In this episode of the Chef Bai Podcast, Bai dives into the inconsistencies around Thanksgiving as a holiday. She points out the irony of how we as a society, celebrate a day of giving thanks, spending time with loved ones and cooking together, based on a history of exploiting indigenous people. When you uncover the layers of what happened to the indigenous people when the pilgrims came overseas years ago, it’s heartbreaking. Even today, some the most poorly funded, poorly supported communities suffering in the United States are indigenous people. Now is a great time to look into your local indigenous communities and see how you can help give support and love. Bai dares "You" the listener to take a moment and see how we as individuals can give back, give thanks, and give a lil love to those in need of it most.
Bai suggests a crazy concept. Can we stop celebrating thanksgiving?? We can still gather, still cook together, still spend time with family around this time of year, but have it based purely on that. Gathering around community. At the end of the day it’s not about the turkey, it’s about turning off the noise and being present with friends and family.
The “Thanksgiving holiday” is not only poorly associated with the suffering of indigenous people, it’s also associated with the suffering of over 46 million turkeys that get slaughtered each year in the United states for thanksgiving alone. Not to forget that these massive factory farms which execute these horrific deeds, negatively effect the communities living nearby with environmental pollution from animal waste and/or chemicals, and negatively effect the mental health for workers who operate inside and/or around these slaughter houses and factory farms. With all this harm, there has to be a way to bring more compassion into this time of year.
What do you think? How does the Thanksgiving holiday make you feel? Leave a comment!

In this episode of the Chef Bai Podcast, Bai wanted to take a moment to stop and offer a new perspective before rushing into this holiday season.
Especially in western society, Bai explains how each year, we as a collective go though this cycle of ending the year with guilty pleasures & overindulgence, and then starting each year anew, just to end it the same way again. This cycle of consumerism during the holidays can be hard on a lot of us, especially the next day when we inflict guilt on ourselves and say harsh things about our own bodies. Instead of having guilt because we decided to over consume the day before, Bai challenges you to be kind to yourself. To look at yourself in the mirror, and give yourself positive feedback and affirmations throughout the next two months even when you don't feel like it.
She challenges you to be present, and to be aware. To stop and smell the roses and to not punish yourself for enjoying your life. The stress we put on our bodies from negative thoughts can weaken the immune system and be very damaging to the body overall in the long run.
Changing the verbiage and instead of criticizing yourself, trying being your own hype person. If you won’t be your own hype person, who will?? Tune in now!

In this episode of the Chef Bai Podcast, Bai sits down with her husband, Steve and they finally discuss the burning question that Bai receives almost daily, “Are we having a baby?? “
It’s a very loaded question that has many parts to consider, and throughout the next 20 minutes Bailey and Steve break down the pros and cons of bringing a new life into this world. With so many things like the environment, the political climate, healthcare, child care, etc to take into account, it’s nerve wreaking to make the leap from partner to parent. That said, it seems our generation is slowly moving away from conventional traditions, of getting a career, finding a partner, settling down in the suburbs, and raising a family.... to something different and something new!
Bai and Steve challenge the assumption that the next step is always procreation for couples who have been together for an extended amount of time. Rather instead of asking the burning question “are you having a baby?”, to rather ask “what’s next for you two?” Which opens up the conversation in a positive way. It allows for everyone to be seen, heard, and it allows the chance to open up about something that really is important to them, which may or may not be just about kids. Maybe what’s next in the near future are children….but maybe it’s not.

Bai sits down with her husband and business partner, Steve. They catch up with current events and share some insights on the past season of the plant remedy podcast. This last season was full of amazing guests and packed with so much yummy info. Thank you for all our guests and listeners for all the support.
In this episode, Steve starts things off by describing his past two weeks of falling ill to covid and the constant battle of building his immune system. Steve talks about how our nutrition and the food we eat matters so much when it comes to our immune systems. He shows us some examples of what he ate in a day when he was sick that helped build the immune system to heal faster.
Bailey brings up one specific subject that many of our listeners have been waiting for, and that’s microdosing with psilocybin! They share their experiences with microdosing over the past 6 months. It helps people in many ways, and everyones reaction to microdosing is different depending on a variety of factors like age, sex, status, etc. They touch base on the spirituality of psilocybin and how it positively effects your personality, your ego, and past traumas. In our opinion, it changes our perspective on the world we live in, and creates a more lightheartedness to the rough edges of the world.
They talk about boundaries with work and relationships, including both sides of the spectrum. Yes, finding a balance is a never ending chore, but it’s so important to keep some sort of boundary for our own mental health. Now more than ever, our mental health is the most important part for us to keep fully functioning.
Lastly, they share some big news on changes going on in the business. Changes can be rough and unpleasant sometimes, but switching things up can sometimes be the best thing in the long run. Together, Bai & Steve are very optimistic for the future and for the new things coming. This includes our special 2 night event coming up in March 23rd + 24th in our Kitchen Revival Masterclass!

In this episode, Bailey chats with Cyrus Khambatta, PhD who is the Co-founder of Masteringdiabetes. Masteringdiabetes is at the forefront of research into the revolutionary method to reversing insulin resistance in Type 1, Type 1.5, Type 2, Prediabetes, and gestational diabetes using a whole plant based diet and lifestyle approach.
Cyrus shares some childhood stories of growing up an active healthy adolescent, eating mangos by the box, and playing every sport he could. With no clear signs of anything wrong, later on, in his late college years he noticed negative changes in his body. These changes became worse and worse until one day he went to the doctor and was diagnosed with three major autoimmune diseases. From that point on, his life became a battle for his health.
As someone who was diagnosed with these auto immune diseases, he found after years of searching and researching, that a whole food plant based diet was able to help him control and minimize the harsh symptoms of diabetes even after a very short period. His journey into healing helped push his passion into why he was healing. This lead him into going to school for Nutritional Biochemistry to learn exactly how diabetes works on the body.
This eventually lead him to create the business of Mastering diabetes, which helps consoling people with diabetes and leading people to health with a step by step approach of eating a whole plant based diet. He shares his knowledge of facts about diabetes, reducing insulin resistance, and many more eye opening facts about the connections between all these chronic diseases and our lifestyle.
They go over the history and the current popular trends such as the Atkins diet. Paleo diet, Keto diet, and other low carb/high fat diets. Cyrus gives his expertise on the science of how these diets affect the body over the short term and also over the long term. He also goes over the opposite side of the spectrum of a whole food plant based diets and other high carb, low fat diets. This includes the truths and myths about carbohydrates that many of us hear about everyday.

In this episode, Bailey sits down with Matt Bertulli, CEO of eco-friendly company Pela, which fights for sustainability, waste awareness, and a greener future. Pela was the creator of the Pela case, which is the world’s first compostable phone case. Pela has a vision of a waste free future. They make products made of environmentally sensible materials, that educate and inspire a global community of people who are committed to making a positive impact on our planet.
Bai & Matt jump right into talking about sustainability and waste from all humankind. Our society is growing larger and with that, is our increase in waste, especially industrial waste. Matt shares his insights on how our waste has potential to be used to our benefit financially. His hope is to create more awareness on our individual waste and how we can minimize it as best we can.
Matt talks about the connections between sustainability and social equality, and how you can’t talk about one without considering the other. A lot of the worlds industrial waste is expelled and processed in under served communities. Finding these connections in society can bring awareness and with that, actual change.
Bai and Matt share their opinions about the mass amounts of waste from western countries. This has regards to our food systems, to our resources, and to our individual households. They also touch base on the psychology between waste and the effect it has on the world around us. Matt explains how the best thing for our health , and the worlds future, is to become more educated with the waste systems of the world collectively. Instead of focusing on methane and carbon, rather to use our daily waste as a better tool to bring awareness to the public of climate change. Climate change is a big misunderstood idea. It is about the limited resources we have on this earth, and how we can’t be wasting them like we have a planet B.
They talk about the arguments about sustainability and the solutions to the most common questions. Matt also sheds light on the future with his positive outlook and how we are collectively going towards a greener, more sustainable age.
Matt explains to us about his amazing and eco friendly phone case product. This case is 100% fully compostable, plant based, visible, and popular. Matt and his team are leading the charge for research in material science for fully compostable materials. His other eco friendly composting product, Lomi, is a 3 liter bin that turns your natural food scraps into dirt/soil overnight and can reduce food waste by 80%.

Brooke is an internationally-recognized expert in healing chronic disease with plant-based nutrition.
Brooke shares her story growing up in a family with unhealthy diets and how it contributed to her early diagnosis of lupus at childhood. Shortly after, she was told that she had less than a year to live. After hearing such sad and frightening news, she was told her only chances of surviving would be intense western medical procedures such as chemo therapy or dialysis for the rest of her life.
She learned early on to fight for her health and to fight for her entire life well on beyond her diagnosis. Instead of using the down time to feel sorry for herself, she used it to study, to learn, and to educate. Slowly over years of ups and downs, she learned more about her diagnosis, her symptoms, and her triggers.
Over time, Goldner educated herself enough to graduate and become a doctor to help heal herself and help heal others. The stories she shares are touching and inspirational. Goldner tells us about her life changing moments that helped her learn the power of plant based foods. Some of these pinnacle moments were meeting husband, changing her diet, and seeing how a plant based diet was healing her lupus medically through blood tests.
After she healed herself, she wanted to dive deeper into the actual science of why it worked. Brooke and team focused on the science of why the plant based lifestyle helps heal the body and keep the body functioning at its highest level. This gave her the passion to teach the public and to write her books.
Bai and Brooke also talk about the mental pressures and traumas people go through having a chronic disease. Brooke gives the insights and connections between our physical health and our mental health. Depression, anxiety are inflammatory, your body has a physical response, so going through symptoms from chronic diseases can physically effect your body in harmful ways. Brooke uses this knowledge to help people heal through food, but also changing their thought process to a more positive side along the way.

In this episode, Bailey sits down with the famously intelligent Dr. Michael Greger, author, physician, professional speaker on public health issues & advocacy of a whole-food, plant-based diet. They chat about his beginnings and what lead him to become a doctor in the first place.
Dr. Greger shares his childhood experience with his grandmother falling ill with late stages of heart disease at 65. Soon after she was taught to change her diet, and with the help of Nathen Pritikin, she lived for another 31 fruitful years. Early on Dr. Greger saw the power of nutrition first hand, and has been passionate to teach others what he witnessed since. Because of his grandmother, he entered into medicine, studied lifestyle medicine, started Nutritionfacts.org, wrote all his books, hold public speakings, and much more.
They talk about the hardships and obstacles people face when trying to adopt a more plant focused lifestyle. They also touch base on the resistance of a healthy, plant focused lifestyle in the medical community, in society, and with loved ones. How it seems like the whole system isn’t set up for making people healthy, rather the opposite.
Dr. Greger dives in and explains about the food system as a whole. The interconnectedness of why things are the way they are. He shows us the flaws of big corporations selling us a trillion dollar industry of processed foods. How the most profitable foods, are usually the worst foods. How the system is set up to incentivize the bad foods, and punish the healthy ones.
They talk about how we as individuals have to take responsibility for our own health and the health of our families now more than ever. That the most important decisions we make is what we eat everyday. Good news is the world is changing at an amazing pace, especially lately. The positive influence of eating plants over the past 50 years is increasing every year in the general public. The science is out there and people are finally listening.
Bai asks Dr. Greger advice on helping show a stubborn family member or friend with a lifestyle created disease, on how to heal with a healthy diet change. They touch base on the negatives of dairy especially the health effects, and how now it’s easier than ever to switch to non dairy alternatives. With a plethora of plant based options, anyone can find something they like, and help bring down the demand for dairy products.
They chat about the many myths of nutrition throughout society and how unfortunately fake myths, have real consequences. That all this unhealthy false information are causing premature illnesses in our bodies. One of the most astonishing things Dr. Greger noticed when asking his patients why they ate the way they ate, was that many didn’t have hard evidence why. Many had heard something from a friend at the gym or read something in a magazine. Dr. Greger believes everyone has to do the research themselves, and to not take anyones word for it. To remember that what you eat everyday is the most important decision you make for your health.
This episode is informative, quick, and witty. Enjoy!

They dive into Dr Fuhrman’s early childhood and his history of studying and researching nutrition. His father who struggled with back pain, searched for answers from many specialists and doctors, but never found any real answers to the problem. Just bandages to the symptoms. It was through one book that lead into many more books based on nutrition to heal your body, that he and his father began diving into. That through food, you can change your life. Joel would sit along side his father at a young age and read these books that were focused on nutrition and eating healthfully.
Years later, his father healed himself, and was a new person. Seeing the power of diet first hand, helped drive the passion in Joel on healthy eating and nutrition. Dr. Fuhrman talks about his life from his younger years and his life’s experiences until he went to school to be a physician in specialized nutritional medicine. Once he graduated, he began his journey of writing his findings of the connection between nutrition and health into books.
Bailey talks with Joel about becoming a family physician with a background in nutrition. This way we could do something he enjoyed and help as many people as possible. Through his journey he was able to create a center in San Diego to help people come to as a retreat. Hannah Sunderani, founder and creator of Two Spoons App and Plant Based Recipe Blog, sits down with Bailey to catch up on life and talk about recent events in each other lives. All which include the blessings of Hannah being pregnant with her first child which is absolutely amazing! She talks about all the nerves and exciting feelings of becoming a mom for the first time. Hannah retakes us through the start of her journey of deciding to have a baby and the challenges her and her husband faced.
Hannah talks about the time frame she thought getting pregnant would occur was very different than reality. How in movies and stories from friends, it can be portrayed that women just get pregnant easily and then the next step is figuring out all the correct plans from there on. In reality, she found that the challenges beforehand can actually be much more difficult than the steps after knowing your pregnant. She opened up about her vulnerability about trying to conceive, which helped her close friends and family to open up to her and to show their own struggles of infertility. She noticed she was not alone in her journey. That many women and their other halves had many troubles, obstacles, and challenges to overcome to reach their goal of being pregnant.
Hannah talks about her stages of reaching out to a fertility clinic, the process they went through together, and the results they received afterwards. For one moment, everything was fine, and then next moment they were battling uphill against infertility issues. She speaks about this anxiety and pressure within herself, and within her relationship with her husband. On top of this pressure, she explains the hardship of trying to juggle life, work, and pleasure with an unknown timing of becoming pregnant.
She talks about the feelings she gets around other couples now that she is pregnant. She doesn’t know their story, but she thinks of her journey, and she wishes that she isn’t giving them a painful reminder of their infertility issues, but rather hope that their time will come sooner than later, in one way or another.
It’s a humble reminder that we are all struggling behind the faces we put on in public, and that being open and vulnerable, can be the most human thing we can do to help connect with one another. Hannah has opened up with more friends, family, and even strangers, and found that an overwhelming amount of people are going through similar infertility problems. You will never know unless you open up about yourself.
Afterwards when Hannah and her husband received the great news, she felt more compelled to reach out and to offer her story of infertility, to help support someone who needs to hear it most. The important message she wanted to share was, if you know anyone who is going through infertility challenges, be soft and extra caring. Honestly to not to give any advice, but to just be there to sit down and to just listen. Listening can be the best support that woman or couple needs most.
This episode is a deep, vulnerable, and moving conversation with Hannah and Bailey. Press play and enjoy.

THE PLANT REMEDY PODCAST WITH CHEF BAI
Bailey sits down with the amazing and charming Lulu Ge, founder and CEO of Elix healing. Together they talk about their relationship, and why Lulu created Elix. How it all began with her own story of dealing with painful menstrual cycles and trying to navigate herself off prescription birth control. Through her journey she found that western medicine didn’t have the answers she was looking for besides just going back on more prescription birth controls. So, with the insight from her grandfather who ran a hospital in China, she turned to a more holistic approach through medicine from special herbs, superfood tonics, and plants.
Into her journey of using Chinese herbs to help her menstrual cycles, she found her painful symptoms declining and becoming much more manageable even by the first few months. This amazing change helped her gain more confidence with discussing it with her friends and coworkers. Instead of living in pain in silence, she was able to open up her heart and feelings around painful menstrual cycles.
What happened next was alarming for her. The pain that she thought was rare and only hers was actually much more prevalent in her friends and coworkers than she ever imagined. So many women she knew opened up to her and revealed their own cycle problems and situations. Examples of these symptoms were headaches, bloating, cramps, nausea, and many more. Knowing that she was not alone and that many women live in painful silence, made her want to help make a difference and make a change.
She wanted to share her special tonic with her friends, but she found out that her special herbs blend was tailored to her specific symptoms and needs, and really for her only. That every woman is different and depending on their cycle symptoms, body type, and so on, changes the specific herbs needed to help them.
This journey is where Elix began. A way to bring a licensed practitioner to an online experience for any woman, and to access anywhere, especially people living in rural areas. Herbs from ethically sources, advisors from certified professionals, and support from people in the community and all over the world.
Elix has grown exponentially over the last 2 years and has helped over +100,000 women. Everyday they are helping more and more women all over the world and to let them feel empowered with their cycle symptoms, and to feel better supported with their overall health.
This episode is a powerful and special tool to help spread the word on women's health. You won’t want to miss it!

Dr. Michael Klaper, gifted clinician, internationally-recognized teacher, and sought-after speaker on diet and health, talks about his journey and career into holistic health. He talks about his life long mission of teaching the public, the medical community, and everyone in between about healing themselves from chronic lifestyle created diseases through a whole food, plant based diet.
Bailey and Dr. Klaper dive right into his early childhood of growing up in the midwest and working on a dairy farm in the summers. He gives his honest and heart-moving recollection of working on a dairy farm as a child and how it helped shape his future into entering medicine and striving to become a doctor. He gives his first person accounts as a child on a dairy farm and the procedures of creating and running a fully functioning dairy farm. From the way the cows are inseminated, how the calves are torn away from the mothers right after birth, how male cows are turned into veal, and the connection of dairy and slaughterhouses. They talk about the facts of life of a dairy cow from back then, and the procedures now. How much things have changed, and sadly how much certain things haven’t changed.
They talk about the way the dairy industry has manipulated the general public into believing that dairy is a necessity in diet, how the dairy industry has manipulated the public on how dairy is made, and many more gut wrenching, heart breaking truths of the dangers of dairy.
He also shares insights on how cows have changed into being genetically modified nowadays to produce milk all year around, even while they are pregnant. Cows used to stop producing milk while pregnant for 9 months, but now with the help of scientists, cows now produce milk non stop year round. This causes many natural hormones like many types of estrogens that pregnant mammals have, to be much more present in the milk nowadays, compared to many years ago. With more hormones in the milk, he explains the connection of the rise in irregularities, chronic diseases, and cancers in both women and men in the last 20-30 years. Dr. Klaper shares his expertise on the connection of dairy and health, and how the rise of consumption of dairy products has lead to a rise of diseases and cancers in men like prostate cancers, and in women like breast cancer, ovarian cancer, endometriosis, and more.
Dr. Klaper talks about his journey into turning plant based as a western medical doctor, and his own research on how effective a whole food plant based diet helped his health and his clients' health to become healthier from the inside out. They talk about the mass amount of misinformation on nutrition online and the damaging effects it has on the public. Especially with regards to many abnormal, unnatural diets such as the paleo diet and keto diet. These abnormal diets may have short term external changes in weight loss, they are also causing longterm decremental changes internally on the liver, the heart, the blood cholesterol levels, the colon, the arteries, the gut, and much more. Eating mass amounts of animal based foods high in fat, high in cholesterol, are a recipe for heart disease, which is sadly the number one cause of death in the United States.
This episode is raw, real, and honest between both Bailey and Dr. Klaper. You won’t want to miss this one. Filled with tons of info, facts, and resources to help you on your own health journey to healing.

She talks about her healing process for herself, personal development work, and her journey to her huge awaking. People who use micro dosing of psychedelics notice subtle shifts in their mindset, body, and health.

It helps open up locked/blocked pathways in the brain and in the heart, and allows the body to face these negatives in a positive and constructive therapeutic way. They talk about the research behind it and how it's becoming more and more increasing accepted in the general public community. This includes the correct way to dose, the correct procedures to follow, and the history of how this healing process has been used for 100’s of years with cultures all over the world.
They touch base on the major differences on recreational vs therapeutic healing with psilocybin. How using small doses for healing can help a majority of people, young or old, no matter where they stand on the spectrum of personal development. How it helps people with anxiety, depression, OCD, addiction, ALS and much more, to help people get to the root of their problems. To help heal the sources instead of the symptoms.

In this episode, Bailey has an amazing and insightful conversation with a brilliant medical doctor in the wellness world, Dr. Vivian Chen. Together the share their experiences with detoxing from everyday chemicals in our home and education on non-toxic living.
Dr. Chen shares her education from her schooling as a western UK Doctor, and her expertise on helping people find a way to empower themselves through little everyday changes. To focus on lifestyle changes to help heal the body naturally. Western medicine is wonderful, but she sees health through a more integrative approach to help fight chronic diseases. Although there is a pill for every ill, we should address the underlying issues rather than band-aiding over problems. Together they see "Food is medicine" and that we as an individual, we have more power than we are thought to believe when it comes to minimizing toxicity from our life.
Together, they talk about Dr. Chen's story and the driving forces that led her onto this journey of wellness beyond the western medicine approach. A main force was her children. Her daughter had life threatening struggles early on in life with allergies, which had Vivian digging deeper for answers on how to help her daughter.
As they changed her daughters diet, they began to see what the root causes were, instead of the reactions. What began as allergies with dairy, quickly turned into looking at all the toxicity in our conventional food. Which then led to looking at the toxicity beyond food, to our general cleaning products we use in our household, to the daily environment we surround ourselves with, and to the whole world we live in.
She eventually changed her life, and her family’s life by changing their diets, ridding their lives of toxicity as much as possible, and educating herself and others on the products we use everyday.
She notices very common illnesses among many different people, and she believes it’s coming from many common root sources. She uses the metaphor: if see ourselves as a garden, with many different plants and with soil lacking certain important nutrients, how it’s going to show up will be different in different plants. If we change the soil and replenish it, we will start to see results in all the plants, just like ourselves.
They dive deep into some of the many sources of toxic load and the science behind it. How not to focus on just one toxin, but one all of them in our life. Learning to minimize toxins is an everyday task. Your everyday actions make a huge different. You won't want to miss this episode for all the juicy insights on how to lower toxic load in your household and life overall. You can't avoid toxins, but we can take action steps that absolutely make a difference for our health in the long run.

In this podcast episode, Bailey shares a conversation with Founder & CEO of Rasa (Adaptogen-packed wellness tonics) Lopa Van Der Mersch. Together they talk all about our morning habits/routines that are either helping us nourish our bodies with energy or extract energy from our bodies.
Lopa explains about Rasa the company which specializes in super functional coffee alternatives and adaptogenic tonics. Lopa breaks down how she came up with the idea to start Rasa and her passion to change how we approach our morning routine. How we need something to nourish us, rather than to extract energy from us. This helped fuel the idea to start the rasa coffee alternatives. It got her thinking.....couldn't we put tons of amazing herbs in this morning ritual that’s fantastic for people's health, stress, energy, libido, mood, and immune system?? Yes!! She worked with professional herbalists on how to find the right balance of herbs that’s safe, delicious, and most importantly, that have these functional purposes.
Together they talk about their experiences with coffee, including the negative ones which fueled an increase in anxiety, irritability, and mid day crashes. One quote she saids is “Coffee borrows energy from tomorrow to feed today.”, which many of us don't think about when we reach for that cup of Joe in the early hours of the day. Coffee spikes your cortisol just like stress which effects our energy all day.
“If either of us said, I need to have two glasses of wine in the morning, then I’m totally fine” That's what we do with coffee, no one questions it. It creates a significant amount of dependency in the body. Your body gets addicted to it, and stops creating its own cortisol, which creates this burn out later.
So many people now are becoming burnt out from this 0-100MPH with everything now slowly opening back up in this post pandemic life. It's so important to balance our energy levels without being on this hamster wheel of caffeine in the morning and alcohol in the evening.
Now more than ever, its important to be taking care of yourself, which all starts in your morning and how you start your day. It's in the little things that add up, to eventually help or hurt our mental health overall. One example used was paying attention to your breath, because it is the easiest way to help regulate your nervous system. She also gives suggestions for people who are trying to wean off coffee.
Lastly, they briefly go over the product itself, the different varieties, the sustainability of the packaging, the adaptogenic ingredients, and the importance of others companies to follow suit. “It really is an offering from the heart. Something that will have impact on the world. Something that will help change peoples lives. Something that will be a fair exchange of energy.”
Whats next for Rasa? They are working on their fully compostable packaging right now, along with more varieties and flavors. You can check out the products and more on instagram @wearerasa

In this episode, Bai and Carlos Plazola, founder of Decriminalize Nature sit down together and talk all things plant medicine.
Carlos is on a mission to help us as humans to reconnect with the plant world and the land we live on. He talks about his life and his path to change the negative stigma against plant medicine like mushrooms, psilocybin, peyote, and more. His goal is to improve human health and well-being by decriminalizing and expanding access to entheogenic plants and fungi through political and community organizing, education, and advocacy. He envisions happier, healthier individuals and communities who have reconnected to nature and entheogenic plant and fungi traditions and practices.
Together they spark light into the history of ancient cultural traditions around growing food, and the healing properties that our ancestors used from growing their own food. They believe the danger right now is the lost connection and relationship we have with nature. We need this movement, to help us heal nature and ourselves.
They also touch base on how to allow these medicines to heal our past traumas emotionally and mentally through low dose experiences. Hopefully one day to have a better balance between the ancient ways of wisdom and the new ways of technology.
Remember the earth is here talking to us, if only we have the focus and patience to listen to her. As Carlos saids it, "Put your hands in the dirt. Find that connection!"
Whats next for decriminalizing nature? They are helping provide support and momentum to pass a bill in congress in California to help decriminalize entheogenic plants, restore our root connection to nature, and improve human health and well-being.

In this episode, Bailey talks with passionate impact investor and entrepreneur Tyler Mayoras CEO of Cool Beans, which is a company bringing whole food plant based goodness to the frozen aisle.
They talk about Big agriculture and the health effects, the ineffectiveness of the entire system, and the environmental impacts from meat and dairy. We learn about how veganism is growing and becoming a larger force for good each day more and more. They touch base on soil degradation and animal emissions running into our water, food, and the land we live in. How it affects not just the nearby communities but how these factors influence and change our society on a grander scale.
They chat about sustainable products like Cool Beans that have a large responsibility to have strong ethics and values against polluting the natural environment. Tyler explains how Cool Beans first came to fruition, where it is now, and where they are expecting to grow. They are all about real ingredients with real sustainable packaging to fill the frozen food isles.
Of course they talk about beans and the amazing health effects like extra fiber, gut health, and clean plant based protein. Not only are beans good for you, but they are also good for the soil. They help bring back nitrogen back into the soil and help retain that nitrogen for later use. Thus, this creates more nutrients for the animals in the soil which creates a healthier environment for growing overall.
What's next for Cool Beans? Trying to reach all underserved communities that struggle with providing easily assessable plant based foods. Lastly, their top goal be in every local gas station and convenient store nationwide.

In this episode, Bai sits down and chats with OB resident, yoga teacher, mentor, and heart worker Fallon Lev.
They briefly chat about hosting spiritual retreats and the amazing magic that unfolds naturally within them. Then they dive deep into the human experience after a life changing event. Just 7 months earlier, Fallon had been hit by a reckless car driving home on her vespa scooter, and thrown from the vehicle, and ended up in the hospital with considerable injures throughout her body. She explains her view of the human experience when life's gifts that we all take for granted, are taken away in an instant. The way she so gracefully speaks of her accident and her journey how to heal mentally, physically, and emotionally are some of the most powerful words you'll ever hear.
Every single day after this moment, she was flooded with support, love, and words of kindness that helped her get through her toughest moments. Using social media, she was able to connect and begin so many beautiful relationships with her community, near and far. This journey allowed her to open her heart in ways that she never could imagine. By making herself so vulnerable, she was able to break open, and pour her gratitude back through her words. By writing down her feelings and thoughts, she was able to find peace, and tranquility in place of anger and resentment.
Whats next for Fallon? The future is always unknown, and right now is the only time we can make decisions that can effect our life. Instead of being taken out of the present moment with fear of the future, they chat about how to to slow down and be grateful for the now, otherwise we can miss out on our whole life. To allow all your energy to sit with yourself, and really be in the conversation and in the moment.
She's now on the road of healing, and is slowly working her way back to a full recovery. Her hope is to send love to her body, to her friends, to her family, and back to her community.
