Previously he founded and scaled venture-backed start-up Snap Travel Technology. He started his career at National Express and Chiltern Railways.

Sean Collins, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Uber Boat by Thames Clippers, has been at the helm of Thames Clippers since the inception of the business in 1999. At that time, the company operated one boat with a capacity of just 62 that served three piers and employed two people. Sean began his career aged 16 in 1984, when he was apprenticed to the Company of Watermen and Lighterman and is a third-generation Waterman. This includes serving as a Waterman to HM The Queen since 2008. During his career on the River Thames, Collins has worked as a Captain on passenger vessels and tug boats. Collins has also been National Rowing Champion and represented Great Britain at an international level, including the World Rowing Championships.

In 2018, he founded Agili.T, working globally. At RATP DEV Casablanca, he oversees tramway and Busway expansions and negotiates contracts for new services and lines.

Dr Young Tae Kim is the Secretary-General of the International Transport Forum (ITF) at the OECD. Elected by transport ministers of the ITF member countries in 2017, he was confirmed for a second five-year mandate in 2022. Under the leadership of Secretary-General Kim, the ITF has grown from 59 to 66 member countries and into a truly global organisation with a presence on five continents. Before becoming ITF Secretary-General, Young Tae distinguished himself in the civil service of his native Korea, serving as Director-General in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT).

Phil DeVault started as transit operator at King County Metro Transit in 2001. After driving for 10 years, he managed a communications team for the Bus Operations division for 12 years. After a short stint as Interim Deputy Director of Bus Operations, he now supports the division as the Director.
Patrick Brady is in his 15th year as a Metro Driver. From 2015 to 2021 Patrick was the elected Financial Secretary/ Treasurer of Local 587. Choosing not to run for a third term Patrick is back to driving and often assists the current ATU Officers focusing on special assignments like the Joint Mentorship Initiative. In Spring 2024, he will assist in the launch of Mentors Moving Metro.

She emphasises that achieving balance to meet everyone’s needs is challenging, and no operator or authority will be able to meet them all.
In the second half of this episode, Claire shifts the focus towards their aspirations for advancements in technology within public transport. While Jennie acknowledges the industry’s positive trajectory in this regard, she delves into the complexities that arise from technology, particularly for individuals who are digitally excluded, despite its convenience for most commuters. Jenny Martin is Chair of Bus Users UK and keen advocate for shared, equitable and sustainable transport that serves all sectors of society. Before retiring in January 2023, Jennie was Secretary General of ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems) UK a membership organisation that works to deliver the benefits of ITS in terms of economic efficiency, transport safety and environmental impact. In 2023, Jennie was awarded an MBE for services to transport technology.
Claire Walters joined Bus Users UK as Chief Executive in 2012. A champion of social inclusion, Claire has worked extensively with marginalised groups to improve access to life’s opportunities. Under her leadership, Bus Users has become a registered charity and a leading voice for accessible transport, as well as a founding member of the Sustainable Transport Alliance and the only approved Alternative Dispute Resolution Body for bus and coach passengers. In 2021 Claire was appointed Disability and Access Ambassador for the bus and coach industry by the Cabinet Office.

Lona Edwards Hankins serves as the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority‘s (RTA) Chief Executive Officer. Previously, she had served as the RTA’s Chief of Infrastructure and Long-Term Planning. In that position, Lona oversaw the development and execution of capital assets and the implementation of infrastructure improvement projects across all modes of the authority’s transit operations and administration. In her over 30 years of work experience in the industrial and public sector, Lona has spearheaded the rebuilding of New Orleans schools during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

As the Director for NEORide, Katherine Conrad oversees the day-to-day needs of 25 transit members across Ohio, Kentucky, Arkansas, West Virginia and Michigan, including executing special projects, grants and marketing. In 2019, she spearheaded the effort to launch EZfare, the largest multi-county mobile ticketing system in the country. Her focus is on expanding regional transportation and coordinated services. Katherine has been able to obtain over $9 million in state and federal funding for NEORide agencies to make this work possible. In 2021, under her leadership, NEORide was awarded Best Smart Ticketing App by Transport Ticketing, a global recognition.

Lacey Everett is the Chair of IndyGo Foundation’s Board of Directors and serves as MIBOR’s Director of Political Affairs. She has worked on several issues pertaining to homeownership, including attainable housing, economic mobility and more. Everett also helped lead the public marketing and communications efforts for Transit Drives Indy and maintains oversight through the current implementation of the Marion County Transit Plan.
