We try our hardest to impress people that we barricade our own needs and values, forgetting that it is our own lives that we are living and when things take turn we are left alone to pity and shame ourselves when the people we were trying to impress are no where to be found. Don't get sucked into the never ending loop of impressing others that you ignore your own values, there is no success in doing what others want of you, to seek validity from others. The past few weeks have been "dark and shameful weeks" , while South Africa was fighting Covid 19 pandemic, another pandemic called femicide broke out. Stats shows that 51% of Women in South Africa had experienced violence in the hands of someone they were in a relationship with. Let's not justify it, it's painful and saddening how our sisters, mothers and grandmothers are brutally murdered for no specific reason by men who are said to be doing all they do because of their upbringing. Truth is if you're a man and you're overprotective of your little sister or daughter you know how dark it is out there, be as overprotective and loud about abuse towards women and children as you are towards your daughters and little sisters.
