Two dudes trying to live and encourage others to live like good Catholic men in a world that's starving for what most think is irrelevant.
In this installment of the podcast that refuses to die, we talk briefly about the Padre Pio movie (like, really briefly) and The Sound of Freedom as well as the implications of the related ailments that plague our society's tearing down of the masculine fabric and what we can and do about them. In order to not plagiarize, the links for the clips we used are at the bottom of these notes. Remember to like, subscribe, and all that junk (give us a 5-star review) and if you want to follow on the socials, here is the stuffs about the links:

Have you ever heard a homily that made you upset enough to record a podcast? I forgot this episode was supposed to be about who gets into heaven and I talk about a homily that perhaps contained heresy. Well, let's see if this gets controversial... it shouldn't, but we at least need to call out the bad stuff when it happens. What do you think? Today we hear an episode that should have been released weeks ago, but better late than never. In this -worth the wait episode, we are joined by the lovely Mrs. Dude Catholic herself as Adrian awkwardly flirts with cheesy pickup lines and they both dive into the overturning of Roe V Wade and what it means to America and Catholics. So if you're pro-abortion, you are probably not even listening to this podcast, but if you are; you must love being upset. Fair warning, you will be triggered. So, it's been a few months and here's what you can find on this episode:
1) An update - not the most satisfying update, but there is a why we've been gone and what's been going on... or not going on.
2) Work - what a man has to do and though we are not made for work, we are made the ability to work and also the obligation to do so.
3) Play - we must play. Here, Adrian shares about doing stuff with the family a bit and how what we do has eternal consequences.

Today Ramon shares about his new adventures in fatherhood and we are once again reminded by Adrian's screw ups, that this podcast is led by two imperfect individuals that know how to press record and publish buttons to eventually get a podcast out to you. Thank you for continuing on this journey with us and for building us up in prayer as we do for you.
SPOILER ALERT: This episode gets cut short and therefore prolonged because you'll have to join us next time to get the conclusion of this episode with Mr. Javier Sandoval.

PARENTAL ADVISORY - GRAPHIC CONTENT
That being said, it's not graphic but we hope that got your attention. We do bring up sex and marital infidelity, but nothing too dirty to be deemed explicit. Just a fair heads up if you don't want to have to explain stuff to a 3 year old who always tunes in when they are not supposed to. Either way, thanks for sticking with us.

On today's episode of the dude|CATHOLIC podcast, Ramon talks about something that might destroy the podcast... or not. We honestly don't know how people will respond to this, but we hold to what we've said from the beginning about our walk. The message is like life, beautiful and filled with joy, but messy and different people will see it differently. Either way we strive, either way we love, either way... we don't give up. So if that wasn't click-bait, I don't know what is.

Death makes us come to terms with our own mortality and take inventory of our existence. So join us as we talk about this and more with Mrs. Vivian Garcia and our friend Javier.

Do you know who you are? Perhaps most importantly, do you know if the beloved knows who you are? In this episode, the dudes talk about other people telling them who they are through the way they are seen by them. How does your beloved see you?

Today we talk about man's beast friend and how in the order of nature, it's okay to be master. Reason being that God created us in his image and likeness. While we were put in charge of creation, it is important we remember who we are in relation to God. Our relationship with dogs serves as a good example. When dogs have anything over their human, they are not happy and you see it in their not-so-good boy behavior. When a dog is under his master, dog is happy and well behaved. If we don't submit to God, we are not happy. Listen to the episode for more random dude thoughts on this, perhaps over-spiritualization of the relationship between man and his beast.

As the crazy times continue, we continue this series of optimism and perseverance (or so we think). Today we bring our focus to the unnecessary negativity that people bring to our lives and the lives of others through this fashion of negativity perpetuated by a general dissatisfaction with life, no matter how good things may be going. There are legitimate reasons why people are not alright. Today we don't focus on that. Perhaps we can all stop feeding into the constant complaining and negativity of others and see the bright side of things.
Times are crazy, people are crazy, America is burning... but it ain't so bad. Join us as we talk about it. Get your head out of the mainstream and take a stroll down... less mainstream.
Adrian brought us some guy named Robert Spencer and a close to 2hr video titled: The only good Muslim is a bad muslim - debate with Dr. Peter Kreeft. While the episode is not about that, I thought it important to give the details here. And here is the link to it in case you want to watch it.

Just in time for Halloween (aka all hallows eve), we have an episode that took years to come to fruition. A special edition of the dude|CATHOLIC podcast, featuring long time friend of the show and comic book artist: Mr. Andy "Shaggy" Korty.
Hear as we dive deep into the genre of horror, it's relation to the faith, and hear Adrian lose it completely after hearing the ultimate dad-joke of the season. You're gonna have to go all the way to the end to hear the full clip, because we had to cut him off during the episode. So sit back, relax, and hang out as we talk about everything and anything with Andy. Oh, and Adrian says hell; so be careful if you have littles listening... and you consider this word profanity.

Sometimes, in order to grow; we have to take the path of most resistance. There are instances in which you don't have to and you shouldn't... but we respect you too much intellectually to not make this episode about "what ifs." Instead, we talk about some challenging stuff that might lose us a few listeners, but we're okay with that, so long as we know we are accountable for those we lead and those we chose to walk together with to the gates of heaven.

In these days where social justice warriors abound, people seem to ignore the fact that slavery still exists. Today we talk about child sex-trafficking and the suffering of children. This is a specially difficult topic for us to talk about and one that society and at least the main stream does not want to face. The US is the largest consumer of this vice and we - men need to put an end to it.

Your mission is simple. Go home to Christ and lead as many people as you can to Him. As we release this podcast, we are discovering that one of our California Missions has been burned to the ground in what seems to be a coordinated attack (Florida had a similar attack).
I can't tell you how many times I have re-written this description because the most charitable thing I can come up with right now, involves denting the skulls of the cowards who desecrated these holy places of worship. Instead of going down that path however, join me in keeping my temper and let us pray for our enemies and those who persecute us:
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen
Hail Mary, full of Grace, The Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb; Jesus. Holy Mary mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Glory be to The Father, and to The Son, and to The Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Knowing your worth is knowing you are here to serve, and when you know your priorities; you know who to serve and in what order. It is by serving and laying down one's self that one finds himself fulfilled. For more on this, listen to the newest installment of the dude|CATHOLIC podcast. In today's stand alone episode we feature James and Clara playing outside with Javier, Ramon, and Adrian getting in the way with their conversation in the background. In an episode that almost didn't happen, we talk about stuff that has now become part of the backdrop of our times and culture and how we respond to it.
This episode does not aim to solve problems, but give the perspective of ones who don't matter in the eyes of the hierarchy of the Church (except to the good ones). While we are not going to pope-bash or be militant about our views, we will also not be like most Catholic media, who by and large is not speaking about what practicing Catholics are feeling.

Keep watch and pray that you may not undergo the test. Tests can and will come. The dudes talk about their grandfather not knowing that by the time this podcast would be released he would have already been laid to rest (if you feel awkward reading this, imagine how I feel typing it). Please pray for our family as we go through this time and be of good cheer. God has overcome the world.

Due to the graphic content of this podcast, listener discretion is advised. Not really, we run a clean podcast. But we are talking about porn, so we are giving fair warning to the overly squeamish.
Steve is back to finish talking about stuff that makes people uncomfortable. Yes, the title is clickbait, but it tells you what the conversation is about and it saves you lots of reading in the description. If you or anyone you love wants to break free from one of the most insidious vices that plagues mankind nowadays, get in touch with Steve at https://freedom-coaching.net and be free from bondage.

This podcast has to be one of the hardest ones to edit, not because of any technical difficulties but because it was such a good conversation; I didn't want to cut any of it off. But it was longer than I felt comfortable releasing, and I didn't want to make a series out of it. This week, we gave over-worked Ramon a break and are uploading a conversation with another one of our good friends. George is a youth minister in the diocese of Orange and he runs a successful and not-so average ministry that consists of small groups and little to no "requirements." Sacramentally speaking, it doesn't fit the norm. Another thing that doesn't fit the norm is our family life and how we are going to look back at it when this quarantine time is over.

Good Friday to all. I won't bore you with a long intro here. This episode is about trust. James joins us, Ramon chews gum, Adrian border-line curses, and both dudes drop some wisdom.

So, through the grace of God and an unrelated necessary visit; we had a guest co-host come in with us. An old friend who is better qualified than us to speak about the stuff about the things, joined us as we discuss panic in times of quarantine and the deeper than expected connections to our faith. You are in for a treat in one of our favorite episodes yet, featuring Javier Sandoval. He is a good friend and a holder of a master's degree in theology. So listen up and enjoy the podcast.

We caved and starting talking about COVID-19 and how it relates to our faith life amidst sharing our thoughts on almsgiving and the importance thereof in our Catholic faith, especially as we journey through Lent without the Liturgy in our lives. Stay healthy, take precautions, but DO NOT BE AFRAID. Remember, we have a savior and He will not abandon us no matter how nasty things get.

In this episode we talk about doing without the stuff about the things, how (of course) we can do more, how we are already doing more without even realizing it; but have not offered it up, and a couple of stories, one involving St. Mark Ji Tianxiang who died addicted to opioids and barred from receiving communion because of it. Go look him up. He is still a saint. This is why we're saying... look him up. Anyway...

In this our intro episode to our Lenten series, we talk about the stuff about the lenten things. Primarily that we are not as hard as we think and that penance is something that happens on the inside but it shines through to what we do on the outside. Not as something flashy, but as the natural sign of the supernatural reality that lives within us; namely - Christ Himself.
So keep your soda, chips, fries, fast food, and alcohol; but give God your heart, for that is what He really wants. And pray for us as we pray for you... Ferrum Ferro Acuitur.

He who suffers, remembers. Join us as we talk about the stuff about the things regarding our remembrance of things of the flesh and of the spirit. In this life, the real poverty is not to allow God to work his goodness through our suffering and not to look for the good that might come out of the sometimes unwarranted and unearned sufferings of life.

In this gum-chewing episode recorded outside dude|CATHOLIC manor; the dudes talk about what it means to say that -the soft won't inherit The Kingdom. It's not about being the hardest of the hard, but about being strong in the broken places and strong enough to be gentle. Not gentleness is the new strength, just what we said; strong enough to be gentle.

DISCLAIMER: This episode contains a section where brief graphic warfare is discussed. Listener discretion is advised. Nothing vulgar, but if you listen with your kid(s)... sample the episode before re-listening with little ears.
So, it seems like we took time off, but even though we recorded an episode; life's craziness took over and delayed the delivery of this episode inaugurating the newest series of the dude|CATHOLIC podcast. So, we will release two episodes this week just a couple of days apart from each other. In this episode we talk about the benefits the broke/broken endure as they see better days with a grateful heart.

So a deputy sheriff and a teacher walk into a car, get a burger, drive and hit record on the old recording device. It's been a full few weeks and we wanted to talk after not seeing each other for a while and thought we'd bring you into one of our conversations. We did have to end up cutting certain sections you won't really care to miss, but if you pardon the background noise and the occasional munching noises, you'll feel like you're in the car with us grubbing on some California classics grilled to perfection while sipping on a Lemon-Up.

Adrian expresses his loneliness (in song form) in this wrap-up episode sans-Ramon and wraps up the series titled - Sorry (not sorry) - the antidote to the antidote to toxic masculinity. Our friend Andy made a suggestion and we hopped to it, because that's what we do. You say jump, we say - sure, even if we can't jump that high. Anyway. As we deal with what we've been dealing with we continue to keep each other in prayer and we ask that you continue to reach out and stay united in prayer.

I want to, I'm able to, but I just don't have time... sound familiar? Whether it's taking down the Christmas lights or being more about being a provider than a loving husband and father, being available is just as important or more than being willing and able to do what we are being called to do at any stage in life. Join us as we talk about the stuff about the things in this week's installment of the dude|CATHOLIC Podcast.

The neutering of masculinity is not the antidote to toxic masculinity; the antidote can only be masculinity. In this episode, the dudes talk about one of the three things a man needs to be in order to be the solution to "the solution" or antidote to the so-called "toxic masculinity." It's not that masculinity is toxic, masculinity is redemptive and in a lot of cases is not lived out, today at least - largely because we've created a society that incentivizes a neutered masculinity. But you didn't come here to read about it. Click play and hear about it and give the podcast a 5-star review. Also, connect with us on:
