We all have an innate desire to grow in some way shape or form. But sometimes, growth and change can be REALLY scary!
As we look to improve ourselves, there are four zones that we go through in order to transform into the best version.
Comfort zone
Fear zone
Learning zone to the
Growth zone.
We tend to get scared once we leave the comfort zone and enter the fear zone so our initial reaction is to retreat back to where we are familiar with. In weeks episode of the World of Wellness Podcast, we will take you through each of the phases, what to expect, and how to transform your life from the comfort you're in now, to the confidence you wish to embody in yourself and in your life!

We have the power to influence our bodies and our minds through our self talk!
The way we talk to ourselves is often habitual, and truthfully, most of the self talk we have is negative. Our bodies are directly influenced by the mind so if we have a negative self talk or positive self talk, the body responds accordingly In this Episode of the World of Wellness Podcast, we dive into:

Most of the time, exercise and finding joy in movement is not a first choice of activity, but its done out of necessity, quality of life, strength, and weight loss. Starting strength training ESPECIALLY as a beginner, it can feel awkward, frustrating, and overwhelming. And, getting started is the hardest part.
I can tell you these things all we want, but at the end of the day, you have to experience it for yourself, or, hear it from someone who is in a similar position as you. That's why, I decided to interview someone who I've only been training for about two months in this weeks podcast, Episode #10, A Beginners Perspective.
My boyfriend Hayden, who is 37 years old, has a slightly sedentary lifestyle as a Computer Animator and just started strength training 2 months ago with World of Wellness. Truthfully, his body awareness was limited and his mechanics, choppy. But all of a sudden - things just clicked. His movements became fluid, he was getting into the flow of the workout, and really started to enjoy moving his body and seeing the benefits translate into his everyday life.
In this podcast you will hear from Hayden:
Did you know: for best results and weight loss, your strength training program should consist of ABC's.
A= Agility B= Balance C= Coordination
And the best part is - these all correlate directly with the brain.
Agility = speed at which the brain fires a signal to the muscle
Balance = efficiency at which the brain can send a signal to the muscle
Coordination = Being able to fire different muscles efficiently, fast, and simultaneously
In this episode we talk about:

Exercise has so many benefits to the body and weight loss is definitely one of them. But what about exercise on the brain?!
When we exercise it helps our brain:

In this episode of the World of Wellness Podcast, Megan interviews her good friend and client Faye who is not shy about being 74 years old and definitely fit after 50!
Fitness can be intimidating and seem daunting as we get older. Fear starts to creep in, we worry about injuries, etc. But Faye's story is motivating and inspiring for all of us on the fence about diving into our weight loss and fitness journeys. Faye started strength training seriously only 5 years ago. Working with knee injuries, Faye has lost weight, improved her quality of life, she's been able to travel and scuba dive, AND she's happier.
If you're over 50, want to lose weight and transform your lifestyle so you can live a long, full, healthy life - you won't want to miss this episode!
You are in for some TRUTH!
It's so easy to get frustrated when we aren't where we want to be with our health, fitness, strength or flexibility. It's frustrating when we need to make adaptations but don't have the tools we are used to. It's easy to neglect the hard things and only do the easy things.
The anger, frustration, irritableness is all the REAL part of transforming into the healthiest version of ourselves. Not the rainbows and butterflies that society tells us. YES there can be rainbow and butterfly results BUT the struggles in the day to day process of fitness are REAL. This is the reason some people never start, because they're afraid of the uncomfortableness and frustration that comes with (re)starting something new. The good news - we can and will succeed with consistence and persistence AND - you aren't alone.
In today's episode of the World of Wellness Podcast, I'm talking all about What to Expect with You are (re)Starting an Exercise Program so you can break your barriers and transform into the healthiest, happiest, version of yourself.
If you're struggling with frustration or lack of motivation with taking your health and fitness to the next level, then you WON'T want to miss this episode.

In this episode, Megan gives us tips, tricks, and a formula you can use so you can ACTUALLY start losing weight!
In this podcast we talk about:
1) Why your food intake is important
2) How Strength training and cardio work together to help us burn fat
3) How to use MyFitnessPal (no affiliation)

7) To calculate calories deficient for weight loss:
Step 1: Determine how many calories per day you need
Step 2: Track all calories you eat per day
Step 3: Track your exercise calories burned separately from MyFitnessPal
Step 4: How ever many calories you burned, that is your deficit for the day BUT if you eat MORE calories than the baseline, subtract those intake calories from the burned calories.
Take your need minus your intake, then add your calories burned = calorie deficit
Example 1:
Sally Needs 1400 calories per day
Intake = 1400 calories
Exercise = 300 calories burned
(need) 1400 - (intake)1400 = 0 +(exercise) 300 = 300 calorie deficit for the day
Example 2:
Bertha needs 1400 calories per day
Bertha's intake = 1600 calories
Exercise = 400 calories burned
Calorie deficit = 200 calories
(need)1400 -(intake) 1600 = -200 +(exercise) 400= 200 calorie deficit for the day
