On Tuesday, you have Tuesday Morning Takeover at 10am Eastern time with Nick Eden where independent R&B artists are given the chance to let their music be heard by the masses. On Thursday nights, The Middle Men have Talk of The Town which airs at 8pm Eastern. Over recent years, we’ve seen a heavy divestment from advertisers and consumers in Black Media. Generational publications like Ebony & JET Magazine have disappeared from the spotlight. Where do we go from here? Is Black Media relevant in today’s society? How can we put pressure on companies to advertise with Black Media? Black Americans are officially the fastest rising gun owner demographic in the United States. Historically Black Colleges and Universities are institutions founded before the Civil Rights Act of 1964 serving primarily African American students. They allowed our ancestors, grandparents, parents, and so on the opportunity to attend higher education when most predominantly white institutions did not allow the enrollment of African Americans. Currently, there are over 100 HBCUs today.

In today’s integrated society, is the HBCU still relevant to black culture? With limited federal funding and alumni financial support, can HBCUs compete with predominantly white institutions for research grants and too academic and athletic prospects? How can HBCUs survive in the future, and what impact can a youth social justice movement have on them? What are some ways HBCUs can continue to increase their connectedness with the black community? Will there be an increase in enrollment in HBCUs and also will we see an increase of top athletes attending? How can others who attended PWI’s help support HBCUs?

Recently a satirical letter to black artists, demanding that they move out of the way for white artists doing hip hop and R&B, has made its rounds on the internet. While the letter was made in comedic fashion, it has sent shockwaves throughout the music business. The Hunt: The pursue to get to the first date to get to the commitment. In the dating aspect there is a lot to account for. One must pursue potential interest. If the potential shows interest, a possible date can be scheduled. After dating someone, a person begins to think whether or not this could lead to something bigger, such as a higher level of commitment. However, the commitment factor can throw a curve ball in anybodys' plans if they are looking for the same level commitment.

Is it okay for a woman to pursue a man to get a relationship and marriage? Have standards been lowered in searching for someone to obtain a relationship? Is it okay for women to share a man in a committed relationship? Is guys having too options in women a good or bad thing? Being that when a man has so many options in women, is it hard for him to give it all up? When in a relationship with someone and you know they have these options, is it hard to have a commitment? When knowing the person you are in love with do not share the same commitment, should you settle or find a way to help them improve their commitment towards you?

Back over the past century and a half, the Black Community has been fighting for the rights and standing up for all mankind. We have learned in history of many revered black leaders who have came to the forefront to speak out against the black race being considered not equal to the majority. With that being said, have we forgotten what our predecessors fought hard for during those years of wanting to have equality? Are as a people conditioned to bow down and not speak out for what is right? Are we scared to take back our communities and our place of businesses? However, the high school is attempting to have this young man share this accomplishment with one of his white classmates due to the school not wanting to have a black Valedictorian.

( ex: family, friends, experts, etc) and who are people you shouldn't ? Do majority rules in opinions always? What are some tips or ways to learn how to be receptive towards constructive criticism ?

Sex for money is as old as human currency, however in the last few years, traveling abroad for sex has become the new eutopia for some men. At a minimum, black men make trips overseas for physical reasons that include sex. However, many have experienced a level of physical and sexual intimacy, a sort of sexual healing, that they see as lacking in many of their current relationships with black women. They also make these trips for cultural reasons. They describe a deep embrace and recognition to a people, a time and a land that they do not get here in the United States and do not see in black women. Most importantly, these men increasingly travel overseas because of a profound sense of identity that they find and create on these trips. So what they ultimately end up paying for is access to an elite male experience, and intercourse with a set of beliefs and ideas about black manhood that they think are denied to them by black women in America. The problem is that during these journeys, sometimes consciously but also unconsciously, black men are led further away from black women--not just physically, but also emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually.Are these trips more for emotional comfort than sexual? Do these trips fill the void that men feel they are missing in the household. If we as adults were not properly educated about sex, how can we educate others? Why do people in modern society put stigma on those who are virgins? Why does society today make it seem "Cool" to have premarital sex? Are parents to blame for our children becoming oversex due to them not teaching them about sex and sexuality? Does not educating ourselves properly about sex increase the chances of a child experimenting with their own sexuality?

Black Life, what is it worth to us? We have those who were murdered, executed, or even brutally beaten and it appears that some do not care or understand the worth of life. We have those such as Troy Davis, Sean Bell, Oscar Grant, Rodney King, Amadou Diallo, Aiyana Jones, James Anderson, and countless others. Do we value ourselves, our education, improving our communities, and getting a legitimate job? So what does this mean for us as a people when 50 years ago were marching together to protect our race. Why is it that when it comes to media, a black person is viewed in a negative image? (Ex. In Tyler Perry movies, you have a man dressed as a woman and some people look at it as entertainment and not realizing this is not a positive image of a black man, on the news a black person is always broad-casted or identified first as the convicted, and in music black people are constantly making songs aiming at their own race in a negative viewpoint) Why do some of us have a "Don't Care" attitude when it comes to learning about something tragic that happened to someone of our own race? When a black man has an education, some look down on him; when someone is progressing financially, some will steal from him; because of the color of his shirt or the side of town someone stays on, some will fight or even kill that person; Why is that? Minority kids are disproportionately targeted by the ads, with McDonald's and KFC taking the lead in targeting African-American youth with TV advertising, dedicated websites, and banner ads. Such ads feature foods that contain twice as many calories as ads aimed at white children, and African-American children see at least 50% more fast-food ads than their white peers. In todays music industry, the independent artists have the power to become his own force by being his own label. Even though the major labels control the music industry, the music industry stays afloat due to the independent artists. However by keeping the music industry afloat, some of the independent artists lack knowledge on what it takes to operate a legitimate and consistent label. What are the basis of a record label? What are the key positions that are needed in forming a label? Is it necessary to call yourself a C.E.O. and you are an artist, and you DO NOT have anyone working under you? What are the estimate start up cost in starting a label? What is the proper process of making you label legitimate? Can you sign an artist under a simple contract? And lastly what's in a name? (your labels name) why making the right choice in a label name can make or break you.

In past Black males were not perfect but hard working, dedicated, and civilized contributors to their communities. In recent years, these characteristics have not been the case. Young black males today are misguided, mislead, and lost in regards to what it is to be a positive black figure for our society. We the Middle Men have identify certain characteristics that some black males lack for their generation: Individuality, discipline, visions of what of what a real man looks like ,visions of self worth, and drive and ambitions.Have the males who are becoming adult men, lost the sense of becoming family oriented? There have always been rumors of women and men who have slept their way to the top of the music business. Some more apparent than others, but how long can this practice continue in the current climate of the business? When will producers and labels learn that their credibility is worth more than a one night stand? Do we continue to support those who put their talent aside to "open up" for the boss? The trending topic "Gay is the new Black" has been reappearing in the headlines lately since Queen Latifah's character on the tv show "Single Ladies" made this comment. Of course the reference of this phrase is related to the fashion sense of the color black. But does this phrase mean more than it being related to fashion? The Phrase appeared on the cover of "The Advocate" magazine after President Obama was elected comparing the Gay movement to the Civil Right Movement. "Is Being Gay the New Black?" Can the Gay movement be comparable to the Civil Rights Movement? Is the Gay movement a real movement or a fad? Are women homophobic? Welfare assistance has been in existence since after the Great Depression. Before 1977, receipients had to pay a percentage to receive food stamps. Now food stamps are free to receive based on certain guidelines and criteria. People of low income, no income, and even college students are eligible to apply and receive food stamps. When you think of welfare assistance, some feel this is an "temporary" aid for thos of low income, no income, etc. However, there are some families who have been on welfare from generation after generation. So, is Welfare helping us or hurting us? Why do some people take advantage of the welfare system for personal gain such as having more children to receive more benefits, selling left over food stamps for real money etc.? How is the welfare system effecting the thought process of children having children in order to receive benefits? Should the welfare system be re-constructed with a program that aids those in finding a job help them get off of welfare? Should all states follow the model from Florida that now requires all applicants to be drug screened?

On the otherhand of that, you have some black women bleaching their skin, wearing blonde hair, and having coarse hair. What are reasons to why some black women are starting to bleach their skin, wearing blonde hair, and wanting to have coarse hair? Why are some black women scared to go back natural with their looks? Our lovely women have progressed to become highly educated, motivated to accomplishing their dreams in the workforce, and also great mothers. However, some of our women have misconstrued ideas of what defines a "Lady". Why do our some of our women utilize the word "Bitch" as recreation when socializing with their friends? Is television shows like Bad girls Club, The Real Housewives, etc. influencing or are they a reflection of what our women have become? Why do some women have or show a lack of respect for other women, ie. their success, the men they are dating, or their choice of style. Lastly, what really defines a lady?????

Marriage is the union of Man and Woman becoming One under God. But does it remain that way???? In the beginning of the marriage, what are some of the typical expectations before having children? How should the husband and wife support each other to ensure stability in their marriage? A Mandatory Sentence is a controversial court decision setting where a judge's decision is limited by the law. Judges lose control over sentencing and cannot apply discretion given the particular facts of a case. It wont matter whether a drug defendant was a kingpin or low-level participant, if convicted for a crime that falls under a mandatory sentence a long and underserved sentence can be given. Billy Ochoa was sentenced to 326 years to life for 13 counts of welfare fraud totaling $2,100. Weldon Angelos was sentenced to 55 years for possessing a handgun while he sold $350 worth of marijuana to a police informant. Mandatory sentencing has increased the number of minorities in prison. So we must ask are these sentencing tactics keeping our streets safe? Are these laws a new way of enslaving minority youth? Would making drugs legal be a more effective way to end crime? Do all people who commit crimes deserve a second chance?
