Thank you for tuning in to The Middle Men Talk Show!! This week, America was able to watch live on television acts of Domestic terrorism on our nation's capitol. A display of white privilege was definitely on display as armed Trump supporters stormed into the White House where there was a lack of law enforcement to keep members of the House and Senate safe. As of today 5, people have lost their life because of this senseless act of homegrown domestic terrorism.

What are your thoughts on the events that has occurred this week? Police were militarized and tanks were deployed on BLM protests across several states, why wasn’t this the procedure during this Trump rally?  With FB, Twitter, and other Social Media app banning and censoring Trump and others, What does censorship mean?  Are Trump's voters, really voting in their interest?  Why do people’s vote not align with their interest?  What’s next for the Republican Party?  Will the next administration be able to get Covid under control? Will you take the vaccine?

What should this upcoming administration do to increase the trust in the American people?

Today on the MiddleMen Talk show we will be discussing "Reel Love", how reality shows and pop culture can have an influence over your relationships.

Is your relationship reality or is it being produced and shaped by pop culture? Has reality TV shows affected our empathy and expectations when it comes to relationships? When it comes to reality TV shows like Love and Marriage Huntsville, Love and Hip Hop, or The Real Housewives, are we entitled to an opinion on the relationships on these shows? Are they shaping our opinions when looking at personal relationships with friends and family? How are these opinions formed? Is there an appropriate way to go about expressing your advice or opinions to your friends about their relationships? Did television shows of the 80s and 90s shape our current way we approach and view relationships? Were the relationships on those shows realistically scripted or scripted using an unrealistic view of reality?

America: A New Beginning?? Now that Joe Biden has been announced President-Elect, people are still awaiting what will be next for America. What are we expecting under this administration as a people? What parts of the Black agenda get met under this administration and are do they owe to them? (Black voters)  Will Medicare for all be pushed into this administration? There has been some talk about Universal Basic Income, will this be something under a Biden Administration we will see more lawmakers speak on? Is America ready for a female President who is a person of color? What would a Harris presidency look like if Biden can not complete his term? What will be the effect on America if Trump runs again in 2024? What will the Democrats have to do to ensure they do not alienate moderate republicans that may vote for them in the next elections? Why do Democrats continue to cater to white fragility? Will we see more states turn from red to blue or vice versus because of the results of this election?  We have seen failed attempts of a coup towards the governor of Michigan, are their others brewing? Will Puerto Rico eventually be allowed to vote in future elections?

Thank You for tuning in to The Middle Men Talk Show. As the election approaches, we are counting down the days to determine what will be the future of America. We have seen more voters turnout for early voting this year as opposed to the 2016 election. With the last presidential debate occurring this past Thursday, who do you feel pulled off what was needed to help their campaign? What policies have the candidates proposed will push this country forward? What policies need to be implemented? This election has caused a divide between whites with different political ideology but will we see a rise in this same political division in the black community? Will black people and others feel safe in America that Trump has created if he wins or loses? Are black Americans suffering from PTSD dealing with the elections and possible potential of future discrimination?

Are our government officials doing enough with passing laws to keep the minority population safe against these internal terrorist organizations?  How does the continued indoctrination of racism affect the growth of future generations?

Ownership Or Equality? With Joe Budden recently announcing that he’s ending his contract with Spotify for his number 1 rated podcast, the internet immediately started buzzing. After a response from Breakfast Club host Charlamagne The God that Joe needs to negotiate better, fans began to take sides. Given Charlamagne The God’s recent announcement of a partnership for a podcast network on iHeart radio, the question now comes up of having a seat at the table vs building your own. Are both aspects correct? Should black people in America be more concerned with building their own table, or getting an equity stake at someone else’s? What’s an acceptable amount of ownership that a creator is willing to part with? With podcasts being larger than ever before, should black podcasters continue a path of independence, or seek network deals?

"We can't have war between Black men and Black Women, because no one can be free if one half of the mind of the people is tied up in conflict. It's going to have to be both of us or none of us."

Dr. John Henrik Clarke

On today's MiddleMen Talk Show, the topic of the day is "Unity between the Black Man and Black  Woman: The time is now!" What standards should we have as black men and women to work as a collective unit? How much value do we put on the relationships we have with others? What are the ways we can strengthen our relationships as people? (Relationships around family members, peers, colleagues, friends, etc.) What can we do to improve the “trust” towards one another ensuring we will do right by each other? (Ex. No backstabbing, actions of jealously, etc.) Should we as black people demand more positive images of the Black unit (Man and Woman) in media? and how can we achieve this? How can we change the perception of Black women feeling unprotected by Black men in today's hostile climate toward Black women?

We all know the statistically black men and women make less than our white counterparts, but how can we ensure the finances we do have really generate wealth? Joint bank accounts, separate, or both? (Before and after married) What steps do we need to take to show the next generation that a relationship between a Black man and Woman is a worth maintaining for a healthy community?

Today on the MiddleMen Talk Show will be discussing the school year of 20/21, High School, and Collegiate. As we get closer to August, there has been much discussion on reopening schools. The CDC has released guidelines for safe school re-entry but was opposed by Trump. Some states have already begun identifying options for school re-entry, whether in school or virtual learning. We all know that education is important, but are we heading in the right direction for opening schools? What approach should schools this fall? (In School, Hybrid, or Virtual) As the number of cases continues to rise with COVID-19, what will the culture of school look like? (Sports, school Dances, graduation). How has COVID affected our children mentally, emotionally, and socially? Why is there such a push politically to reopen schools? Are our youth being used as political pawns? With colleges opening up soon virtually and physically, will this change up where potential students choose to attend college? With Housing & Meals being such an important part of the operating budget of colleges and universities, how will they adjust to such a significant loss in revenue? Will colleges and universities adjust their tuition to reflect students attending virtually? Will student housing become one student per room?

Thanks for tuning in to the Middle Men Talk Show Today.

Historically Black Colleges and Universities are institutions founded before the Civil Rights Act of 1964 serving primarily African American students. They allowed our ancestors, grandparents, parents, and so on the opportunity to attend higher education when most predominantly white institutions did not allow the enrollment of African Americans. Currently, there are over 100 HBCUs today.

In today’s integrated society, is the HBCU still relevant to black culture? With limited federal funding and alumni financial support, can HBCUs compete with predominantly white institutions for research grants and too academic and athletic prospects? How can HBCUs survive in the future, and what impact can a youth social justice movement have on them? What are some ways HBCUs can continue to increase their connectedness with the black community? Will there be an increase in enrollment in HBCUs and also will we see an increase of top athletes attending? How can others who attended PWI’s help support HBCUs?

On the Middle Men Talk Show tonight we will be discussing: Allies or All Lies? There have been times throughout history where racism against people of color could have been stopped. Is this movement of change happening or is it just another moment in history? Is it just a “Moment” for how some white people are coming to support? or is it just generational need to be in vogue? Are they an ally or all lies? Is Corporate America's stance on Black Live matter a true stance? or just a strategy to keep future income flowing. Have the infiltrators of the riots damaged the movement with their senseless acts of domestic terrorism? What type of policies can be put in place it insure change in America? Other nations are protesting the murder of George Flloyd, will these protests enact a change on a global scale for people of color? on a global scale, which nations are truly an ally of African Americans? In America, we still face the weaponizing of the police by some. Where do this Karen and big boss steve mentality stem really from? Is this mentality of superiority a mentality of inferiority? What discussions should we continue to have with our children about these issues?

Thank You for tuning in to the Middle Men Talk Show!! Today’s topic: Black Prosperity - Substance over fluff!

Here are a few of the questions that we will propose tonight: What are some ways we can tackle financial disparities in the African and people of color?  How can we get the proper people elected who support the people?  What are resources we can own to help increase wealth?  Regarding Black ownership, how can we get more resources amongst ourselves? How can we ensure that our money that we are accumulating is recycling back into our community? Is this possible for every state? and are our people willing to participate in this on a grand scale?

Thank You for tuning in to the Middle Men Talk Show!! Today’s topic: Toxic Masculinity.

Some people were praising Boosie for paying to introduce his son to sex, but we’re against D. Wade in allowing his child to choose their gender. One is abuse, but the other is a person’s own reflection of themselves.  So, Why are some people defending Boosie?

Who all are in the Blame for this act?

What is an appropriate age introduce a child to sex?

Would the reaction be the same if it had been a mother getting a male stripper for her daughter?? (Meaning some people supporting it)

What teachings and conversations are you having with your children about sex?

Is teaching a child homosexual lifestyle acceptance different from teaching a child about a hetrosexual life sytle?

Has the introduction to the internet on cell phones made it acceptable for kids to know about sex at an early age now compared to back in the day?

What effects do you think this will have on the mentality of raising boys to become men/girls to become women to respect themselves?

Who has the right to define masculinity?

Thanks for tuning in to the Middle Men Talk Show today!! Activist and journalist Ida B. Wells once wrote that every black family should own a Winchester rifle. Gun ownership among African Americans has been on the rise since the election of Donald Trump, yet seemingly blacks people do not enjoy the same freedoms and protections as their white counterparts. With no end in sight to the negative perceptions, where do black people fit into the gun culture of America? The Second Amendment gives every citizen of the United States the right to bear arms. But does this truly apply to everyone? What are steps one should do to become a gun owner? What type of gun should a first-time buyer purchase? How many guns is too many? Do black people subject themselves to more danger by not open or concealed carrying? Is black gun ownership the same as white gun ownership? Will the rise in gun ownership lead back to the time when black people policed their own neighborhoods? Do we think the right to bear arms and self defense will be met with the same adherence to the law? At what age should we start teaching our children how to use a gun properly? Should black people join the NRA? What are the benefits of people of color joining the NRA?

Sports have given people an outlet to express themselves using their athletic talents. Some have been able to achieve great success by playing on professional levels. But does love come with the money and the fame? Are pro athletes suitors targeting them for love or the security of financial stability? Should black parents tell their sons the type of women they should date if they have the potential to go pro? How would the outlook of the situation change if the roles were reverse? (such as black females athletes being pursued by white males or white males athletes being pursued by black female). Do black athletes have a false sense of privilege once they have the money and success? What typically happens with these type of relationships if an athlete is injured before the big contract happens? Do they stay or leave? and how would you react if this was your child? Does having a man/woman of another nationality or race signify having "made it" into higher society?

Other countries have placed their elections on hold to focus on the coronavirus, should the U.S. do the same? Should our vote be all we give, or should we do more? Examples: Donate, phone bank, send mailers, etc. When will we come up with our own black agenda instead of waiting on politicians and preachers to present one to our community? and what should that agenda look like?  And finally, why don’t we, The African American community, carry the same energy about the presidential elections into mid-term and local office elections?

On today's show we will discuss women who have everything and choose to feel that they do not need a man/spouse in their lives.  They have the perfect job, house, cars, and children without a man/spouse in their life. Does this equal true happiness?

For a "successful female", Is it settling when you get with someone who is below your income, does not have the same educational credentials, or job background as you do?

Is it selfish of the woman who has everything they need to only utlize the man to fulfill her last need of wanting a child?

Are these particular women willing or know how to share their success with a mate and not think that person is trying to live off their success?

Is life more meaningful to have success or love?

Is society pushing black women to keep moving forward without the black male?

Who fault is it that some black men are not viable in a relationship with some black women when those women have everything?

When some black men do not take the opportunity to get a higher level of education, is this why some black women feel they have to over educate themselves to fill in what is lacking by their male counterparts?

Is a man less than a man because he not making more than the women he is with or wants to be with?

This show is inspired from the article "Ways single mothers destroy their sons" http://www.africanamerica.org/topic/ways-single-mothers-destroy-their-sons

The most toxic environment for a boy growing up is a single mother household. Many can say from personal experience that boys don’t get all their needs met in a single parent household. Many of the lessons they learn in that hostile territory growing up make them into lost, confused men with no defined sense of identity. How does a single mother destroy her son? Let us count the ways tonight on the Middlemen Talk Show.

This week we will again be discussing the recent and past negative imagery of African Americans in the Media and what effects it has on the world view of African Americans as well as African American themselves.

In relation to Trayvon Martin as an example, does the media play a detrimental role towards black people even in the situation of wrongful death? With people like Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, leading blacks, and activists, when it come to the social aspect of black america do we need a new approach or new model? Are the leading blacks and activist that typically speak out in the media helping or hurting the situation presented? Are black people distracted by what the media displays themselves as, causing them to emulate what they see? Due to this, have we progressed or digressed?  How can we grasped back the positive images we need to show our children, so they will model this in their future?  What are some solutions to continue positive imagery in Black America?

With the recent deaths of 43 year old Eric Garner Staten Island, New York, 17year Michael Brown in St. Louis, there has been 16 deaths of Blacks at the hands of police officers since the death of Trayvon Martin in 2012. Has police brutality and corruption gone silent to the majority public ear and eyes? What is the medias true job in publicizing these events and have they done a proper job? Has selective prosecution become the norm? Since 911 has the police training camps and programs been tailored to treat all citizens as hostiles? or has the demonizing of people of color made them an easier target? To serve and protect or are they protecting who they serve? Should officers or color stand up against the brutality of the people that look just like them? As a citizen, Do you trust and feel safe with the law enforcement unit in your community? Do communities of color need to form their own defense lines to defend and retaliate against intruders and hired guns?  Have you been a victim of police brutality or racial profiling?

Today on The Middle Men Talk Show, we will be discussing the aspect of role reversal in relationships leading up to reasons why some people may be single.  Role reversal is defined as a circumstance wherein two people adopt the opposite role of their normal or switch normal roles. With that being said, you have men who are not taking on the role of being the man and you have women who are taking on this role. You have some women who have been putting on this role of being the man that when they get with another man and she may feel he is not man enough for her.  Nowadays, you have women who are the players, men are the ones getting played.  When meeting someone both parties have to establish who they are in the relationship. If this does not occur, then you may not get out what you put in!!

How does role reversal impact reasons why someone is single? Where does role reversal stem from that causes a person to be single?  How should a man and a woman establish their role of being a man and a woman? and should we be confined to our genders stereotype?  Is there a double edged sword in a relationship when some women are more masculine and some men are more feminine in that relationship? Is role reversal a taught and learned behavior? Why do some people continue to allow their past hurt determine why they have to switch roles in their future relationships?

The Hunt: The pursue to get to the first date to get to the commitment. In the dating aspect there is a lot to account for. One must pursue potential interest. If the potential shows interest, a possible date can be scheduled. After dating someone, a person begins to think whether or not this could lead to something bigger, such as a higher level of commitment. However, the commitment factor can throw a curve ball in anybodys' plans if they are looking for the same level commitment.

Is it okay for a woman to pursue a man to get a relationship and marriage? Have standards been lowered in searching for someone to obtain a relationship? Is it okay for women to share a man in a committed relationship? Is guys having too options in women a good or bad thing? Being that when a man has so many options in women, is it hard for him to give it all up? When in a relationship with someone and you know they have these options, is it hard to have a commitment? When knowing the person you are in love with do not share the same commitment, should you settle or find a way to help them improve their commitment towards you?

Back over the past century and a half, the Black Community has been fighting for the rights and standing up for all mankind.  We have learned in history of many revered black leaders who have came to the forefront to speak out against the black race being considered not equal to the majority.  With that being said, have we forgotten what our predecessors fought hard for during those years of wanting to have equality?  Are as a people conditioned to bow down and not speak out for what is right? Are we scared to take back our communities and our place of businesses? Why do our black organizations appear to have less of a voice when it comes to the black community? We will also discuss Roland Martin and his suspension from CNN and Cody Smith, a senior at Gainesville High School, who will be the first Valedictorian of the high school in its history.  However, the high school is attempting to have this young man share this accomplishment with one of his white classmates due to the school not wanting to have a black Valedictorian.

There is a difference between raising a son to become a man and raising a son to be boy. A son that is raised to be a man has responsibilities as a child, listens to their parents and any other parental figures, has appropriate guidance, has goals and amibitions, and is very respectful to mankind.  A son that is being raised to be a boy is lazy, disrespectful, uneducated, has no goals or ambitions, does not understand how to treat women, self-absorbed, and is considered what we call a "Man Baby".

Today we will discuss the causes and effects of the "Man Baby".

Self Hatred is the shame resulting from strong dislike of yourself or your actions.  It shapes the way you think, choices you make, and how you live.  Some People are impressionable towards some things in their life that makes them look at themselves as less than others or forming a dislike towards a person due to what they have and/or circumstances. What causes a person to dislike themselves? How does this effect the peers in which a person may encounter? What are the reason some black people hate their own kind, (fighting each other, killing each other with no remorse, not wanting to help others when you are doing good)? What effects does this have on our children when they see this self hatred?  Does self hate of skin tone effect dark and light skinned black people?  How does self hate effect how men and women think about their personal appearances such as the clothes we wear, black men following fashionable trends to impress a woman, some women having the European look and getting larger breasts and butts?  What ways does this self-hate shape the decisions we make towards our relationships we make with people?  What are some of the solutions to help fix and prevent self-hatred continuing to escalate?

Its always good to have something to look at, but what about what you bring to the table?   What makes a black woman sexy? What makes a black woman desirable for her king? What characteristics do men really look for in a wife? Does the 80/20 rule really matter? Do men really want a woman who looks Sexy and can do acrobatics in the bedroom but can not cook and clean?  What will the next generation consist of, will it be a society of sexy unmarried women with a bunch of kids or a society of educated, motherly, supportive wives?

Today on Talk of the Town, The Middle Men will be discussing Hip Hop Crews.  There are a lot of crews comprised of artists that are well-versed in the industry.  Hip Hop Crews date back to when Hip Hop first started with Sugar Hill Gang, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious 5,  Juice Crew, BDP, Tribe Called Quest, NWA, Alcoholiks, Dogg Pound etc.  The Middle Men would like to compare the current hip hop crews to assess whether or not these current current crews have any dominance.  What makes a strong crew? What types of things makes a crew different from others? Why do some label formulate their artists into crews? (Cash Money, Young Money, Maybach Music, Baby Boy Records)  What would make a label want to sign an entire crew instead of one artist? How can crews continue to stick together and work without splitting up? Who has the best crew of artist out right now? Does the label have any control over a hip hop crew?

With the recent shots fired by Kendrick Lamar at some of his peers of the 2011 XXL class, the debate of lyricism in Hip Hop has gone into overtime in the last 48 hrs. In contrast to some of the pioneers of Hip-Hop, todays lyrically able mainstream artists have not really challenge their peers for the throne but label themselves the self proclaim King or best there is in the game. Tonight we will be discussing lyrical warfare, is it hype or needed in Hip-Hop.

Throughout history black people have come from being Kings and Queens to having slaves and becoming slaves to fighting for freedom out of slavery in America. Through it all, the moniker of black has stood, but with a price. From pride to self-hate, wealth to poor, and love to loath, the moniker of black has survived it all, but has it become a burden to some people? Today, The Middle Men will discuss the aspects of how the moniker of black may have become a burden to some.  With being a person of color, what are some hardships one may encounter? With experiencing these hardships, does that taint the perception of how people think and the way they treat others? How hard is it really for a race to get beyond color?  From a Psychological standpoint, how much does this play in a person's way of thinking?  Does being a darker hue equates to being less? Can black businesses survive being only black?  Why does being black automatically bring on the thought of improverishment?

"Crabs In A Bucket" as defined by the urban dictionary is when a single crab is put into a lidless bucket, they surely can and will escape. However, when more than one share a bucket, none can get out. If one crab elevates themself above all, the others will grab this crab and drag'em back down to share the mutual fate of the rest of the group.

Crab bucket syndrome is often used to describe social situations where one person is trying to better themself and others in the community attempt to pull them back down. Also often used in describing the ghettos of America. In terms of local music scenes, this crabs in a bucket syndrome is extremely high. More often than not, a local scene can never break into the national arena because of lack of support in its regional industry. Tonight on Talk of The Town we will discuss the crabs in a bucket mentality, its impact on local music, and how to recognize and separate yourself from the crabs in your local bucket.

A famous line by 50 Cent once said "Go 'head switch your style up. And if they hate then, let them hate, and watch the money pile up." Credibility is one of the few things that fans of music hold on to the most. The feeling that an artist you respect has "sold out" or "switched their style" is one that is a nail in the coffin for that type of fan. Aritsts such as 50 Cent, Ace Hood, Usher, and most famously Ja Rule, have faced this criticism for a good portion of careers. Industry insiders would simply call this reinvention. Tonight on Talk of the Town: Hip Hop needs to grow up! It is said that Hip Hop is a young man's game, but after 40 years in music, it is safe to say that Hip Hop needs to grow up in order to reach the next level. Often classic Hip Hop artists are forgotten or dismissed simply because they are staying true to their brand of the art form. Others look to conform to the more contemporary forms of Hip Hop adopted by a much younger audience. With a few exceptions like Phonte, Rapper Big Pooh, Killer Mike, and most recently T.I.'s latest effort, Hip Hop has become defined as "being in the moment," and not encompassing and embracing those who still wave the flag for it proudly into their middle ages. Tune into Talk of the Town tonight at a special time of 8:30 Eastern to discuss! 718-508-9972

Does this equal true happiness? For a "succesful female", Is it settling when you get with someone who is below your income, does not have the same educational credentials, or job background as you do?

R&B has always held a level of sophistication. Even the classic baby making songs carried a classiness about them that was lacking in other genres. Over the last 10 years, R&B has seen a decline in mainstream popularity. In an effort to re-brand R&B as current and edgy, a new crop of singers have emerged, seemingly distancing themselves from the traditional R&B sounds. More than the sound, the lyrics of these artists have become more blatant and in some instances down right crude. Tonight on Talk of the Town we take a look at the decline of R&B and what means to the next era of black music.

With the recent controversy over the Emmit Till  lyrics by Lil Wayne, many in the Hip Hop community began to discuss whether or not if Hip-Hop needed to regain its substance again. Should artists be more conscious of their lyrics or is it just a matter of art in its total expression? This conversation started in the 80's with groups like the N.W.A and even went to the supreme court with the 2Live Crew. By having the freedom to say what they want many artists took up the mantel of activists thorough lyricism with groups like P.E. ,Paris,Poor Righteous Teacher and countless others becoming a way to change a generation. Now in current times lyrics cut the boundary of filthy to genius. Today on the Talk of the Town we will talk about the Freedom of Speech in Hip-Hop. Let your voice be heard.

Sex for money is as old as human currency, however in the last few years, traveling abroad for sex has become the new eutopia for some men. At a minimum, black men make trips overseas for physical reasons that include sex. However, many have experienced a level of physical and sexual intimacy, a sort of sexual healing, that they see as lacking in many of their current relationships with black women. They also make these trips for cultural reasons. They describe a deep embrace and recognition to a people, a time and a land that they do not get here in the United States and do not see in black women. Most importantly, these men increasingly travel overseas because of a profound sense of identity that they find and create on these trips. So what they ultimately end up paying for is access to an elite male experience, and intercourse with a set of beliefs and ideas about black manhood that they think are denied to them by black women in America. The problem is that during these journeys, sometimes consciously but also unconsciously, black men are led further away from black women--not just physically, but also emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually. Are these trips more for emotional comfort than sexual? Do these trips fill the void that men feel they are missing in the household. Does the racial equality between traveling men in Brazil create a sense of fraternity or acceptance that they cannot achieve in the US? Our society today has become highly influenced by sex and sexuality.  Due to lack of education about sex and sexuality, some of us are uncomfortable talking about sex and sexuality. Some parents, schools, and churches are not making any effort to teach and explain about sex and sexuality because they were not properly taught themselves.  If we as adults were not properly educated about sex, how can we educate others? Why do people in modern society put stigma on those who are virgins?  Why does society today make it seem "Cool" to have premarital sex?  Are parents to blame for our children becoming oversex due to them not teaching them about sex and sexuality? Does not educating ourselves properly about sex increase the chances of a child experimenting with their own sexuality?

Black Life, what is it worth to us? We have those who were murdered, executed, or even brutally beaten and it appears that some do not care or understand the worth of life. We have those such as Troy Davis, Sean Bell, Oscar Grant, Rodney King, Amadou Diallo, Aiyana  Jones, James Anderson, and countless others. Do we value ourselves, our education, improving our communities, and getting a legitimate job? So what does this mean for us as a people when 50 years ago were marching together to protect our race.  Why is it that when it comes to media, a black person is viewed in a negative image? (Ex. In Tyler Perry movies, you have a man dressed as a woman and some people look at it as entertainment and not realizing this is not a positive image of a black man, on the news a black person is always broad-casted or identified first as the convicted, and in music black people are constantly making songs aiming at their own race in a negative viewpoint)  Why do some of us have a "Don't Care" attitude when it comes to learning about something tragic that happened to someone of our own race?  When a black man has an education, some look down on him; when someone is progressing financially, some will steal from him;  because of the color of his shirt or the side of town someone stays on, some will fight or even kill that person; Why is that? Do we realize we have a deficient perception of ourselves may have a self-fulling prophecy on us a people?  Do our race understand the true power of words? Let Your Voice Be Heard!!!!

Lava lamps, Happy Days, mood rings, MASH, and Jimmy Carter’s Playboy interview weren’t the only things to come out of the ’70s. In addition, copyright law was revised by the U.S. government granting artists and songwriters “termination rights.” This law states that 35 years after 1978 the recordings and songs “owned” by record labels or publishers would revert back to the artist or songwriter regardless of if the artist or songwriter was recouped, un-recouped, etc. What does this mean for Major Recording companies? 6pm Eastern/ 5pm Central Join us today as we discuss nutrition in minority communities. Fast-food companies has taught 15% of preschoolers to ask to go to McDonald's every day, and convinced teens it's OK to consume as many as 1,100 calories in a single meal. Minority kids are disproportionately targeted by the ads, with McDonald's and KFC taking the lead in targeting African-American youth with TV advertising, dedicated websites, and banner ads. Such ads feature foods that contain twice as many calories as ads aimed at white children, and African-American children see at least 50% more fast-food ads than their white peers. Over the last decade America has tried to put a spotlight on healthy food choices.  Are minorites being left out of this fight? How can we make sure our children are making healthier food choices? And if we continue down the path of unhealthy living, what does that mean for our future?

As History shows throughout the 20th century, black women were belittled by white women due to having full figured bodies, large lips, dark skin tone, and natural hair.  If a woman possessed these characteristics, they were viewed as unpretty.  But nowadays, you have white women getting butt implants, botox injection in their lips to make them become fuller, tanning their skin to make them look darker.  On the otherhand of that, you have some black women bleaching their skin, wearing blonde hair, and  having coarse hair. What are reasons to why some black women are starting to bleach their skin, wearing blonde hair, and wanting to have coarse hair? Should the independent woman expect to go dutch or pay for everything? If a man's goal for Valentines Day is just to get some, does it make more sense to just get an escort?

A Mandatory Sentence is a controversial court decision setting where a judge's decision is limited by the law. Judges lose control over sentencing and cannot apply discretion given the particular facts of a case. It wont matter whether a drug defendant was a kingpin or low-level participant, if convicted for a crime that falls under a mandatory sentence a long and underserved sentence can be given. Billy Ochoa was sentenced to 326 years to life for 13 counts of welfare fraud totaling $2,100. Weldon Angelos was sentenced to 55 years for possessing a handgun while he sold $350 worth of marijuana to a police informant. Mandatory sentencing has increased the number of minorities in prison. So we must ask are these sentencing tactics keeping our streets safe? Are these laws a new way of enslaving minority youth? Would making drugs legal be a more effective way to end crime? Do all people who commit crimes deserve a second chance?
