Recently, a listener reached out to me on IG. She was on the verge of overhauling her entire marketing strategy, all based on what I had said in an episode last Thursday. I deeply appreciate her getting in touch because it highlighted a crucial need for clarification. Her question revolved around running lead generation ads to grow her list but not having anything to sell those leads immediately because her strategy involves live launching three times a year.
Here’s the thing: she didn’t need to change her strategy, because she was already doing it right! When I discussed the importance of having a strategy to send your leads to, I wasn't saying that you should have something to sell them right away. This listener has a well-thought-out strategy that involves live launching and she's intentionally growing her list in between those live launches. This is precisely what I encourage – playing the long game in your marketing. In today’s episode, I’m not only clarifying this but also diving into how to have successful live launches because, let's face it, we all want those! Listen in for some valuable insights on building a strong marketing strategy that sets you up for success.
In this episode, I'm jumping into the essential elements of a successful business foundation. I've noticed a common mistake many entrepreneurs make - resorting to solutions like paid ads, social media, or new platforms to salvage their struggling businesses without first solidifying their core strategy. I’m dismantling the misconception that ads alone can transform a struggling business into a thriving one.
Listen in to gain valuable insights into why your business's success hinges on a rock-solid foundation, and learn how to avoid the pitfalls that many entrepreneurs unknowingly stumble into. Whether you're considering paid ads, social media, or any other marketing strategy, this episode provides essential guidance for building a business that can withstand the test of time.
In today's episode, I’m diving deep into my recent transformative experience at a retreat in Costa Rica and I am so excited to share my story. The retreat focused on tapping into feminine power, a concept that was initially foreign to me. It's been a journey of rediscovery and embracing a different way of being.
This transformation has impacted every facet of my life, challenging the identity I'd built around hustle and control. It's shifted how I lead, parent, and show up in the world. Listen in as I share how this retreat wasn’t just a week in Costa Rica; it was an invitation to step into a new version of myself that was always there, just waiting to be acknowledged.

In this podcast episode, we dive deep into the critical topic of proactive business management. Today, we're diving deep into the world of marketing, specifically focusing on the power of visibility ads and building genuine relationships with your audience.
During this episode, I’m tackling a common question that arises when discussing visibility ads: "Why aren't these ads driving people to my website, lead magnet, webinar, or product? It's been a while since we have discussed this specific ad strategy, but it's such an essential part of what we do for our clients and my own ads. Today, I want to dive deep into visibility ads. This ad strategy holds tremendous importance for your overall marketing efforts, and the best part is that you can start implementing it in just two days, even if you're new to running ads or haven't completed your funnel or strategy yet.
Too often, I see entrepreneurs and content creators spend countless hours creating content, only to post it on social media and hope for the best. Unfortunately, that approach can take years to gain traction due to the way algorithms work. Visibility ads change the game by multiplying your reach by tenfold or even twentyfold in just one day…and I practice what I preach. I've been running visibility ads every day for the past five years because they work. They're an essential part of my marketing strategy, and I encourage you to embrace them too.
Tune in now to learn why these ads are an important layer of your overall strategy.

Numerous individuals dedicate their time attempting to imitate someone else's proven formula or template for success, neglecting the fact that they themselves possess unique qualities that are the true magic. The most successful people are those who harness their natural strengths, personality, and what they find enjoyable and effortless. While entrepreneurship is no walk in the park, grabbing hold of what comes naturally to you and utilizing it to succeed in your business is a must.
If you’ve neglected this area of your marketing, listen in as I walk through reflecting on your strengths and personality, as it defines your values, mission, and assists with your messaging, ultimately setting you apart from the competition.

Welcome to the last episode of my series ‘Marketing Secrets Nobody Tells You’ where I’m jumping into what I believe to be the most crucial element of marketing - converting cold traffic. While many people may have heard of this term, mastering it is very different from other components of marketing, and is crucial for achieving a seven-figure business. The episode delves into how this type of conversion is distinct from warm traffic, which are people who have already built a relationship with you.
People often follow the pathway of creating success with warm traffic but struggle to get past a ceiling because they don't know how to convert cold traffic. Consider whether you have been prioritizing this aspect of marketing. If your answer is nope, tune in! Mastering converting cold traffic consistently is key to growing your business.

It’s day 4 of the series Marketing Secrets Nobody Tells You, and I’m dropping a huge truth bomb. Marketing is NOT easy, but it IS simple. Successful entrepreneurs and business owners face challenges, failures, and roadblocks, even if it may not be apparent to you on the outside.
Avoiding the pursuit of ease and complexity in marketing and business strategies is crucial to your success. Instead, start with simple tactics and assets that demonstrate the business's value propositions and concentrate on simplicity, which leads to success.
If you’ve ever felt like marketing is easy for everyone except you, tune in. I’m easing those fears, and sharing personal examples of how I grew my business to nearly seven figures using simple networking, Facebook ads, and referrals.
Welcome back to my Marketing Secrets Nobody Tell You series, where today I’m revealing one of the biggest (if not THE biggest) reasons why business owners fail to move forward: inaction. Not taking action on growing your list or following, and increasing sales will cause your business to go backwards.
Inaction is a recurring issue for business owners, especially those that are earning below six figures, and today I’m bringing you insights on how to overcome it. Trying things, taking risks, and not being afraid of failure is vital for your business to reach its full potential.
If you’ve ever been plagued by inaction, listen in as I share intentional and strategic ways to make moves in your business.

Welcome to the fourth episode of the ‘Marketing Questions Answered’ series. In this episode, I address a common struggle that many business owners face - feeling overwhelmed and unable to handle everything on their own. This question is especially relevant to entrepreneurs who need support in their marketing efforts but may not have the resources to pay for it. I provide insightful advice and practical tips for prioritizing and sustaining marketing efforts, even without a team or much help.
I even reveal what it looked like for me when I began my business, with a child in tow and no money to hire help. If you’re a parent or even have a full-time job, this conversation may resonate with you. I also discuss questions you should ask yourself to decide if you can have some support in your business (even if right now it feels out of reach). This episode is a must-listen for anyone currently feeling deep into entrepreneurship and are seeking practical tips to pull through the busy season.

That’s what we all want, but how do we make it happen? First, having a clear, solid strategy as a foundation is an absolute must. After that? Listen in as I share the steps to nailing your ads and bringing in those sales.

In this episode, I’m diving into the process of establishing a 90-day goal, and creating an exact strategy to execute and achieve that goal. I’m highlighting the importance of leaving room for pivoting, adapting, and optimizing, and I explain why a clear focus for 90 days is essential to sticking with a plan and achieving success. If you’ve ever wondered what sets apart successful entrepreneurs from those who struggle to find success, look no further. I’ve seen the same consistent things among friends and peers (and myself) when it comes to success, and I’m sharing 5 of them. Things like:
…and more. Today’s episode isn’t one filled with massive changes you’ll need to make in your business, but rather awareness and alignment you can create within yourself. Tune in!
In today's episode, I’m diving into the topic of nurturing your audience. Nurturing can take many forms, including social media, content, and email, and any other way you might be interacting with your audience. It's essential to be consistent and intentional in your nurturing and to do so without expecting immediate returns
As an entrepreneur myself, I understand the challenges of selling your offer effectively. That’s why I believe it is so important to have clear and well-defined milestones in offers. Breaking the offer into three major milestones not only gives your audience a clear path, but also helps them see that your offer will solve their problem.
That's what it’s all about: making the offer clear and attractive, and showing your audience the experience they’ll have and the outcome they’ll achieve. Listen in today as I share more about this strategy, the use of milestones, and what to change so you can sell more of your offer.
Creating a high-value, free lead generation offer - one that creates a roadmap to your paid offer - can be a crucial part of your marketing strategy. I often see business owners make serious mistakes with their free offer, though.
Today, I’m coming in hot with what TO do and what NOT to do to design a free offer that is of high value, but still maintains a gap that only your paid offer will fill. If you have a lead gen offer that needs tweaking or you are in need of creating a lead gen offer, this one’s for you. Listen in!
I just wrapped up my incredible boot camp week of trainings for business owners, and I’ve been chatting with a ton of those participants in my DMs. After many questions and quite a few conversations, I began to realize a general theme among each one: a clear strategy was missing.
A clear strategy for growing your business is crucial. Your funnel, email marketing, traffic sources, messaging, offers, and offer positioning…everything is wrapped up in your strategy.
And while a strategy can be simple, it’s not necessarily easy, and can even lead to a major feeling of overwhelm. Tune in as a share this vital information that so many people are missing, and where you can start on this foundational aspect of your business.
Today I’m sharing my top lessons from 2022 (and 1 BIG mistake I will never make again). If I look back at myself six months ago, I don't even fully recognize who I was. I've grown so much as a person and as a CEO. The lessons I share today can be applied to not only my business, but all aspects of life. Listen in as I open up about my personal struggles, victories, and what consistent themes I noticed in my business. Let me know which one resonates most with you, send me a DM on instagram @EmilyHirsh.
We are in the season of goal setting for the New Year. Most of the time when you set goals you create some sort of strategy or action plan to go along with your goals. But where I see most people lack in this process is being specific.

Plus, I share some inside tips that I will reveal in my live intensive workshop coming up this Thursday. Listen in, you don’t want to miss this episode!
Are you ready for some inside intel on Black Friday?! Black Friday might be over, but knowing what worked (and what didn’t!) is vital moving forward.
We ran over 35 Black Friday promotions between all of our clients, and we absolutely crushed it this year. In fact, we generated over $700,000 in revenue, so far.
Compared to last year, ad costs were down and sales conversions went up, and we saw some of the best results.
If you want some behind the scenes on how we were able to capitalize on warm traffic (and the work you’ve already done this past year) to produce such incredible results, you’ll want to listen in! I dive into CPM’s, timing, audience, consistency, copy & creative, and more, so you’ll be in the best position when Black Friday rolls around next year!
I’ve witnessed so many businesses just stop marketing during December.
Not because they wanted to…but because they assumed no one would be buying during December. They wrote the month off as a loss before the month even began.
That doesn’t have to be the case.
You CAN (and should) go into December with the mindset of “this can be the BEST month of my year!”
If you’re wondering if your sales will take a dip during the upcoming holiday season or what you should do to make December the best month of your business year, listen in! I’ll be shedding light on that, throwing in some tips, and sharing what questions you need to answer to succeed this month.
Over the past couple of months, I’ve been spending some time on TikTok silently observing.
If you haven’t quite realized it yet, here’s a truth bomb: TikTok and Reels are the new TV. People have literally traded their typical television time and are simply consuming social media videos instead. What does this mean? People are looking for exceptional storytelling, entertainment, hacks and tricks and skills, and they are loving the way TikTok delivers those to them.
If you are wanting to use TikTok to gain followers and advertise, you have to create the content the platform and users want. Based on your business, how do you produce what they are looking for?
If you have considered (and you should!) using TikTok or Reels as a means for promoting your business, tune in to hear why your ability to story-tell and create incredibly engaging content is a must, and how this shift in digital marketing will impact you.
Have you ever felt frustrated with your team, or people in general? You know those feelings of:
If you’ve thought those thoughts or even said them aloud, you aren’t alone. I’ve been there too.
A while back, I made a massive mindset shift around those thoughts and feelings. I realized that having those negative thoughts and conversations did nothing good for me, my team, or my company. I wanted positivity, productivity, and gratitude instead.
If this is something you are struggling with, listen in to find out how you can walk away from the negativity and frustrations, and take positive action that will impact your business (and you) for the better. ← This is life changing. Tune in!
Welcome back to the final episode in my 2022 Secret Strategies where I tackle a strategy that seems to be overshadowed these days: email marketing.
Most people still have email on their phone, still scroll emails throughout the day, and your name being in their inbox will keep you at the top of their mind.
With the addition of social media, I honestly think people have truly lost sight of just how impactful email marketing can be.
Here’s what I know to be true - your email list is an asset.
If you have leads that open up your emails and consume what you send, you will never have to worry about your business. All you have to do is serve those people and solve their problems, and the sales will keep flowing.
In this 4th episode of my 2022 Secret Strategies series, we are diving into your sales conversions.
The number one way to increase your sales conversions is to increase the amount of engagement, conversations, and positive interactions that you are having with your audience and with your leads.
The goal is connection.
If you are looking for tactical ways to build those relationships with your audience (and in turn, increase those sales conversions), look no further. This episode is chock-full of strategies that you can implement today, that are working, and are working WELL.
It’s day 3 of my 2022 Secret Strategies series, and if you’re using webinars but struggling with LOW show up rates, this one’s for you.
When I first began hosting webinars years ago, you could easily get a 35% show up rate, and today that number has dramatically declined.
Even with that shift, it IS possible to increase your show up rate and create strong engagement. In today’s episode, I share valuable strategies (like not offering a replay!) that will help you avoid common mistakes and improve the overall success of your webinars.
In the second episode of my new series, 2022 Secret Strategies, we are diving into TWO critical strategies.
First, my cash infusion strategy. There are going to be times when your business needs to make some quick cash. Implementing my cash infusion strategy by leveraging your existing audience is the best way to get that cash flowing, and FAST.
Second, how to improve stagnant results. Have you ever had something that worked SO WELL in your marketing just quit producing results? If you weren’t sure how to respond when those results plummeted, this episode is for you. Listen in!
This week I’m coming to you with a new series: 2022 Secret Strategies. I hear so often from listeners how much they appreciate the tactical, cut to the chase, “go do this,” “execute these,” types of episodes, and how deeply valuable they are.
With that in mind, each and every day this week I’ll be walking through incredibly tactical strategies that you can take and implement in your own marketing.
Our first secret strategy is how to increase your business profits with your existing audience. This is a strategy that is so simple (because you’ve already done much of the work!), yet so many miss out on the potential here! Tune in as I share tips on shifting your mindset to create more of your ideal customers from the list you already have.
We all know that feeling in business where you’re afraid to say no to an opportunity that equals money. You and I know it well…that desire to say yes to each and every person even if they aren’t your ideal customer.
Money is the scorecard for business. It equals success. So, I should be saying yes to everyone, right?
Here’s the reality ——> Business is always the long game.
Your brand, your name, your reputation is all you have. If you start saying yes to sales that you can’t actually get an amazing result for because you made an exception..it’ll catch up to you and your overall reputation. This, in turn, will hurt your sales, your business, and your ultimate success.
Listen in for more on why and when you just need to say no.
Can you believe the end of 2022 is almost here?!
As business owners, the 4th quarter can leave us scrambling to wrap up the year on a positive note in-between all of the busyness this season brings.
You may be looking for strategies to help your business…
hit those end-of-year sales goals
generate a quick surge of revenue
capitalize on the leads you already have
…during that end of the year push.
In today’s episode, I’m sharing FIVE tactical strategies you can incorporate in your business to end 2022 stronger than where you’re at today. Tune in!
Are you growing your warm audience?
This can look like increasing your email list, social media following, overall reach of your content...
If you're not seeing these numbers grow week over week with quality, ideal customers, then it's time to take a look at how you can change that. (hint: let's look at some actions you can take to bring more consistency and value to your audience)
Honestly, this should be your #1 marketing priority.
Listen in to today's episode as I dive deeper into why growing your warm audience is so important and how your business can reap the benefits.
Live launches are CRITICAL. Yes, critical. They are THAT important.
I know you’ve heard from other places that live launches suck and that automating is the best way to go…and I agree that having an evergreen funnel in place IS a necessity.
But, when you look at sales conversions and the success of live launches, the live launches are almost always more successful than evergreen. You simply can’t replicate the energy of a live launch into an evergreen funnel. The data speaks for itself.
Listen in on today’s episode to hear more about what I consider the ultimate sales strategy, and why having that live launch component is essential for your success.
We all know what goes into successful marketing, right?
There’s your strategy, your messaging, understanding of your ideal client, plus your actual offer and how you’re going to position that offer.
But there’s more.
My team and I recently sat down and looked at our most successful clients and what they have in common…and it turns out that what they have in common are things that you, the business owner, can fully control.
Tune in to this episode where I dive into the top 2 things our most successful clients do, and how you can begin implementing them in your own marketing right now.
I’ve observed many business owners struggle when it comes to creating intentional content.
Creating connection through content needs to be at the top of your priority list. Why?
Because content creates attention on your brand and attention is the currency of today.
Everyone, every business, everything is fighting for your ideal customer’s attention.
This is a place where you have no choice but to show up and show up WELL.
Now listen. No one is saying you have dance, or be silly, or do things that aren’t in alignment with your audience, but you DO have to:
If you have difficulty with content creation, or have lost track of why you are even creating content, tune in. This one’s for you.
Today’s episode is coming at you chock full of transparency. These past few months have been filled with important lessons, valuable experiences, and much needed change.
..and this last week? You guys, this last week has been completely transformative.
If you’re anything like me - constantly on the go, at capacity always, stress upon stress, living in a state of controlled chaos - then take a deep breath and listen in. These lessons I’ve been learning are for you, too.
I hope you’re ready for this, because today’s episode is one of my rants. It’s a topic that lights a fire in me, because it just isn’t talked about enough. In fact, people will rarely tell you this because it isn’t one of those feel good things, but I will:
Either do hard work, or get out of business.
Go all in, or close up shop.
Marketing isn’t easy. You can’t just sit back and hope things will work for you. You can’t refuse to make changes, pivot, or sacrifice. Honestly, that’s all bullshit.
Join me as I share about difficult seasons, all the hustle I’ve put in, and how to create success no matter what is thrown your way.
Webinars are an art. An art of selling.
Providing value, connecting with your audience, and then pitching an offer is a proven sales strategy whether in the form of a webinar or through a conversation.
If your sales aren’t where they need to be, improving your webinar could be one of the single most important things you do to change those conversions.
In today’s episode, I’m sharing with you 3 ways you can improve your webinar, provide incredible value, and avoid losing money along the way. Listen in!
In today’s podcast, I’m sharing a BIG shift we’ve seen in marketing recently….and seriously, it’s a HUGE deal.
I had a feeling that this change was occurring over the last month, but I wanted to confirm it was true before bringing it to you. I spent time talking with my team and pulling data, and I am so excited that what I thought was happening, IS happening.
You’re going to want to hear this. Tune in!
As business owners, we are always looking for a new solution or chasing a shiny object, when a lot of the time there’s a ton of opportunity sitting right in front of us.
Over the past few months, I have been on the frontlines creating strategies for our Elite clients. Working on these strategies has made me realize that what’s simple to me,might be the missing piece for some of you.
Connecting your funnels and offers is a simple, yet crucial step in making more sales. In today’s episode, I’m sharing how to weave your funnels together, why this generates more sales, and what questions you should be asking to ensure you are providing your customers an absolutely epic experience.
Today, I’m bringing back my most downloaded episode from this past year, and it’s all about LIES.
More specifically, the lies the industry and other entrepreneurs are telling you.
I see behind the scenes of A LOT of businesses, and I have seen A LOT of hypocrisy. Hypocrisy that sets impossible expectations for entrepreneurs like you.
Listen in as I weed out the lies, ditch some of the worst advice, and uncover the truth.
Marketing is an ever-evolving, constant practice of refinement. When things stop working, we know we need to locate the issue and refine. But (and don’t miss this), even when things ARE working, it is crucial that you still be refining.
We call this practice optimization, and 95% of you are missing this key piece in your marketing. Listen into this final episode in my ‘Behind the Scenes’ series to hear why optimization is a must, and what immediate steps you can take to see major improvement in your marketing.
I’m back with the 5th episode in our ‘Behind the Scenes’ series, and today I’m sharing some incredible secrets to achieving successful paid ads.
But FIRST, if you haven’t listened to the previous 4 episodes in this series, go listen. Those episodes are vital to the success of your paid ads.
So many people make the mistake of jumping right into paid ads without having:
a solid strategy
excellent messaging
set projections
copy and creative that stands out
…and their paid ads are a total bust. These are key pieces your marketing can’t afford to miss.
Once you have that initial framework in place, let’s dive into the next step.
In this episode, I’m sharing paid ad secrets that are so simple, yet no one does them (not even most marketing agencies). These are secrets that will launch you straight to success. Tune in!
95% of the clients who come to work with us are struggling because they don’t know their numbers, and knowing your numbers is critical to achieving your sales goals.
At Hirsh, we eat, breathe and sleep numbers. In fact, it’s where we start with each and every client. We take their sales goals, make projections, utilize different scenarios, track the data, make data-driven decisions, and then do it all again.
Let’s recap. That’s:
—> Projections
—> Collect Data
—> Make Decisions
—> Repeat
This 4 step process takes the overwhelm out of marketing and makes it simple.
If you aren’t crystal clear on your numbers, or if your marketing efforts have felt like throwing spaghetti at a wall, tune in to hear more about this critical component on day 4 of my “Behind the Scenes” series.
It’s day 3 of our Behind the Scenes series, and in today's episode I'm telling you to throw away the templates.
Yes, you heard that right. Those copy and creative templates you are following?
Throw. Them. Out.
Your voice, your selling positions, and your angles should be yours and yours alone. They should be representing you and your brand values, and shouldn’t sound a thing like anyone else’s. If you want to stand out far above the noise and garner the attention of your ideal customers, you must be unique.
Tune in to hear why:
attention is currency
overcomplicated copy isn’t stopping the scroll
refusing to outsource may be hurting your business
testing isn’t optional
your copy and creative must bring out emotion
and MORE.
If your marketing strategy isn’t bringing in and converting leads, then something isn’t working…and I’m willing to bet it’s your messaging.
Messaging is how you talk to your audience; it’s how you connect with your leads; it’s how you sell your offer; it’s how you attract your buyers. And there are crucial components that your messaging needs to be successful, and turn your leads into buyers.
In this second ‘Behind the Scenes’ episode, I’m explaining exactly what those components are, why your messaging needs consistent refinement, and what to do if your messaging just isn’t working. Listen in!
Have you created a guaranteed to convert marketing strategy, or has strategy left your head spinning?
I’ve spoken to many business owners who are so overwhelmed by the jargon, differing ideas, and confusion in the marketing realm that they aren’t even sure where to begin with their own strategy.
After years in digital marketing, I’ve discovered that the best way to create your perfect marketing strategy is to separate from all that noise and focus on your ideal customer.
Tune into this first episode of my new ‘Behind the Scenes’ series, as I reveal what important questions you should be asking yourself about your audience…questions that will literally make your marketing strategy come to you.
In everything, there are seasons and cycles.
In the economy, the cycle starts over when the bubble gets too big and bursts. Prices fluctuate, we enter a recession, and we reset. Economic strategies that worked during the bubble aren’t necessarily going to work during the recession.
In the digital marketing world, we are in a cycle, too.
The online space has been booming over the last few years, and the demand for high-ticket services were at an all-time high. Business owners desired done-for-you, VIP services, and weren’t willing to show up for anything less.
That is changing.
With buyer hesitancy skyrocketing and profits down, 90% of people aren’t jumping on those high-ticket offers....and if you only have high-ticket offers available, you are going to end up leaving a LOT of money on the table right now.
In today's episode, I'll show you how to support those who aren’t ready for your highest offers, and uncover what strategies are making a comeback in this season of digital marketing.
Are you constantly looking for a “one size fits all” solution to your marketing, hoping to just plug in your information and be on your way to sales?
Maybe you’ve even signed up for programs that promise you immediate success with their “perfect blueprint” only to be met with disappointment?
I’m here to tell you today that there is no successful marketing strategy that is simply a plug and play.
Why?
You are unique.
Your business is unique.
Your offer is unique.
The audience you target is unique.
Your marketing strategy should be tailored to fit the unique aspects of you and your business.
It’s time to tune in, push the gimmicks aside, and discover what may be hindering your success in marketing AND costing you time and money.
Marketing is always changing.
What’s working right now may not be what was working last year, last month, or even last week.
At Hirsh Marketing, we discuss daily what is (and what isn’t!) working in the marketing world, so we can shift and make changes where needed as quickly as possible.
In this podcast episode, I’m sharing with you 6 things that ARE working right now in strategy and in ads.
Things like:
Cash Infusions
Increased Offer Value
Carousel Ads
and more!
Tune in to hear how you can implement what’s working into your marketing strategy, and see a difference in your results.
On today's episode, I’m going back to the basics.
You’ve heard me say, “Marketing always works, it’s just a matter of when,” and it’s true. Marketing DOES always work. You don’t have to rack your brain wondering what complex plan to put into place to make it happen.
I have a simplified method that will instantly improve your marketing results:
—> Set Projections
—> Gather Data
—> Take Action
If you aren’t following these steps in your marketing, or worse…you’ve just been throwing spaghetti at a wall hoping for positive results…tune in to hear how you can implement this proven method and reach your marketing goals.
As a business owner, I’ve made mistakes.
Mistakes that cost me millions.
MILLIONS.
I broke my own rules and my own advice, and honestly, it was a tough pill to swallow.
The past few months have been a life-changing journey for me. I’ve been reflecting, rebuilding, revamping, and getting back down into the trenches of my business. Today, I’m ready to share the two big mistakes I made (and the incredible lessons learned) with you. Listen in!
The economy has entered a recession, and for those in the digital marketing space, it seems we’re all encountering the same questions:
In this episode of Not for Lazy Marketers, I am joined by Ryan Deiss, the founder and CEO of DigitalMarketer.com and Founder and Managing Partner of RivalBrands.com and plattr.com. Listen in as Ryan gives his thoughts on those questions, reveals insight on the past and present, and explains what you should be doing to ensure you are propelled to the top when the economy shifts once again.
In today’s climate, you may find yourself asking if ads are truly essential. Do you really need them to grow your business, or can they be cut in an attempt to help your bottom line?
I often tell business owners that everything in business results in a delayed reaction. Rash cuts to your ads now will result in huge impacts to your business down the line.
Tune in to this episode where I shed light on what should be non-negotiable in your marketing during a recession, and how you can continue to see the growth of your business in a buyer-hesitant market.
What if your marketing doesn’t work? What if you spent countless hours working through your offer and strategy, created all the promotional materials, sent out dozens of emails, posted on social media, and you didn’t sell a single thing?
If you read those words and immediately thought, “I’d be a failure,” you’re not alone.
Tune in to today’s episode where I uncover what the real failure is, show you where your value truly lies, and explain the mindset changes you must make when your marketing isn’t working.
The economy is changing, and digital marketing is not immune to the effects of a recession. Preparing for the impact to come is imperative to protecting your business and its growth.
Building relationships. Leveraging audiences. Pivoting offers. Shifting focus. Clear vision.
In this episode, Russell Brunson, the CEO and co-founder of ClickFunnels, breaks down the secrets behind his multi-million dollar business and what you should do to advance success in your business during an economic downturn.
If you think that growing and sustaining a business is going to be EASY… this episode is about to prove that you have it dead wrong.
I’m NOT about the hustle (Gary Vee) mentality, but it’s nuts to think that you can create a completely passive business that never struggles and has no pivots ever. When you sign up to be a business owner, you are going to have to put in the work and show up and realize there are ups and downs, ebbs and flows, and you still have to CHASE the success and pivot your offers sometimes.
Tune in to hear this raw and real episode about struggles and insights and the important conversations that need to be had around these topics.
Lauren Marie joined Market Like A Pro, our done-with-you marketing consultancy, in January of 2022. Before coming in, her launch didn’t go well, but with our support in MLAP, she created that success. She did NOT let her previous failure determine her business’ future and didn’t let it stop her from figuring it out.
In this episode, she breaks down what went wrong, and then what she did to make sure things went REALLY right - to the tune of a 6-figure launch.
Growing a team to help run a 7-Figure business is no joke. It cannot be about how you FEEL in the moment and bringing your ideas to the table. You have to have every single step of growing your business tied to an outcome that is measurable.

When these seasons hit, I do these THREE things to make sure I can refocus, recenter and realign with my purpose so I can snap the heck out of it and get back into momentum. Tune in to find out what they are so they can help you when you’re feeling this constraint as well.
Want to get better results for your marketing fast?
You need to check where you’re not being clear and compelling in your marketing message.

Just do this quick exercise, and your messaging will get better fast.
Pivoting is the ultimate advantage for small businesses.
Instead of having to go through multiple committees, you can change your direction any time you need to, and do what’s necessary to give your market what they want.
And it’s getting more necessary with a recession looming on us, and buyers being more careful than they’ve been in over a decade.
But there’s a danger in pivoting too much, and that’s losing your focus.
Tune in to discover the difference between both.
Can you really guarantee success in your business?
I believe you can.
Today’s episode takes you through a part of Emily’s journey since she started out, and the building blocks that make it possible for her to do an hour’s worth of work and collect over $20K in revenue.
Unlike gambling, business does not depend solely on luck. You can stack your odds in your favor, and that’s what this episode is about.
Are you getting everything you can out of your marketing efforts?
I always say that marketing always works.
And you can always make it work even better.
That’s what you’re getting in today’s podcast.
I share 3 things you can do that will make your marketing work better, and they don’t take a lot of time (or money) to implement.
Tune in to find out.
When is it time to change an offer?
I have a saying which is “Do 1 offer until you reach 1 million dollars”.
I’m not going against my own teachings here, but there’s something else going on.
The conditions in our market are changing, and people are holding on to their money.
So you need to be careful about how you’re promoting your offers, or else their effectiveness will diminish until you reach months with $0 in sales.
Tune in today to discover how to know when an offer needs to be changed.
Running ads online is not like it used to be.
Not that long ago, we saw returns of 6:1, 10:1, even 20:1!
Because of market saturation, heavy competition, and businesses willing to invest a lot into client acquisition, getting a high return on your ads is getting tougher.
But it doesn’t have to be.
Tune in to see how we’re able to take a 2:1 return on ad spend, and use it to bring us customers for months (and years) to come without increasing our ad spend or using complicated methods.
Ever since businesses went online, they forgot about one thing that creates trust with people. And the more you do it, the harder it will be for you to bring new clients into your business. Rule #5 reveals how to lower buying resistance from clients, even in the middle of a recession.
Whenever you see diminishing returns in your marketing, what's the best thing you should do?
You should change what you’re doing, right?
But what do you change it to? If you just start doing random things, you may end up worse than you started. That’s throwing spaghetti at the wall hoping it will stick.
Rule #3 shows you what you must focus on when marketing results start to fade.
Tune in to discover how to fix your marketing.
Garnering this one thing is key when marketing stops working.
Today I talk about what you should do when you need more leads, more sales and more clients.
Taking more action, and building out more funnels is the wrong move because you’ll waste your energy trying to do something, anything so things get back to normal.
In doing that, we miss this simple ingredient all businesses must have if they want clients to come to them for the coming years.
Tune in to discover Rule #2 Of Marketing In 2022.
When business gets tough, getting new clients becomes more difficult by the day, and advertising costs seem to rise by the hour, business owners tend to lose touch with a fundamental part of their business.
This will put you in a downward spiral where, the harder things are, the harder they’ll get.
Rule #1 shows you how to get back in touch with the basics of your business so you can thrive no matter what.
If lack of inspiration, burnout and stressing about every detail of your business is part of your day-to-day, I have an important message for you.
It’s a State Of The Union of what’s happening right now in the digital landscape, and what you must do if you feel like nothing is working.
Because as entrepreneurs, we have no choice but to succeed.
Even if all odds seem to be against you, I’ll show you how to gain some perspective, and how to think about online marketing to stand out from the crowd.
Last year, making money online became much harder.
Ad costs went up, targeting options on Facebook vanished, and response is down overall.
For those of us who choose excellence, we’ve figured out how to succeed despite these setbacks.
Today I’ll show you
What do you do when you’re up against a problem that seems impossible to solve?
We just ended a launch, but the ROAS was less than I expected.
It was profitable, but not at the level it should be.
So I decided to use a method to generate ideas that I had neglected for a while.
In the end, I had more ideas than I knew what to do with, and I want to share it with you.
Join me today so I can show you

As CEOs, it can be easy to want to turn the onboarding of a new team member into Standard Operating Procedures, task delegation, and spreadsheets.
But, in this episode, I’m breaking down for you the process that I went through and my OWN change of mindset when communicating with my team (new members, especially!) - not only so that they understand their roles, but also that they understand this KEY ELEMENT that I’m covering today.
This key element has allowed for me to have the capacity to become the type of CEO that’s necessary in order for my business to be where I KNOW it can go. And, where mine is headed, yours can go there, too.
When you’re inspired, or emotionally charged, you are more than likely able to sit down, concentrate, ideate, write, record, you name it, some seriously punchy content. But when we get busier, and BUSIER, creating content, the GOOD content, that inspires, is raw, and is real (which we already know is the type of content that performs best), becomes harder.
Lately, I’ve been feeling somewhat of a disconnect between Hirsh Marketing’s presence/content and myself as founder and CEO. So last Friday, I set aside time with my Creative Manager and my Sales Director, and we had what we called a “therapy session” to get REAL, and get to the root of who I am, how that translates to my business, and how we capture that REALNESS, and make it the brand’s identity.
Tune into this episode of The Not For Lazy Marketers Podcast where I’m letting you in on the questions, the process, and the outcomes of creating your brand identity that will UNDOUBTEDLY improve your marketing.
Facebook is BEYOND frustrating in so many ways - from ad metrics being overreported, privacy breaches, the monopoly that it holds over the industry, and the hold that it has over us as a society, all the way down to its addictive qualities.
So when news comes out about Facebook and these concerns surrounding it, it can be hard to comprehend which parts NEED to be taken seriously when it comes down to your business, your advertising, even your kids and family.

In this episode, I’m speaking about the “knowledge gap” and why it is critical for marketers to understand their own. In this episode, I’m giving my honest answer to the question, “is using paid ads cheating your business growth?” In short, the answer is absolutely NOT. Tune in to today’s episode to learn more about why using paid ads isn’t “cheating” and what you’ll need to weigh before you decide to start leveraging them.

In this episode, I’m sharing two ways you can instantly improve your webinar conversion. I truly believe that creating a converting webinar is an artform. It takes several iterations to get it right. I have often found that the biggest breakdown in a webinar funnel is actually the webinar itself! You’ll walk away from this episode with two clear actions you can take today to instantly improve your webinar conversions and make more sales.
In this episode, I’m sharing more about Facebook’s push to AI that has been happening for the last two years. Essentially, Facebook wants you to give them, their algorithms, and their machine learning more control over your ads through features like campaign budget optimization, automatic placement, dynamic creative, etc. This episode will show you how to align your strategy with Facebook’s goal for more control and leverage these features to improve your ad performance.
In this episode, I’m sharing why it is just as important to repel the wrong fit customers in your messaging as it is to attract the right fit. Oftentimes, entrepreneurs are too afraid to be specific enough in their copy so that they’re deterring customers who aren’t the right fit because they don’t want to lose out on those sales. The problem in staying too broad in your messaging is that it prevents you from standing out, so you don’t end up attracting anyone. Tune into this episode to uncover the importance of repelling the wrong fit customers and how you can go deeper in your messaging to do so.
In this episode, we’re chatting about rising Facebook costs and what this means for the future of marketing. While, yes, it’s more expensive to market on Facebook than it was a few years ago, it remains the cheapest and most effective way to advertise online. You can and WILL find success with your Facebook ads, but only if you’re able to adapt to the new era of digital marketing we’re facing. There are two key components of your marketing that you must nail down in order to do so. Tune in to learn more about those two keys and how to survive in a more expensive and more saturated market!
In today’s episode, I’m sharing the two components that will create ultimate success in your marketing if you commit to them. First, you must be intentional with your strategy and continuously test, refine, and repeat. Second, you must release your fear of failure and stop holding yourself back. A good friend of mine was able to do this, and a year after creating her new business, she was able to get her webinar funnel converting at 4%! Make no mistake, marketing always works, it’s just a matter of when. Tune into today’s episode for a much needed message on what it really takes to achieve marketing success.
In today’s episode, I’m going on a much needed rant. There’s this misconception that running a digital business is, and should be, easy and that if it’s not that way for you then you’re doing something wrong. NOT TRUE. Sure, you have the potential for more reach and impact with a digital business, but if you throw out the core foundational components of your business expecting things to be a piece of cake, you will never be successful. Nobody is talking about this, which is unfortunate as it’s a message that so many people need to hear. Tune in for the full rant and why it’s critical to put in the work if you want to achieve long term, sustainable success.
In today’s episode, I’m sharing everything you need to know about hitting your first crucial milestone in marketing: breaking even. Most people go into it with the expectation that they’ll be instantly profitable, when that is not the reality. Before you can become profitable, you first have to hit your break even point. How long should that take? What benchmarks do you have to set to get there? When do you know when it’s time to make pivots to achieve that? Tune in for all the answers!
Too often, people overcomplicate their marketing by adding in all these technical components, shiny objects, bells and whistles. Those things don’t equal a converting strategy or more sales. In some cases, it results in less because you’re making the journey too confusing for your leads. That’s not to say they’re bad strategies, but they aren’t what’s going to move the needle forward for your business. Rather than over complicating and overthinking your marketing, focus on improving the core, which is your messaging, customer journey, and connection you’re building with your audience. Tune in to learn how you can improve your marketing without all the overwhelm!
In this episode, I go on a bit of a rant. A lot of influencers out there promote this idea that you’re only one funnel away from success. That you just need to create this one webinar, one funnel, one campaign, or hit the magic formula and then you’ll take off and be successful without ever having to change a thing. That does not exist. If you think your company is going to reach a place where you don’t have to do any work with your marketing, I hate to shatter your fantasy, but it’s not true. True marketing success comes from continually optimizing, pivoting, and adjusting. Tune in so I can explain to you why I know that’s a fact!
In this episode, I’m shedding light on the three main elements to testing your ads. Testing your ads can be extremely overwhelming, and many people think it requires a bunch of A/B testing for your buttons, small tweaks in your headline, different colors on your landing page, etc. All of those things are just bells and whistles that will overcomplicate things without actually improving your results. Your actual success with testing will come from three foundational elements. It’s not a matter of using a magic formula, it’s about following a clear process of testing these three foundational elements. Tune in to learn what each of those are and how you can confidently test your ads moving forward without all the overwhelm attached.
In this episode, I’m diving into my top strategic lead generation strategies that actually result in sales. Lead generation is absolutely critical, especially in these times where the online space is extremely volatile. That’s because you own your email list, so no matter what happens online, you’ll still have that list of people who will buy from you, IF you’re doing this right. A lot of people are either teaching or doing lead generation the WRONG way. They’re focusing on vanity metrics that won’t help their business, their strategy doesn’t tie in to their big picture, they don’t consider their audience. Tune in to uncover what’s been missing from all the lead gen strategies you’re used to seeing, and learn the four main components of strategically growing your list into an invaluable asset!
In today’s episode, I’m encouraging you to take the time to look at what’s really driving the needle forward the most in your marketing, what’s not and create a “stop doing” list. There’s so much noise out there that suggests we as marketers need to show up on every platform every day, that we should try this new strategy or software, etc., or else we’ll get left behind. If you continue to spread your time and resources across all of these projects that you can’t put 110% behind, you will kill your business. There is great power in saying no to what isn’t going to accelerate your growth and push the needle forward. Tune in today to get started on your STOP doing list!
In this episode I’m diving into the do’s and don’ts of your ad creative. It is critical that you nail this because it is one of the most important components to the success of your ads. If your copy and creative don’t connect with your audience, stand out, and stop the scroll, your ad results will suffer horribly. Tune in to learn about Team Hirsh’s best practices for ad creative, including: using dynamic creative, how many copy and creative versions you need, how often you should refresh your creative, how to test new creative, and more!
In this episode, I’m sharing all my best tips and strategies for scaling your business both horizontally and vertically. First, I’ll walk you through potential reasons you haven’t been able to successfully scale in the past, actions you can take today to grow and scale your business, the key differences between scaling vertically vs. horizontally and why you should always be doing a little of both. I guarantee that if you can master the art of scaling, your business WILL grow, and that growth will be limitless. Tune in and I’ll show you why!
In today’s episode, I’m walking you through a case study of how we were able to improve our ad results for a client’s webinar in just 30 days by following the process of testing, refining, and repeating. Specifically, we looked at optimizing the client’s messaging, targeting, and offer. These are the three most important components to improving your marketing results. I guarantee that if you commit to continually testing and refining these components, you will be wildly successful!
In this episode, I’m sharing a hard marketing truth: your audience doesn’t care about you. Too many marketers make the mistake of highlighting themselves in their messaging, their story, their expertise, their business, the impact their offers have made for them, etc. Speaking to all of those things is NOT what is going to get your audience to convert. Instead, you have to focus on your customer, their frustrations and desires, and the results your offer will get them. It’s easier said than done, and there is ALWAYS room to improve this in your messaging. Tune in to learn more about why this is so critical, and how to apply a filter to ensure you’re nailing this in your marketing.
You’re in for a treat with this episode my friends, because I’m sharing strategies you can implement right away to instantly improve your ad targeting. One thing Team Hirsh is seeing right now is that there are a lot of audiences that are becoming increasingly oversaturated. So how do you still find success with those audiences? How do you find new audiences to test? How big should your audience size be? How long does it take to determine your targeting isn’t working? Tune in to uncover the answers to all of the above!
In this episode, I’m diving into the difference between marketing a brand versus marketing a funnel. There’s a misconception in the digital marketing space that once you get one funnel “perfect” you’ll have a massively successful business and you’ll never need to do any more work. But that’s not true. The only way to create long term success is to market your brand/business as a whole and create multiple avenues and ways of consistently bringing in new leads and growing your business. Today, I’m sharing the keys you’ll need to pay attention to in order to create that holistic strategy that will yield success in the long run.
In this episode, you’ll learn how to go several layers deeper in understanding and defining your ideal customer avatar than you ever have before. Most people think that they’ve already nailed this, when in reality, their understanding and definition is extremely surface level. Having a crystal clear understanding of your ICA will make everything in your marketing easier, and will result in much more powerful results. Tune in to find out what’s been missing in your ICA definition and the steps you can take to nail this down!
In this episode, I’m uncovering the truth about retargeting ads that nobody talks about. People in the industry who teach Facebook ads and marketing make retargeting ads sound so sexy and cool, that they’ll make you a ton of money. Retargeting ads do work, and can reach a very hot audience for a minimal amount of spend… but only if done right. Tune in to find out if you’re doing your retargeting ads all wrong and how to ensure you have a strong foundation that amplifies their effectiveness.
