Choosing a profitable online course topic can be a challenging task, but there are several factors to consider to increase your chances of success. Here are some tips:
Identify your expertise: Choose a topic that you have extensive knowledge about and can teach others effectively. Your expertise should be something that people are willing to pay for. ** But you only have to be one step ahead of them!
Research the demand: Look for popular topics that people are interested in learning more about. You can use tools like Google Trends or social media analytics to gauge the level of interest in a particular topic. **Market research is the key to the game. (Check out episode 78)
Test your idea: Before you invest a lot of time and resources into creating your course, test your idea by creating a landing page or running a survey to gauge interest and gather feedback. *Market Research is key
Find a gap in the market: Look for a niche within your chosen topic that hasn't been extensively covered by other courses. This will help you stand out from the competition. **Blue ocean strategy
Evaluate the competition: Look at what other courses are offering and how they are priced. Try to identify what makes your course unique and why someone would choose to take your course over another. **100M offers
Consider your target audience: Think about who your ideal customer is and what their needs and interests are. This will help you tailor your course content to their specific needs. **build a course on solving a tangible problem
Plan your course structure: Outline the key concepts and skills that you want to cover in your course. This will help you create a structured and organized course that is easy to follow. *Come join the Course mapping workshop

Goal setting feels so new yearsish… and while this episode is coming to you 2 months into the new year, I think now is a great time to talk about it.
Maybe you’re like me… you set one really big goal every single year. People told you to set a good goal, better goal, and best goal. So I did. Year after year.
Most times I felt like it was a crazy number I was pulling out of thin air that barely made any sense. I knew it was the goal but I honestly couldn’t really see the finish line. I couldn’t see how to get there.
Until I learned more about setting quarterly goals. Now I know what you are likely thinking, “take my 2023 goal and divide it into 4 for the four quarters of the year”.
I wanted to share with you a better way. This way will be more attainable and help you to feel accomplishments all along the way.
You might want to grab a pen and paper. If you’re listening in. We will also post this in the show notes!
First we want to start with a goal you have for the next 12 months.
I don’t necessarily believe in making goals per year… as you never know what will happen (like the year my mom was sick and passed away, 2020, etc)
So let’s look at 12 months from where you are right now. Where do you hope to be realistically? I’m always one to tell you to dream bigger BUT I also want you to be realistic.
So let’s set a goal that is just above what you believe is possible for you in the next 12 months. For easy math lets take this ex: $100,000 USD
What is that number? Now increase that goal just a little bit until it feels beyond your reach of your present day self. This number should be where your brain starts to think, “How is that possible?” For ex: $150,000 USD
Ok now instead of dividing by 4, we are going to do this differently because there is something about picking up momentum. Success loves speed BUT we need to be realistic so when we hit the first goal we are feeling like we are ready to hit the next and the next.
Write down your 12 month date from now-from when you are listening to this.
Now we are going to look at those 12 months by quarters (3 months each).
For Q1: Divide your yearly goal by 10. Write down that number. That is your first goal. (ie. $15,000)
Q2: Take your Q1 goal and multiply it by 2. That is your second quarter goal. So this number should be double your Q1 goal. (ie. $30,000)
Q3: Add Q1 and Q2 together. That is your Q3 goal.
Do you see how the numbers are starting to climb? (ie. $45,000)
Q4: Add Q1 and Q3 together. That should be the highest number out of all three. (ie. $60,000)
So now when you look at those numbers, do you see how Q1 is attainable?
So you just have to tackle that first milestone, pick up the momentum and get ready for the next and the next!
The secret is to have an outcome focused goal (ie. to enroll 10 new students)
This can also help you with your pricing!

In this episode I'm interviewing one of my clients Sundiata Ferguson. Sundiata has an incredible story. He migrated to the US in Dec 1994 and went into the army May 1995. Sundiata suffered a traumatic brain injury while on active duty and was then diagnosed with epilepsy PTSD, anxiety & depression.
Sundiata has used his trial to impact others as an advocate for veterans rights, adaptive athletes, individuals living with epilepsy, and in the fight against mental health. He is also a licensed naturopath and a certified Zig Ziglar Legacy speaker & coach.

Do you ever wonder why some people have seemingly endless confidence and succeed at everything they set their minds to?
Let me let you in on a secret: It’s because they’ve overcome their limiting beliefs.
I have seen hundreds of teachers want to create online courses but be stopped in their tracks by their limiting beliefs.
The top three limiting beliefs teachers have are:
1. Imposter Syndrome ie. "I don't have anything to share. No one will pay me for my expertise."

Is it really possible? ie. "Only people with business degrees can make it happen." or "I'm not smart enough." or "I'm not an extrovert." or "It's only for the lucky ones."

Thinking you won't be able to make enough money. ie. "It's not really possible to make enough money to match my teaching salary."
The good news is you can overcome limiting beliefs.

Often times we think people are watching what we are doing, judging us, and passing judgement. Until someone compliments us on what we're doing or what we've chosen to do, it's really hard to get past that.
Truthfully, it's all about your limiting beliefs.
So many times when we think someone is saying something about us, it actually is not really true.
It is our own limiting beliefs that are coming up. They are telling us we're not able to do it.
Maybe it's a past experience that makes you feel that way.
Maybe you have a limiting belief, thinking, “I am only a teacher. That's all I can do. That's all I'm good at.” But is that necessarily true?
I want you to pay attention to all the thoughts you have in your head throughout the day. The majority of our thoughts in our heads are generally negative. The secret is to transform those thoughts.
