Let's delve into my journey through 2023, highlighting the good, the bad, and the lessons learned. It was undeniably a year of growth and stretching my limits, as I took on various projects to leverage my 25+ years of experience in finance and entrepreneurship to give back to the community.

Lessons from Selling My Insurance Company:Early in 2023, I made the decision to sell my property and casualty insurance company. The experience taught me valuable lessons. Firstly, building an empire requires the right team. I realized I wasn't the best leader for that company, emphasizing the importance of being a transformational leader who inspires action beyond meetings.

The Importance of Team and Leadership:Reflecting on the sale, I understood the significance of having the right people in the right positions. Burnout and stress were signs that my leadership and team were not aligned. Taking care of my health emerged as a crucial lesson, emphasizing the need to balance work and well-being.

Highlights of 2023:Despite the challenges, 2023 had its highlights. I explored real estate investing in the Dominican Republic, wrote and published my first book, "Empower Your Money," and successfully hosted my first solo in-person event in Miami. The event featured incredible women speakers, and launching the Empower Her Money podcast became another milestone.

The Power of Asking for Help:Acknowledging my limitations, I sought help from experienced podcasters, contributing to the podcast's remarkable success within six months. Surrounding myself with a supportive team, especially in areas like marketing and sales, became a crucial strategy.

Looking Ahead to 2024:As I step into 2024, my focus is on health, podcast growth, and potential ventures in real estate or a new business. I aim to reach the top 1% globally as a podcast host, driven by a passion to impact lives and change generations by teaching financial control.

Acknowledging Impact and Overcoming Challenges:While entrepreneurship has its share of challenges and moments of self-doubt, knowing that I've positively impacted someone's life reinforces my purpose. Sharing both successes and roadblocks on social media aims to connect with others facing similar struggles.

Continuing the Journey:The entrepreneurial journey is ongoing, filled with both highs and lows. Transparency about struggles aims to inspire others. As 2024 unfolds, I invite feedback and suggestions for future podcast topics, ensuring that I continue to share knowledge about money, business, and personal development.

Here's to a remarkable 2024, filled with growth, resilience, and continued impact. Thank you for being part of this journey.

Today, I want to share a memorable experience from 2023, something I consider a golden rubbish—a lesson I learned that I hope can be valuable for all of you.

In life, different routes lead to various destinations. What may be a pain for me might be a joy for someone else, so I encourage you to analyze it in the context of your own life.

One of my painful experiences in 2023 was the breakdown of a relationship with a senior friend. As a graphic designer and voiceover artist, he was someone I respected in the industry, particularly for his skills in motion graphics. We had a working relationship, and the breakdown of this relationship became a source of sadness for me.

The Importance of Self-Value and Boundaries:The core issue revolved around boundaries and mutual respect. Despite the respect I had for him, there were instances where he overstepped the bounds, demanding urgent work without proper briefs or consideration for my schedule. This lack of respect led to a strain on the relationship, impacting not just the professional aspect but also the personal connection we had.

Lesson Learned: Others Will Love You as Much as You Love Yourself:The lesson I took from this experience is that people will love you as much as you love yourself. It's essential to recognize that people are watching and waiting for you to set boundaries. The way you allow others to treat you establishes a standard for how they will treat you in the future.

Setting Boundaries and Demanding Respect:If you willingly respond to disrespectful calls or requests, you inadvertently allow a certain level of treatment. It's crucial to set boundaries early on, establishing a framework for how you want to be treated. People will value you to the extent that you value yourself.

Life Gives You What You Demand, Not What You Deserve:A mentor once said, "Life will not give you what you deserve; life will give you what you demand." This applies to respect and how people treat you. If you demand respect and set clear boundaries, people are more likely to respond accordingly.

Moving Forward: Building a Foundation of Self-Value:To avoid similar mistakes in the future, I've decided to be more professional in my work relationships. I'll set clear boundaries, especially concerning time and expectations. I'll expect those who value me to respect my schedule and plan accordingly.

Conclusion: Relationships Are Priceless, But They Require Balance:In all of this, it's crucial to remember that relationships are priceless, but their value is upheld by the people within them. As you grow, maintain your core principles like the unchanging sun. Don't compromise your values for friends or family unless judged correctly.

Thank you once again to Mr. Benjamin and everyone listening. May God bless and increase each one of you.

In 2023, I had a myriad of experiences, making it challenging to pinpoint one as the most memorable. However, one significant achievement was the launch of my book, "Maximizing Your NYSC Year." This book serves as a guide for individuals navigating their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) year, providing insights into award-winning personal Community Development Service (CDS) projects.

I delved into numerous projects and focused on my personal business, specializing in book editing, publishing, and consultancy services. This journey involved taking on projects that were new to me, leading to a wealth of experience and research.

Lessons Learned from 2023:

  1. Purpose in Every Experience: One crucial lesson from 2023 is that every experience, whether good or bad, serves a purpose. Challenges prepare us for the future, and successes pave the way for more significant achievements. Even in the face of losses and setbacks, there's an opportunity for growth.
  2. God's Presence in Challenges: The awareness that God is ever-present in our lives, especially during challenges, was a key lesson for me. Turning to God in prayer and sharing burdens with Him allowed me to witness His merciful ways. Involving God in all aspects of life made 2023 outstanding.
  3. Perseverance and Resilience: The importance of never giving up, regardless of the challenges faced, is a valuable lesson. Challenges don't come to break us but to make us stronger and more resilient. Perseverance is the key to overcoming obstacles and achieving our goals.

Facing Challenges with Triumph:

I shared a personal experience of facing a robbery at the beginning of 2023, resulting in significant losses. However, the decision to bounce back, coupled with family support and prayer, led to a triumphant recovery. The challenges became a catalyst for positive changes, redirection, and newfound determination.

Encouragement for 2024:

As we step into 2024, my advice is to run your race diligently. Be intentional about your actions, align them with your long-term goals, and take charge of the year. Life is a journey, and it's essential to navigate it with purpose and determination.

Remember, challenges are part of life, but they don't define us. The key is to learn from every experience and use it as a stepping stone to greater heights. Don't leave your life to chance; be proactive and make choices that contribute to your overall well-being.

I'm entering 2024 with a triumphant mindset, and I encourage you to do the same. This year is yours, and by running your race diligently, you can make the best of it. Wishing everyone a fantastic and successful 2024. Take care, and bye for now!

A Journey of Balancing Life:Reflecting on 2023, I recall the podcasts from 2022 that delved into personal journeys. Those episodes helped me learn how to balance various aspects of my life.

A Release from Grief:One of the most memorable experiences of 2023 was when God lifted the burden of grief from my shoulders. In 2020, I lost my father, and the pain and anger towards God lingered. Despite prayers and fasting, the loss occurred, and resentment grew.

Seeking Answers and God's Response:Throughout 2020, questions tormented me. Why did God allow it despite our prayers? Why show us signs without preventing the loss? The grief consumed me, and anger festered.

A Turning Point:The turning point came in 2023 when God spoke to me, saying, "Blessed is he that is not offended by me." This profound statement marked a shift in my perspective.

Lessons Learned:Through this experience, I learned that our trials often lead to doubts about God's goodness. The devil attempts to convince us that God doesn't care or answer prayers. However, the lesson is clear—whatever God does is good and perfect.

Gratitude in All Circumstances:The Biblical admonition to "give thanks in everything" (1 Thessalonians 5:18) became a guiding principle. Gratitude isn't a requirement; it's an acknowledgment that God, who knows the future, is in control.

Trusting God Despite Lack of Understanding:Even when I don't comprehend the why, I choose to trust God. In Hebrews 10, patience is highlighted. After giving thanks, waiting patiently is part of doing the will of God.

Approaching Grief Differently:In 2023, I approached grief differently. I surrendered it to God, recognizing that my understanding is limited. I dropped the burden at His feet, choosing to trust Him completely.

The Role of Scripture in Healing:Studying the word of God played a vital role in addressing grief. The Bible brought clarity and comfort that I hadn't found in previous years.

Encouragement for Those Grieving:To those grieving, my advice is simple: God loves you, understands your pain, and comprehends even the depths of your heartache. Surrender everything to Him, for He holds the future.

As we step into 2024, let's entrust our burdens to God, knowing that His plans for us are good, and He will never intentionally inflict pain. Thank you for having me, and may this podcast continue to impact lives positively.

My story begins in a small, farmer-dominated community where I did my national youth service. Life was comfortable, peaceful, and the cost of living was affordable. I even engaged in small businesses to keep things interesting. However, comfort has its drawbacks, and I soon realized I was missing out on numerous opportunities beyond my cozy haven.

After spending two years in that community, I knew it was time to move on, but fear held me back. Thankfully, my friends encouraged me to seek job opportunities outside my comfort zone. In November last year, my job hunting journey began, and within two weeks, I was invited for an interview in the capital city.

I landed a job at a prestigious organization with good pay and accommodation. Transitioning to my new workplace wasn't easy. I felt like a little fish in a big pond—quiet, withdrawn, and introverted. But with encouragement from friends and a determination to challenge myself, I gradually stepped out of my shell. I discovered a social side of me that I didn't know existed, and my comfort zone expanded.

Lessons Learned:The key lesson I gleaned from this experience is that being too comfortable in my comfort zone can blind me to profitable opportunities. Sometimes, a gentle push is all we need to step into a realm of growth and possibilities.

Advice:To all you wonderful individuals out there, I encourage you to take the leap—step out of your comfort zones. Even if it means doing it afraid, the experience is more valuable than not trying at all. You never know what opportunities await you beyond your familiar surroundings.

Approach in 2024:For the year 2024, I've decided to put myself out there in a positive light. I'll dare to do the things I've been too afraid to attempt. Even if failure knocks on my door, I'll proudly say I tried. This year, I'm embracing challenges, opportunities, and personal growth with open arms.

Thank you all for listening to my journey, and I hope it inspires you to take that step out of your comfort zone. Here's to a fantastic and fearless 2024! 🌟

Hello, everyone. I'm Solomon Joseph, and I'd like to share my insights on the rollercoaster ride that was 2023. It was a tough year, full of challenges, but it also brought significant impact, teaching me valuable lessons through both successes and losses.

Embracing Individuality and Dismissing Stereotypes:One profound lesson from 2023 was embracing the uniqueness of individuals. People are different, and it's crucial to discard stereotypes like "all men are the same" or "all women are alike." Each person deserves a chance to define their own story, unburdened by preconceived notions.

The Art of Sacrifice and Understanding:2023 presented me with lessons on sacrifice and understanding in relationships. Not all efforts are perceived equally, and recognizing the sacrifices made by your partner fosters a deeper connection. Misunderstandings often arise from overlooking the unique value each person brings to the table.

Regrets and the Power of Timely Action:Regrets, though few, include not allowing ample time for personal healing before diving into new relationships. Procrastination also played a role, urging me to stress the importance of seizing opportunities promptly. The year emphasized that timely actions yield more favorable outcomes.

Expect the Unexpected in Acts of Kindness:Acts of kindness and generosity may not always yield immediate rewards, but they create a ripple effect. The lesson learned was not to expect returns from the exact place where you invest. Help others selflessly, and rewards may arrive unexpectedly from unforeseen sources.

Navigating Relationships and the Impact of Distance:The challenge of understanding each other in a long-distance relationship highlighted the need for effective communication and mutual comprehension. Every sacrifice made should be acknowledged, fostering a more profound connection. Understanding, beyond mere communication, is the key.

The Continual Learning Process:2023, with its ups and downs, relationships, and personal growth, reinforced the idea that life is an ongoing learning process. As I venture into 2024, the fear of the unknown lingers, but the lessons learned provide a compass to navigate the uncertainties.

In conclusion, 2023 was not just a year but a profound journey of self-discovery and resilience. Here's to embracing the lessons learned and welcoming the possibilities that 2024 holds.

Memorable Experience:The passing of a young uncle, due to a prolonged illness, reshaped my perspective on life. It taught me the importance of money in navigating challenges. This loss prompted a reevaluation, focusing on what truly matters and eliminating procrastination on essential tasks. His departure urged me to streamline my life towards my ideal goals.

Approach Differently:Reflecting on the past, prioritizing certainty over uncertainties, like startups, would be a wise approach. Locking down stable opportunities before venturing into passion projects could have steered me more effectively toward success.

Advice for 2024:Eliminate excuses and cultivate a habit of listening to your instincts. Regularly assess your actions against your aspirations, ensuring alignment. Embrace intuition as a guiding force, leading to better decisions and a more purposeful journey.

  1. A Memorable Experience:

The rollercoaster of 2023 included a tough but pivotal decision - leaving my job after four years as a pioneer staff. The journey to quit was challenging, but the strength gained from making that hard decision echoes in my present. Life, like gold, often requires enduring challenges to become truly valuable.

  1. Lessons Learned:

In 2023, the trio of Focus, Honor, and Loyalty stood out as crucial lessons. Focusing on priorities, learning from mentors, and concentrating efforts on specific targets became paramount. Honor, beyond respecting age, extended to everyone, fostering a culture of respect and decency. Loyalty, a commitment to support regardless of circumstances, played a vital role, intertwined with honor. The wisdom applied in adhering to these principles ensured a more enriching life.

  1. Approach Differently:

2024 calls for a heightened commitment to focus, honor, and loyalty. Disciplined devotion to cherished pursuits and relationships would reshape experiences for the better. Embracing progress over perfection, inspired by the wise words of Oliver Hack, becomes a guiding principle for the new year.

  1. Advice for 2024:

Innovate, strive for personal excellence, and anchor yourself in faith. The key to navigating 2024 lies in embracing change, pushing personal boundaries, and relying on the steadfast support of a higher power.

"Hey, everyone! I'm Mercy Ajay, also known as Wildflower, and I'm thrilled to be part of the 2024 edition of the Coding Rubbish Podcast. Big thanks to Benjamin Nathaniel for having me here. Today, I want to share a bit of my experience from 2023.

One of the most memorable moments for me was working on a project that initially seemed daunting. A friend recommended me for it, and despite my fears and self-doubt, I decided to take it on. I spent months preparing and hesitated several times, but my friend consistently affirmed and encouraged me. Eventually, I took the leap, and the experience turned out to be transformative.

This project pushed me beyond my comfort zone, and through it, I discovered capabilities within myself that I wasn't fully aware of. It made me realize that continuous growth happens when we face challenges that require us to apply what we've learned. Sometimes, we underestimate our potential until we put our knowledge into practice.

The key lesson from this experience is that we are all capable individuals. There's no exclusive group designated for greatness; everyone has the potential for extraordinary achievements. It's crucial to give ourselves permission to try and to recognize our own capabilities.

Moreover, I learned the importance of shedding limiting beliefs. Past negative experiences can linger in our minds, affecting our confidence. I discovered that getting rid of these limiting beliefs and working on self-belief is essential for seizing opportunities.

While I successfully navigated the project, I also acknowledged that I could have approached it differently. I realized the importance of starting such endeavors with a calm and confident mindset, avoiding unnecessary panic. Moving forward, I aim to take on new challenges with more poise and self-assurance.

In conclusion, remember that you are worthy of anything and everything you desire, as long as it aligns with your purpose and has a positive impact. Stay open-minded, keep learning, and be prepared for the opportunities you're praying for. Jump on opportunities to showcase yourself, and embrace the uniqueness of your journey.

Wishing everyone an amazing 2024 filled with growth, learning, and success. Thank you again for having me on the podcast. Here's to an incredible year ahead! 🌟"

"Hello, everyone! How's the new year treating you? I hope we're all excited about the possibilities this year holds. We're not just going to witness 2024; we're going to make it count. Ensure that you set clear goals and work towards them diligently. My name is Tinyang, and I'm joining you from Adamawa State, Nigeria.

I've been asked to share my 2023 experience in a nutshell. I believe in the power of goal-setting, and according to Brian Tracy, it's crucial to set SMART goals - Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-bound. I invested time in learning how to set better goals, and it made a significant difference.

In 2023, I accomplished many of the goals I set for myself, including starting a company on WhatsApp focused on digital parenting. I also dedicated time to personal and professional development, attending paid seminars and reading numerous books. Reflecting on the past year, I realized that the more I set goals, the more my mind opened up to new possibilities.

For 2024, I've already begun by opening an academy, the Children and Teens Mentoring Academy. I believe in aiming higher each year, and my journey has taught me that whatever you think about, you can achieve. Write down your goals; it's like planting a seed that will germinate over time.

While my 2023 wasn't without challenges, including bouts of depression, I learned that failure is a part of the journey. The key is not to stay down; instead, get up, clean up, and move forward. Ask yourself the right questions, keep a journal, and create your own success story in 2024.

I want to express my gratitude to Benthaniel for this opportunity, and I hope to share more successes with you next year. Here's to making 2024 an incredible year for all of us. Thank you, and I wish you all success on your journeys. This is Tinyang signing out!"

In 2023, reuniting with my family after three years for my dad's burial was poignant. Despite the sorrowful occasion, the moments shared with my mum, siblings, and loved ones were truly unforgettable. The laughter, tears, stories, and bonds reaffirmed the importance of family as my true home.

However, the year also brought challenges, revealing the dangers of settling, overthinking, and neglecting intentional relationship commitments. Feeling stuck and distracted, I lost opportunities and lagged in achieving goals. Despite the setbacks, having a close network of confidants provided crucial support, reinforcing the value of shared experiences.

Approaching 2024, my strategy will involve prioritizing God, seeking audacity in pursuing goals, and avoiding reliance on external validation. The advice for the upcoming year is to embrace life fully with God, hold family close, and intentionally cultivate kindness. Understanding God's role, seeking excellence, and practicing kindness can lead to a purposeful and fulfilling journey in 2024 and beyond.

Hello everyone,

This is Courage, also known as Cino, a musician, creative personnel, designer, videographer, and more. Reflecting on 2023, it was a wonderful year filled with diverse experiences—both beautiful and challenging.

One memorable experience stands out, where I invested significant time and effort into someone else's project, neglecting my own business. Unfortunately, the person didn't appreciate the sacrifice, leading to cancellations and a feeling of being undervalued. The lesson learned was the importance of evaluating the benefits and drawbacks before emotionally committing to endeavors.

Looking ahead, I advise approaching goals in 2024 with careful consideration, avoiding emotional decisions. Deliberate planning, staying focused, and investing time in personal growth are crucial. Remember to prioritize rest, as a tired mind limits creative thinking.

To fellow young individuals, learn valuable skills that align with emerging industries. Network with those above you, read books, and seek mentorship. Connect with people you admire, even if not in person.

In 2024, speak your goals into existence, plan daily, and trust in God. Balancing professional pursuits with spiritual growth is key.

Thank you for having me on this platform. Wishing you all a blissful and prosperous 2024. Happy New Year!

Hello everyone,

I'm Naomi Paul, a Writer, BeautyPreneur, and Perfume Vendor. In 2023, a seemingly simple incident taught me profound lessons. While at my aunt's house, bathroom tiles fell on me, leading to bruises. Fearful of the cost and her reaction, I hesitated but eventually shared the truth. Surprisingly, she was more concerned about my safety, admitting the tiles were sub-standard and needed replacement.

This experience emphasized the importance of transparency. In every situation, telling the truth can save you from unforeseen consequences. Hiding the truth might seem tempting, but it often leads to more stress and complications.

Sharing another instance from last year, when my phone got damaged, I chose honesty with my mom. She responded with understanding and helped me repair it for free, avoiding unnecessary expenses.

The key takeaway: Be transparent, be truthful. It might be challenging, but in the long run, it brings peace and positive outcomes. As we step into 2024, let's embrace the power of truthful transparency.

Thank you to Mr. Ben and the entire team for having me on Golden Rubbish 2024.

🎙️ Welcome, everyone, to another special episode of Golden Rubbish 2024 Day 2. I'm Pwakusari Ezra, and tonight, I'll be sharing my profound journey through 2023.

The year was a roller coaster, filled with highs and lows. I began the year with a new job, thrilled by the prospect of growth and a higher income. However, as months passed, I felt underutilized, lacking the necessary resources to excel.

In March, contemplating resignation, I questioned why God had led me to this seemingly stagnant situation. In a moment of clarity, I realized that my purpose in this role was not just about office tasks but rather human connections and imparting knowledge.

Concentrating on this revelation, I embraced my assignment. Ironically, by April, the organization faced financial constraints and terminated our employment. It became evident that God had a different plan for me.

The lesson? Always follow God's leading. Seek His guidance in moments of confusion and uncertainty. Hebrews 4:16 reassures us that approaching God's throne brings mercy and grace in times of need.

As we step into 2024, my advice is simple: cultivate a personal relationship with God. Let Him be your guide, teacher, counselor, supplier, strength, and source. Allow Him to be your motivational speaker, for only He knows all things. Embrace God as your all in this new year.

Amen. 🙏

Welcome back to another episode of WeInspire Podcast, the podcast that set you on the positive side of everyday. I'm your host, and today we're diving into a topic that many aspiring business owners grapple with – why friends won't invest in your business.

You've got a fantastic business idea, a solid businessplan, and you're ready to take the entrepreneurial plunge. But one roadblock you might face is getting financial support from your friends. Why is that?Let's explore some of the reasons why your closest companions might hesitate to invest in your business.

  1. Risk and Fear: One of the most significantreasons your friends might not invest is the perceived risk. Starting abusiness is inherently uncertain, and your friends might worry about losing their money or damaging your relationship if the venture doesn't succeed. They may also fear the strain it could place on your friendship if they need to have difficult conversations about the business's performance.

2. Lack of Expertise: Friends may not investbecause they don't fully understand your industry or business model. They might not have the expertise to evaluate the potential success of your venture. This lack of knowledge can make them uncomfortable, as they may not feel equipped tomake an informed decision.

3. Financial Constraints: Your friends may havetheir financial limitations and goals, which do not align with your business needs. They might be saving for their own ventures, home purchases, or retirement. It's important to respect their financial boundaries and not press them to invest more than they are comfortable with.

4. Business Concept: Sometimes, your businessconcept or the industry you're entering might not resonate with your friends' values or interests. For instance, they might have ethical concerns about your business or lack a personal passion for your industry, making it challenging for them to invest.

5. Friendship Preservation: Friends often investin your business emotionally and with their time and support. They might be worried that a financial investment could jeopardize your relationship if things don't go as planned. They may prefer to provide non-financial support to protect your friendship.

So, what can you do when faced with friends who won'tinvest in your business? Here are some tips:

1. Communicate Clearly: Start by having open andhonest conversations with your friends. Share your passion and vision for your business, as well as the potential risks and rewards. Help them understand why you believe in your idea.

2. Respect Their Decisions: It's crucial to respect your friends' choices, whether they decide to invest or not. Understand that their financial decisions are personal, and they should never feelpressured or obligated to invest.

3. Seek Outside Investors: If your friends can't or won't invest, consider looking for outside investors who are specifically interested in your industry. There are many resources available to help you find potential investors who align with your business goals.

4. Leverage Their Skills: Even if your friends can't invest financially, they may have valuable skills and connections thatcan help your business succeed. Consider asking for their support in different ways, such as mentoring, networking, or marketing.

5. Prove Your Concept: Sometimes, friends need tosee proof of your business concept before they're willing to invest. Start by building a strong foundation for your business and gaining traction in the market. As your business grows, they may become more willing to invest.

In conclusion, it's essential to remember that your friends' reluctance to invest in your business doesn't reflect on your idea'squality or your capabilities as an entrepreneur. Each person's financial situation, risk tolerance, and interests are unique. Respect their decisions, keep your friendships...

Remember, your journey as an entrepreneur is uniquely yours, and you're not alone in facing these obstacles.

So, take a moment to sit down, relax and listen to these words of encouragement.

Topic: POLITE EXCLUSIVITY

Guest: AJOKE F. AREGBEYEN

One of the experiences I had in the year 2020 was in the area of making friends. The lessons I learned was that when you meet people and you appear to share the same interest you engage in the same type of activities. It doesn't mean that your values are the same or the fact that they pledged to the same kind of values that you ascribe to all the approval of it. It doesn't mean that they uphold the same values in their lives or strive to keep them. People can be very, very different from who they proclaim to be, no matter how old or how experienced they appear to be. So no matter how perfecting since from the beginning and you meet people and it seems that you've known each other for a very long time. Take your time before giving them access to you as a friend.

Certain things should be earned. Take your time before opening up to them and take your time before being vulnerable to them. No matter how perfect you think um you guys are, you can't always know people's intentions with you when you just meet them. I know this sounds cliché but until it happens to you, you will not understand. So you can't always know people's intentions with you from the beginning from the get go. So take your time to really get to know them and allow them graduating that skill before they are sent to being who you call your friend who you are able to open up to and give all those privileges that you give to your friendsIf given another chance, what would I do?When I meet people for the first time, it's a great idea to be kind. It's a great idea to be welcoming. I'll be kind, I'll be welcoming, I'll be hospitable, but a lot of me will be on reserve. Uh, it will be kept for those who have earned it and I wouldn't be so hasty is to think I have the um, well I call it guts or instinct to know that, okay, this is the kind of person that this person fits into this kind of category. I feel I have a fair understanding of this person judging by what I've gotten to know about them um, during this short period of what they've told me. So it's not being rude, is not being unfriendly. We just have to allow people to earn the position of friendship is not something you just slap on somebody because you like that person. Friendship is a big responsibility and all the things that you do with your friends is not something you just want to do with someone because you have a feeling that this person is fits in the category of the kind of people you call your friends.

Well I feel like my 2nd and 3rd questions I answer, I have already given the advice, but um I'll just give an advice that is not really related to what I've said. Um the advice I would give anybody is just to have faith, just have feet and keep believing. Um don't limit what you want to achieve. Don't limit your desires to what you know, but what you feel, you know, if you knew how to get to where you want to get too, or you know how to achieve all your dreams, you already be here by now. So you have to learn to have faith in God or in a higher power on whatever you believe in. So have faith and believe. Do not limit what you think you can achieve to your level of reasoning at this time or to your level of thinking. Just keep having faith in God in um whatever you want to achieve anyway, Thank you

Topic: OVERCOMING LACK OF SELF-WORTH

Guest: BENJAMIN NATHANIEL

At some point in our lives, many of us battle feelings of inadequacy and unworthiness. In this episode of The Golden Rubbish 2023, I'll discuss my experience with feeling unworthy, as well as the steps I've taken to get ready for potential opportunities and strengthen my sense of self-worth.

August 2020 I was privileged to be the project manager of a school building project. By March 2023, we had completed the project, the school was open, and pupils were already enjoying classes. When the work in the field was completed, I was asked to come and start working in the Abuja office, but I was afraid that I would underperform because I was a field guy and now I would have to face the office daily wahala, so I declined the offer. In the end, I realized that my negative thoughts and feelings were based on limiting beliefs and insecurities, rather than reality.

So what did I do to prevent the above from happening again, you may ask?

1. I practice self-reflection and seeking support from trusted sources.

Self-reflection and seeking support from trusted sources are crucial for personal growth and well-being. By taking the time to reflect on one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, individuals can gain a deeper understanding of themselves and identify areas that need improvement. This introspective process can lead to increased self-awareness, insight, and a greater sense of control over one's life.

2. I engaging in activities and hobbies that bring joy and a sense of accomplishment.

Engaging in activities and hobbies that bring joy and a sense of accomplishment is a crucial aspect of livening a fulfilling life. Whether it's gardening, painting, or playing a musical instrument, having a creative outlet can help relieve stress and improve overall mental health.

3. I practice self-compassion and speaking kindly to myself.

Practicing self-compassion and speaking kindly to oneself is essential for overall mental and emotional wellbeing. In today's fast-paced world, it's easy to get caught up in negative self-talk and criticism, but this only exacerbates stress and anxiety.

Self-compassion and speaking kindly to oneself are important for maintaining mental and emotional health. By being mindful, engaging in self-care, and using positive language, we can create a supportive inner environment that promotes well-being and happiness.

4. I surround myself with positive and supportive people...

5. I Challenge limiting beliefs and negative thoughts...

6. I Focused on personal strengths and accomplishments.

Focusing on personal strengths and accomplishments can have a profound impact on one's self-esteem and well-being. By recognizing and celebrating one's successes and unique abilities, individuals can gain a greater sense of confidence and motivation in their personal and professional lives.

Focusing on personal strengths and accomplishments can have a positive impact on one's self-esteem, confidence, and well-being. By regularly taking time to reflect on and celebrate one's successes and abilities, individuals can develop a growth mindset, foster a positive outlook, and achieve greater satisfaction in their lives.

Finally, developing a sense of self-worth takes time and effort, but it is a journey worth undertaking. By challenging negative thoughts and focusing on our strengths, we can learn to love and appreciate ourselves just as we are. Remember to be kind to yourself and seek support from others when needed.

Topic: BECOMING A BETTER PERSON

Guest: CYNTHIA OMOREGIE

My name is Cynthia Omoregie. I am here to share my experience that made me indecisive, forgetful and procrastinate. My life was a mess and I needed a practical solution.

Last year, I had so much goals that I wanted to achieve. I had planned for growth in my career, family, finances and spiritual life. However, I was only able to achieve some, procrastinated a few and even totally shunned others.

I needed great help to not repeat similar mistakes and then it lit up in my mind that I had underestimated the power of planning.

In life, it is so easy to get busy and carried away with activities that you lose precious time doing things that are not of priority or significance.

Planning helps you to organize and coordinate yourself with the resources that are within your reach. Just imagine staying in a disarranged and scattered room, it would be difficult to move about, there would be poor ventilation, a sore sight and even a choked mind. On the other hand, a well arranged room has the aura of peace, good energy and creativity.

Here are some practical tips to help get your life on track with proper planning;

• In 7 habits of highly effective people, whatever is important and urgent- do; not important and urgent- delegate; important and not urgent- plan; not important and not urgent- eliminate.

• Set a to-do-list for the day and review the list at the end of the day noting what was achieved, not achieved and in progress.

• Put up your goals where you can see it every time. It serves as a reminder of what you want.

• Have a single scheduler containing activities, tasks or meetings. It helps to easily manage your time and not overload your day.

• Reflect on your week, the things that went well and evaluate the causes of the things you were not able to accomplish.

• Plan for your all round health. Health include physical, spiritual, mental and emotional wellbeing. You may take a creative class, vacation or a new skill.

This year always take out time to plan. It pays to plan. For me, with a good plan, I become a better person and I achieve my set goals.

So, I will end with a question, how can you include planning as a routine for better progress?, if you can think it then do it. Thank you

Topic: MY ACTION MY RESPONSIBILITY

Guest: Wale Andrew Woblai

It is a joy to be on this edition of "Golden Rubbish" this year. Again, I am Wale Andrew Woblai shortly I will just take you through some moment of my pains that I found gain and they can be seen known as trash but there were treasures I was able to extract from it. You can call them rubbish. But they were some golden things I found from them last year. I took the decision to resign from my job. I was working for a mobile company, and the job was paying averagely, and life wasn't too bad. But then, deep within me, at some point, I lost satisfaction. I knew I needed something more, and the working environment was not too comfortable any longer. But then to resign without having another job at hand. It's very crazy. It was something that I didn't consult people around me before taking that action because I know they will not agree or consent to such decision because it looks crazy indeed.

Majorly because of the state of the nation. You know they said there is no job you that have this one, you should manage it, they say half bread is better than none blah blah blah and all of those stuffs.

So, I just felt after sending my resignation that's when I was informed people and that was exactly what I did send my resignation and because of the contribution that I have made for that company they were shocked that such a staff will be resigning. The HR called me and some other bosses called me, trying to talk me back into the job, but I was keen to hear them change the offer, making things much more better. But they never mentioned things like that, especially the pay. You know, one of the reasons why we walk is for the money, and the work environment should be comfortable, but all of these things were not adding up any longer for me.

Some other people will be grateful to have what I had, but then I knew I needed something more, and because I am not another person, I knew it was time for me to leave, so I just took that bold and crazy step. Send my resignation later in April told the company by May I will be stopping the job with them. And exactly that was what happened. I remember when people around me in fact including siblings when I told them this is what I've done they were not really happy that I would do such a thing and the entire thing now boils down to so what are you hoping to do? And so many questions that I don't have all of the answers but I knew it's time for me to leave which was why I left lessons I've learned from that experience...

And even considering that I am not married, I don't have a family. The people I God is using me to be of blessing too. I just know God will still make a win. So I just had to go. So if you have more responsibility, don't dare what I did, but if you know you can survive when it's time to leave, I advise you to leave, but if you choose to stay, you should calculate is the pay worth stress will continue staying be healthy because I will not advise anybody to stay when it will not reach to a point where to affect your mental health.

And then I knew so well that when I left, there would be many from the company and even outside that would be looking at me to make sarcastic comments like, "Look at him now that he's left; look at his life as it's getting better; things have become worse. We know he was taking the wrong step and all that kind of stuff like that. But then it is important for you to know that if you want to take such kind of steps, it requires work, quitting for more work is not quitting to rest. It is quitting to work because eyes will be on you and I'm grateful for all of the experience because today, I can boldly say all that has happened, happened for my good thank you.

Topic: HEALTHY LIFE STYLE

Guest: TEMITAYO OKEREJI

Growing up you might have heard the term ‘Health is Wealth’, but its essential meaning is still not clear to most people. Generally, people confuse good health with being free of any kind of illness. While it may be part of the case, it is not entirely what good health is all about. So, to lead a healthy life, a person must be fit and fine both physically and mentally. For instance, if you are constantly eating junk food yet you do not have any disease, it does not make you healthy. You are not consuming healthy food which naturally means you are not healthy, just surviving. Therefore, to actually live and not merely survive, you need to have the basic essentials that make up for a healthy lifestyle.

I want to focus on a brief narrative. In the year 2022, I developed a number of severe illnesses. I was unaware of how horrible it was. I spent two and a half months in and out of the hospital and after a series of tests, scans, and other procedures it revealed layers and layers of diagnosis. Although it may have seemed slow to some, I recovered as quickly as my mind could with the help of my family and friends. I can assure you that I'll never be the same again. I was traumatized, and such an experience is not something that someone who values and prioritizes their health will go through. My point is that the time, money, people's time, and other resources used may have been better utilized elsewhere If I became aware of it earlier...

Guess what I will perform superiorly if given another chance in this situation? A healthy lifestyle. Fast one... I used to think I was in excellent health because I led an above-average lifestyle, but now that I know better, I'll make some lifestyle changes. These adjustments will involve alterations to my eating, sleeping, and lifestyle patterns. I’ll eat a well-balanced, nutrient-dense diet for my physical wellness to mention yes, I do all these now.

Now my piece of advice to you, well, as it is clear by now, good health is a luxury which everyone wants but some cannot afford. This point itself states the importance of a healthy lifestyle. When a person leads a healthy lifestyle, he/she will be free from the tension of seeking medical attention every now and then.

On the contrary, if you have poor health, you will usually spend your time in a hospital and the bills will take away your mental peace. Therefore, a healthy lifestyle means you will be able to enjoy your life freely. Similarly, when you have a relaxed mind at all times, you will be able to keep your loved ones happy. A healthy individual is more likely to fulfil all of his goals because he can easily focus on them and has the energy to complete them. This is why the proverb “Health is Wealth” carries so much weight.

Unlike a machine, the body needs rest at regular intervals. A minimum of six to seven hours of sleep is necessary for the body to function optimally. Drinking plenty of water and a balanced diet is also very important for your body. If you violate the basic laws of good health, like working late hours, ignoring physical exercise, eating junk food, it will lead to various ailments like hypertension, heart attacks, and other deadly diseases.

Inshort, healthy life is the highest blessing that must not be taken for granted. It is truly the source of all happiness. Money may buy you all the luxuries in the world but it cannot buy you good health. You are solely responsible for that, so for your well-being and happiness, it is better to switch to a healthy lifestyle

Topic: CONVERTING PAIN TO GAIN

Guest: AUGUSTINE AYODELE JOSEPH

Hello, my name is Augustine Ayodele Joseph. I would rather prefer to be called "Delz (the customer guy)." My Golden Rubbish experience for the year 2022 is an awesome one. This year was full of lots of ups and downs, down moments at low points that I felt oh it was the end, I will not be able to bounce back. But one thing I experienced is that throughout all of these times that I was at this low point, one way or another, God as a way of bringing me back and this is why I'm sharing this experience with Golden Rubbish for this year because starting from the 5th of January 2022 I had like this very terrible called about my older brothers and the battles we are going around at this time, I was also trying to really find my feet in the professional space, like in the area of customer success, I had just been moved to the department in the officer. Well, unfortunately, I lost my brother on February 14th, and I was like, "Oh, so this can actually happen to me." I've always heard people talk about it, but I've never suffered the loss of a loved one. So after the loss of my brother, I felt there was nothing else to live for. So life should just go, yes I contemplated maybe just do something crazy, stop work.

No, there's no point working again, just enjoy your life, just be you, no longer serious. But one way or another, there's this thing that I just felt in my spirit and as against doing this terrible thing, you know, I'll just dump everything here because there's no point working. I then discovered that there was actually a reason to walk. I turned my pain into passion, right? And at that point I began to walk and walk was working 24 hours a day. I was walking around like 24 hours around the clock every time my colleagues abroad, anybody that is in the US, in Estonia in Philippines in that’s in Asia, it looks like I'm living all of these times and I'm learning and paying attention to all of these people all at once and instead of three months I discovered that I have grown, I became better...

When you take on responsibility, you become scared and think to yourself, "I can't do this." But while we are another, if that challenge will come by 2:00am today, By 8:00pm yesterday God as a way of making providence and these things will just come in one way or another and you'll be able to move it. That's basically my Golden Rubbish experience for the year 2022. And now, in January 2023, I can say with certainty that the year 2022 was a very great year. I suffered not suffering but like this is good suffering. I mean, we're talking about Golden Rubbish. Yes, it looks like rubbish, all of the dirt that life throws at me, rather than just letting it pull me down. I was able to storm the weather and I became better and I can say for a fact categorically that this is just the beginning. I am here now. I have learnt that suffering challenges is part of human experience. Every suffering that comes away is just a way of making us better. Because God will never let a man go through a challenge that he or she cannot surmount, right before God allows the challenge to come, he has already provided the strength; his grace is sufficient to pull us through. Thank you very much. That's by my time.

I am Delz (the customer guy), and I have a wonderful 2023 ahead.

Topic: SURVIVING THE STORM

Guest: BLESSING EWA

In the year 2022, I had so many experiences that I was able to learn from, but I will share with you one experience that I had in 2022 that I learned so much from and that helped shape my mentality towards life. One of which was my leaving a job. So I had to move to Abuja. So I left the job that I was working in Nasarawa hoping that when I get to Abuja with all my skills and expertise, I should be able to get a job in Abuja as soon as possible, say one month. So I was very highly confident. And the thing is, before leaving for Abuja, I just did not make that decision. I even had to ask the Holy Spirit if it was okay to move or if it was the right time to move; I knew that my time at the previous work place was done and it was time to move on to the next level of my life. So I had spoken to the Holy Spirit, and I told him to give me a sign for me to move on. If you give me a sign and it says "green," then I will go. And then you give me a positive sign from three of them that it was evidence enough that I should move on. So I actually resigned; I dropped my resignation.

I then left for Abuja; I had a place to stay with an uncle of mine, so I was hoping that as soon as possible, I should be able to get a job with my years of experience. As you know, I try to engage myself in as much community service as possible. So what is my greatest shock for 2022? For the first seven months, I had nothing to do. I'm the first child in my family, and I have responsibilities. So whenever I make money, I don't just make it for myself. I make money thinking of my family too. So that's how, as you know, I live my life. So it got to a point where it dawned on me that I did not have a job. I have tried several applications. I have spoken to people; I have even had you reach out to people one-on-one, asking if there are opportunities in the organization so that I can work; was there nothing at all? It appeared that I was experiencing a setback and should not proceed, and I knew that at that time, people desperately needed my assistance and I was unable to provide it. That's how bad it felt; it brought me to a very deep period of depression. I was going in and out of depression because I couldn't stop thinking about how much more I wanted to help my family, and, you know, the one thing I've told myself in life, knowing where I'm coming from, is to never stay out of a job. So, no matter how little I get paid, I make sure that at the end of the month, I always get paid something. Because I know how much we suffered when we were quite young. I started working very early, even before I started university, because I didn't want to suffer all of that anymore. But at this particular point in time, the questions I've been asking myself were:..

Because I believe that if I am to celebrate the glory of manifesting the glory of God, I cannot manifest his glory without the story. So, the story must come from somewhere for it to show that this is actually the glory of God. So who knows? Maybe you are chosen to manifest the glory of God in the future.

So you must come with the story. If you don’t have stories like Joseph, Job, or Daniel, your products will not succeed. It would just be normal to everybody, but when you come from a place where your story is so touching that people begin to wonder, "How did you survive this?" And they begin to tell them about your faith in God. Sometimes most of these things that happens, God allows them for a reason, maybe you should think deep and see what reason that is Maybe God will also glorify his name in the near future. So I do hope this encourages somebody in 2023. I know 2023 is going to be a good year for people, but nonetheless, should you find yourself in that dark spot that did Valley Remember to keep your head above water and you find yourself surviving the storm.

Thank you very much.

Topic: MANAGING ANXIETY

Guest: YAKUBU SINI

Hello everyone. My name is Sini. Today I want to talk about what I call "managing anxiety." I know in the time pass we have passed through one level of anxious moments or two or many times in our different phases of life. I have also passed through so many anxious moments, but the most important thing is not passing through such memories but rather how we manage such moments. Of course, at every phase of life, we face different challenges, but challenges are not your problem, how we manage such challenges is actually much more important. So I want to share from my experience how I have managed some anxious moments in my life, especially in the past one year, and how such moments have helped me to shape my character and shape my skills. You know, to shape my life that actually propelled me to where I am right now. So, anxious moments are not necessarily bad. However, if we fail to manage them, it can resolve to something that we don't want or it can produce a negative outcomes in our life.

So, it is very-very important for us to know how to manage anxious moments in our lives. It is very important for us to device mechanisms of how to manage such moment and anxious moment usually come at a time of breakthroughs in our life. You know, at a point where we are switching from one phase to another, that's where such a social movement usually comes from, and if you fail to manage them as I said, it would definitely create a negative outcome. It is natural for every human being to like to be in his or her comfort zone. However, being in your comfort zone might not necessarily translate into growth. So, life is full of risk, and the greater the measurable risks you take, the higher your chances of becoming successful...

So what I did was to forget about those things, to forget about what is next in my career, and I was concentrating on achieving my immediate Milestone, and at that time, my immediate Milestone ensure that I wrote my dissertation very well, so I concentrated my energy on ensuring that, I actually write a fantastic dissertation. I wrote a fantastic, well-referenced dissertation that can be presented anywhere in the world. I did not worry about what is going to happen tomorrow, where I'm going to go next, I was concentrating on achieving my immediate Milestone and immediately I finish writing my dissertation. I now progress into doing some academic application and doing some job application, and at any time that I was doing that I made sure that I put my best in the process of doing those application, thinking not about what the outcomes of such application will be, you will discover that any time you find yourself in an anxious situation, if you don't manage it very well, it will deny you from putting a lot of effort in achieving Something that is great for you at that time. And when I did that, I concentrated on achieving my immediate milestone. I discovered that those anxieties were no more there, I redefined my success, and the way I defined it was that my ability to do what I am supposed to do right now in the very best way is success, rather than my long-term goals.

So every day I ensured that I was successful in what I was doing, and that strategy actually helped me achieve long-term success. So, what I learned from that scenario is that to achieve your biggest success or your long-term success, it is highly dependent on your ability to achieve your small, small, small successes or small small, small Milestone because those smaller milestones are what will lead to achieving your bigger milestone.

So, my challenge for you today is: how well are you managing your immediate milestone today?

How well are you managing that small job that you're doing while you are looking forward to that big a job?

Thank you for listening.

Topic: GUARD YOUR HEART

Guest: MERCY AJEH

In 2022, I finally got hold of 2 things I had been waiting for, for a long time but they didn't come with the happiness I envisaged.

I mean, I thought I'd have all the butterflies in my stomach, melody in my heart, and my season of unending laughter would start but instead, I felt overwhelmed and my heart ached in the midst of seeming answer to long-time prayers.

It painted me as ungrateful, filled me with dread for my person, made me question my understanding of happiness, and covered me with guilt and shame for myself.

What went wrong? You might ask

Aren't we supposed to be happy with answered prayers? I had those questions as well but I'll give you an answer shortly,

I learned a lot from this experience. I had been hoarding my happiness, trying it to an accomplishment I was looking forward to, so when the accomplishment came, it looked bleak because happiness is not something you put on the line as a reward to drive you to get another thing. You reward yourself with gifts for a job well done which is perfectly okay but you do not reward yourself with happiness because happiness is a state you're meant to constantly live in, it is meant to be a part of you and shouldn't be limited to just when things are rosy.

So, I lived in gloom waiting for something to happen before I pick up happiness again but because feelings aren't clothes we can put on and take off at will, (even though sometimes we can), I had to wait to unlearn gloom and appreciate the good that had come to me.

It was hard, it wasn't easy, the weight of gloom is weighty, scary, depressing, it leaves you teary and begging because you're scared of never being happy again. You are wondering if it'll ever be happy with you because if all you thought would make you happy, didn't, then what is your happiness fate in life?

If I have the chance to relive 2022, I would start from 1st January to be in charge of my mood, feelings and emotions regardless of the glaring truth of my situation. I'll choose to be positive, alive, and happy. I'll choose to live through it all so that I don't go back to zero point finding myself when I should be enjoying my breakthrough.

So, my advice to you is that tough times don't last, like they'll always say, seasons would pass but as much as possible, guard yourself, guard your heart. You do not want to lose yourself before your breakthrough, else of what use is the breakthrough?

Live through each season so that you can enjoy the proceeds when the season ends. Do not wait, do not wait, because, at the end of waiting, you would struggle to find you, you would struggle to exude happiness, and you would struggle to be joyful. If you cannot be joyful now, you won't be joyful when the breakthrough comes but if you can take it one day at a time encouraging yourself to be happy when the breakthrough comes, you would not be learning to be happy afresh, you would just be happy

Topic: Positive Impact of Mentorship

Guest: Simeon olabode

My most memorable experience in the year 2022 was when I almost lost an opportunity that changed the course of my life. The year 2021 ended with me learning different skills that will enable me to transition to a career in tech. Prior to that time, I was a college lecturer of Religious studies, and I didn’t resign from my previous job until May 2022. After I resigned, I find it difficult to cope because I couldn’t get another job immediately. So, I was working a part-time job until I got the opening at my current workplace. The application and interview processes started in July 2022, and it was a five stages interview process. By the end of July, I had passed the third stage and was proceeding to the fourth stage. So, I got a mail on the evening of Friday, 22nd July 2022 asking me to come for the fourth stage of the interview on Monday, 25th July 2022.

The first three stages had all been virtual interviews, and I didn’t have any issues with that. However, I was perplexed when I got the mail on that Friday evening because I didn’t have enough money to travel from Yola to Lagos the next morning. Apart from the transport fare, I had other concerns like; where I was going to stay during the interview period and also if the whole journey is worth it at all since it was still the fourth stage and not passing that stage means that I will have to return to Yola spending another two whole days on the road, this time with disappointment. I got wearied by my thoughts and fell asleep. So, the next day on Saturday morning, I forgot about traveling for the interview and decided to visit my mentor instead. When I got to his house, we talked about other issues apart from the interview, and most of the time he was talking while I was listening.

So at about 11:30 am, he received a package from another state and while we were talking about the package, I mentioned that I was also supposed to travel for an interview at Lagos, but I am giving it up since I didn’t have money for transport fare. However, upon hearing that, he gave me some money and asked me to leave immediately so that I won’t miss the opportunity. He didn’t even allow me to express my other concerns. So I left rushing off to the park to see if I could get a direct bus but at that time, it was already late. I had to travel to another state to get a bus going to Lagos. I arrived in Lagos on Monday and headed straight for the interview. Long story short, I got the job...

What I will do better if I am given another chance is to never give up easily and to be more proactive in taking decisions. We are usually prone to choose comfort over hard work or risk. I mean, a lot of people will rather choose to stay in their comfort zone than involve themselves in work that is hard or risky. However, the hard and risky things that we do are the things that bring significant changes to our lives. Many “what ifs” will want to stop us from doing what is needed to bring about the considerable turnaround that we desire in life. We must, therefore, learn to see beyond the “what ifs” and jolt ourselves into the necessary action that is required to transform our lives.

One piece of advice that I will love to give to our listeners for the year 2023 is to go do the hard things. Let’s leave our comfort zones (whatever they may be) and pursue those hard things that we naturally don’t like to do because those hard things (be it skill, decision, lifestyle, or mindset) are the things that will bring about transformation in our lives.

Topic: DISCOVERING YOUR STRENGTH

My name is Jennifer Eleojo James

I am a Surveyor by profession and an entrepreneur by hustle.

I got a job at a firm in July, started working, and had worked for over three months as an administrative assistant. I worked with the company by obviously using one of my phones as a communication channel with the company's line. Two weeks into the 11th month of the year, my fifth month with the company, I received a text telling me not to resume work until the first of the next month. I had no idea why, but I assumed I was going to work from home. Even so, I couldn't help but wonder why. I soon received a call from my boss stating the reason why I had to stay back home till the first of the next month: I had not been keeping up with my tasks prior to that time, so I was to go home and stay for the rest of that month, and I was not going to be paid any of my salary to resume on the 1st of the next month. So my boss said he was going to save up—like, use my salary to save up to buy a new phone for the office? OK!

That leads me to the reason why I had not been keeping up with my task. A few months before that particular week, my phone had stopped working, and I informed my boss. He said he was going to buy a new phone for the company. 1, 2 months passed with no phone in the office, affecting the output of my work, and every day I failed to meet my task of making phone calls, sending texts, and responding to clients via WhatsApp messages, #2,000 was deducted from my salary. So, at the end of the month, I will receive less than my actual salary, but I didn't complain. I worked that way until I got a call saying I couldn't start working again until the first of the next month. My response was, "OK!" Interestingly, he stated that I used to have three phones. What happened to all of them? I answered that I never had three phones.

I only had two phones, and I used one for the office, and I informed him when my phone was packed. He said again, "I understand you have a business; let’s see how your business will sustain you till the end of next month." You're not resuming work until the first week of next month, and there's also no salary for you. I said OK! Towards the end of the month, I received a text from my boss stating that he had gotten a phone for the office and that I should take the sim to the office for the phone to be set up and ready for use. I waited until the first of the next month. I took the SIM to the office on the 1st of the month. I was asked to resume, and then I was given a task, which I completed without complaining. I got back home, and I started thinking. "Really, my boss wants me to resume without a stipend or anything to sustain me throughout the month, and then I wasn't paid salary for the previous month?" I wondered. There was no compensation for my phone going bad, no appreciation for using the phone for the office; instead, I was paid by not being paid my salary and being asked to go home. I just realized that if I allowed it, it would happen again, if not in the same month, then at the same time of year. So I decided to tender my resignation. So I didn't want to leave the office out of anger or create a scene before leaving the office; I wanted to just leave the office peacefully like nothing happened...

LESSONS

● I learnt to say no when things don’t go right; I learnt to respect myself especially where my right was being trampled on; I also learnt to believe in myself, my skill and my business because it kept me through till this moment.

ADVICE:

● Not all bad situations are bad. You sometimes discover your strength in bad situations.

So whenever you find yourself in a bad situation, sit down and patiently make lemonade out of the lemons thrown at you.

Thank you!

TOPIC: STRIKING A BALANCE

Hi there, my name is Calvin K. Antonza. I specialize in helping brands and businesses grow their visibility online through professional Website & Graphic Design.

I'm grateful to Mr. Ben and the entire team for granting me the privilege to speak at Golden Rubbish 2023. Today I'll be sharing what I learnt in 2022 and also what I should have done to achieve better results.

My 2022 started with a whole lot of Goals and Plans. Just like a lot of us, I also wrote down some things I wanted to achieve. I was also hopeful that 2022 will be a tremendous year.

So, the year began and I got my first Website Contract for the year, early January of 2022. Things seemed to be going on well, so, I kept on working with clients. But along the way, through the months, things started getting a bit slow. I noticed that I wasn't getting clients and contacts as frequently as before.

I remember during that period, I started registering for quite a lot of courses, trainings, and I also bought a lot of books that time. I felt doing that will help me become better and yield much results. But to an extent, I was wrong.

Today in 2023, looking back at my experience in 2022, I can say that indeed, I missed it somewhere. I was going for a lot of Knowledge but I wasn't Implementing them fully. For instance, I concentrated in buying courses, paying for Master classes, reading books, etc. and I didn't fully implement what I learnt from them. I didn't strike a balance in my quest for knowledge, so I was WEALTHY in Mind/SPIRIT but broke in RESULTS Physically.

This is what I'll do if I'm given the chance to go back to Last year, 2022.

I will strike a Balance between KNOWLEDGE and IMPLEMENTATION.

Today, I've grown to realize that the RESULTS we seek will in most cases come when we IMPLEMENT the knowledge we HAVE. So in other words, I won't only buy books or pay for trainings to gain knowledge. Rather, I'll also IMPLEMENT the knowledge I gain.

After attending a training on Wealth, I will work towards applying what I learnt there.

After reading a book on RELATIONSHIPS, I'll do my best to implement the things I learnt there.

What I'm saying is, I won't only give my attention to knowledge but I'll apply/implement the knowledge I acquire.

One advice I'll give to you listening to me today is this:

For you to see tangible results in every aspects of your life, you need to seek Knowledge from the right people, materials, resources, etc. After seeking the KNOWLEDGE, IMPLEMENT it.

I'll end with this quote again:

"The results we seek will only come when we implement the knowledge we have".

Thank you all for listening today.

I'm grateful to the entire them at Golden Rubbish 2023 for granting me the opportunity to speak today.

Once again, my name is Calvin Antonza.

Topic: THE ONLY THING STANDING BETWEEN YOU AND YOUR NEXT LEVEL

Guest Kwayine Pwakusari Ezra

Hello everyone, I am so excited to be here this beautiful time of the day. My name is Kwayine Pwakusari Ezra, here in Yola, Adamawa state. I'll be sharing a story with you and at the end, we will draw our gold from the experience.

Now, on this day, I had waited patiently for my friend to call. It had been 3days already since we last spoke and today happened to be day 4. I began to wonder why he had not called and how he didn't think or consider it necessary to call me. So, I picked my phone and dialed his number and it connected immediately. As soon as I heard "Hello", I just went "like seriously, you didn't think to call or even send a text? It's been what, 3days, no, 4days actually and your mind no shake, you even had confidence to pick my call, seriously??" Then the voice on the other end said "sorry, the owner of this phone has been on admission in the hospital for some days now. He was brought unconscious but is much better. He is resting and I'll let him know you called when he wakes up". I just went silent. Ah! As in, what just happened here? How did I just carelessly do this?

Unfortunately, a lot of us belong here. We have relegated communication to be one sided. We have decided that in our relationships, the duty of calling and texting is for one person while the other person just receives the call or text. Many of us have scattered our relationships because of this lack of understanding in communication. Now, by relationship, I mean with friends, family, schoolmates, your social circle or even colleagues at work. We have decided that if they do not call, we will also not reach out to them, we have forgotten that communication is not a one man job. If only we can prioritize our relationships and take the responsibility of reaching out to one another. The truth is that a lot of things will actually get better so long as our communication gets better.

So, in this 2023, I urge us all to be responsible in our communication. Reach out to people, talk freely and be a listener too so that our relationships will be sweeter and stress-free. Remember, the only thing standing between you and your next level is hidden in the relationships you are able to maintain.

Thank you....

Guest Mr. Semaj James

Finding Out Before Jumping In

Honestly I never thought I had done awful things until I have to write this. For the year 2022 one of the awful thing or the rubbish I did was

I took on a job without clear job descriptions because I was intoxicated by the wine of desperation.

Due to this mistake, I worked 8:00 AM to approximately 10:00 pm and approximately 7 days a week.

It was sad and silly but I can't blame my employer because I said I DO even before he proposed.

My advice to you all out there is to always discuss the terms and conditions for every job before you attach your signature and do not allow sentiments cloud your judgment.

If you aren't okay with your employer's T&C that’s your terms and condition please say so.

Do not manage your job. Your job is also a part of your life, some people assume that I will just work for a particular year, when I’m done with this job I will start living my life come on don’t do that your job is part of your life while you’re working you’re living because you don’t have extra years for work and separate years for living. Having a job that takes you away from life isn't really worth it.

I know the pay can be blinding but I can assure you that no matter how blinding the pay may be, you will regret it later on.

Lastly, it's a great blessing to love your job.

Benjamin Nathaniel (Host)

Taking advantage of peoples Experiences

There are two kinds of learning: experience, which is gained from your own mistakes, and wisdom, which is learned from the mistakes of others (Others experiences).

John C. Maxwell

Listening to others is an essential part of communication, but it is often overlooked in favor of speaking or giving our own opinions. However, the act of truly listening to someone can have a profound impact on our relationships and our understanding of the world.

One of the main benefits of listening to others is that it allows us to gain new perspectives and understanding. By paying attention to someone else's thoughts and experiences, we can learn about different viewpoints and ways of looking at the world, which will in turn facilitate our speedy growth as an individual. This can help us to be more open-minded and to see things from a different angle.

Of course, being a good listener is not always easy. It requires focus and attention, and it can be tempting to interrupt or to try to solve someone's problems instead of simply listening. However, with practice and intentionality, we can all improve our listening skills and become better at truly hearing others.

Changing your Learning curve

The learning curve is a graphical representation of your ability to learn, which is usually measured against time (experience). The general learning curve rises gradually over time until it reaches a saturation point, after which it falls slightly.

This is because you have learned enough about the subject and do not wish to learn any more. However, if you speed up your learning process which is also known as the accelerated learning curve, you will reach the saturation point faster because you will learn more in less time.

The traditional learning curve works by increasing learning with experience. But that is no longer the case, both in the workplace and in your personal life. To differentiate yourself from the crowd, you must adopt an accelerated learning curve. You learn more in a shorter period of time here, which means that even though your experience is less, your knowledge is greater.

Finally, experiences keep happening, but only those who want to learn and develop will benefit from hearing about other people's experiences. We can't live to learn from all of our mistakes, but we can live to learn from the experiences of others. God bless you and have a blessed day.

WeInspire Podcast is proud to present to you golden rubbish 2023…

We in WeInspire Podcast (Golden Rubbish), believe that every piece of trash teaches us a lesson. When the lessons learned are used, this "rubbish" becomes "Golden Rubbish".

Golden Rubbish

Transforming lives crazy experiences into valuable tools

Today is a special day for me because it is my birthday, and what a great way to kick off this year's podcast, and I'd like to thank all of our guests who have contributed.

We have our guest already in the house, Mr. Riffz, and he is coming to give us the theme song for the year. What a wonderful way to start up the podcast show! Today we will be listening to the theme song, and tomorrow we will have an introduction, and then next we will begin to feature our guests one by one by one.

So quickly, I would like to read from the lyrics, and then I will allow our guest to jump into what he has for us. So the lyrics say:

I make mistakes sometimes, and I won't deny

I've got all it takes to fight. I'm a golden child.

Nobody is perfect; we all make mistakes.

So excuse me if I don't care about what you think of me.

Because God said its finish, that's why am bold.

So when they call it Rubbish, I call it Gold.

That’s the part I love the most, so when they call it Rubbish, I call it gold.

When people call what I've been through Rubbish, I call it Gold.

When they say things about my past experience, I call it "gold," because these are currencies I use to acquire the knowledge I have to fight better.

Verse

I make mistakes sometimes, I won't deny

I've got all it takes to fight am a golden child

Nobody is perfect, we all make mistakes

So excuse me if I don't care about what you think of me

Chorus

Because God said its finish, that's why am bold

So when they call it rubbish, I call it Gold

Because God said its finish, that's why am bold

So when they call it rubbish, I call it Gold

What Is Gratitude?

Gratitude is one of many positive emotions. It's about focusing on what's good in our lives and being thankful for the things we have.

Gratitude is pausing to notice and appreciate the things that we often take for granted, like having a place to live, food, clean water, friends, family, even computer access. It's taking a moment to reflect on how fortunate we are when something good happens — whether it's a small thing or a big thing.

We can use lots of words to describe feelings of gratitude: We might say we feel thankful, lucky, fortunate, humbled, or blessed.

Why Gratitude Matters

Creating a propensity for appreciation can likewise be great as far as we're concerned. Like other good feelings, feeling thankful consistently can hugely affect our lives.

Research shows that positive feelings are really great for our bodies, psyches, and cerebrums.

  • Positive feelings free us up to additional potential outcomes. They support our capacity to learn and use sound judgment.
  • Positive feelings balance out pessimistic feelings. Individuals who frequently feel thankful and grateful are more joyful, less focused, and less discouraged. Appreciation resembles a U-turn on whining or contemplating what we don't have.
  • Positive emotions balance out negative emotions. People who often feel grateful and appreciative are happier, less stressed, and less depressed. Gratitude is like a U-turn on complaining or thinking about what we don't have.
  • One positive emotion often leads to another. When we feel grateful, we might also feel happy, calm, joyful, or loving.
  • Gratitude can lead to positive actions. When we feel grateful for someone's kindness toward us, we may be more likely to do a kindness in return. Your gratitude also can have a positive effect on someone else's actions. Thanking people can make it more likely they'll do a kindness again.
  • Gratitude assists us with building better connections. When we feel and express heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to people in our lives, it creates loving bonds, builds trust, and helps you feel closer.

When we make it a habit to feel grateful, it makes us more aware of good things as they happen.

Build a Gratitude Habit

Sometimes, feelings of gratitude happen spontaneously. But we also can create feelings of gratitude by deliberately counting our blessings.

You can build a habit of counting blessings just by paying attention each day to things you're glad to have in your life. Slow down and notice what's around you. For example: "Wow, the sky is beautiful today! What an incredible world we live in," or, "There's Chenemi! It was so nice of her to help me yesterday."

Noticing the things you're grateful for is just the first step in building a gratitude habit, but you can try other things too, like taking the time to thank people or pausing to appreciate a star-filled sky. Start now. What's good about today?

Thanks for being part of our 2022 podcasting season. We hope you had a great time and that you'll be back for more in the future.

2023 podcasting season will start with our annual event Tagged Golden Rubbish, looking forward to your full participation in our coming event.

PART TWO

5) Continue to get things done.

The more successful you become, the more things come at you from all directions. You'll want to spend less time on tasks that don't matter as much and more time on the ones that do, so be sure to keep an eye on what's going on around you and make adjustments accordingly.

6) Failure is not the opposite of success, it is a part of success.

It's important to remember that, because there are so many people out there who are afraid of failure and feel like they need to succeed right away in order to be successful. But when you look at the real world, what is actually happening? People who fail don't stay down for very long! They get back up and try again until they find something that works for them.

So don't expect failure to stop you from doing great things—it might just help you get there faster.

Failure is a part of life and we must learn to embrace failure as a way to improve ourselves and our lives. Failure is not something to be avoided in our quest for success, but rather something that can help us become better people and better at what we do.

If you fail, don't worry about it… focus on what you did right, learn from your mistakes and move on!

7) Find your power song or soundtrack.

This one can be difficult when life hands you lemons… but there are ways to turn those lemons into lemonade! Find something that motivates you and gets you excited about your life. It can be anything—a song, a quote, an image… something that makes you feel motivated and excited about what you're doing. It's important to have some kind of personal theme when working towards personal goals because it helps keep your mind focused on the task at hand instead of getting distracted by other ideas or concerns (which can happen if we aren't careful).

8) Remember your why (and keep it close).

A successful person has a good reason for wanting something—they know why they want it and why they're going after it. And those same reasons should be guiding you through your process too: the feeling

Your why may change over time… but it should never change completely. Remember why you started this journey in the first place: to make money, find love or just have fun doing what makes you happy! The reason will always stay with

Finally

If you want to finish strong, better than you started and with a positive attitude, then it's important that you stop worrying about what others think.

It's easy to let other people's opinions of your work influence what you do, and how much time and effort you put into it. But the truth is that no one can tell you how hard or easy it is for you to complete a task—that's up to YOU.

So why not stop caring about what others think? Instead, focus on encouragement from yourself. Remind yourself every day of your worth as an individual, and remind yourself of all the reasons why you're doing this project in the first place.

Every single day, remind yourself of this fact. You are not a quitter—you are a winner! You have the ability to do anything you set your mind to, so take advantage of that power and make the most of your life by completing tasks with excellence and never giving up on yourself.

You can finish strong if you want—and if you're willing to give it your best effort.

How to Finish Strong and Better Than You Started

You can finish strong and better than you started if you are willing to give it your best effort.

All of us, at some point in our lives, wonder what it would be like if we had more time. We think about how much we want to accomplish, but we just don't have enough hours in the day. As a result, we feel like we're spinning our wheels and never really getting anywhere.

No matter what stage of life you're at, there will always be things that make you feel like a failure, but don't let that stop you from achieving success. If anything, failure is just another step in the process of learning and growing as a person.

But there is another way! You can finish strong and better than you started if you are willing to give it your best effort. Here are some tips that will help:

1) It’s never too late to start over.

When you're starting out, it's easy to get discouraged. You'll have a few successes and then a few failures. You will make mistakes, and those mistakes will hurt your confidence and your motivation. But don't give up! Start now, you never can tell what awaits you ahead.

2) Take a leap of faith.

Don't let fear stop you from doing something that scares you or seems impossible. If you think something is too hard for you because it will take too much time or energy, break it down into smaller task, then attack it task by task!

You've worked hard to get where you are now, so why not go for the big dream? It may be unrealistic at first, but with time and effort, anything is possible.

3) Learn to maximize what you have.

How many people do we know who aren't making the most of their time? Instead of wasting time on tasks they could get done faster and more efficiently (like cleaning the kitchen), they sit around waiting for inspiration or motivation to strike them down so they can do something else.

You might look like you don’t have all it takes to start, but when you look deeply inward you will realize that you have all it takes to kick start.

This doesn't mean that all your business ideas should be thrown on paper immediately—but it does mean thinking about them in detail before diving into the next project.

4) Everyone starts somewhere.

It doesn't matter where you are in life, or how much success or failure you've had—everyone has a journey.

Everyone starts somewhere.

What does that mean? It means that no matter how much you have accomplished in your life, there will always be more for you to do. You can't rest on your laurels or stop trying because of what you have done.

So why do people give up? Well, sometimes it's because they are afraid of failure. If you fail at something, people might think less of you and stop trusting you. It's important to remember that everyone makes mistakes! The key is to learn from them and move forward.

So how do we avoid letting failure hold us back? One way is by continuing to get things done! Even when something doesn't work out exactly as planned, there is always another opportunity waiting around the corner with different possibilities and potential outcomes that could lead to success or failure. The key is persistence—never give up on anything until there's nothing left but dust in your hand!

To be Continued in the next episode....

The Power of Listening

How well do you listen to the people around you? Listening can be challenging, especially these days, but the power of listening is so important.

When we listen, it allows us to better understand ourselves and other people too.

However, with all of the distractions around us and within our own heads, it’s incredible that we ever hear anything that anyone says at all.

By listening, we can become better leaders and learners.

The Power of Listening and All of its Benefits

Listening is not only the most essential aspect of communication – it can make or break our relationships.

Listening has a significant effect on our ability to appreciate, respond to, and empower others.

Here are some of the benefits of listening:

Listening helps foster relationships

When someone knows that you are truly listening, it can help improve your relationship with them.

Showing that you care by listening can go a long way in helping foster relationships...

The Three Levels of Listening

By understanding these three levels of listening, it can show us what to do to become more effective in our ability to listen to others.

1. Be Present

2. Form an Emotional Connection

3. Listen in an Empowering Way

The Power of Listening Requires Us to do the Internal Work

When we’re able to do the internal work it takes to become better listeners, we can enhance our relationships in a profound way.

Being someone who can listen to others is such a vital skill, especially these days.

It’s not always easy. It takes some practice and humility and is an ongoing, moment-by-moment phenomenon.

Introduction

There are lots of things in life that make us happy, but sometimes, we just need to say goodbye to them. Whether it's a job (no matter how satisfying), an old friend, or even an old pet, when we've come to terms with the reality that they won't be around forever, we can move on and let go. Learning how to say goodbye helps us do that.

Saying goodbye is hard. In fact, it's one of the hardest things we can do in life. It takes practice and time to be able to say goodbye, but eventually you will get pretty good at it…if not for yourself then for others. Once you've learned how to say goodbye properly, you might want to give your friends and loved ones some advice on how they should say goodbye as well so they can avoid making the same mistakes we all make when saying goodbye.

6 tips to learning how to say Goodbye

Tip 1: Stop trying to figure it out

The first step to learning how to say goodbye is to stop trying. Stop trying to figure it out or make sense of it. The harder you try, the more confusing it becomes.

This is especially true in relationships. We want to see if our partner likes us or not, if they are interested in us or not, and if they are worth our time. We want to know whether we should continue with them or not...

Tip 2: Accept it

You may have heard the saying, “It’s not what you do, it’s how you do it.” Well, this is true in all aspects of life. When we say goodbye to someone, how we say goodbye shows a lot about how we feel about them and our feelings for them.

We all know how difficult it is to say goodbye, but being able to find the words and make that phone call can be just as difficult as saying goodbye in person. Here are some tips that will help take responsibility (accept it) when saying goodbye...

It may seem impossible now, but someday you will look back at this moment and be glad you said goodbye when you did.

Tip 3: You will never be the same

When you say goodbye to a person, it's easy to imagine that they'll be sorry to see you go. You can imagine that they'll miss you and want to see you again.

But that's not what happens...

Tip 4: Feel the feelings, however hard they are.

The hardest part about saying goodbye is actually feeling it. You can't just tell someone you love them, you have to feel the feelings, however hard they are. If you mean it and you want to go through with it, then go for it. If not, don't do it...

Tip 5: Don't rush yourself.

Don't rush yourself, it's not a race. Don't rush yourself, and you'll be OK.

The sooner you can get through this part of your life, the better off you'll be...

Tip 6: Turn toward the future.

The hardest part of saying goodbye is letting go of the past. It’s hard to let go, because the past was the best time of your life. You were happy, and you had a lot to be happy about. But you can’t stay in the past forever...

Takeaway for this week:

Be honest with yourself about why you are making this decision, and don't allow yourself to feel guilty about leaving. If you do feel guilty, let go of those feelings by reminding yourself of the possibilities that lies ahead.

Saying goodbye can be hard, but you're not alone in the work of healing. The key is to have no regrets in the end.

How to deal with being tired at work

You can be tired at work, and under a lot of pressure. Your boss has been looking to you for some time to solve a critical problem on the deadline for the next coming project. You feel that you are about to fall apart and start crying. It's all because of being tired at work. So, what do you do? Well, I will tell you about dealing with being tired at work:

Tiredness at work is a major issue that affects people of all ages and nationalities. There are many reasons behind people feeling tired at work and some of them are, age, health and family issues. Tiredness at work can affect your work performance and cause job losses. However, there are ways that alleviates the feeling of exhaustion though we might find it difficult to follow them due to various factors but Here are some tips for managing your fatigue:

  1. Look for ways to increase your energy level. A 20-minute walk after dinner can help combat fatigue. Exercise also helps you feel alert in the morning and keeps your body from going into “sleep mode” later in the day, when you might otherwise give in to temptation for a nap or afternoon nap.

  2. Eat a healthy diet rich in protein, vitamins, and minerals — which will help maintain your energy levels throughout the day. To be better mentally and physically we have to be intentional about our diet, what goes into our body has a way of affecting our productivity. Eating wisely might look like a punishment today but you will be glad you did.

  3. Try not to take on too many tasks at once if possible — this will make it harder for you to stay focused on what needs to get done. Instead, break up large projects into smaller ones that can be completed throughout the day so they don’t take over your schedule completely. Trying to complete a project in its entirety, will weigh you down but breaking them down into daily task will save you from that stress.

  4. Create a list of things that need to get done each day and then prioritize them according to importance (i.e., which task is most important). This way, you won’t forget anything that needs completing. When you fail to schedule task based on their importance it also has a way of causing you stress, that is trying to complete a larger task in a short while because of your failure to scheduling them on a scale of preference.

Finally, stop the excuses and start to take your health seriously. It's easy to ignore your body's signals, but being tired at work is often a sign of something more serious, such as high blood pressure, heart disease or anemia. Are you getting enough rest at night? How many hours’ sleep did you get last night? What kind of foods are you eating? Did you exercise today?

If you want to be productive, then it's important to take care of yourself. Ensuring your health is at its best will ensure that you have the energy needed to work at your best.

Conformity

Introduction

Conformity is something that most of us have experienced at some point in our life. When we are young we are told how to act, dress, and eat. We are taught that if you are different from the crowd then it is wrong. We are told that if you don't fit in then you will be teased, bullied and possibly even beaten up.

While this advice may seem obvious now, many of us still struggle with conformity even as adults. We have been conditioned by society to believe that being different isn't good enough. Conformity is not the opposite of personal expression. It's an act of submission to the opinions of others.

Understanding what conformity is, why it exists and why it's harmful is critical to braking free from wrong societal norms. Conformity has always been with us, and it's always been a bad thing.

Break Free

We live in a world where everyone wants to be like someone famous or have their name on something popular. The desire for popularity is so strong that people will do anything to become famous and gain recognition from others around them. Some people even get so caught up in trying to fit in with everyone else around them that they will destroy themselves just to make sure they don't stand out as an individual.

Conformity is not only bad for society but also for our personal lives too! Conformity can cause stress and anxiety when we feel like we don't fit in with others around us which causes us to believe that we aren't good enough or worthy of happiness or success in life.

Conformity is a form of social influence that occurs when people accept the behaviour and beliefs of others in the presence of social pressure.

Conformity can often be subconscious or unintentional, but it is also induced by explicit communication from others. Conformity is particularly strong among groups, where individuals are more likely to conform to what they feel are the norms of their group.

Conclusion

The true cost of conforming to the norm is not just having to abide by societal rules and standards, but also missing out on pursuing the life you want to live. It's easier to fit in with everyone else, to be what others expect you to be – but in doing so, you miss out on becoming the person you were meant to be. The saying 'be yourself' really rings true in this regard as well. You were not put on this earth just to fit in with everything else that's already here. You have your own ideas, your own dreams and aspirations for your life. Allowing outsiders to shape and control the core of who you are takes away the opportunity for personal growth. Instead of conforming to those things that are expected from you, choose instead to create a positive future for yourself. So go ahead – break the mold and be who you want to be!

Questions that Matters

In this world, we see so much animosity, hate and division. We're unable to stand together as one when we should be able to. I've found through my journey towards self-discovery that being an authentic person is a lot more important than living someone else's agenda. With this being said, it is important for me to share my attitude and mindset with you, the reader.

When I look back at where I was six years ago, it's an incredibly different journey than it is to walk alongside you now. It has been both the best and the worst thing to happen in my life. From being the type of person who was afraid of failure and had no idea how to deal with things that didn't go "according" to plan, to realizing how much bigger your role in life can be than you might assume.

You are always changing, growing, learning and discovering. You are on a path of self-discovery and you should never stop, for this is what life is all about...

Question 1: Who am I?

  • Who am I?
  • What makes me tick?
  • How do I see the world and my place in it?
  • Do I live my life for myself, for others or for both?
  • Am I happy with who I am and what I do?

I have been asked this question so many times and sometimes these questions we often find ourselves asking as we get older. They can feel so elusive, but they have a way of creeping up on you when you least expect it.

When I was young I used to say that I am an optimist who believes in the future. This is not entirely true, because even though I do believe in the future I also have a strong desire to live in the present moment, not just exist but to actually be alive...

Question 2: Where do I want to go in life?

Because there seem to be so many options, it's normal to have no idea where you will end up in life. Now that you're on the path to one of those options, it's natural to still have doubts and feel uncertain about your decision. But I want you to remember something: if you made this choice, it means that this is what you wanted for yourself—not what someone else wanted for you, not what you thought would impress people, or not what would make others happy...

Question 3: What to expect from life?

To live means to constantly expect. You're expected to behave in a certain way and you're expected to achieve in a certain field. With all expectations, you will feel pressure and stress that can lead to friction with those around you and even with yourself. Don't expect yourself to be perfect, the world would not get along without mistakes! Learn from them instead of putting yourself down when they happen.

Question 4: Where does this attitude come from?

We live in a culture that not only values but demands instant gratification—and it is a problem. We look less and less to embody the virtues of patience, hard work, and persistence. In our age of swift and easy victories, we don't realize that nothing amazing was ever accomplished in the short term. At times it can be difficult to see how our snarky comments affect others, or how much we rely on people's efforts to make ourselves look good...

Finally, while change can be difficult and uncomfortable, it can also be beneficial. You never know what you're going to get out of it, but the only way to find out is to try. Change is inevitable, and it can come from anywhere at any time. So don't allow fear to stop you from doing and experiencing everything that life has to offer. Just be sure you can handle what comes your way and don't let any fears hold you back from taking a chance—you might end up glad that you did...

The Skills To Learn Before Tomorrow Comes

My name is Calvin Antonza. I am a web/graphic designer. I specialize in helping brands and businesses grow their visibility online.

Firstly, I want to thank my big brother, the person of Mr. Benjamin Nathaniel for the platform to speak today.

Today I'll be speaking about The Skills to Learn before Tomorrow comes. But before we get started, what do I mean by skills?

The term skill means the ability to perform an action with a determined result in a given amount of time. It is the ability to do something proficiently in any given amount of time.

For example, a carpenter is skilled in carpentry, medical students spend many years in school to become skilled in their fields, athletes practice consistently in other to master their craft.

There are many skills a person can learn today but I'll categories them into Hard skills and Soft Skills.

Today, when we talk about "Learning a skill", some people turn off their minds. They fail to understand that having a skill is to their own advantage.

So what are Hard skills?

Hard skills are teachable abilities or skill sets that are required for a particular occupation.

  • For instance, a Graphic Designer needs to having a working knowledge of Photoshop and CorelDRAW.
  • a website designer need to have knowledge in HTML, CSS, WORDPRESS, and SHOPIFY.
  • an account will need hard skills relating to bookkeeping.

Today, there are a lot of Hardskills one can learn. We have Coding, UI/UX, Graphic Design, Facebook Ads, Baking, Fashion Design, Shoe making, Accounting, etc.

Hardskills are typically acquired through formal education, training, online education, certification programs and so on.

Top Hard skills to learn are:

  • Writing Skills
  • Technical skills: it includes specialize knowledge and expertise in fields as IT, ENGINEERING or Science.
  • Computer skills: this includes knowledge in MSword, Excel, Google, and typing.
  • Analytics skills: this are skills required for gathering data, analyzing it and also presenting it.

Coming to Soft skill:

Softskills are interpersonal skills that characterize a person's relationship with other people.

Softskills are the good manners required to socialize well with others and build positive relationships.

Unlike hard skills that are job specific, softskills are broadly applicable across Job titles and industries.

Top 5 softskills you need today are:

  • leadership skills
  • interpersonal skills
  • communication skills
  • Team work problem solving skills.

Both Hardskills and Soft Skills are important. Infact, Hardskills most times will get you the interview but softskills will get and keep you the job.

Having said these, what are the skills you can learn before tomorrow comes?

I'll call them High Income Skills.

So what are High Income Skills: These are skills that could want you over 6 figures every year even if you don't have a college degree. These are skills in high demand.

Whether you want to be financially free, earn as a student or spend more time with your family, having high income skills could help you achieve that. So, How can you develop High Income skills?

One way to do so is by learn from platforms online like:

  • Udemy.com
  • YouTube.com
  • LinkedIn Learn
  • Skillshare.com
  • coursera.org

You can watch hours of free content from people who are giving in their best on YouTube...

This is the story of how I killed my comfort zones, moved out of home and lived with complete strangers. It's about finding balance. People always ask me how I do so much with so little and keep it all together. This podcast/blog was my way of saying: "I don't know". I'm sure people will find this interesting and may even learn something from it.What makes this podcast different from others on the subject?I don't claim to be a professional writer or speaker but I tried very hard to make you feel like you are right there with me as I travel, write and build my life. How do we learn to bend ourselves toward progress? -- not perfection. We have to keep changing, keep growing and improving on what we have accomplished. The most comfortable part of me is my past, but it's no longer my past. It's my bedrock that I use to build future initiatives. It gives me courage, strength and power. One of the biggest challenges in our everyday lives is trying to live a better life. We all want to be as successful and happy as possible, but we're just not sure how to do it. This podcast/blog will show you how these principles can change your life for the better by surrounding yourself with people who truly care about helping you reach your goals. Section 1: Perfection is the enemy of progress. The idea that perfection is the enemy of progress is one of the most common objections to the use of scientific methods. The idea is that if we can't be perfect, then we can't make any progress at all. This objection seems to me quite wrong. The problem with perfectionism is not that it produces no results but rather that it produces the wrong results. Perfectionism means working too hard and trying too hard, which is a waste of time and energy in itself. But more important than this, it leads to an attitude in which you're afraid of making mistakes or doing anything new because you don't want to look bad or embarrass yourself. In other words, you end up being stubborn, and stubborn people don't get very far in life. They may think they're successful because their work looks good on paper or because they got their work published somewhere or won some award or prize at some point in their lives, but this doesn't mean they're actually successful.Section 2: Progress not perfection is simply a part of success. There is a common misconception that perfectionism is associated with high levels of performance. This is not the case. Being overly concerned with the details and making sure everything is perfect can be detrimental in terms of productivity and efficiency. When we think of success, we often think about achieving a goal and hitting it dead center. The problem with this mindset is that it's too close to perfectionism and can lead to burnout. When you're striving for perfection, you think about every detail and every step. You become obsessed with the details and lose sight of the overall picture. You get stressed out because you don't feel like you're making progress towards your goal. And then things start to go off track because you've stopped paying attention to the big picture you've lost sight of what really matters, which is getting closer to that goal line instead of obsessing over every little thing along the way. When you get obsessed with perfectionism, you can never relax enough to make progress towards your goals. You'll always be thinking about how far away from perfection you are (or how close), making sure that no mistakes were made along the way, and worrying about whether or not this next step will get us any closer than before. This kind of thinking feels like a constant grind one that never ends and it's exhausting!Section 3: We have so much to gain by replacing our perfection with progress. Progress is the only thing that matters. The world is moving forward, and we need to move with it.Progress is what you want in your life. It's what makes you happy, and it's what allows you to feel fulfilled...

KINDNESS

Kindness is one of the greatest gifts we can ever give to others, and it's one of my favorite things. It's so easy to be unkind, but it's hard to be kind. So, sometimes I like to top off conversations with someone who has made me feel bad or had hurtful words said towards me by actually showing them some kindness by thanking them and then following it up with something nice they said or did that day.The act of kindness is a truly selfless act. It's an action that benefits another person, and more often than not, the person being "kind" isn't even aware of it. With so many people living in the moment, sharing pictures of what they ate for dinner the other night, and checking their Facebook status updates, it can be easy to forget that there are others who are less fortunate than you.

Two Important facts about kindness

2. Every act of kindness starts a chain reaction.

How can we possibly not be moved by the story of a little boy who bought his mother flowers and told her he loves her?

How can we not be moved by a person who has lost everything but still manages to find it in themselves to help others?

It's because we know that acts of kindness are not just about the person receiving the kindness. It's about the person giving the kindness. It's about the ripple effect that can happen when one act of kindness is given to another.

A friend recently shared a story of when she was in high school and had been struggling with depression for years. She felt like her life was over, but then someone gave her a hug and told her they loved her. The next day, she received a huge bouquet of flowers from her best friend with a note attached saying how much she meant to them and how happy they were that she was alive. That one act of kindness gave her hope and renewed faith in humanity while simultaneously helping her cope with her own struggles with mental illness.

It's easy for us humans to take things for granted; especially when it comes down to people just doing what they think is expected of them or what they think will make them look good in front of others.

2. Kindness means understanding and accepting others.

Kindness, understanding, and accepting others are the three pillars of the Golden Rule. When we treat others with kindness, they will reciprocate by treating us with kindness in return. This is how our society is built on.

But what happens when you have a hard time accepting people's differences?

What if someone makes a mistake or does something wrong?

It can be really hard to accept this person as part of your life.

Conclusion

Whether we like it or not, the little random acts of kindness we do or observe have a way of adding up over time. The award for the world's kindest person may forever go unclaimed, but I'm fairly certain that kindness isn't the domain only of those with overflowing reserves of goodwill. In today's busy world, we can all use a little kindness. So go out into the world, do your best to be kind and make every day count.

Least I forget, I am so glad you made it to this New Month. Do have a blessed Month and week

Understanding your Competitors

Competition is everywhere. And while there are many ways to look at competition, perhaps the most well-known is by market share and revenue growth. But that's only part of the picture; there are other factors to consider too, such as customer loyalty, buyer personas, and how your product's success or failure is dictated by societal factors (e.g., climate change). Furthermore, it's important to understand the competition within your industry.

Understanding the competition in your industry is the key factor that will determine your success or failure. Knowing your competition can not only help you to survive, but also give you an edge over them to make a profit. However, in order to do this, you need information about how good or bad others are at what they do. Today, our guest will give us tips and strategies on how to use competition as a tool for creating value for your company.

Hello, everybody. My name is Stanley Xerzes Innocent. I am a workplace productivity trainer, speaker, and author. I am excited to be joining my friend and brother Benthaniel (Benjamin Nathaniel) today on his podcast, and in the next few minutes I would be discussing something I consider very important for everyone and anyone who is into business, whether you are in the formal sector or informal sector. By that, I mean whether you are in the cooperate worker or you run a business.

Now, we are going to be talking about understanding the competition in your industry (understanding the competition in your industry) and we will be saying things in the simplest of forms because I want you to learn and apply it in your everyday dealings. So, the other day I was speaking to someone and I asked him, who are your competitions or who are your competitors? And he looked at me and responded, "I have no competitors." Well, competitions, well I could understand where he was coming from because I know he must have listened to lots of speakers telling you that the only competitor you should have is yourself and I think it is a good teaching were they ask you not to compare yourself with any other person. You just compare yourself with your past or with your present and see how you can be better, but his response was not ideal for what we were talking about because we were talking about his business and how he could advance and make progress.

I want you to understand that no matter what industry you are in or what business you are running, there will always be competition. There will be people running and doing the same kind of business as you, offering the same kind of product or offering the same kind of services. The question is;

Do you want to stay ahead of your competitors?

Do you want to stay ahead of the competition that exists in your market?

Now, making advancement in your business, or making advancement in whatever company you are running, doesn’t just happen like that. It is beyond saying I have a beautiful office or I rented a shop down the street now. I have been praying to God to grant me success, grant me business increase no. You must understand how the business works, and one way of understanding this is by taking a good look at how your competitors operate.

So these are the things I want you to do. I’m beginning to round up now. I want you to ask yourself these questions and has you ask yourself these questions, it will be very good for you to write down the answers and it is important for you to write down your answers because answering these questions mentally wouldn’t really position you for action, but study has shown and proven that there is a deep connection between your mind and the things that you write down...

How to Focus On Work Amidst Phone and Laptop Distraction

When you have a phone/laptop during working hours, it is easy to get distracted. You don't even realize how much time you spend searching, scrolling or browsing the Internet on your phone/laptop. The good news is that you can use these devices to your advantage when working and focus better on work. To help you control your attention and productivity, below are some tips that will help you improve your focus!

Put down your phone.

It is easy to get sidetracked by your phone. I know that I do it all the time, and I don't even realize how much time is wasted on my phone. When you use your phone as a distraction, you are not working. You are not focused on the task at hand, and that leads to poor quality of work. The same goes for the laptop. A laptop can be just as distracting, especially when you are trying to work and notifications begins to pop-up.

The best way to avoid being distracted by your phone/laptop is to shut them off when you cannot focus on the task at hand. If you find yourself checking Facebook while you are supposed to be working on something important, then take a break! Don't get caught up in the dopamine rush of checking your social media accounts every few minutes or so throughout the day; instead, take a break put your phone down.

Turn off notifications.

The most common distractions are notifications from text messages, social media and email.

Turn off alerts for all but the most important calls and texts. Turn off push notifications for all apps except those you use every day. If you're using a computer, use an extension that lets you silence specific programs (like Chrome or Outlook) or turn off the sound altogether with a keyboard shortcut.

Take advantage of airplane mode/phone off button/ silent mode

When it comes to work, there are many distractions that can take you off your game. Whether it's on the phone or the computer, we've all been there. But that doesn't mean you should give up.

The best way to combat distractions is to make sure you're focused on what's important. Being on your phone as much as possible is a bad idea. It's a great way to get distracted, and it's also a great way to waste time. If you want to be productive, keep your phone in the car or on silent or on airplane mode or put it off, it is better to have something doing than be laid off because of distractions caused by phone/laptop bringing about low productivity.

Remind yourself why you are there.

The first step to getting rid of distractions is to understand the why behind every task/project that is assign to you. You will be able to stay focused when your why is known.

What is it that you want?

What is it that you need?

What is it that will help you achieve success and happiness?

These are important questions that will make you stay focus amidst plenty of distractions.

Conclusion

It's easy to get distracted by the stuff you don't need; here is a simple step you can take to get your distractions under control.

Focus on work: The first step to getting organized is to make sure you're working on your work instead of other things on your mind. That means putting away anything that will serve as distraction, so you can focus solely on what needs to be done at that moment in time.

Your phone/Laptop can wait but you Job/business can’t wait. Let it not be said of you that things you supposed to have control over have in turn begin to control you.

Do have a blessed day.

The Ultimate Guide to Overcoming Work Place Distractions (Part 2)

Continuation from the previous podcast...

Rule #3: Accept Responsibility for Yourself and Block Out Unproductive People One of the best ways to manage your time at work is to take control of your own productivity. You can't blame someone else for not being productive, or for distracting you from your work.

So how do you block out people who are distracting you? Here are some tips:

  1. Accept responsibility for yourself and block out unproductive people.

  2. Make sure your workspace is the right size for you.

  3. Make sure that everything in your workspace has a purpose.

4. Block out any noise coming from other offices or cubicles that are near yours, especially if it's constant or loud enough to distract you from what you're doing.

Rule #4. Create Separate Workspace When Necessary The workspace is a vital part of your working environment, and it is important that you have the right tools to help you achieve your goals.

The most common mistake people make when creating a workspace is not separating their workspace from the rest of the office. You should have a separate area where you can work on any project or task that you need to complete without being disturbed by other employees in the office.

Rule #5. Be Aware of Your Inner Impulses and React Wisely

It is important to keep a balance in life. You can't live life just to work and earn money. You need to have a balance between work and other things like family, friends, community etc. Below are two keys to take note of:

1. Workplace awareness: The first step towards workplace awareness is to be aware of yourself. This can help you to know what you are good at and what you are not good at. It will also help you to know if there are any particular aspects that you can work on as well as what it takes for you to achieve success in your job or profession.

2. Workplace wisdom: Workplace wisdom means having a good understanding about the industry or profession that you are working in. It requires knowledge about the industry, its opportunities and its challenges too. You need to have extensive knowledge about all these aspects so that you can make wise decisions based on them.

Conclusion.

Workplace distractions are an age-old problem. They're universal and they've been around for decades. The solution is equally universal and equally easy to find. But what you may not know is that there is some technology out there that can help you solve your distractions problems, by blocking certain sites, or allowing only certain sites to be viewed during certain times. I am going to break down the best few solutions for you with no cost implications in my next podcast, and provide a way of tackling distractions without even getting up from your desk.

Distractions are the mortal enemy of any focused worker. They may come from within or without, but understanding how to overcome them is key to a productive day. Do have a blessed day.

The Ultimate Guide to Overcoming Work Place Distractions (Part 1)

WORK PLACE DISTRACTIONS can be devastating to your productivity and I'm sure we've all experienced this before. You're working on a project and suddenly you get distracted by the news or an email, or even just a coworker that needs your attention for a moment. When this happens, you stop what you're doing, think about what happened and then slowly start new task without fully completing the previous one...

Are you frustrated at work? Worried about the distractions and other factors that may be getting in the way of your productivity? It can be difficult to combat workplace distractions, but there are methods to help you get more productive. Today will discuss potential solutions to overcome work place distraction.

Rule 1: IDENTIFY THE ROOT CAUSE OF YOUR DISTRACTION

Distraction is a common problem in the workplace but it’s beyond just a work place distraction, it's a distraction to your work and your personality. It can take your focus away from what you're doing, or it can make you lose interest in what you were doing. It also makes it more difficult for people to work together effectively which means that you have to work harder as a leader just to keep everyone on task.

Identifying the root cause isn't always easy, it requires a lot of self-awareness and introspection.

Listen to yourself. Do you like what you’re doing? Are you happy with the way things are going? If not, stop doing it! Change your mind-set so that you’re only focused on what’s important for your business and not on other things that may not be as useful or important as they initially seem.

RULE 2: TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR ENVIRONMENT

The workplace is a place where you spend most of your time.

It should be an environment that motivates you, inspires you and gets you excited to get up in the morning. Your work environment plays a huge role in how productive you are at work.

To help you make the most out of your workday, we've created a list of the top 10 work distractions that kill productivity:

  1. The biggest distraction for me is social media. I know this sounds strange because it's something we're all guilty of doing but it has a serious negative impact on our productivity and time management skills. I'm not saying stop using social media altogether just remember that it can take up a lot of space in your head. You need to make sure it doesn't interfere with your work by keeping yourself unplugged from work when possible and disconnecting when it's unavoidable.
  2. The workplace environment is a place where employees can work in peace and quiet. When offices are filled with noise, it can be hard to concentrate on your job and get things done.
  3. If you want to increase your productivity and be more effective at work, you should try to get rid of as many distractions as possible.
  4. Make sure that the background music playing at work is not too loud or annoying.
  5. If someone talks loudly in the office, try not to look at them while they talk or move around.
  6. Try not to answer phone calls during meetings or when people are trying to get their attention.
  7. You are not your environment.
  8. You are a unique and amazing person, with a unique and amazing life, and a unique and amazing story to tell. The way you work is the way you work. You do not want to change who you are in order to be more productive; that's the opposite of being productive.
  9. You might think that your environment is the key to your productivity, but it's not. Your environment is simply the canvas on which you paint your masterpiece. it's like...

THE UGLY TRUTH ABOUT WORKPLACE DISTRACTIONS These days everybody talks about distractions, but they don't always realize just what a big word it is. Distraction is beyond something preventing you from giving full attention to a particular task but rather is depriving you from making progress in many ways. When it comes to work place distractions it's easy to see how these could be negative and how even seemingly little things could create a huge problem for you in your work environment. The truth is, we can't escape work place distractions, even if nobody else around us is working, the world around us is still very busy, but with self-control, or what psychologists call "operant conditioning", we can take charge of our work environment without allowing any external factor to rob us of our productive time. Below are few ugly truths about the negative effect of work place distractions… Ugly Truth 1: Workplace distractions impact your efficiency Workplace distractions have become a fact of life for many employees. From technology to social media to phones, there are so many ways people can be distracted at work that it can be difficult to stay focused. Distractions are a major reasons employees aren’t performing as they could be. In fact, distractions cost employers more money than any other factor, including health care expenses and absenteeism. Ugly Truth 2: Workplace distractions impact your reputation However, when employees are distracted during the workday, it can lead to errors and poor decisions. These distractions can affect productivity, reduce customer satisfaction and negatively impact the organization and your reputation. Ugly Truth 3: Workplace distractions are addictive Distractions are a fact of life, but most people don't realize that they have a hidden addiction. Workplace distractions are like any other addiction, you can't control them, and you may not even be aware that you have an addiction until it's too late. Workplace distractions are especially dangerous because they're often so easy to get caught up in, especially since technology has made it easier for us to be distracted than ever before. But even though work distractions feel like a natural part of life at work, they're actually very addictive, just like any other addiction or habit. Ugly Truth 4: Workplace distractions can lead to more lost time, productivity, and money. In a study conducted by the American Psychological Association (APA), it was found that nearly 60 percent of employees reported having some form of distraction at work during the past month. And these distractions were more than just simple interruptions with coworkers or interruptions by coworkers themselves; they also included mobile devices such as smartphones and laptops. In fact, the APA reported that 67 percent of employees said that their smartphones were a distraction while at work (that’s a lot!). And this number jumps up to 80 percent if you add in laptops into the mix (but keep in mind that this only includes people who have access to both). So what does this mean for companies? It means that for every lost time output is affected which will in turn affect the organizations finances. Conclusion As a podcaster and blogger I am often in contact with individuals who have difficulty staying focused on their job all day. I am just as guilty of losing track, and you should never feel bad if you are part of the millions who can't seem to stay focused at work. No matter what your profession is, no matter how much money you make, and no matter the circumstances. This is the reality for many of us, but there are ways we can overcome our distractions and be more productive so that we can serve our employer to the best of our abilities.

How to Ask Someone to Be Your Mentor

How to ask someone to be your mentor can feel daunting and uncomfortable. But having a guide as to what you are looking for and the right perspective will help you get the right mentor that will not just expand your knowledge but also grow your career.

So, where to start?

1. Make a List of Potential Mentors and How They Can Help

Purpose is everything, before you determine who you want your mentor to be, start by getting clear on a few questions about yourself. “Ask yourself, ‘What is it I’d most like to learn?’”

For example, say you want to learn how to write a book or affiliate marketing. Start by making a short list of people in your orbit who may be able to help you learn by sharing their own experience. Start from within…

2. Make Your Mentorship Ask

Many mentor/mentee relationships come about organically. But that doesn’t mean you should shy away from making a direct request. Many well experienced leaders see helping others develop as the legacy they wish to leave behind. Not everyone will be available, but you can be confident that there are many who would be motivated to support your efforts.

Here, few suggestions on how to go with it;

  • State (and share) your purpose.

In other words, you have to be able to articulate the “big why” for wanting someone’s time and attention. When you share that big why with them, they are more likely to see the potential impact and will actually experience a biochemical reinforcement known as the ‘helper’s high’.

  • Why them?

Again, your could-be mentors probably have a lot on their plate and no shortage of opportunities. Be crystal clear about why you are asking them specifically to be your mentor. This extra step will also ensure you are asking the right person for the right reason.

  • Get hyper-specific.

It’s hard for someone to make a commitment when they aren’t clear about what they are committing to. Start small, asking for an amount of time—say, a half hour meeting every month. “You want to make it easy for them to say yes. “Brené Brown says, ‘Clear is kind.’”

  • Have a plan b.

Your hoped-for mentor wants to help, but doesn’t have the bandwidth. That’s OK. Having alternate options at the ready, and making it clear that you don’t need a large time commitment—perhaps all you ask for is a brief chat to learn more about their career journey. And if your second choice says no, remember that you can learn from that, too. (Sometimes success means saying no.)

3. Beware of Common Mentorship Pitfalls

Just remember, there is a difference between mentorship and coaching, mentors help you grow by sharing knowledge or experience they gained on their own path to success. Your mentor may also be someone in a position to advocate for you to take on new opportunities. Coaches help you look inward, tapping into your own strengths and capabilities.

Of course, the roles are complementary. A mentor can serve as an example for success while a coach can help you personalize your own path to achieve it in a way that’s authentic and sustainable for you.

And remember: A mentor doesn’t have to be a person with more experience than you. “Reverse mentorship” is increasingly popular, but it’s really just a reminder that knowledge and perspective sharing can happen at any level.

Finally, looking for a mentor can be so tiring but yet worth it, so go for what you desire. Do have a blessed day.

Mentor And Mentee Relationship

No mentor and mentee relationship are the same. They come in different shapes and sizes. However, there are key qualities that each mentor-mentee relationship should possess:

  • Willingness to help each other succeed
  • Disseminate information as needed
  • Give and receive feedback both ways
  • Improve interpersonal skills
  • Actively listen and communicate
  • Empathize for one another
  • Respect each person's time

Food For Thought

There’s no such thing as the perfect mentor and mentee relationship. Each relationship is unique to the people involved. Whether you're exchanging career advice or personal stories, a mentor and mentee should have mutual respect for each other. And who knows? This mentor and mentee relationship might transcend to a life-long friendship.

The role of a mentor is simple: Provide guidance and support to a mentee to help them develop professional and personal skills. During a mentor-mentee relationship, a mentor will wear different hats and take on roles that help the mentee achieve their goals.

So, what are the roles mentors take to help a mentee achieve his/her goals?

  • Mentorship: Mentors will provide constant feedback, share advice, and give insights into their specific industry. Often times, mentors will share personal anecdotes like, “I wish I knew this…”
  • Devil’s advocate: Mentors will challenge the mentee when it comes to making major decisions. That means playing the opposite side and providing new angles to a decision.
  • Support System: They celebrate the big and small wins, show support when mentees face setbacks, and consistently provide words of encouragement.
  • Resource: Mentors have countless resources from tools to people to jobs. When mentors and mentees build a strong rapport, the mentor is inclined to provide the necessary tools, introduce their network, and create new professional connections.

As for the role of the mentee, it is simple too: To learn and absorb as much information as they can from the mentor. While the role of the mentee is less varied, they still play an integral role in the relationship. The Mentee can drive the mentorship relationship forward by asking questions and reflecting on their personal values and goals.

Ultimately, the Mentee should engage mentorship when they have a clear sense of the outcomes they wish to achieve.

So, What should the Mentee do?

1. Initiate

Mentees must self-identify as needing mentorship. While everyone could benefit from some form of mentorship, the Mentee must be prepared to reach out for help. Sometimes, there's work that needs to be done before engaging a Mentor.

  • Identify that they would benefit from mentorship.
  • Initiate the mentorship relationship by reaching out for help.
  • Understand that they may need to go through preparatory work to be ready to meet with a Mentor.

2. Engage

Once a Mentee is ready to meet with a Mentor, they must embrace the process by fully engaging. There are many different types of mentorship to engage with, from one-time to long-term, in-person to remote.

  • Give feedback to the Mentor.
  • Listen actively in meetings or on the phone, and respond to emails with care.
  • Demonstrate appreciation for Mentorship and support.
  • Inform Mentors of how you've applied their suggestions, or implemented their advice.

3. Reflect And Act

Without reflection and follow through, the mentorship relationship cannot progress.

The Mentors You Need for Success Picture yourself at 1 AM, searching through hundreds of YouTube videos and related links for the most sensible answers to your life questions. The truth is that you won’t find what you’re looking for. No online tutorial can give you what a real life mentor can offer. Online tutorials may be helpful, but that mentor-mentee relationship sets you up for a lifelong relationship that will keep you learning.

Now, I know you’re thinking, ‘how do I find that one mentor for everything in my life?’ Instead of expecting to learn everything from one person, figure out how to take away a life lesson from everyone. Don’t limit yourself to one mentor.

What Kind of mentors do I need?

The Innovator

When you have an idea, this is the mentor you want to run it by. They are creative, can think quickly on their feet, and will give you a unique perspective. Looking for a collective of people to call mentors can be hard sometimes, but don’t get discouraged. Use the resources you have access to; ask people in your field what they did, and take pride in a simple google search for the kind of mentor you need, who knows the mentor might just be a block away. Find mentors who aren’t just going to tell us what to do, but who have gone through it themselves and can give the best advice for our own situation!

The Networker

Your nerves may get the best of you when it comes to attending networking events or even talking to accomplished people during a regular day. Take a deep breath and find someone who can teach you the ropes of connecting with new people. Your mentors network may end up being your most valuable group of contacts. And just because this may be true, don’t allow your mentor to do all of the work, just see them as an example to follow. Build your own excel sheet and begin to enter the names, contact information and position of every person you interact with on a professional level. Now that’s a great key to networking!

The Challenger

As much as we may not always enjoy it, sometimes we need that extra push to work better and smarter. When you’re working towards a goal, there is always another person who may be working twice as hard as you. You’re never going to be done creating the best you. Having a mentor that will challenge you will teach you how to ask and answer important questions of why you’re doing something, how you are going to effectively complete the job and what tools you need to do so. You may be surprised, but the challenger is usually right in your family as an older sibling or cousin. Don’t underestimate the help they can give you!

The Ally

It’s like having someone sit front row at every major milestone in your life. The path to be successful may not have you waking up with a smile on your face every day. Having a mentor that is your personal cheerleader will show you that quitting in certain circumstances is not an option. My personal ally is my Mum Rev Mrs Bernice Oye. No matter what obstacles I face, she is always there to build me up and cheer me on so that I don’t become stagnant. They know that you’re capable of winning and want you to understand that you were born to lead and succeed. The obstacles you will overcome are really the key to thriving.

And Finally, in all you getting, get a good mentor do have a blessed day.

THE MENTOR

In today’s world, people often talk about the importance of mentorship in personal development and career contexts, with 'get a mentor' being a key piece of advice from successful business people.

In the search to find a mentor, you may find yourself asking questions like, who is a mentor?

Who is a mentor?

A mentor is a person who can support, advise and guide you. They typically take the time to get to know you and the challenges you're facing and then use their understanding and personal experience to help you improve.

Who a mentor isn't?

  • While a mentor can provide invaluable support and guidance across a range of topics including mental health, they are not a therapist. It is important to establish this to all parties participating in mentoring.
  • A mentor is not the same as a coach. Coaches are paid for and provide time-bound teaching on specific topics.
  • Mentoring is not a magic cure. While mentoring can support a range of development goals and has many benefits for both parties, it isn’t going to fix everything.

What is mentoring?

Mentoring is the act or process of helping and guiding another person to support their personal development.

Note that we've said 'personal' development here rather than 'career' development – and that's because ultimately, mentoring is about people. If someone helps you improve your confidence or self-awareness, that's going to translate beyond your day job.

Why do people become mentors?

People choose to mentor others because it's an incredibly valuable experience; seeing somebody grow and succeed as a result of your advice is highly rewarding. There are many benefits of mentoring for the mentor as well as the mentee, such as improving communication and developing leadership skills.

What makes a good mentor?

“A mentor is someone who sees more talent and ability within you than you see in yourself, and helps bring it out of you.” — Bob Proctor

When asking, what is a mentor, it’s important to understand the difference between good mentors and… not so good ones. This quote highlights the essence of a good mentor: somebody that does nottellyou what to do, but guides you to figuring it out for yourself.

When looking for a mentor there are certain characteristics to keep in mind. The traits of a good mentor include:

  • Being a good listener
  • Asking good questions
  • Showing empathy
  • Being encouraging and supportive
  • Self-awareness
  • Giving constructive and honest feedback

Misconceptions about mentoring

There are a few common misconceptions about mentoring that affect the way people think about who a mentor is.

Let me set the record straight in this mentoring myth-busting:

  • "Mentors have to be old" - Mentoring has no age requirements, and older people can benefit from being mentored by younger people, such as in reverse mentoring. What's important is relevant experience and chemistry.
  • "Mentoring only benefits mentees" - Mentoring has heaps of benefits for the mentor as well as the mentee, including; improving communication and leadership skills, increased fulfilment, likelihood of promotion and more.
  • "My mentor has to be similar to me" - Familiarity is nice, but the best learning happens when you're exposed to different ways of thinking. it can be better for your development to seek out opinions from outside to your usual spheres of influence.

Finally, to mentor or to be mentored can be a life changing experience, all you need to do is find the right person and take advantage of all he/she can offer.

Advancing your Career Your relationship with your job might in perfect health.

You might be fully engaged and enjoying each working day.

However, don’t get complacent. Demotivation is always lurking in the shadows ready to take a bite out of your morale.

Immunize yourself from the danger of drudgery by planning your next step up the career ladder.

Steps to planning your advancement up the career ladder:

1. Build your network and be visible ‘It’s not what you know – it’s who you know’. Get to know the right people and impress them with your work. Be conscious that people are always observing what you do and take the time (and effort) to build a strong network.

Spend time networking, networking and networking. You will soon find the right networks and those who are not. You will never know unless you go!

Use LinkedIn and social media. Make sure that your profile is up to date, looks professional and has good content.

2. Persistence pays Don’t give up, if you really want that job or promotion. Fight for it! It all comes down to one simple question: ‘How bad do you want it?’

Be single minded once you know your goal and set yourself targets on a regular basis. You may need to zigzag there but keep focused on what you want. Always focus on your own path and don’t be distracted by what others are doing.

Write down your goals. Seeing them in black and white is a reality check and makes you focus on them.

3. Dare to take the risk You can climb the corporate career ladder by having confidence in yourself to apply for new jobs and ask for promotions. You will never know unless you go.

Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. It’s what you learn from them that will help you to progress. Have the confidence to try new things, or take a sideways move to get a new perspective.

Put your hand up and volunteer to get involved in things at work (even if they are out of your comfort zone!).

Keep your eye on the job market (internally and externally) and apply for roles.

Think about the job specification, the experience and skills which you have and apply it against what they are looking for. Sell yourself and be passionate about wanting the job!

4. Be someone who people want to work with Do more than what is expected from you. Those who do that little bit extra, or who put themselves out for others are often recognized.

Be authentic and behave with passion, integrity and kindness. It’s a small world and someone in a junior position could very easily change jobs or progress. One day they may have an opportunity for you, or become a client.

Don’t be bitchy art work. You could be the best person ever at your job but if people don’t trust you, or you’re not likeable, then it’s all for nothing.

Think before you speak! Plus don’t put anything in writing which could come back to haunt you.

Be proactive. Say things like: ‘Is there anything I can do to help?’. If you need a job which needs doing, just get on with it.

5. Be the best and always try to become better Develop a skill set which is valuable, and always be the best you can be. Quality should be at the forefront of everything you do.

Do something you love! Try to find a passion that is connected to your career and become an expert in it. You will become the ‘go to’ person for that subject.

Learn to accept constructive criticism gracefully as this advice could be the making of you.

Self-improvement Making improvements is the key to being there for others in your life. Not only does self-improvement help you perform your best, but your overall wellbeing will also be enhanced. People who make self-improvement a priority tend to have higher self-esteem and are also more resilient.

How to Self-improve:

  1. Set goals for yourself

Setting goals will help you organize the things you want to achieve. You can do this by simply creating a list, or you can have some fun with it and make a vision board using pictures from magazines or the internet.

  1. Surround yourself with people who want to see you do well

Someone once said you are the sum of the people you spend the most time with. Ask yourself if the people you are spending time with want the best for you and your life. They should align with who you want to be.

  1. Evaluate what isn’t working and eliminate those habits

Insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting a different result. Instead, take the time to evaluate what isn’t working and make the necessary improvements.

  1. Learn new activity or skill

This is a chance to step outside your comfort zone and do something you have always wanted to do. Progress is better than perfection. People are learning new skills on the internet, for free, all of the time! NO EXCUSES!

  1. Eat healthily and hydrate daily

We are made up mostly of water. We also are what we eat, so it is essential to treat your body like a temple. Feed yourself with nourishing items to make sure you have the energy to accomplish all of your goals.

  1. Have compassion for yourself and others

Compassion is a huge factor in how you perceive life’s occurrences.

  1. Clean your space regularly

Your physical space is a reflection of your mental health. Clearing the clutter in your space helps to clear the clutter in your mind.

  1. Get active

Not only is getting active good for your physical wellbeing, but it is also good for relieving stress. So get active by going for a walk or dancing to your favorite songs.

The Steps behind every Progressive Mindset

  1. Create Your Game Plan

It is not enough to know what you want from life; you need to design a roadmap to get to your destination. Here’s what you can do: Break Your SMART Goals into Habits Begin by highlighting the good habits you need to cultivate and the bad habits you need to eliminate. Here’s how to break bad habits that can truncate your progress. Master One Habit at a Time Once you figure out the good habits to have in your life, then ensure you practice them daily.

Scientists revealed that you would need 18 to 254 days to develop new habits, and that a new habit will only become permanent after 66 days of practicing it. Once you have gained mastery over a habit, add more routines that will enable you to make progress in the direction of your goals.

  1. Imbibe Positivity

A positive outlook means you are always optimistic about yourself, interactions, and events. It also determines your ability to expect favorable outcomes when working towards your life goals. Positivity is a mental posture that sees accomplishments and opportunities instead of failures and defeat. It will keep you hopeful when you are facing daunting challenges. A study on positive thinking revealed that visualizing positive images can reduce worry and anxiety.

How to maintain a positive outlook on life?

• Look out for the best in every circumstance to be more progress-minded.

• Use positive affirmations. For instance, when you wake up, say, “I will work hard to complete all my milestones today.”

• Associate with positive people that will support your progress. You need positive energy to consistently make progress in the direction of your goals.

• Change your perspectives about failures and setbacks, see them as significant components of making progress.

  1. Practice Reflection as You Progress

A lot of things will occur once you are determined to advance. You will learn new lessons and implement changes. You will form new habits and eliminate bad ones. It is reasonable to take time out and evaluate what worked and what did not. Ask yourself how you can improve and surmount new obstacles. You can log your answers in a diary or use a virtual journal to track your thoughts. Self-reflection will enable you to keep your goals in mind constantly, which will ultimately help you make progress.

How to make practicing Reflection happen?

Set up a Weekly Appointment With Yourself During this period, define your goals and reflect on them. It will also help you verify if your goals are still achievable.

Ask Reflective Questions

Did I achieve all I planned?

What salient lesson can I pick this week?

What new thing did I learn, and what actions do I need to make progress?

  1. Celebrate Your Achievements

It is highly important to acknowledge every milestone you complete as you make progress in life, no matter how little, it is worth celebrating. Celebrating your achievements will build your confidence and provide you with motivation to continue. One of the best ways to do this is by pampering yourself with rewards when you achieve a goal. These rewards could be things you enjoy, such as a special meal, or even a mini-vacation. These little rewards will continuously remind you of victory anytime you feel like giving up. Merely looking at your mini-vacation pictures will motivate you to keep working towards your next goals. Celebrating your achievements will enable you to build on existing momentum and will allow you to attract more successes.

In conclusion, goals offer you a sense of purpose and fulfillment when accomplished. When you make progress relentlessly in the direction of your goals, you build up the confidence to overcome obstacles, and every setback becomes a stepping stone to achieve your next target.

To every progressive mindset there was a step followed to build that MINDSET, and today we will be looking at those steps.

The Steps behind every Progressive Mindset

You can make progress by establishing your goals and diligently working towards those goals that align with your life’s purpose. A lot of dreams are not terminated because the dreamers gave up; they are terminated due to a long period of inactivity. This is the more reason you need to develop a progress mindset while you pursue those relevant and meaningful goals. A progress mindset will enable you to work on breaking barriers/habits/inadequacy that can truncate the realization of your goals. What this mindset does is to help you constantly evaluate yourself, improve your skills, and seek ways to learn and grow through life.

Why Is Developing a Progress Mindset Important?

One of the many key things we look out for is a trip to a to achieving sound health, happiness, good relationships, and peace. Our mindset has a way of affecting our beliefs, how you perceive your talents, skills, knowledge, and personality. Your belief system eventually influences your viewpoints about goals and success. Permit me to say a fixed mindset can hinder your progress.

6 Steps to Creating a Progressive Mindset

1. Figure Out Your WHYs

You are either making progress or retrogressing. You need to establish why you want to move forward because nothing in this life is static. Questions that will help you figure out your whys are like:

Career: Why do I want to be fulfilled in my career?

Marriage: Why do I want a happy home?

Health: Why do I want to be physically and mentally sound?

Finance: Why do I want to be out of debt/wealthy?

Academics: Why do I want to ace my grades?

Relationship: Why do I want to communicate better?

Personal: Why do I want to be a better person?

Is always important to establish reasons why you want to change levels in every aspect of your life. Because someone said and I quote, “When your why is strong and convincing, the how will emerge.” Establishing your reasons will help you to be an active player in decisions that affect your life. You will also be able to establish if your motivation to progress is intrinsic or extrinsic as you make progress.

2. Establish Tangible Goals

Once you have established your WHYs, the next step is to establish your desired goals. Break them down to short-term, mid-term, and as well as long-term goals for easy actualization. This process will not just enable you to track your progress but also help you to take them down one at a time and implement changes that improve your progress.

Keep Your Goals SMART Apart from breaking them into parts you can take on daily you also have to make sure your goals are SMART that is, your goals should be Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-bound in order to make the desired progress. For instance, I want to read 6 books within the next three months, that means I will read 2 books each month. For this to be actualize, I will have to divide the total numbers of chapters I have in the 2 books by the number of days I have set out for reading and that mathematical process will bring about the total number of days it will take me to read the2 books in a month, then do the same for the remaining months and books.

3. Create Your Game Plan

It is not enough to know what you want from life; you need to design a roadmap to get to your destination.

To be continued next week, Thanks for listening and reading

I learnt that humanity doesn't what you to make things easy for them, people will always want you to be hash on them, I discover that if you the kind of person that cut slack for people (make things easy for people) people always tend to ride on you and make it look like you are a foolish person or that your don't know what to do, you can imagine that you favored someone and that person feels like its his smartness that makes them achieve that which you did out of love and compassion to them, personally their are people that so dear to me, very close to my heart that I carry them like that and I value them, I do what ever it is and it takes to make them happy....

Day 11 Golden Rubbish 2022 Golden Rubbish 2022 Transforming life's crazy experience into valuable tools

Why we do this? We do this because we want you to give people access to the information about the experience you've had so that when the encounter such things they will know what to do and how to better off.

What is your worst experience for the year 2021? Two years back the Covid-19 pandemic has severely affected numerous economic sectors across the world including the livestock production and the poultry sector which is quite more essential than ever has not gone on scared because a lot of farmers were stock with large quantity of eggs and other poultry product they couldn't sale, as the lockdown erases the demand for eggs and other poultry product and also there is a decline in the purchasing power of people and we were all sure that this was all as the result of the lockdown, there was a lot of economic downturn in all house holds. So, this as resulted in the inability of the poultry business to maintain cash flows for there farm operations and a lot of them were thrown out of business. So, towards the end of 2020 I had high expectation for the year 2021 and the hope that it will be a much better year than 2020, you know because 202 was the year were the whole world was plunged into the Covid-19 pandemic, the lockdowns, the social distancing, the economic downturns and all, so i had many hopes and aspiration for the year 2021 because I expected the Corona pandemic, the social distancing the lockdown and the economic downturn which affected my poultry business and also other peoples businesses will be over before 2021 and that the world economy will recover and stabilize once again, well 2021 started some what good and I was quite happy that it wasn't as volatile and certain and chaotic as 2020 was because it showed some good signs but unfortunately barely two month into the year I got a shocker of my entrepreneurial journey, there was an out break of bird flue around my farm and some neighboring farm had been hit by the flue, so at that time I was caught in a catch22 situation because selling my poultry birds at that time is loosing hell amount of money because we haven't even break the even and also by keeping them we are risking the birds to bird flue which will definitely sniff the life out of them all but I had no better choice than to sell off the layer chickens at a lose price, in short I was thrown out of business and there was no cash flow, nothing...

Day 10 Golden Rubbish 2022

Golden Rubbish 2022

Transforming life's crazy experience into valuable tools

Why we do what we do?

We are doing what we do because we want you to have access to information that can help you build your tomorrow, our desire is that your 2022 should be better than 2021.

What's your worst experience for the year 2021?

The worst experience i had for 2021 was an online interview that I went for which was suppose to admit me on scholarship to a program worth over 6 million naira the interview didn't go well at all and what made it the worst experience I had was that when I sat to be interview for that program

I suddenly have an over whelming feeling that could not allow me think, talk or express my self, I couldn't think or talk methodically so I couldn't express my self as I ought to have done and it me understand that I had a hidden case of imposter syndrome that manifested then and the rate of my imposter syndrome was some words that had been spoken to and over me over time, I never knew that it had find its way into me and i never knew it was there any way so at that moment I sat there I couldn't communicate now someone may think that i was not able to understand this question this is a program that is a multi-stage

process, you get to write applications, you get to write an exam finally before you come to that stage of the interview, what i was asked in the interview was exactly the question that I had written in my application so they perhaps wanted to know if you are the same person that wrote it or if you gave

someone to write for you and also to kind of put a human face to it and see, and experience your passion when you are expressing your idea.

Another argument is to say I was not vast in communicating my idea through talking to people or public speaking maybe we should say that...

To get the full information about her experience and what she did to overcome the imposter syndrome listen to the above podcast....

Day 9 Golden Rubbish 2022 Golden Rubbish 2022 Transforming life's crazy experience into valuable tools Golden Rubbish is all about people coming to tell you about their experiences in the previous year, when i mean experiences I mean their worst experiences so that you can learn from it and do better next time.

What is your worst experience in 2021? My worst experience in 2021 was when I was been asked to resign from my place of work without being prepared for it. Its always important to prepare for the Unknown...

What lesson did you learn from that experience? The lesson I learnt from it is, as a human being if you are working you need to be prepared at all time anything both negative or positive can happen to you at every point in time. Preparation is always important, in anything you do always be prepared for the unknown.

What will you do if you are given the opportunity to relive 2021 again? If I were given a chance, what I would have done better is apart from investment which I did I would have saved some capital so that if anything happen to me I would be able to pickup from the capital, you know sometimes your investment can not start fetching or earning I mean bringing profit to you at every point in time some times its a long time investment so you need some capital to kick off some businesses so that before the other investment get ready, you will start surviving.

Investment is good but we need to know which kind of investment we need to do, so permit me to say your are required to do 3 kinds of investment;

Long term investment Short term investment and the Immediate term investment...

Day 8 Golden Rubbish 2022 Golden Rubbish 2022 Transforming life's crazy experience into valuable tools

Why we do this? we do this because we want it to serve as a platform for you to build on, to listen to someone's experience and to know what next to do when you encounter the same thing.

What is your worst experience in 2021? Yea, 2021 was a very dynamic year for me and one of the most difficult experiences I had was stepping into spaces giving people the privilege to place labels on me and very unfavorable labels, why because I went into this spaces and presented my self in a way that was not favorable, that was not advisable, that was not befitting and it became a problem because I noticed that once people have a certain perspective about you it becomes difficult to change and they get to relate with you base on that perspective for  really long time.

Don't let people introduce you introduce by yourself, you know yourself when people introduce you for themselves they et to be so shallow minded ion defining you so be bold enough to tell them what you stand for, who you are and that can only happen through self realization...

What Lesson did you learn from that experience? The lesson I learnt from this experience is really nothing much but just that everyone should be able to won up to who they really are, know your worth so you can decide, you can plan to be the most hard working person or the most eloquent speaker in a space but if you've not come to this place of understanding who you really are and accepting yourself for who you are, building rigid confidence, topnotch confidence around your person, working on your weaknesses and making sure they don't limit you, you'll notice that you step into spaces you are suppose to do amazing things and you are unable to because you've not really come to this place of self worth, self realization, of grooming yourself. So, its more about the inside work, than its ever about the outside work... Listen to get more insight about her 2021 experience....

Day 7 Golden Rubbish 2022

Golden Rubbish 2022

Transforming life's crazy experience into valuable tools

Why we do this?

The reason why we do this is not to expose someone's fault but we want you to learn from it, experiences are reoccurring who knows tomorrow you might the same experience, hearing this information will enable you know what to do and the right right step to take that will give you productive and positive.

What is your worst experience for the year 2021?

One of the greatest mistakes I made in the year 2021 is sharing my vision with my lover, I was seeing it more of a faith confession but then I know learnt my lesson that there are some faith talk or faith aspirations once it has a time bound in which we are expecting this things to come to pass lets try to keep it to ourselves, we might just paint the picture of this and this and this will happen but then when we begin to speak with audacity by this time will be done, by this time this will be done hopefully in as much as you or I communicated this things that it is something that hope to have achieved by this time and by this time, when this things tends not to fall in place, I was now viewed upon as someone that is not true to his words though not told but you can see the looks it tells a lot that hey you shouldn't have mentioned it so detail, so lucid but you know in life we make mistakes and we grow.

Personally when I set some targets some dreams some goals i give my best hoping it will be achieved but I also know just as proverbs 21:31 says the horse is ready for the battle but victory comes only from the Lord that's according to the king version, the message version put it this way, do your best prepare for the worst and trust God to bring you victory that is to say at times you might give in your best, while you trust God for victory just prepare your heart for the worst because the race is not for the swift nor the battle to the strong nor bread to men of skills, there are things that it is not in your doing you can just plan and hope but then when you share it with some persons especially a lady as a guy, when this things are not achieved in as much that you have earlier painted that this is what I hope that by this time by this time will be in place it will not be seen that way it will rather be seen as though you weren't true to your words.

Goals are no display items,

goals are meant to be shared with people who are meant to help you.

If telling you will not help you help me actualize it I keep it to myself.

If given a second chance what will you do better?

Somethings I will best keep it to myself.

What is your final words for us today?

That something did not happened the way we hoped and planned doesn't mean it will not happen that time is just that possibly the perfect timing for it has not yet reached...

Day 6 Golden Rubbish 2022

Golden Rubbish 2022

Transforming life's crazy experience into valuable tools

Why we do what we do?

Why we do this is because we want you to build on something, we want you to have an information that will help you run better.

What is your worst experience for the year 2021?

I employed someone in my patent medicine store and guest what that person don't know how to dispense drug, I know somebody will be asking how and why, she studied accounting and I was in desperate need of someone to stay in the shop because I had a lot on my hands and another funny thing is that she don't know how to handle customers, a lot of customers will call hey "oga Doctor do you want to kill this your shop why are you not coming", some times she will come late to the shop and some times she will not even come totally and that was what gave my business a big blow, there was total shutdown in my sales, my sales crumbled from 100% down to 30 and from 30 some times there will be no sales completely, when I pick my calls to receive, to hear complains from customers it really hurts, it hurts me a lot, you know this is my dream, this is my vision and someone is playing with it, so this actually gave my business a very tough time... she ended up crumbling my business.

Incompetency destroys things, if we have to employ someone who is incompetent

we have to be there to put the person through to learn but that's the mistakes we've made

and you've made that but am sure you've learnt a lesson from it.

What lesson did you learn from that experience?

I have the vision, I am the dreamer so I am the only person who understand my business or who understand my vision and I am the only person that kind be able to run it very well, no matter how much I need help, no matter how tight my schedules are I am the only person that can run this vision very well.

A vision that is not transferred, no one can understand it and that is one of the short comings you pointed out...

Day 5 Golden Rubbish 2022

Golden Rubbish 2022

Transforming life's crazy experience into valuable tools

Why is this happening?

All this is happening is because we want you to learn from someone's experience, what someone has gone through you can pick something from it to build on it to make a better tomorrow for yourself and fore the world at large.

What is your worst experience in 2021?

My worst experience in the year 2021 was actually about a job that I spent or wasted time on, it was so unfortunate that I knew what I always wanted but then because I felt I needed a job I had to take extra time spending extra time on the job while am actually passionate about something else and every day as I go to work I was feeling I am almost depressed because felt I am not doing what I am passionate for but along the way I had to quite and go for what I am actually passionate about.

What lesson have you learnt from that experience?

One of the most valuable lessons I learnt in 2021 is that time is life and when you are wasting you time you are wasting your life. Our life counts in times, it counts in seconds in minutes in hours and it is very very important you maximize your time.

So as we a looking to start a new year 2022 I will like to encourage our listeners that you take advantage of your time, make the best use of your time, what ever is needed to be done do it at the right time, don't do what is right at the wrong time, do the right thing at the right time and make best use of your time.

Another lesson I learnt is that go for what your are passionate for don't waste time on what you are not passionate about, don't think because you want to survive you go for alternatives that actually don't help you go far or that you are not passionate . Go for what you really want and it will help you to enjoy your life, enjoy your time.

If given a second chance what will you like to make adjustment to?

I will actually not spend time on a job that am not passionate about, secondly I will try as much as possible to maximize the usage of my , I will make sure i use my time appropriately, I will schedule all of my daily activities....

Day 4 Golden Rubbish 2022

Golden Rubbish 2022, Transforming life's crazy experience into valuable tools

Why we do this?

We are doing this because we don't want you to always start afresh, we are doing this because we want you to build from someone's experience what someone has gone through you use it to run and you will enjoy the ride this year.

What is your worst experience in 2021?

I would say that my 2021 was a year that I have so much to learn from, I stated the year with so much enthusiasm, I had so much person I had things I have planned out with expectation

that I was actually going to meet them before the end of the year, I did meet some while some of them I couldn't meet them and I was able to sit down and ask my self what was

the impediment that prevented me from meeting this goals as I have planned them and then I was able to pick some lesson learnt from 2021 and I will be shearing a few of them incase there is any one who will want to learn from it as well.

  1. I planned registering my organization with CAC before the end of the year and I planned caring out a project after the registration is completed which is suppose to happen around March/April I planned caring a project by August with my team members only to realize that the organization was not fully register because I was having some challenges with the Lawyer as a result I couldn't complete my project hoping that the registration will be completed before the end of the year, only to realize that down to the end of the year the registration was not completed as a result we were unable to carry out the project. so that was one thing I fail to achieve on my part because I was suppose to have a backup plan as to how I should carry out the project even without the registration of the organization fully completed. One loss I actually had as a result to that is that my team members seeing that we are domicile for a while they started pulling out, it was really a loss on my part.

One lesson I learnt from that moving forward is that if I am planning a particular project I should not depend on factors/variables that are dependent on me achieving that plan, I should have a plan B.

Day 3 Golden Rubbish 2022

Transforming life's crazy experience into valuable tools

We do what this because we want you to learn from someone's experience, tomorrow can be better when you are able to build from some where not starting from scratch. someone's experience will give you a platform to to stand on to build instead of starting from scratch.

What is your worst experience in 2021

It happen on Saturday 3rd of July I was in my room with a friend and one of my neighbor we were having a very interesting conversation then along the line a question popped out, I never knew the question will pop up in future where as my answer to that question will determine weather I have faith in God.

So, the question was is God always good?

Well I responded to that question that day by saying that God is good all the time because that is his nature and his goodness is not based on how perfect we are, his goodness is not based on our works, God is good because that is his nature.

I Remember saying that it is impossible for God to do evil because it is against His nature.

The next day 4th of July I went out in the evening around 5pm there about to the market with one of my neighbors, we went to get some items when we received a call, the call was from one our co-tenant, and on the phone, the person said we should come home immediately because there is a fire in our house, we never knew it was something big, but then we left what we were doing immediately and we rushed to the house.

As I stood afar, behold, the site in front of me smoke going up in the air, I saw a lot of people with bucket who had come help to quench

the fire. The words that kept ringing in my head was the same question that was asked a day before

Is God always good that question came to my mind and even though I was still trying to figure out what was going on, even though I was still trying to comprehend the site I was looking at

I made a conscious effort to keep saying it in my mind and keep saying it out loud that God is good because at that point I felt like my faith was being tested would I say that God is not good again because of what is currently happening to me?

or is God still good despite what I am going through?

Now while I was there feeling bad about the incidence, I was looking into my room thinking of how to start over, I saw how much my neighbors properties was burnt to ashes and I had a reason to be grateful. Now my self and my other neighbors that were affected by the accident had to sleep in a school class room for some days before the roof of the house was fixed upon you can imagine that experience.

after that incidence the desire I always had to leave that house grew stronger I began to feel so uncomfortable and I was believing God so much for a miracle, I just want to get out of that house.

I knew I couldn't afford to rent a new house at the time but I trusted God for a miracle, it was a very trying times for me now all people were saying to me at the time was same thing that was so common in Yoruba dialect it is translated to English as:

The king house that got burnt only adds to its beauty

I believe in that word, I trusted God and the month after a miracle happened, I move into a better place.

In what ever you are going through, don't loose hope always have faith don't just have faith and sit down, apply works to your faith and things will begin to turn out well.

That experience did not only hep me to change my environment but it also helped me to change my perception about so many things.

There is something positive, In every negative experience

Day 2 Golden Rubbish 2022

Transforming life's crazy experience into valuable tools

All what we want to do here is to make people point you

to their experiences so that you can learn from it.

My worst experience last year was actually a missed golden opportunity of learning a skill, a skill that could

have been very helpful to my career and to me personally as an individual but I missed that opportunity but I know

it will definitely come around someday.

What I learnt from that experience is that I should be ready always for opportunities.

Most times opportunities

don't make announcements before coming.

Opportunities want to meet a prepared person, so I have learnt to always be ready.

What I will do better next time is to save for such opportunities.

Never forget that before anything became Rubbish

it was ones a valuable thing.

Day 1 Introduction

Golden Rubbish 2022

Transforming life's crazy experience into valuable tools

  • Why are we here?
  • What is Golden Rubbish?

All this is trying to bring out the best from every experience.

  • Experiences are reoccurring, what you experience today someone some where will experience the same thing.

-So why not make your experience available for people to listen to and the solutions available to them so that when they encounter the same thing

they will know where and what to do.

Every experience looks like its nothing but when the proper lesson are learnt it becomes important not just learnt, but when they are learnt and you are able to transfer it, it becomes important.

So, in life we have 3 things that always occur:

  1. Yesterday
  2. Today and
  3. Tomorrow

The moment Tomorrow becomes today and Today becomes Yesterday we are left with memories, we are left with experiences, what I call

Life currencies..

Which you can either make purchases with or help someone make purchases with.

Golden Rubbish is here to help make peoples life currencies available...
