The LGBTQI+ community are at a higher risk of experiencing youth homelessness, and often encounter discrimination when seeking support.
In this episode, we discuss how homelessness intersects with LGBTQIA+ rights in Melbourne, from the perspective of Queenie, a young transgender woman with lived experience of homelessness.
A collaborative report entitled “The Cost of Youth Homelessness in Australia Study” found that 56% of young people experiencing homelessness had to leave home due to domestic violence on at least one occasion.
