Today we finish off part one of The Hero With A Thousand Faces with a bang! This one is over an hour long, so sit back and relax as we move through a number of topics and I get my self talked into a corner at one point and forget what I was saying.

No editing! So enjoy any of my many blunders and tell me what you think!

Today we mix things up a little. We are minimizing our footprint at Anarcho Book Club. While we love LBRY and Peertube, it seems a little redundant and stupid to throw these episodes up there now. Neither channel gets more than 2-3 views and there are a lot more downloads of each episode via RSS and so we have decided to stop uploading to those platforms.

We have also decided to simplify production of these episodes. This episode was made purely using FFMPEG, and that's it. No editing and from now on we are going to minimize how much editing we do to each episode.

With that out of the way, we are pleased to present the conclusion of Chapter 2 of The Hero With A Thousand Faces. Hopefully you have grabbed a copy of this book and have been reading along. If not, sit back and enjoy, though you may miss some context.

So today we aren't going to dive back into The Hero With A Thousand Faces just yet. I have discovered Monero, you see? Wanted to share some experiential thoughts on the whole concept of cryptocurrencies, Monero and Bitcoin more specifically. You'll hear me confuse my words. Rant about some other things, and give my impressions of different OSes for the Pinephone.

Also, don't forget to do something this week to limit your exposure to centralizing forces. I don't know what, but maybe check out Monero.

I haven't quite finished taking notes for the rest of chapter 2 of The Hero With A Thousand Faces, so today we discuss anarchy in action. This is a call to action to get you thinking about what you can do to live out your own philosophy. Whether you call yourself an anarcho-communist, anarcho-capitalist, an agorist, or something else, it is all meaningless unless you actually take action. How do you stop complaining about the hardships of your life and actually take action to change your life and become the hero of your own story? I don't have the answer to specifics, but I know one thing, if you don't do something, your life will never move int he direction that you want it to.

Today we focus on the initial trials of the hero and the beginning of the hero journey through life. I go off on a sidetrack about how this applies to anarchism and the power of myth to the individual. We also touch on the tragedy of seeking power over others.

Today we discuss The Hero With A Thousand Faces Chapter One, Departure. We go through the stories of the hero's seclusion from the world and the beginning of the hero's rise from the dark woods. The first trial appears in this chapter and the call to action. The art of myth-making stems from this very root when the hero is called to better their community or a neighboring community.

Today we begin our heroic journey into the book The Hero With A Thousand Faces. This books explores the realms of mythology that influence the daily lives of every individual, regardless of if they know it or not. The prologue, titled The Monomyth, helps us to discover the universal struggle of the world, through time, of the universal myth that persists throughout the world in various tales and stories relating to each culture and community.

We discuss how this related to modern day events and begin to delve into our own hero journey through each and every person's individual myth.

The Metamorphosis

The Metamorphosis was a book written in 1915. It was a fantastic little read that covers the debt of a family that weighs so heavily on the main character of the book, Gregor Samsa, that is causes him to transform into an unsightly creature. I give a little summary, then go into my thoughts and how it relates to anarchism in today's society.

SEK3, as he is known, is the founder of the social theory of agorism, an anarchist social theory whose members called themselves agorists or voluntaryists. Emma Goldman may have been one of the most influential anarchists in North American history. She wrote a number of essays, but her main body of work consists of speeches and rallies. She was a unionist, feminist, decentralist, a probable atheist, which culminated in her identity as one of the most notorious anarchists of her age. The following is the first oggcast of this club. Below it are links to the different things discussed in the podcast. We hope you enjoy!
