Welcome to Pathways Connect. For this episode Pastor Hamish talks about what praise posture looks like and why it matters.

Discussion Questions:

How do we maintain a heart of thankfulness towards God when our emotions or circumstances get the better of us?

• Remember the examples that Hamish used (Sunday worship and coming to work frustrated on a Monday).

• We want our connect group members to know that they can choose to praise God despite what they’re feeling.

• The leper who returned to thank Jesus is a great example of a thankful heart (Luke 17:11-19).

Read Psalm 63. How does this passage teach us what a posture of worship looks like?

• Get everyone to open their Bibles and read through the Psalm together. Someone could read it all aloud, or you could divide it up.

• What physical actions are depicted in David’s words?

• What does the emotive language tell you about the posture of David’s heart?

Share what needs to change in your physical posture or heart posture when it comes to praising God.

• Time to be challenged and get practical. Lead the discussion to be specific rather than vague and generic.

Pray for Revival Week - that it will be a week of people coming together to worship and celebrate God’s goodness. Pray for wisdom and strength for all involved in organizing.
Pray that we will see first time decisions on Sundays at church and that people will be inspired to bring unsaved friends and family.
A gentleman in our church is currently being monitored for some abnormalities in his heart. Pray for complete healing and strength in his body from this issue.
Pray for more volunteers to rise up and assist in departments of the church – Kidzway, Connect Team, Creative Edge/Production teams.

pray for a young man connected to people in our church who has just tried to take his own life. Pray for his physical, emotional and mental healing - freedom from drug addiction.
Pray that we will see first time decisions on Sundays at church and that people will be inspired to bring unsaved friends and family.
Continue to pray for Claire Holland and Darren Nimmo as they battle with severe illness requiring treatment and surgery - Healing and strengthening.
Pray for more volunteers to rise up and assist in departments of the church - Kidzway, Connect Team, Creative Edge/Production teams.
Pray for Ps. Jon and Edie as they continue to lead the church.

We thank Jesus for a successful operation for Janine Loftie-Eaton who had surgery on her neck. Pray for a quick recovering and healing.
Pray for out missionaries, Serg and Siobhan Reinhard as they talk with the Uruguayan government as to a possible visa.
Pray for our Watchmen and Edge Girls programs as they get underway in 2021. Pray that we will see many men and women open their hearts to Jesus through these events.
Pray for our 'In-house' youth camp coming up - that our youth will receive a powerful touch from God.
A man in our congregation has just been diagnosed with a serious heart condition. Pray for his healing.
