Jesus is the river of life, flowing from the heart of God into the brokenness of the world. Like the waters seen by Ezekiel, this river brings healing, restoration and abundance wherever it flows. As followers of Christ, we are called to be channels of this life-giving water, offering hope, love and healing to those in need. Yet, many have yet to encounter the life Jesus offers. Today, we are reminded of our mission to share this river of life and well of grace until the whole world knows. Join us as we welcome Rev. In Acts 8, we see something miraculous happen. The persecuted followers of Jesus scattered, but rather than running to hide, they became big, bold witnesses of the goodness of God and the gift of salvation through Jesus. We see normal people becoming wildly effective preachers. We see the new believers rejoicing in their new relationship with Jesus, and we find ourselves inspired and encouraged by their faith and obedience. Today, we welcome Rev. Karen Tyler, Pastor of Missions, who will bring an encouraging word that will guide us as we seek to understand how the events of Acts 8 can motivate us to share our faith until the whole world knows!

Have you ever poured out dominos, lined them up in formation and experienced the joy of watching them fall down by simply tipping the first one over? Maybe you accidentally tipped a domino over and watched your hard work topple prematurely. For the Sundays between Easter and Memorial Day weekend, we are going to unpack how God sent His Holy Spirit to accomplish a very different “domino effect” as we walk through the book of Colossians. Hey neighbor! We’re so glad you’re here. If this is your first time to be with us, you could not have picked a better Sunday! We have gathered today to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus and to proclaim with our lips and with our lives that light and life have entered our otherwise dark and dying world to bring hope to all people!

The folks around you show up here each week because we’ve found it to be true that if we seek God with our whole hearts, we really will find Him nearby. We get together in this casual setting each Sunday, hoping that everyone who gathers here will find his or her own natural and authentic way to enjoy God in worship. We sing, we pray, and we huddle around the Bible, trusting that we will find the very real presence of Christ in our midst — maybe even in one another. And then we go out into our community looking for opportunities to share the goodness of God with our neighbors.

These past months have been an incredibly stressful time for many people. Just like the pandemic, the resulting stress has the potential to impact virtually every aspect of our lives. How does that stress show up? Certainly in the ways we’d expect but perhaps also in some unexpected ways. In the midst of that reality, Jesus offers us the gift of peace. How can that peace overcome that stress? What do we need to do to receive this gift of peace that Jesus offered his disciples?
