Hi! I’m Dami, a lover or knowledge, somewhat popular social commentator, “eFeminist,” smart as fuck and all round awesome human. This is a space I’ve created to share my hot, thought provoking, sometimes right, sometimes wrong takes on social issues. Tbh, this is basically a spoken words version of my Twitter. Enjoy 🥂
So many conversations and voices on what feminism is or isn’t... well, as a self proclaimed authority, here’s my own two cents.
We all know what tyranny looks like, but not many know how it becomes. In this episode I talk about one of tyranny’s most effective journeys - a wolf in sheep’s clothing. I discuss how the next big wolf is dressing up right before our eyes and how we can tell through the current state of political debate particularly on the left. Big thanks to Ayishat Akanbi (@Ayishat_Akanbi) whose words directly inspire some of the points I make in this episode.
In this episode, I give a very brief history of women’s movements in Africa, I share my opinions on whether or not Feminism is “un-African,” I talk about western influence on “Nigerian and African feminism” and I share my beliefs about the way forward. 🥂 Huge thanks to one of my faves on Twitter @ireoluwa_e for suggesting this topic.
