In this installment of AA Connect, Layton Beard is in discussion with Professor Rudolph Zinn and Jaco de Villiers. Professor Zinn is a professor of Policing and Forensic Investigation at the University of South Africa (Unisa), and a former detective. Jaco de Villiers is the CEO of Casi – a mobile armed response app which geo-locates users for quick response times. The discussion in this episode focusses on the crime situation in South Africa – specifically during and after lockdown. As a basis for the discussion is the AA’s 2nd State of Security Report which researched this topic and whose findings were released in late November. Jaco gives insights into current security trends in South Africa and how AA Armed Response is becoming an important tool for people to remain safe and secure wherever they are.
