The government vote next week as to huge cuts and changes around disability and benefits. Citizens advice earlier this month published their pathways to poverty report. Continuous cuts over many years have already seen us greatly disadvantage. Over 150 MPs so far plan to vote against labourers bill. I have a little bit of a rant in this podcast: We should still be socially distancing in the UK. So many people at some beaches they had to declare a major incident. Over 40 tonnes of waste (including human waste) had to be cleared from beaches by local councils. Stupid!

One commentator sad he could draw parallels between the event and the pulling down of the statue of Saddam in Bagdad during the 2nd Gulf War. Its a significant issue and time will tell as to how far reaching this act of defiance has been.
Its been a long #Lockdown and isn’t fully lifting for me any time soon. Was made a bit easier today as I had an amazing Sunday Roast via Deliveroo, curtesy of @TheLoftBrum. Plus a socially distant get together with my brother amd e for a lovely day.

This was recorded live at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in Broad Street, Birmingham in the UK. The Birmingham club was a franchise of the London club of the same name which is still open today. I was the piano tuner in residence for the 13 years in which the Birmingham club was open. I have purchased more Christian music in the last year than at any other time since being a Christian. I'm not entirely sure why that is but, wax lyrical around some possible reasons while sharing some of what I like the most.

Yes, I know that VE day was in May but, I wanted to take the time to mark the 70th year of its passing. This audio is a 30 minute mantage of audio from reporters who were, at the time, embedded (to use modern terminoligy), with the ships and aircraft which took part. Reflect if you will on the language of the reporting; attempts to describe the sceens with references to blue skies which almost seem out of place when reporting on a battle ground. I have used a few ambient sounds which might help you on your journey of rememberance.

In my quest to try to work out what Boom is now about, I play through what I can only presume are offerings suggested by the might Boom artificial intelligence. I talk also about WHY I think community is being overlooked to Booms cost.

Longbridge was once the home of the Austin works where the likes of the Rover, Mini and vintage cars like the Morris Minor and Traveller were made. The factory closed some 10 years ago and a new town is being built where the old factory once stood. Amidst the familiar brands moving into the area is an independent speciality coffee shop called Ashton Levi, situated on Longbridge Lane terrace, adjacent to Queens Fish and Chip Bar, Autism Birmingham and Cure Hair. Judi suffers from both dry and wet macular degeneration - the former leaves people with blurry vision and while the latter can cause blind spots. The star - who has been Oscar-nominated for Best Actress and set a new BAFTA record for her 15th nomination for adoption-themed drama 'Philomena' is determined not to let these problems interrupt her life.
