Dr. Christine Kelley has practiced in the Indianapolis area since 1999, currently as an associate with Meridian Plastic Surgeons. She specializes in reconstructive and cosmetic surgeries for the full body, with a particular interest in breast and torso surgery. She draws upon her extensive experience in clinical wound healing and reconstructive surgery to also address the cosmetic surgery needs of many of her patients. As technologies and patient preferences have changed over the years, she has developed an interest in minimally invasive and non-invasive treatments to improve aging concerns on the face and body with less downtime and recovery. When surgery is required, she has made an effort to learn about new techniques to reduce bruising, swelling, pain and scarring. In December of 2015, she treated her first patient for complaints of breast implant illness (BII). Hundreds of others followed, and explant surgery has become a significant and fulfilling part of her practice. In September of 2019, she was privileged to begin collaboration with Dr. Mithun Sinha and others at the Indiana University School of Medicine. Together, they are trying to better understand the mechanisms responsible for a pathologic host immune response related to breast implants.

The Better Yoo Project: Optimizing Health, Hormones, and Aesthetics

In this episode of The Better Yoo Project, your host Lexi Yoo, NP, and special guest Haley Cook, NP, delve into the fascinating world of IV NAD therapy and its impact on mitochondria, the powerhouse of our cells.

IV NAD, or Intravenous Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide, is a natural coenzyme crucial for energy metabolism and cellular communication. Through IV NAD therapy, NAD levels can be increased, leading to improved mitochondrial function, enhanced energy production, and potential anti-aging benefits.

Haley and Lexi highlight the significance of mitochondrial health in the anti-aging process and discuss how optimizing mitochondrial function can positively impact overall well-being.

The episode emphasizes that IV NAD therapy is best utilized under the guidance of qualified healthcare professionals. Alongside this therapy, lifestyle factors such as regular exercise, a nutrient-rich diet, adequate sleep, stress management, and avoiding toxins can further support mitochondrial health and anti-aging goals.

Ozone and UBI provide a “healthy stressor” to the body. This can do a couple things. For healthy tissue, it can increase oxygen supply, healing, and tissue repair through multiple pathways stimulated by the therapy. For infections, damaged cells, and autoimmunity it can help decrease inflammation, calm the overactive immune system or modulate the immune system to more effectively fight an infection.

➡️Who should consider Ozone UBI? Ozone and UBI Therapy can be done to support a long list of conditions & patient goals! Whether you want to improve performance and recovery, decrease inflammation and autoimmunity, or fight off an infection, ozone & UBI could be beneficial!

➡️How is it done? This therapy is done via IV that takes between 30-45 minutes total. Typically, the therapies are done in packages because the effects are cumulative over time.

➡️When will I see improvement? This is totally patient dependent. This therapy works at the cellular level therefore it might take 1 or it might take 10 treatments to reach the desired effect for YOUR unique situation. Your practitioner will discuss your unique goals and treatment options with you to create a plan that fits your needs.

Semaglutide Benefits:

• Weight Loss

• Neuroprotective

• Improved Fertility

• Improvement of PCOS

• Smoking Cessation

In this episode I have special guest Farah Myers, FNP. Together we cover the frustrations of the traditional health care model.

We explore an alternative to short appointments and long wait times with utilizing direct primary care. Comprehensive care at an affordable price. What does that mean?

Farrah explains what she provides at her practice Cook Creek Family Health-

Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a model of value based primary care that allows the patient (you) better access and a more personal relationship with your primary care provider. DPC takes medicine back to its roots. You get more relaxed visits which is more time with your provider and more time for your provider to think about your care – even when you are not in the office.

By charging a monthly membership fee, we take the insurance company and big health system administrations out of the equation. That is the secret. We eliminate costly transaction processes and fees that traditional insurance practices have to endure. We also drop the “commission based” pressure that big health systems place on providers to see the most patients per day. This means less paperwork, less external interference, open scheduling, no co-pays and upfront pricing. This way we are able to spend more time to ensure you are getting the most individualized care while saving you money.

You will have access to your primary care provider via unlimited office visits, text, e-mail, and video chat to make sure you get excellent care where and when you need it.

DPC is NOT insurance coverage. We are your primary care provider, so we do recommend insurance coverage for major events. We can help guide you to find an insurance plan that works for you.

At Yoo Direct Health, we have transitioned out of primary care and focus primarily on functional medicine, hormone optimization, lifestyle medicine, peptide therapy, aesthetic procedures and so much more in regard to regenerative medicine. I think Farah and her practice is a great place to have our patients seek out their primary care or same days sick needs while keeping Yoo Direct Heath for your functional and aesthetic care!

In this episode I review PDO threads with Dr.Abbie Bledsoe.

Dr.Bledsoe is Family Nurse Practitioner at Ageless Aesthetics.

PDO (Polydioxanone) threads are absorbable sutures that can lift and rebuild the structures of the skin. PDO threads have received FDA clearance and are now recognized as a safe, minimally-invasive alternative to surgical face and neck lifts. Although PDO threads cannot completely replace a full face lift, they can delay the need for surgical procedures as well as increase the longevity of a previous facelift by supporting the skin and preventing sagging and premature wrinkles.

PDO threads are made from Polydiaxanone suture material that has been used in surgical procedures, such as cardiac, osteopathic and plastic surgery for decades. Hypoallergenic and non-pyrogenic, PDO threads are a safe and effective way to lift and tighten sagging skin. Once inserted into the skin, the threads will instantly lift loose skin and continuously stimulate neocollagenesis to improve skin texture, fine lines and wrinkles and the overall firmness of the skin. PDO threads also induces the formation of elastin, which is the main protein constituent of elastic connective tissue in the dermis, which gives you the . By stimulating the growth of bio-identical collagen and elastin in the skin, you can rebuild the building blocks and reverse the signs of aging.

Topics covered:

-Kinds of threads

-Uses of these threads

-Pain management for threads

-After care

What is BHRT? Bioidentical hormones are manmade hormones derived from plant estrogens that are chemically identical to those the human body produces. Estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone are among those most commonly replicated and used in treatment. Bioidentical hormones come in various forms, including: creams, pellets, troches, patches or capsules.

BHRT Components Some bioidentical hormones are made by drug companies. Others, known as compounded bioidentical hormones, are custom made by a compounding pharmacy based on the individualized prescription for the patient.

Traditional vs. Bioidentical Bioidentical hormones are different from those used in traditional hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in that they’re identical chemically to those our bodies produce naturally and are made from plant estrogen. The hormones used in traditional HRT are made from the urine of pregnant horses and other synthetic hormones. Current evidence is inconclusive if bioidenticals are “safer” than traditional hormones.

In this episode we discuss BIOTE pellet therapy, process, costs, aftercare and follow up!
