It is disheartening to see how bad the economy has become, with many people losing their sources of income. When we discuss topics like this, it’s not just about politics. Previous administrations had their challenges, but the current NPP government has surpassed them with the high level of corruption we are witnessing today.
Before our seats dropped to 14, we held 21 seats. This number has now become our minimum target for the upcoming elections. Additionally, we aim to reclaim constituencies like Tema East, La Dadekotopon, Ledzokuku, and others. It’s also worth noting that we managed to win some of their strongholds, such as Amasaman.
This is not the first time we are holding elections in this country. Since the adoption of the Fourth Republican Constitution in 1992, we have consistently held elections as a key component of our democratic process. These elections have served as an opportunity for citizens to exercise their constitutional right to vote and to choose their leaders through a fair and transparent process.
Ideally, only the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) qualifies as political parties in this country. If our laws work effectively I doubt they'll qualify to be one. This is debatable though in our current dispensation.
