Jewish Rabbis use a concept called "stringing the pearls" when teaching. These "pearls" show connections between text in the Torah, the Prophets, the Writings, etc. In the New Testament, Rabbi Jesus did the same thing—He continually pulled pearls of the Old Testament together for those He was teaching. Today, Chandalee and Jenn are talking about some Old and New Testament passages that illustrate what being talmid (learners) look likes. Enjoy!!

In 2017, Chandalee picked up this life-changing book, Sitting at the Feet of Rabbi Jesus, while at the Garden Tomb in Jerusalem. It was an instrumental book for her in reframing from a Western to an Eastern view and interpretation of Scripture. Last week, they talked about the vast amount of information/knowledge that is available to us in today's culture, up to 34GB a day to be exact! WOW. Almost 21 million Americans have at least one addiction, yet only 10% of them receive treatment. [1] Drug overdose deaths have more than tripled since 1990. [1] More than 90% of people who have an addiction started to drink alcohol or use drugs before they were 18 years old. [1]
For each of these 21 million, there are countless friends and family affected as well. So many lives impacted by the trauma and pain. It's overwhelming. But, God. He has provided hope through Christ and help through facilities such Adult and Teen Challenge! In Exodus 20:21, Moses didn't retreat FROM the dark place (cloud) where God was, but he PRESSED INTO it! Today, Chandalee and Jenn are chatting with Leighann McCoy, Prayer Minister at Thompson Station Church in Tennessee! Leighann is no stranger to the dark places. By pressing into them, instead of retreating, she's developed a deeper, richer relationship with God.
