This coffee comes from the Valle (vay-yey) Escondido (es-con-DEE-do) Nature Reserve, Hotel & Farm in the Monteverde region of Costa Rica. Monteverde is a large area in the Tilaran mountains; the same area as Volcan Arenal. The general area is at altitude and is a Tropical Cloud Forest. As such, it is warm, but not hot, and cloudy/foggy/misty at least 50% of the time. The area is a home for many, many different species of wildlife. Check Us Out On Social! Who Said Guatemalan Coffee is Basic? | The Morning Cup by Café Rica
A lot of times Guatemalan Coffee is thought of as a "Basic" Coffee that is used to balance other bright coffee's that may be too out of the ordinary for the average drinker. It almost is presented as an afterthought. In the era of Ethiopian and other African Coffees being hot and in vogue coffee Guatemalan coffees get dismissed before they even have a chance to speak for themselves. Jackson and Tristan sit down and try a Guatemalan From Birdrock Coffee Roasters to see how this coffee not only can change people's minds about this specific origin but also how the Coffee Industry should be structured based on morals rather than profits.
