to carve out a unique space in a crowded industry and help clients get visible without competing on the same tired strategies.
So if you’re tired of following the herd and want a more strategic way to stand out, this episode will give you a fresh perspective on how to rethink your approach and make your competition irrelevant.

If you’ve ever followed the advice to “just connect with more people” in an attempt to grow your network—only to feel like you’re wasting time sending cold DMs and getting ghosted—you’re not alone.
I recently tested this strategy myself, reaching out to 20 new people per day on LinkedIn, and while I technically grew my email list by 1,000+ contacts, the quality of these connections? Pretty disappointing.
Here’s the hard truth: Most high-level service providers are networking the wrong way.
The real key to building a powerful network isn’t more connections—it’s more clarity and focus.
In this episode, we dive into:
🔥 Why the “more is better” networking approach leads to surface-level relationships
🔥 The missing ingredient that separates experts who build real influence from those who stay stuck chasing leads
🔥 How to shift from transactional outreach to relationship-driven marketing that actually works
If you’re ready to stop wasting time on networking strategies that don’t lead to real opportunities—and start building a high-value network that grows your business effortlessly—hit play now! 🎧

You’ve probably heard it a thousand times:
If you want to grow your brand, you need to post content everywhere, every day:
Blog posts. Instagram. LinkedIn. YouTube. Email.
It’s a never-ending cycle.
And if you’re not showing up constantly,
you might as well be invisible… right?
Well, I’m here to tell you—that’s a myth.
More content doesn’t mean more clients.
In fact, creating too much content might actually be hurting your business.
(because you're spending all your time on social media - instead of working on your business)
So in this episode, I’m showing why the content gerbil wheel is a waste of your time—And how you can replace it with a smarter, more strategic way to attract high-quality leads that come pre-sold and ready to buy.
Stay tuned because this is going to change the way you think about content...

Sadly, the webinar world has gotten pretty stale out there.
Most webinars always seem to follow the same formula:
They hook you with a big promise and then the presenter spends most of the next 90 minutes talking about their case studies, their own background, they give you a couple of tips and it all leads to - wait for it- a sales pitch!
So you're left thinking, "Oh man, that's 90 minutes totally wasted."
But, they don't have to be like this.
I don't want to diss webinars as a medium, because I actually think that, done properly, a lot of good can come if you're doing webinars as part of your marketing.
So what if your own events could be really different?
What if they could be so engaging and interactive that your attendees are leaving feeling energized and inspired?
To help answer that question I've invited gamification and game learning expert Caitlin Johnson onto the show to talk about how you can not only make your next webinar more engaging - but turn it into an epic adventure!
So if you're ready to create an addictive, epic webinar in 2025 - listen up!

HATE clunky workshops? They're super annoying and they make it harder to learn.
Here's why:
❌ No direction means information is less intuitive.
❌ No clear purpose means you've got no....purpose...
❌ Poor pacing rushes crucial insights or drags simple stuff
What the solution?
Design your workshop like a story arc.
Result?
A workshop that feels whole and creates genuine "aha" moments.
Want to see how this can work for your next workshop?
Then listen to this week's guest, Rob D. Willis who's taking us on a deep dive into how you can design workshops that flow as smoothly as stories.
Rob is a storytelling consultant and workshop facilitator who's on a mission to unlock your potential with clear storytelling techniques.

We spend a lot of energy, a lot of time, and as we grow older, a lot of money trying to fit in.
Whether it's the clothes we buy the car we drive, the job we try and go for where we're trying to basically be part of the group.
We're trying to blend in to get by.
We're trying to blend in so that we feel safe and we feel comfortable.
And if you're in business for yourself, it's absolutely the wrong thing to be thinking about. It's the worst place to be putting all your energy into.
"There's no such thing as fitting in. Life is a pair of skinny jeans, and you are a big fat ass." Comedian Tom Papa

In the digital marketing space, conventional wisdom suggests that the only way to be successful is to show up everywhere and shout louder than everyone else.
In other words be an extrovert or be irrelevant.
But what if you could build a system that takes advantages of your strengths and allows you to be who you are - even if you're an introvert?
That's what we're talking about this week with special guest, Dan Keldsen. Dan is Chief Innovation Officer and Digital Transformation Leader at Infocap and is host of the Next Future Today podcast.
So if you've ever wondered how introverts can excel in the extrovert-driven world of digital marketing, stay tuned to learn how you can build systems that work with your personality & avoid changing who you are.

My guest, Alan Samuel Cohen, is sharing his 'Stories that Sell' strategy that turns cold prospects into loyal buyers.
As a speaker, author & Chief Story Catalyst, Alan’s coaching focuses on helping his clients craft and deliver unique narratives that make a bigger impact.
So, if you've been struggling to use storytelling to connect with your audience, stay tuned, because we're going to take a look at how you can mine for stories and find stories in everyday events.
Biggest Takeaway:"If you're a marketing firm telling good stories and demonstrating that you can tell a good story about your own organization is really where the big payoff is."

Think of a popular brand you know, like Apple, Harley-Davidson or Disney. When you see or hear these names, does something click in your mind that goes way beyond mere familiarity?
Of course, you know about their product or service offerings, but I'm willing to bet you have a much deeper, more profound, and even emotional connection to these businesses. (Think about the long lines of people camped outside the Apple store every time they launch a new iphone).
These aren’t just brands; they’re legendary brands.
And they don’t just have satisfied customers (like you); they've created raving fans—the true believers who buy every product, who spread their message and who will stand up to defend the honor and reputation of these multibillion-dollar corporations.
(Full transparancy here: I'm a loyal Apple user. I currently own what is my 5th iphone, and a macbook pro, mac mini, imac and ipad - and do my video editing on Final Cut Pro)
But, for the small business person, what can you learn from these big companies that can help make your own brand legendary?
Well that's what this week's guest, author and consultant Scott Wozniak is going to break down for us. Scott's the author of "Make Your Brand Legendary: Create Raving Fans With the Customer Experience Engine."
Scott is going to share a set of systems that all the great brands use to create raving fans that he calls the Customer Experience Engine - a simple tool to help leaders become legends.
So, if you're wanting to create those same kinds of raving fans that always seem to dominate dinner-party conversations and online chat boards then stay tuned!

My guest this week is brand strategist, Jaci Russo and my biggest takeaway from our conversation was her take on the most basic way to explain branding:
“We don’t see things as they are. We see things as we are.”
Jaci says, Your clients don’t see your company as it is. If they know of your company at all, they only see a small sliver of it from their perspective.
That’s why you say things like, “If prospects just understood what we do they would want our products/services.”
But, you’ll lose them when you try to “educate” them on who you are and how you work and why you’re great.
Those kinds of messages are just more noise for them to ignore.
You need to understand more about your target audience, their buyer’s journey, and have a message that will cut through the clutter and connect with them. You need to change the conversation & show them how you’re different.
Listen up because Jaci walked us through her process of building a brand that changes the conversation, via her 4-step Razor Branding process, that will help you clearly define the promise behind your brand, and help your customers more easily understand how your product or service will enhance their lives.

What if you could effortlessly attract high-quality leads with just a few minutes of your time each day?
So much of lead generation and lead nurturing is built around relationship & trust building.
And this is especially true for by consultants, coaches & agencies who run service businesses.
You need to establish enough trust and authority so that when a prospect is facing a challenge in their business that aligns with what you do -- they reach out to you.
Once you have a process through content & trust building that runs smoothly, you've cut out the friction from your sales process. Your audience already feels like they know how you can help them and if they're a good fit for your offer.
Removing the friction to lead generation is what we're talking about in this episode because when you create the right content, and you do it in away that takes little time investment away from your actual business, you can attract a regular flow of right-fit clients who are excited to work with you.
Don't miss this episode packed with valuable insights to elevate your content marketing strategy and make lead generation friction-free.

After you give a talk, or make a presentation, or make a video, what if no one remembers what you said?
What if after all your posting on social media people don't remembers a thing you shared...?
A recent study that showed that when someone posts online or gives a talk... after just 48 hours... 80% of the information is gone!
Let that sink in: People can't recall 80% of what you say.
Whenever you create content, if all you do is share information people remember only 20% (or less)
Which begs the question, if all you're sharing is information, how are you bringing value?
So what can you do to make sure folks remember what you said?
Well, that's exactly what I'm covering in this episode - my simple 3-step process for ensuring that people remember you & your content
and think of you the next time they need what you offer.
Listen up!
It's time you got your butt on video. There, I said it. And you know it's true.
Not in the "there's only one way to market yourself and it's video" mindset. (that's a bunch of B.S.)
It's just that people need to know the person they're going to hire, they need to see the person behind the business that they're going to buy from.
If they look at your website or your social media posts and there's no video anywhere, they can't tell who you are.
❌ They don't feel like they know you.
❌ They can't see your personality.
❌ They can't trust you yet.
But when you make something as simple as a one-minute video, all of a sudden they can see all those things - how you think, what you believe, whether or not you like cats (or maybe your a dog person)
all this simple stuff that adds up to relating to another human.
And if people can't relate to you as another human, then they aren't going to buy from you.
But, I know what you're thinking:
You're thinking "But video is too hard, takes too much time, costs a bunch of money - and I don't think I'm good on camera."
Well, in this episode I'm walking you through my simple 3-step process that anyone can do:
✅ that takes no time,
✅ takes no money,
✅ is super simple
and can turn anyone into a relatable, trustworthy human on camera...!

Ever found yourself scrolling endlessly through social media, only to be captivated by a story that stopped you in your tracks?
Everyone's had the experience of being hooked by a good story. We simply can't help ourselves.
However, while the effects of good storytelling hasn't changed, the mediums that we're using to tell stories have. Social media (and fast scrolling attention spans) demands that we share our stories in micro moments.
But how do we do that?
What are the ways to tell a story that grabs attention the moment someone takes out their phone and starts scrolling through various social platforms?
If you're posting an Instagram reel or a Youtube short, how do you build in the elements that make for a gripping narrative that will keep people's attention - and do it in under a minute?
Well, to help explore this new realm of social media storytelling, I've invited master storyteller, Francisco Mahfuz onto the Standout Business Show.
Francisco is the author of “Bare: A Guide to Brutally Honest Public Speaking,” the host of The Storypowers Podcast & the author of some super entertaining storytelling that I've been binging on LinkedIn

Right now, in 2024, the most successful digital content is coming from short-form style videos.
We're talking about quick video clips that are no more than 60 seconds in length.
But short form videos are more than just fleeting content; they're powerful tools that can turn viewers into loyal clients.
The good news is that short video clips are easy to make - but the problem is in order to have them perform well you'll need to post consistently on a daily basis.
And if you've tried this at all, I'm sure you've wondered:
"Well, what the heck do I make my videos about?"
That's what we're going to talk about in this episode, because I'm going to share with you a very simple process you can follow so that you can have an endless supply of amazing short form video topics.
By the end of this episode you're gonna have a quick 10-minute exercise that you can perform every single week.
And every time you perform this exercise you are going to come up with more short form video topics than you can possible publish.

There's a social media trend that says you need to show up everywhere online for the sake of getting more people to take a look at you & follow you...
...all in the hope that if you post all the time, you’ll grow a big audience and some of those people will decide to buy from you…
“someday”
In this episode I'm sharing my minimalist approach to growing your personal brand online.
I call this the un-influencer route.
And while it’s the polar opposite of being an influencer, it is all about having genuine influence.
Here’s my take:
If you want to impress people, make things complicated.
But, if you want to help them, keep it simple.
I help my clients do three things:
In this episode I’ve broken down this strategy in detail – and show you how simple it can be :))

One of the biggest challenges facing every service business, whether you're a consultant, a coach or an online course creator, is maintaining a steady stream of new clients.
Typically you'll experience a great month with lots of new business.
Then you and your team will buckle down and get busy doing great work for your clients.
But, as that work comes to a close... your pipeline for attracting new clients looks all dry and dusty from neglect. 😱
And you end up going through a long, dry period of scrambling and stress - not knowing where the next client will come from.
What if there was a way for you to invest a modest amount of your marketing budget into an automated system that can run in the background that would provide you with a consistent flow of right-fit clients?
And, if set up properly, would have people coming to you who know they're a perfect fit for your offer?
Well, this week's guest, Danny Young joined to share his simple and affordable approach to using Facebook video ads to build an engaged audience, automate your lead generation and create epic experiences for your customers.
Danny is the founder of a boutique Facebook Ads agency, specializing in audience growth and keeping your brand and products front of mind for your dream clients.

Breaking through the noise of a content-saturated online space isn't just about being different—it's about being real.
A couple of weeks ago I hosted a masterclass that was addressing what I think is the biggest online dilemma of our times:
Everyone is publishing content online...but very few are actually showing up authentically...
So, this week I'm sharing the replay from that masterclass where I went in depth on how to show up as yourself and how you can stand out in a crowded market by bringing more personality into your marketing.
Takeaways:
Whether you're looking to inspire, engage, or grow your audience, this episode is your blueprint for forging genuine connections in an ever-evolving digital landscape.

When you have a service business it's just not as easy to sell your offer.
People want to know a lot more more about you.
They want to know who they'll be working with.
In order to buy, they need to feel like they want to spend time with you.
So, you need to show them who you are as much as you need to tell them about your offer.
You need to create a nurturing experience that helps them get to know youso they'll feel like they're a good fit for your offer.
But, here's the golden nugget:
you can have a shorter nurturing experience
IF they feel like they already know you and trust you
by the time you're actually making your offer.
And the easiest way to do that is through video.
So, today I'm sharing a feed drop from Sarah Noel Block's podcast, The Tiny Marketing Show, where she interviewed me all about how to use short form video to build relationships with your followers.
We talked about how your nurturing experience with your followers can be a lot shorter because it's such a personal experience when you're watching a video
People see your personality. You're building trust - because they see what you know, how you think & how you see the world.
And your teaching them how to solve their problem through your short-form videos
You can really reduce your sales cycle because you're quickly answering the questions in their minds like:
Because - they've already proven that to themselves - after watching your videos.

The only thing worse than a long boring webinar...
(you know the kind that goes on for 90 minutes, gives little value & then turns into a sales pitch)
...is a much longer, boring virtual summit
(that lasts for several days of long, boring webinars that turn into a pitch fest)
Well, now there's a remedy thats been developed by this weeks guest, Mia Moran.
Mia wanted to host a month-long event during the holiday time...
(A time usually associated with additional stress)
that would help her audience reset and rejuvenate in time for the New Year.
She wanted to give people simple, daily steps that could be accomplished in just 5 minutes.
And so, her 'Small Moves That Matter' 5-minute virtual summit was born!
If you've ever wondered how to successfully host a virtual summit that's both engaging and efficien, then tune in because we're going to tell the story of how Mia has put together a daily series of 5-minute presentations for the whole month of December.
And, bonus, each speaker created and submitted their own presentation - so, way less work than the normal amount required by hosting a multi-day virtual event.
This totally goes into the category of 'many hands make light work' section of solopreneurship :))

Are you ready to be the face of your brand and stand out from the crowd?
The idea of having a personal brand isn't new, but there's a persistent misbelief that personal brands are just for CEOs, celebrities and Instagram influencers.
But consider this:
Recently, I saw a post on LinkedIn by Nat Berman predicting a Personal Brand explosion. He said:
"Most of the CEOs, Founders & entrepreneurs who have been sitting on the sidelines won't any longer. They'll realize how important it is to be known for more than just their jobs."
But, more critically,
"They'll also be looking at other personal brands as a form of resume!"
Which made me think that if this prediction plays out, then in order to stand out & to ensure our success in the future, every one of us - you, me, all of us, need to develop our personal brands.
To help explore the idea that developing your personal brand is not just a good idea - but vital to your career path - I've invited two career coaches onto this week's Standout Business Show.
Sonal Bahl is a career strategist & founder of Supercharge Yourself who's developed her personal brand via a successful Youtube channel (with 145,000 subscribers) and weekly LinkedIn livestream series.
Ashley Paré is a leadership coach for professional women & founder of Own Your Worth & Worthy Women's Collective who's grown her personal brand through public speaking including her TEDx talk, 'How to have your cake & negotiate too.'

But, what if standing out had more to do with what's going on inside you?
What if standing out was an inside job?

Curtis is the CEO & founder of Portland Leather Goods (a super cool company) which started on a dare, when he took a scrap of leather, designed a journal, and propelled it into a $100,000,000 a year brand.

After all, if you're a professional service provider, sales is probably not your core expertise and none of us want to come off as a 'salsey-weirdo.'

Ever wondered how to captivate your audience in less than a minute?
The secret to grabbing & holding attention these days is keeping it short and to the point. This is especially true when it comes to video.
And even if you've NEVER imagined yourself as a video content creator, there is a super simple way to create great video content of you spontaneously sharing your best insights.
By far the easiest & most common way to spread your message to the right audience is to be a guest on somebody else's podcast.

Are you ready for success & exponential growth? This year?
'cause, here's the thing:
Our minds are mostly trained to guard against failure. After all 70% of startups fail in years 2-5 so we really need to be thinking about future-proofing
But, when it comes to the future, ask yourself this: how would your business change if you could triple your revenue overnight? If you could get not one, but 100 of your dream clients?
It would be great, right? It could be. But only if you’re ready for it.
While you may have a ton of backup plans for failure I'll bet you don't have any for massive success.
We think a lot about the worst thing that could happen and we plan for it, but it's rare that we do this for the best-case scenarios.
It's more important than ever for us to imagine a successful & sustainable future... To help us do that, I invited digital marketer & trend analyst, Adriana Tica onto the Standout Business Show.

If you're selling higher ticket 1:1 coaching or consulting, be careful: 'cause there's a problem with "how-to" content.

So, how do you take charge of your financial well being and reach a level of financial independence?
Answering that question is the life's work & mission of this week's guest, Leah Garcia - Financial Professional.

I'm sure you've seen the big promises: "Get 10,000 leads in the next 30 days..." or some such nonsense...
But if you're like me that promise can still leave you feeling like there must be some secret that you don't know.

Because without leads you don't have a business. So of course lead generation is on top of your mind.
Even if you're good at it, you still need to think about it all the time.
And because of that there are a lot of stories and myths that actually may be holding you back.

Well today's guest on the Standout CEO Show, Liz Hamlet "The Success Spark", has certainly been charting new and different territory.

Is it possible to build a successful business as a company of one working just 5 hours/day?
My next guest on the Standout CEO Show, Trevor Blake is a creator and builder of successful home-based companies.
In 2010, Trevor was running 3 companies simultaneously from home while working less than 5 hours a day.
Although he built a network of part-time contractors to run various functions of the companies, he never hired a single employee.
The combined value of the companies was around $600 million.
In this episode we're going to talk about the practical magic - yes magic - that will allow you to do the same.
We’re conditioned to think that the harder we work, the more we achieve…
But Trevor is joining us to demonstrate how the opposite is scientifically and psychologically true.

Isn't it time you got serious about short form video?
Heading into 2023 it's become clear that all of the eyeballs on social media are on TikTok, Instagram Reels & Youtube Shorts.
If you post short form video consistently on any of these platforms, their algorithms will reward you by showing your content, and spreading your message, to more and more people.
There's probably never been a greater way to grow your personal brand, and build that know, like and trust factor at scale than with short form video content.
Even if you're feeling late to the game this is a great time to go full speed ahead with short form video this year.
To spark this conversation I've invited Digital Marketing coach Neal 🎙 Schaffer onto the Standout CEO Show and he's going to help break down how you can benefit from creating a short form strategy that works for your business and some of the pitfalls to avoid.

People have been talking more and more about building community rather than focusing on building a huge, large audience.
So, as we're looking forward to the new year, why do YOU think it's become so important to build an engaged community for YOUR business?
And why should you focus LESS on attracting a big crowd and MORE on getting the right people to stay?
One of the biggest mistakes I see when people make videos (or post any kind of content) is that they treat their content like a broadcast instead of a conversation.
I like to think about content creation like church on Sunday - call and response.
Only in this case you want the people in your audience to prompt response from you!
Today's episode is a replay of an interview I did with Ben Toalson, who's the lead video content creator at Podia - an online course and community building platform for creators.
In episode Ben is sharing his best secrets for building an engaged community on video that grows and sustains your business.

Or, even worse, have you ever followed through on a goal but found yourself in a place you really didn't want to be?

How do you sell with a story?
If you've read any book about storytelling for business you've probably heard the advice, "make your customer the hero, and you be the guide."
But today's guest on the Standout CEO Show is challenging that conventional storytelling wisdom.
Business storyteller and storytelling coach, Dan Manning, says that when you're telling a story to sell, start by telling your own story in a way that shows that youunderstand your customer's problem and then shows how you solved it.
Listen up as Dan breaks down how you can tell the kind of personal story that doesn't just communicates your product or service, but also shares who you are as well.

You've likely heard this before: "In order to have a successful online business, you absolutely need a funnel!"
After all, a funnel promises to automate your business - magically bringing you clients while you sip piña coladas🍹on the beach, right?
The problem is that a funnel is impersonal. Your Funnel reduces your prospects to numbers.
You're forcing people down a path and squeezing them, round pegs and square pegs alike, through a small hole.
Funnels treat people like cattle. 🐮 Or sheep 🐑
Enter today's guest on the Standout CEO Show, Robb Gilbear, founder of GrowthHabit.org.
Robb suggests that instead of a funnel that you need to build a rocket ship where potential clients excitedly volunteer for the ride, enjoy the journey, and the clients who join you for the adventure stay with you for longer.
Buckle up - today we're headed for the Milky Way...!

Have you ever thought that maybe all the digital marketing you're doing might actually be hurting your business?
That you're not “breaking through the noise,” you're just adding to it?
Perhaps you're not simply “one funnel away.” Maybe your funnel is preventing the big fish you want from seeing your bait.
Our guest on this episode of The Stand Out CEO Show, Tom Schwab, wants you to consider that you are just One Conversation Away from a rich life and a profitable business.

The way you shop online is changing. Live streaming has become a super popular way to shop for items, and Live Commerce is at the forefront of this new trend.
But, so far the main venues for live shopping have been limited to private platforms like QVC or via affiliates operating on Amazon.
Now there's a brand new way to set up live shopping video on your own website & on your social media accounts (yes, multicast!).
Your video is linked directly to your Shopify, Square or Woocommerce & lets viewers click on the video, go directly to the product page and purchase - all while your live video keeps streaming!!
Mind. Officially. Blown.

What are the secrets to productivity, growth mindset AND happiness? In our hustle culture world, is it even possible to be super productive, achieve remarkable growth and be happy?
There's certainly many examples of business leaders who's business has become successful who aren't happy. And for the rest of us who are still struggling to stand out, to reach our goals - how can we be happy along the way?
Or do we have it all backwards? That maybe happiness comes first. That our goals and dreams can only flow from creating a mindset of happiness.
These are the questions that my guest, Yuri Choi has been asking in her work as a performance coach and with her new book, "Creating Your Own Happiness."If you're inspired by today's episode and you're ready to build a stand out business and void getting lost in the crowd then I have an invitation. I'd love to talk with you about how to make your brand uniquely compelling, effective and radically different.
I've still have a few spots in my calendar for a standout business breakthrough session where we can make a plan for you to become a Standout CEO.

You don't become a stand out CEO all by yourself. It takes a whole ecosystem of your network and community. Your relationships with your family, your friends, your colleagues, your team and your clients and customers all contribute to make or break your business.
And yet, when we get swept away by our emotions, whether positive or negative, we can either be carried off to dreamland or spiral down into doomland depending on how we're feeling in the moment. Neither of which is good for our work or relationships or well being.
So, how can you gain control to use your emotions as an asset? How can you learn to harness raw emotion and use it as a platform to relate to your world?
These are the questions that my guest, LeeAnah James, has been tackling in her work as an Emotional Intelligence coach.
Join our conversation we talk about the exact framework LeeAnah uses to help you take charge of your emotions and start taking charge of your work & your life.
Most of things you read about how to have storytelling success focus on your imagination, or the ideas you have, or on brainstorming.
But, all of that is quite far down the funnel.
At the very beginning you don't even know what your ideas are.
You don't even know what you should be talking about.
You don't know anything.
All you have is a blank screen 📺
But you do have stories, you have ideas & you have knowledge within you that's priceless.
Let's talk about how you can tap into your self expression as your way to stand out that could be the basis of career or a product or a whole business.

However, you know that writing a book not as simple as snapping your fingers and making it happen. So, if you think you've got a book in you & you’re planning to build your expert platform by publishing a book, then you definitely want to tune into this episode.
My guest, Jeremy Jones is sharing how your well-written and strategically marketed book can help you establish yourself as an industry thought leader, boost your speaking engagements, and grow your profitable coaching or consulting practice.

How you can monetize a small audience?
We've all been told that the thing we need to do in order to be successful online is to reach and grow a large audience.
And after we've attracted a big audience and earned their attention and earned their trust, then - after all that happens - then we can start making money.
But, in this episode, my guest, Ina Coveney, is here to challenge that conventional wisdom.
Ina is a business coach for online coaches. She's the host of the Global Phenomenom podcast - which I highly recommend listening to. And her program is called Get Clients First.
So this is not Grow Your Audience first - it's clients first. You don't have to wait!
Imagine if you didn't have to spend all of next year promoting on social media trying to reach and grow the biggest audience possible.
What if you could actually make your living doing what you love - right away by getting clients first and monetizing a tiny audience. How do we do that?
That's what we're talking about, so stay tuned!!

There used to be only three ways to get noticed: Buy expensive advertising, get the mainstream media to tell your story for you, or hire a huge sales staff to interrupt & tell people individually about your products.
But now, with the myriad of new opportunities to market and promote yourself online, the key to success (and to standing out) is to think more like a journalist and publish amazing content that will build trust and affinity for your brand.
These ideas form the main premise of the newly published 8th edition of "The New Rules of Marketing & PR" written by my guest, David Meerman Scott.
As we've seen over the past two years where we could not meet one another face-to-face, the kind of online marketing that David writes about in his book has become even more essential.
Here's the key takeaways from this episode:
Stay tuned for a deep discussion of what are the new rules of marketing that work today and how you can harness them to help your own brand stand out!

We all know how much first impressions count. And you only get one chance to make a good first impression.
So, with so many first time encounters happening via people bumping into your online profile, it's more important than ever for you to stand out with a personal bio that reveals the multifaceted human with a powerful story that you are.
But what stories should be telling in your bio? Is there a specific framework that you should follow to help shine a light on the things you stand for and believe in? How do you create a bio that captures your particular magic?
To answer these questions I've invited The Bio Writer, Christina Lawrence onto the show to talk about how you can capture your unique brilliance in a bio that speaks to the essence of you.
We've all been exposed to so many 'must do' marketing strategies insisting that we need to reach a big following online or build a complicated funnel, or (you fill in the blank...)
But what if we could forget all that?
What if the secret to truly great marketing had nothing to do with what most of the marketing gurus are telling you?
My guest in today's episode is Christina Frei, founder of InnateMarketingGenius.com
And here's the thing that Christina's figured out: The key to standing out in the market - it isn't outside your business, it's not the funnel you've built or the webinar you host or the ad campaign you run - it's inside you.
Stay tuned! Get ready to discover your innate marketing genius.
Today's episode is all about how my guest, Aimee Montgomery, used LinkedIn to grow her digital marketing & business coaching agency.
We really went deep into the details of exactly how she pulled this off - landing 20 new clients in her first month just from building relationships on the LinkedIn platform.
BUT, I also want to share some huge news!
I've combined my LinkedIn Live Jumpstart Masterclass with a bonus bundle and I'm offering it to listeners of this podcast right now for half off!

Here's a new angle for why you might consider starting a podcast this year.
Podcast content marketing can be a powerful way to build an audience for your business and there are a growing number of ways to monetize a podcast effectively.
For example, podcast listeners are perfectly primed to be receptive to online courses, and have the disposable income to pay for them.
Just imagine: Instead of letting your old articles or videos sit on your website with little to no traffic, you could use the same information to create an exciting podcast series that reaches a brand new audience.
But what are the most innovative ways that podcasts are being produced right now that will help you grow your audience?
To help explore these and so many other reasons why starting a podcast could work for you, I've invited Mark Asquith onto The Live Stream Show. Mark is known as 'That British Podcast Guy' and is founder & CEO of Captivate.fm which is a podcast hosting service.
Why is it becoming so important to build an engaged community for your business?
Why should you focus more on getting people to stay than attracting the largest crowd?
And how can you be using video to create raving fans who binge on all your content and start bringing all their friends?
To help answer these questions I've invited Ben Toalson onto The Live Stream Show. Ben is the Video Content Marker for Podia, a platform that provides creators with everything they need to create & sell courses, webinars, downloads and build community.
In this episode we take a deep dive into how you can use video to build an engaged community that grows and sustains your business.

Thanks for tuning into this week’s episode of The Live Stream Show!
If you love this episode and you’re loving The Live Stream Show series, there’s one thing that I would love for you to do:
Tell one friend.
Share this episode with someone who you know who is a creator, who’s looking at doing video and they want to get better at it.
You can help us grow the community of the people who are using video to make better things that make things better.
Whether you're delivering presentations, speaking at conferences or facilitating meetings, the last two years have taught us that it's now essential to learn how to communicate virtually.
As we move into the future, this is not going away.
Most major conferences are going to continue to offer on online component.
Many employees and entrepreneurs are going to continue to run their businesses remotely.
And those who master virtual communication skills are the ones who will excel as leaders in the 'new normal.'
In this edition of The Live Stream Show I've invited communication coach, Laurie Schloff to help us enhance our virtual speaking and communication skills.
Laurie is the author of 'Smart Speaking' and has appeared on Oprah and the Today Show. (Imagine that? After listening to Laurie you'll be one degree of separation with Oprah!)
All of your efforts in promoting your work and getting your name out there usually revolve around attracting as many new people as possible.
But, here's the truth: How many people you attract is not nearly as important as who stays.
So what can you do to keep people coming back?
When you're publishing your content marketing stuff - your live videos, your podcast or your LinkedIn newsletter - how do you attract your ideal clients who will binge all your content, buy everything you sell and come back for more?
I've invited Tracy Hazzard, host of The Binge Factor' podcast, on to help answer these questions. Tracy has interviewed & coached hundreds entrepreneurs & content creators to help them discover what they have to share that will give them that sticky quality that will keep people coming back again and again.
Buckle up!
When you want to learn something new what do you do? I'm betting you look for a video that will show you how to do what you're looking for.
Consumption of online video has skyrocketed in the past two years since we've all been working from home and social distancing.
So, if you’re serious about teaching others, growing your business, or building an online course, instructional videos have turned out to be the best delivery method.
But how do you make a great instructional video? How do you create video that shows how instead of telling how?
For this episode of the Live Stream Show I've invited Andy Owen on to help answer these questions. Andy is the social engagement and video manager at Techsmith the company behind the amazing screen recorder & video editing software, Camtasia.
We took a deep dive into the hows and whys of sharing your wisdom on video.
Stay tuned!
How do you maintain your creative flow when it comes to creating video content? (or any other kind of content). How do you stay inspired within the constant grind of posting on social media?
The conventional advice for being consistent is to batch your content. For example, you shoot several videos in one morning so that you're able to produce a lot in a short amount of time.
But, what happens on the day you've scheduled to shoot your video when you're just not feeling it? Or you're distracted by some fire you have to put out in your business?
You can end up forcing yourself to make your content in spite of how you're feeling - and it will show. Your energy just won't be there and your content will suffer.
And if this keeps happening, you can start to burn out. I know. I've been there!!
So, what I'm sharing in this episode is what's really worked for me in not just creating content on a consistent basis, but how you can create truly amazing video content that lights you up inside and creates real change for your clients.
How can you leverage LinkedIn for lead generation, without without spending a penny on ads or investing time in building funnels? How do you develop your content strategy so that it positions you as an authority within your field and spurs engagement?
My guest, Molly Stovold, joins The Live Stream Show to address these questions. She's created a LinkedIn Lead-Gen System that's focused on permission-based marketing that will build you a network of supportive, engaged professionals - organically.
Without ads. Without funnels.
Molly helps online entrepreneurs, therapists, business coaches, startups, NGOs, and service providers, who show up for themselves and their businesses every day, yet struggle to find a growth strategy that works.

All of us creators, myself included, are just absolutely killing ourselves by doing tons and tons of how to videos and tons of educational and value content – because we all believe that this is the thing that we really need to be doing.
Coming to the market place in our zone of genius and constantly teaching about the thing that we know best.
And I’m going to say that this could be one of the things that’s absolutely hurting your business right now.
In this video I’m sharing what I think is probably the most powerful thing that you can do when you are talking to your audience, especially when you’re making a video.
I know that this is going against the grain of what everyone is teaching but I have to stand up for something and this is what I’m about to say.
Why would this be a bad thing?
Well, when you’re only talking about the thing that you know, there’s a couple of problems with that.
I don’t care what niche you’re in or what field you’re talking about or what your expertise is, the information that you have to share is not that valuable.
In fact, it’s already available everywhere. You can search for it on YouTube or you can do a quick Google search and you’ll probably get 10,000 results for whatever question you have.
If the answer to everybody’s problem was just a little bit more information, then we’d all be rich. We’d all be slender and have lost our 50 pounds. We’d all have a beautiful spouse. We’d all have great jobs. We’d all be living this fantastic life.
And yet here we are in the information age, and all this information has been dumped upon us, and most of us are in the same spot that we were before the time of the Internet.
So if information alone isn’t the answer then what is the thing that you really should be trying to focus on when you’re coming to the marketplace and you’re wanting to stand out amongst all of the people who are shouting and talking about the same kinds of things that you’re talking about?
You want to come forward with something that’s a bit polarizing.
And you want to talk to your audience in a way that first of all they feel like you understand them. It’s not important that they understand you as much as you make them feel like you understand them.
You want to make this personal connection in that way and by understanding them, you know that they have a belief system and it’s probably a limiting belief that is keeping them where they are, and keeping them from getting the thing that they would like that your business can help them with.
And so there’s a before-and-after here and you want to come to their mindset knowing what their limiting belief is – and you want to challenge that belief.
You want to bust it right open. You want to challenge this myth that they’ve created in their head and you want to bust it.
You want to have them go, “Oh my gosh, I’ve never thought about it this way.”
This is probably the most powerful thing that you can do when you are talking to your audience, especially when you’re making a video.
So in the very next video that you make I want you to be thinking about what does my audience currently believe? What is the conventional wisdom that everybody is accepting that I know is limiting them, that I know that I want to challenge, that I know that if we think about it in this new way, then everything will change?
And this is the way that you want to be approaching the next piece of content that you create.

As a creator entrepreneur you can often find yourself making things way more complicated than they need to be. And this is especially true when it comes to social media and video content creation.
For the generation that identifies as 'digital immigrants,' who often feel anxious and/or left behind by the fast changing world of technology, there's a growing need for guidance in pivoting to the online business world.
My guest, Diana Gladney, joined us to share the innovative ways she's been developing as a creator entrepreneur and how she's helping others do the same - with video content & live video.

Welcome to a whole new season's worth of content that I want to embark on. I want to find out who is doing the most remarkable stuff out there.

If you're a content creator and a content entrepreneur and you're probably wondering how you can make great content that will resonate with your audience, attract them to you and actually start growing your business.
Here's the thing.
You can spend a lot of time creating that one piece of really great content but, because there's a ton of noise out there, that one piece can get lost.
You're convinced that your message is the best thing for your audience out there and if you don't share it, you're doing a dis-service to the world. And you want to multiply that as much as you can.
So how can you do this without spending a ton of time???
That's what I'm uncovering in this video: Here's my #1 secret to what makes good content marketing - especially for live video.
To get ahead in whatever business you're in, the truth is… you've got to be able to create inspiring content!
If you don't, you’ll simply get lost in the noise of other businesses competing for your potential customers' attention.
Most people believe that you have to spend thousands on creative agencies and professional photographers to create outstanding content, but that's actually not true!
If you’re a self-employed entrepreneur or business owner, and you don't know how to effortlessly create content that inspires your customers, now's your chance to learn!
I've invited photographer and videographer, Pete Longworth onto The Live Stream Show to talk about how you can create remarkable content that will attract the right audience.
After 18 years in the content creation industry, Pete believes that creating amazing content comes down to authenticity, creativity, strategy and implementation and he's going to share some of his secrets on this episode.
if you're already creating content for social media, your website, ads or emails and you want to stand out instead of adding to the noise, then this episode is for you.

Over the past two years practically everyone who shifted into working from home experienced the space and time to reflect on how they've always done their work.
So many are questioning the idea of 'going back' to their job the way things were. This has led to what trend spotters are calling 'the great resignation' where more and more people are striking out on their own to live 'the self-employed life.'
It's looking super attractive and motivated by the desire to have more freedom, more flexibility and the ability to follow your true passion and purpose, right?
But, and this is a BIG but...
Most of us who've chosen the work-for-yourself route have discovered that it often involves working longer and harder, having less time and less money, more uncertainty and overwhelm.
You can easily find yourself running in a never-ending gerbil wheel of your own making - and feeling like you're getting nowhere fast.
So now what?
As a solo entrepreneur, how can you avoid this fate?
Well, to help answer these questions I've invited Jeffrey Shaw on The Live Stream Show to unpack how you can live your best self-employed life.
Jeffrey became one of the most preeminent portrait photographers in the United States. He decided to share his knowledge of business, branding, and marketing to support self-employed and small business owners as well as progressive-minded companies.

In today's episode, I'm sharing my best tips and the strategies that I'll be implementing in the New Year to build my personal brand.
You want your personal brand to be rock solid.
And in this day and age, if you're in the digital immigrant generation, you may be feeling like the whole digital marketing train has left the station - without you on it.
More than ever there's new strategies that we can all implement to make sure that our personal brand stands out in a sea among the millions and millions of younger folks who are trying to build their name and build their brand online.
If you have any sort of presence online, you have a personal brand and in this episode I'm going to do an end of the year wrap up of what worked for myself and my clients and share the new direction I'm most excited about moving into in 2022!
Episode Resources:
Mic Drop Moments - Become the face of your business with short, insightful videos that leverage your brand awareness.
Remote Video Producer - Power you personal brand with a stand out video podcast.
How do you get people to come and join you when you go live? The best part about doing live video is having a live audience to engage with. So, there's nothing more depressing when you go live and you can see that no one is watching. :(
In this episode I'm sharing my system to get more live viewers on Facebook Live, on LinkedIn Live and also on Youtube Live.
Here's my complete breakdown of what you need to do - before you go live, while you're live and, most importantly, what you can do after you go live - to ensure that more and more people are joining your live streams.
Get out your notepads because this episode is full of takeaways.
Once you've listened, if you're feeling a bit overwhelmed when you start thinking about doing all this promotional work. I have good news!
Let me take it off your hands and do it all for you!!!
I've just launched two new, done-for-you services for remote live video production.
Check them out here:
Mic Drop Moments - Imagine sitting down for a remote interview session where you’re asked a set of questions that are designed to tease out your best insights and thought leadership.
Within a single interview session you’ve created a complete set of short, social video posts that are scheduled to be posted to all your social media platforms for an entire month.
You meet just one time per month, via remote video interview, and the rest of your social media video branding is done for you - that's Mic Drop Moments!
Remote Video Production - I'll become your full-service remote video producer. You show up as the ‘talent’ & I'll handle all the rest. I'll make producing your live video podcast a whole lot easier, more profitable, and less time-consuming to create.
When you think of going live most people are thinking about using Facebook or Instagram.
But what about Youtube? It's the biggest video channel so wouldn't it make sense to stream there?
And did you know that LinkedIn just opened up its live streaming feature for all users? And then there's Twitter, Twitch & TikTok...
Or could you multicast to go live to all these places at the same time!?
To help us choose the right place to go live I've invited Rob Balasabas onto The Live Stream Show. Rob was the community manager at Tubebuddy (a Youtube tool that gives creators advanced analysis of their video performance) and now he has a similar role with Uscreen (a video content platform that allows creators to monetize their videos).
Rob also has his own Youtube channel and has been a big live streamer there so he brings a perspective that's both sides of the video creator journey.

LinkedIn just rolled out their live video feature to all users! This is great news. The only question is, "Should YOU start going live on LinkedIn?"
Here's a few good reasons:
✅ LinkedIn Live video streaming allows you to build deeper connections and drive more engagement with the world’s largest professional community.
✅ Live videos get, on average 7x more reactions and 24x more comments than native video produced by the same people.
✅ 87% of viewers would prefer to watch online vs. on television if it meant more behind-the-scenes content.
And that's just scratching the surface.

It's time to talk results. Is all the social media stuff you're doing actually working for your business?
Too many people who are going live are looking at their vanity metrics, (think likes and views). But these metrics are missing the point.
Likes and views don't pay the rent.
So today I'm going to give you the four questions you need to be asking that will make all the difference in getting the results you want in your live videos (and any other social media or marketing content you're creating)
Michelle Mercier, is on a mission to put humanity back in business.
And why is that a good idea?
The universe tends to throw us big curve-balls (think global pandemic). So, in order to foster the resilience to succeed despite ever-changing circumstances, you need to cultivate those so-called 'soft skills'.
Here's the key: if you give yourself permission to design the life you want—at work and home— you can finally enjoy your own definition of professional success.

This episode is a little rant about what I call, "The Fake Marketing Premise."
This is the message that almost all marketing gurus are spreading: "Become an Extrovert of Become Irrelevant."
It's a message that says the only way to be successful is to show up everywhere and shout louder than everyone else.
Why is it fake?
Because, if you're not an extrovert, then you have to pretend to be one in order to succeed.
Grant Cardone and Gary Vaynerchuk are probably the two biggest purveyors of this school of thought.
Their message is basically, "Be like us! Become something you're not. And if you don't do that you're going to be left behind."
But, there's a completely different option available. You don't need to change who you are at all. You can build a system around you that takes advantages of your strengths, makes up for your weaknesses and allows you to be who you are.
It's what I've done with my Big Reach Broadcast System which is designed for introverted experts: coaches, consultants, authors who are like you. And you might find that it's the right marketing system for you too.

If you hate webinars like I do, stick with me and I’ll show you why I believe short form audio can give you better engagement.
Yes, I hate webinars.
It’s because they almost always involve some guy going on and on with a “rags to riches” story and how he overcame big challenges and how you can too by following his “secret formula.” And then, after giving you a couple of quick tips, goes on to pitch his online course that costs a thousand dollars or more.
I end up feeling like I just wasted an hour.
And if you’ve been hosting webinars, even ones that give great value have a hard time getting those who register to actually show up (only about 1/3rd on average) and getting those who show up to stay until the end when you make your offer.
The truth is most people are too busy to dedicate an hour or more to sit in front of a computer and watch a webinar – no matter how good it might be. It’s just too demanding.
Over the past year, I’ve started using a different medium. One that allows people to learn what they’re looking for on their own time and in a way that fits into their busy schedules.
It’s private audio.
Instead of an hour-long webinar (or even a multi-day challenge) you can host a short form audio series of 4-8 episodes. Your audience can subscribe to it and listen to it on their favorite podcast app on their phone.
While they’re driving. .
Or walking their dog.
Or taking their kids to school.
Because it’s a podcast, they’re so much more likely to binge-listen to the whole series. (93% podcast fans listen to most of an episode.) They get to learn from you in an intimate, 1-1 setting. And they can see clearly if they’re a good for your offer.
And here’s the good news.
I’ve created a free training, along with Linda Morrison, that will walk you through the strategy of creating an audio lead magnet and nurture sequence you can create to grow your audience.
You can get the FREE training right here.
Yes, the Big Reach Audio Guide is a private podcast so you’ll get a first-hand experience in how this strategy works!
Bonus: I brought Linda on to share her thoughts on the advantages to creating an audio lead magnet instead of hosting a live webinar.

Just like you, your ideal clients are busy. They don’t have time to sit in front of a computer screen, watching 60-minute masterclass videos or reading long e-books just to get the information they need.
So, what if there was a way to give your leads the information they need in an easy-to-digest format that works with their busy lives...
...and they be excited to start working with you and come to your sales call with 100% certainty that your offer is the solution they’ve been looking for?
Imagine how it would feel...
🎤 To only hop on sales calls with prospects who are already ready and excited to work with you.
🎤 To easily point inquiries to the information they need, instead of hopping on a “quick call” or responding to dozens of DMs.
🎤 To free up those endless hours currently reserved for social media posting and be able to devote more time to the work you love.
🎤 To feel like the way you sell your offers is informative, valuable, and service-first — never pushy or sleazy.
🎤 To work exclusively with clients who truly understand the value of what you do, trust your expertise, and are excited about collaborating with you (and want to pay you for your skills).

For example, do you have a mindset that believes:
💰 Making money is hard?
😟 No one will see me as an expert?
📈 Sales is sleazy?
Well, join our conversation while talk about Jackie's methods that don't simply challenge your limiting beliefs, but actually carve new pathways in your brain (yes, brain science!)

Most people using social media are following the conventional influencer strategy:
Post all the time & everywhere with the hope that you'll eventually grow a big audience and some of those people will eventually decide to buy from you... "someday"
Here's my take:
If you want to impress people, make things complicated.
But, if you want to help them, keep it simple.
I've helped my clients do three things:
In this episode I'd like to break down this strategy in detail - and show you how simple it can be :))

Is the 4 Hour Work Week a myth? Or could it actually be possible? Have you ever seen an example of anyone who was successfully running their business on just 4 hours per week?
This is the exploration that I'd like to take you on. I've been embarking on a new approach to my own work - especially as it relates to creating content (i.e. live video) to market my business, connect with an audience who cares and close sales.
...with the restriction of spending no more than 4 hours per week to accomplish operating a multi-six figure business.
Can it be done?
And why live video...?
Today I'll be mapping out the simple strategy that I've developed this past year that you can use as well.

Your business solves a BIG problem – you help your clients make positive changes in their life – and that has huge value, right? So, when you start talking with prospective clients, you may be thinking that if you could just show them the great advantages of working with you, they’d be sure to do it.
But describing your process and features, and even your benefits, may not do the trick – no matter how good a job you do of describing your work.
You’re fishing with awesome bait. Why won’t they bite?
The reason is… they don’t think it’s possible.
And this isn’t because they don’t believe you. It’s because they don’t believe in themselves.
What can you do to help them when they’ve become non-believers? …when they’ve lost their faith?
The answer is simple: tell them a good story about people just like them who overcame the same challenges they're facing.
Enter the testimonial video. Today we're talking about how you can create powerfully persuasive video that gives your audience the experience of the transformation you offer.

How can you grow your expert business and get all the clients & customers you want from social media, online marketing and, yes, live video? Join my guest, business growth consultant & marketing and sales strategist, Ann Carden, as we walk though how you can:
💥 Build your business online without spending any money on ads
💥 How you can magnetically attract premium clients, customers and opportunities daily
💥 Turn cold leads into raving fans & hot prospects
and so much more...!
Ann Carden is the author of, "The Expert In You" and host of "The Strategic Edge" podcast. Ann has founded and built six businesses of her own and has sold five of those businesses and therefore has personally experienced all the struggles, frustrations, pitfalls and mistakes many small business owners make when they are growing their companies.
How often are you trying to fit in as you navigate through the business world?
Are adopting business jargon? Are wearing the clothes (a.k.a. uniform) that matches your profession?
Highlighting only those past experiences that make you seem more professional?
Just so you’ll fit in?
In the attempt to succeed we often try to hide parts of who we really are.
But, what would happen if you did the opposite?
How can you highlight your differences & make them your biggest advantage?
I’m sharing the story of Akira Armstrong, who’s an extremely talented dancer and choreographer, but didn’t have the typical body type for the dance world.
So, instead of trying to fit into a mold she featured who she is and founded “The Pretty Big Movement” that’s breaking stereotypes.
With the rise of social media and proliferation of smartphones, video content has become a staple in the digital age.
According to global research company eMarketer, 60% of internet users watch videos every day. So, if you're a video content creator and you want to grow your business using video, how can you monetize all those videos that you're posting?
Hint: Youtube may not be the best answer.
Today's guest, PJ Taei, has taken on this challenge and built a video platform, called Uscreen, that's enabled thousands of creators to host streaming video content, that viewers can pay for, either on demand or live.
Join us live as we take a deep dive into what it takes to set up and launch your own Netflix-like video platform to take your live video creation to the next level.

If you're posting content on social media then you know that:
So, what can you do to ensure that the right people will notice all the work you're doing and the important message you're sharing?
First of all, you need a strategy for creating your content that's streamlined so that it doesn't take you a lot of time - so you don't get burned out and just plain give up.
My method of choice: Go Live Regularly - for the biggest reach in the least amount of effort.
So now, since we're talking video, you need a method - a framework and process - that will capture people's attention so they'll start watching and keep them watching until the end.
That framework and process I call Livestream Leverage. This is a 3-part framework which includes Mythbusting and Telling Stories That Sell.

What is Eye Hacking and what does it have to do with making super engaging videos?
A few weeks ago I posted this question: "What topic could you talk about passionately for 18 minutes without preparing?"
Among the many comments, I got a two-word response from videographer, Paul Martin, "Eye hacking."
I had to know.
What the heck is eye hacking? And that's why, for this week's episode of The Live Stream Show, I've invited Paul on to tell us.
Paul says, "I've been studying visual perception and gestalt psychology to make videos more engaging and effective for brands. It's what directors like David Fincher and cinematographers like Villenueve have been doing in movies for the past 10 years."
Sound super cool? 😎
In this episode we're uncovering the secrets of the masters to make your videos more engaging.

We've all been taught that stress is something to be avoided – that we need to remove stress from our lives as best we can.
This has been the conventional wisdom for decades.
But what if rethinking stress as a friend rather than a foe could serve to make stress something that works for us, rather than against us? What if there was such a thing as Good Stress?
This is the question that my guest on this week's show has been exploring.
About a year ago, during the start of the pandemic, yoga & meditation instructor David Magone found that he needed to pivot from in-person classes to online instruction.
At the same time he also rose to the immediate need that he saw globally - that everyone on the planet needed to boost their immunity to help them survive the pandemic.
So he developed his Good Stress method.
The idea is both contrary to conventional wisdom and utterly simple. We've all been taught that stress is a leading cause of multiple health issues, but David started experimenting and found that "good stress" actually makes you healthier, stronger & more successful by optimizing your immune system.
In this conversation we'll hear how David successfully pivoted to video by running his teaching online and how you can start practicing "Good Stress" to not only maintain your optimal health but also optimal success.
Episode Highlights:
David walks barefoot across frozen pond and jumps in ice water!
What training David did to allow himself to be comfortable in cold and ice.
Good stress benefits beyond cold water.
Final Takeaway - Something to try right away!

You know how sometimes you meet someone and they're able to bring something out of you that lets you be the kind of person that you don't usually allow yourself be?
Well, I had this kind of experience this past week when I met my guest Victoria Labalme for the first time. But it wasn't just Victoria that gave me permission to open up in new ways - it was her new book - "Risk Forward"
So, it was Last Sunday morning, and I was listening to one of my favorite podcasts - and Victoria was being interviewed - and practically everything she was saying was resonating with me.
She was busting the myth about goal setting - saying you DON"T have to set goals every time you set out to do something new and it's OK to try things out without knowing where you're going.
So, by Tuesday I had downloaded a copy of the book and i'd listened to it twice. and immediately reached out to see if she would be willing to join the show.
Then on Wednesday she got back and asked if this week was possible and so we went live together and recorded this discussion on Thursday.
Victoria Labalme, is a performing artist, performance coach, documentarian (her film Muppet Guys Talking is a must-watch) and she's the author of the new book, "Risk Forward - Embrace the unkown and unlock your hidden genius."
She's performed in film, Television, Broadway and comedy clubs. Now she's helping people unlock their inner genius and perform at the highest levels
So, to paraphrase the opening line of her book, if you're NOT one of the few people who knows exactly what they want in life - then this episode, is for you.
Ariel Viera is the creator of Urbanist, a live video series that takes you into the streets of New York in an intimate and engaging way that only live video can provide.
A film maker and live streaming videographer, Ariel is a true live stream pioneer who's told over 1,000 live video stories while roaming around New York in City.
In this episode Ariel talks about:
Make sure you stay until the end because Ariel breaks down how you can tell compelling stories with live video that will keep your viewers engaged, enthralled, and yearning for more.
Have you ever wondered if there was a way to get more done in less time? If you've ever questioned the culture of workaholics and the idea that the only way to success is to work until you drop, then pay attention to what today's guest has to say.
I had the chance to sit down and talk with Alex Soojung-Kim Pang. He's the author of two books on How to do more by working less. His first book is called "Rest" and his latest release is called "Shorter - work better, smarter and less - here's how"
When his new book, was released last year, Alex was all geared up for a new book tour. He was looking forward to traveling, he was eager to talk about the new book, and make the case for the shorter work week.
But then, just a of couple days after his book came out, the pandemic arrived and shut everything down.
Alex realized that if he couldn’t talk to audiences live, he needed to look and sound as good as he possibly could.
And since it was likely that we’d ALL be doing remote events for a long time to come, he figured that the people who do them well will stand out.
So he’s become an expert on webcams, lighting, sound, and backgrounds – and that’s where we’re going to start our conversation.
Oh yes, and we also talked about how you can do more by working less and hear stories about the businesses who've been able to reduce working hours and yet increase productivity, employee retention and revenue.
Alex's website and post on Building Your Home Studio
