I share a handful of general life lessons I've learned in my few years of "adulthood", how I learned them, and how they impacted me on this second part of What I Would Tell Myself at 18!

- Living Forward by Micheal Hyatt
In just a few years since graduating high school, I've learned an incredible amount of lessons pertaining to all aspects of life. I've grown as a person so much and as a result have a sense of excitement for the future. In this new three part series, I'm sharing the lessons that I've learned that were the most helpful to me. Episode one, we're talking about the lessons I've learned pertaining to my Social life!
The second episode dive into Rule 4 of Jordan Peterson's "12 Rules for Life", we discuss what it means to compete against ourselves and the nature of chasing our goals.
Inspired by a conversation I recently had, this is episode we're discussing what happens when we compare ourselves to other people and why it doesn't make sense to do so. We use some excerpts from Jordan Peterson's, "12 Rules for Life", as a guide.
We can cheat life more than one might think. Often times in life, we find ourselves in situations where we can lower the standards we have for ourselves without any real consequences. One of those times is the current "self quarantine" situation we find ourselves in with the COVID-19 Pandemic. This episode, we talk about why getting complacent with our lives isn't good, using our current situation as an example.
In this episode, I share a personal story about planning my days. I picked up this habit unintentionally, and have found some interesting results from it. Hear all the benefits I've had from it and see if it's something you might want to try yourself!
In the fifth and final episode of our Bitter Pills series, we talk about what type of commitment it takes to achieve our goals. While big goals may seem like they require lofty amounts of time and effort, we dismantle that idea and show how in actuality all it takes is small and consistent efforts.
In the fourth part of our "Bitter Pills" series, we're talking about a important, but extremely tough, lesson in life. We know that using failure as a lesson is a crucial part of learning and improving, but what about the times when we fail even though we did nothing wrong?
In the third episode of our Bitter Pills series, we're discussing the impact that self vision can have. We talk about how we can change and grow into the type of person that we want to be, and how doing so will cause the way others treat and interact with us to change.
In our second installment of our "Bitter Pills" series, we put our focus on how we view our relationship with others. Too many people in today's world live their lives focused primarily on gaining the approval and impressing other people. In this episode we talk about why trying to be liked by others is a fruitless goal, and what the better alternative is!
Episode 12
In the first part of our "Bitter Pills" series, we're discussing the reality that Happiness is a Choice. We have complete control over how we perceive things and how our outlook on life is. This means that, as a result, we have complete control over our happiness.
Episode 11
In college and university, we hear the term "full time student" thrown around a lot. Being one myself, I've always been curious as to how accurate that term is. We're all aware what working full time implies, but what about a full time student? Are they the similar commitments? This episode I talk about an experiment I did, that anyone can try, and the results I found.
Episode 9: While it may be common in society for us to be apathetic towards life, this episode we discuss why you should care deeply!
Episode 8: When life begins to overwhelm us, our minds start racing and our emotions take over. Today we're discussing a strategy to help keep us grounded and to keep us thinking straight, when things get hectic.
Episode 7: Burnout is an all too real symptom of life, but there's things we can do to help ourselves get over it.
Episode 6: Dealing with stress is never fun, but what if we can avoid stress all together?
Episode 5: Why should we go through the effort of bettering ourselves? Find out in this episode!
Episode 3: I share a personal story of learning how to promote happiness through managing expectations.
