Many people think that rules like the Ten Commandments are what allows us to have a relationship with God. Keep the rules and God is happy, don’t keep them and well…you know. But let’s be honest, if the rules aren’t the way to get right or make God happy, then why would He ever create them. Join us this Sunday to see how rules were never criteria for a relationship but more of a confirmation of it.

“Why would I go to the church?...I already feel bad enough about myself!” Sadly, that's the view most people have towards the church in the Bible Belt. At C3, we like to say that we love you just the way you are but care too much about you to let you stay there. This idea comes from Jesus. He loves us too much to let us keep living the way we have been, but He knows that we can’t “get better”. We can only “start over”. Join us this Sunday to find the one thing that answers some of life’s biggest problems.

One of the most famous Angry Jesus moments in the Bible is when He’s flipping tables and chasing people with a whip. But, why did He do that? Jesus saw insiders that didn’t care or want outsiders to have access to God and it ticked Him off. But before we all agree, what if we have become or start acting like the insiders ourselves? He came to give us an all-access pass to a relationship with our heavenly Father; the relationship we’ve been created for. He’ll throw tables or animals or people out of the way to give us this all-access pass. He even gave up his own life for it. Join us this Sunday to see what happens when insiders and being good gets in the way.
Look: Rules are a good thing. They help us keep order. They allow us to know clearly what expectations we are supposed to meet. Join us as we kick off a new series at C3, “Pharisectomy” to see what may happen when rules get in the way.

And here is the good news – it maybe easier than you think!
The church is pictured in the Bible as an army that the gates of hell shall not prevail against. It is a family, the household of faith. It is referred to as a bride, the bride of Christ. In 1 Corinthians 12 the church is seen as a body, the body of Christ. The church is not a building, place, or event. It’s life! It is followers of Jesus doing life together! Join us this Sunday in-service or online to learn how "your part" is just as important as anyone else and how you've maybe been designed for that specific part.

very new year, we make decisions about who we want to be. We make resolutions; we set goals. But often these goals are focused on ourselves. Losing weight, saving money — even the best goals are often inherently self-centered. To live the life God has for us, we must be willing to reject our own comfort for the good of others. It’s not easy, and it sure isn’t comfortable. But when you deny yourself, God can do so much more.
The idea of property is a big deal in our culture. It was even a bigger deal in Jesus’ times. But what if the property you have isn’t really yours? Would you take care of it differently? Join us for week two of our “Selfless” series to see how to take care of God’s property.

We want to have a meaningful life and stop playing games, and truly live out what it means to follow Jesus.

Pride. Following Christ isn’t a competition. So why do so many of us treat it like one? Jesus said that our lives should be centered on love and we all like when love seems easy. But what happens when life gets a bit more difficult? How do we live in love when our spouse is upset? Or when they’ve truly hurt us? Or we’ve hurt them? When the kids are misbehaving? When you get multiple angry emails in one day? When the board wants to fire you? Typically in these kinds of situations, we tend to define love as either “being nice” or “getting tough,” or, more commonly, to try to find some kind of balance between the two. But what if Jesus offers a third way. A way that's better than starting Facebook fights nor just saying, "whatever works for you". Learn how to live and love a better way...the third way.
We all like to picture Jesus always smiling, never angry and always saying something encouraging. But what if that’s not the complete picture. Jesus said and did some difficult things. Things like cursing a figure tree and calling out people who thought they were doing everything right. Some of these things are even difficult to understand. Join us for Jesus Rants as we try to discover what Jesus meant.

Uncertainty causes a lot of anxiety. We have a sinking feeling we won’t be able to handle the challenges that are coming. The truth is, God’s plans often require more of us than we think we can give. You probably have a picture of what God should be doing...the way the story should go. Except it doesn’t always turn out that way. As a result, many people conclude that God isn’t real, or that he isn’t all-powerful or all-loving. But what if, God can give you hope when your story doesn’t make sense. How do you know what God is calling you to do with your life? Where do you start? How do you stay on track? How to make sure you're the good soil.
We all want adventure. We were made for it, designed for it. But, adventure is not just about thrill-seeking, high octane activities. When it comes to our life, if we allow God to pick our adventures they always end up better than we can ever think or imagine. A mundane, humdrum life is easy (but boring). Here’s how to start an adventure in your life.
We can all get turned the wrong way but when humble ourselves and turn back to God, we see God start changing things.
Jesus was amazed several times throughout the Bible. It's the same with you, He's either amazed with your faith or He's amazed with your lack of faith.
What if the secret to having a great faith isn't just attending and listening. Jesus said for us to to truly grow our faith, it's going to take more than listening.
We have a tendency to carry painful parts of our past with us: resentment against people who’ve hurt us, mistakes we’ve made, or even bitterness toward God. Most of us blow up or shut down when things are going our way, but Jesus teaches us that there is a third way. A better way to handle the situations of life.
I want to be truly justified before God, rather than getting my strokes from people, or my self-appreciating comparisons, don’t you? So, how bad is pride and let’s figure out what the God has to say about it? If not careful, it's something that can slip into our life without us even knowing it.
Our tendency is to monitor our behavior while pretty much ignoring our hearts. After all, how do you monitor your heart? I can’t get too far off base in my behavior without somebody drawing it to my attention. But my heart? That seems a bit more complicated. Jesus said something that still has huge implications today: “The things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart,” and then, “Out of the heart come evil thoughts.” Learn the four things that can clog your heart and lead to temptation.
God will always provide me with what I need, but He doesn’t always provide it when I think I need it. Don’t short circuit the plan God has for you life. When we take things into our hands, we try to fulfill our own needs and we fall into temptation. If we want things to go well in the end, you have to trust God in the inbetween.
Life can be a struggle sometimes, but there’s a difference between a test and a temptation. A test is something God provides to help us grow. A temptation is something the devil creates to take us down. When left unchecked, temptation can lead us into a vicious cycle of sin that will destroy your life. But, we can overcome the devil’s tricks if we stop taking the bait
What’s true about you now doesn’t have to be true about you later. We have to switch our label. You don’t get to choose what comes in your life, but you do get to choose what you call it. Don’t be stuck with your current label. Let the One who knows you the best, switch your label to what it should have been all along.
So what exactly is the purpose of your life? Well, you’ve heard it. Live your best life. Become the best version of yourself. You do you. But is self-fulfillment really all it’s cracked up to be? You might be surprised. A life of self-fulfillment will never fulfill you.
Have you ever felt stuck? Sometimes it can feel like no matter how hard we try, we still can’t change. It’s easy for many of us to blame our struggles on our circumstances. But, what if our issue is less about what’s going on around me and more about what’s going on inside of me? When we focus on our soul and not our situation, we can finally find freedom from what’s holding us back.
Making a change can often seem overwhelming when we don’t even know where to start. But what if the first step toward real change is as easy as flipping a switch? You can change the direction of your life when you choose to clear a path for God in your life.

You’re doing your best. You’re balancing your life, your family, and all of your other obligations. You’re probably overwhelmed. What happens, though, when you don’t feel like your best is good enough? It’s easy to feel like we just don’t measure up. But, you don’t have to go it alone. What’s best for you is rarely produced just by you. It takes a village to experience all God has for you, your family, and the people in your life.
It doesn’t take long to look around and see people we care about who are hurting. We want them to have something better. We want them to have hope, peace, and joy. But, if we’re being honest, we have no clue how to help them. But, the good news is that we don’t have to know what to do because Jesus is the only one that can ultimately provide true hope. All we need to do is go back and share with others what God has done for us.
We all want to write our own story. We want to feel like we are a big deal. But, sometimes it’s easy to feel overlooked because most of us are playing the wrong role in a much bigger story. However, we can live a life of true greatness when we realize there's a different role that we need to be playing.
When we help people find a better perspective in their lives, it will often lead to a better perspective for our own. When we encourage others it strengthen their faith and yours.

Things in our lives don’t often go as planned. Reality rarely matches up with what we have dreamed up. But, you don’t have to let the worst of life get the best of your. Even in the midst of your questions and doubts, you can experience God’s peace and power if you just keep showing up.
Have you ever wondered if there was a purpose behind the pain around you? Do you sometimes find yourself questioning what God is doing or if He even exists? Church can sometimes feel like an unsafe place to wrestle with our doubts, but we believe it’s okay to ask our real questions. We don’t have all the answers, but during “Without a doubt?,” we’ll share from the Bible and our own personal struggles how you can deal with your doubt and come out stronger on the other end.
We are so used to people trying to take things from us, that, when God commands us to be generous, it feels like He wants something from us. But, God's command to be generous is for us. He knows being generous will lead to fun, a great future, and our fulfillment. So, are we going to continue to allow the love of money to lead to grief, or are we going to be generous and take hold of life that is truly life?
The scariest thing in the world is to go through life without really doing anything that matters. So many of us are so focused on "being good" that we don't actually do good. We must get out of our comfort zone, get rid of our distractions, and and get to work doing good. It takes all of us together to do something great.
It's easy to feel alone when we're struggling through life. But, the truth is that we aren't alone. Other people have been where we are, but we need people to share their story with us to help us along. When we refuse to get out of our comfort zone and share our experiences, we rob people of the opportunity to find Jesus. Our story can change someone else's story when we open up about where we've been.
Serving others is not optional, we are commanded by God to show love to our neighbors by serving them. Serving is our rent for being on Earth. Serving not only brings joy to others, but brings meaning to our lives.
Meals slow things down. Some of us don’t like that. We like to get things done. But, meals force you to be people oriented instead of task oriented. And, let’s be honest, people don’t want to be your projects. Sharing a meal isn’t the only way to build relationships, but it is one of the best ways.
Most of us struggle to listen. We think we know what people need. But, we can learn what people truly need if actually take time to listen to what we say. If we want to bless the people in our lives, we need to start by actually listening.
It's easy to get caught up in the day to day busyness of life and miss the greater purpose God has for us. And looking at the problems of people around us can be overwhelming. But getting started is more simple than you think. A life with meaning in the mundane can happen when we begin each day with prayer, asking God how we can be the answer to someone else's prayers today.
Did you know you can wake up every morning with passion and purpose. Jesus' mission was to help everyone discover their true purpose through a relationship with Him, and Jesus' mission is our mission. So, do you go out of your way to avoid people or to bless people?
Everyone wants to be happy. But, do your everyday habits really make you feel happy? Focusing only on what makes you happy right now will leave you feeling empty.
But, God created you for more.
You can do the right thing with your life when you believe God has planned greater things for your life.
We often choose what we want now over what we want most. We need to choose the pain of discipline over the pain of regret.
People always want somebody in their corner but deep down, most don’t truly believe others or Jesus would be for them. People won’t know that Jesus is FOR them until they know that we are FOR them. Followers of Jesus should show others that God is for them by serving, relating, and reaching out to others.
When we look to the world to help us find hope and purpose, we will be disappointed. When we look to the world for help, we rob ourselves of God’s hope. No matter what your background or your history, God is faithful to those who choose to be faithful to him.
