Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. One of the lies our culture tells is that marriage is fine for people who want that sort of thing, but since it’s purely a matter of personal preference, we shouldn’t have public policies that encourage marriage. Don’t let them lie to you. Research from 90 countries reveals that two-parent families are more important to a nation’s well-being than anything, including population size and education. High shares of married two-parent families increase a nation’s gross domestic product, household savings, and educational attainment, and reduces crime at the same time. True patriots will want to see policies that encourage marriage over cohabitation, discourage sexual experimentation, and protect children from the grisly impact of no-fault divorce. Marriage is good for America. Plus, getting married and having kids is just plain fun. When God designed marriage, he knew what he was doing.
