This week on Gay’s PSA, I will have Tara Robinson in the air with me. Tara has had first-hand experiences with heart disease. In 2014, over three days, at a reasonably young age, Tara learned that heart disease knows no skin color, no age, and nobody type. It was at this point that she also learned that African-American women die at a higher rate from heart disease than any other race of women or men combined. Through working with the American Heart Association, she discovered some of the proponents of this deadly disease that is significantly affecting communities of color due to inadequate access to healthier food options and struggles to lead active lifestyles. The knowledge that Tara gained lead her to start a non-profit organization, Black Heart Association, where they focus on educating minority women about the disproportionate, adverse effects of this disease on our community in comparison to others. Numerous international, national, and regional media outlets like ABC News, Yahoo News, have documented her near-death experiences.

They shared a twenty-year commitment that inspired Anthony to start The Michael-Anthony Foundation as a way to continue the giving that Michael and Anthony were already engaged in and we’re both so passionate about. The Michael-Anthony Foundation has already given over $300,000 in charitable donations, 2 educational scholarships in Michael’s name and most recently, sponsored 70 first passports and two youth students from an Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School on a service and cultural emersion trip to Ecuador in July 2020. Tomorrow on Gay’s PSA, I will have Tara Robinson in the air with me. Tara has had first-hand experiences with heart disease. In 2014, she was shocked to find herself on a cold operating table, surrounded by strangers telling her everything would be okay. After dying that day, spending six days in recovery (three in ICU), to finally finding out she had a disease that required healthier eating habits, having access to healthy grocery stores everywhere she goes was vital to her survival. Surviving three heart attacks over three days, at a reasonably young age, Tara learned that heart disease knows no skin color, no age, and nobody type. Tomorrow’s show is going to be one that you will not want to miss.

When you find out someone you love is gay, the immediate response is human in nature and therefore, presents an air of disappointment. What will my friends think? What will this mean for him/her? How will he/she have children? What will this mean for his/her walk with God?

When you are a successful woman, many people think that it is impossible for you to reconcile that with submission. But I believe a successful woman of God can see her role clearly.
Having a drink is not a sin…becoming drunk and forgetting about God is the sin.
Money is not the root of all evil…the LOVE of money is the root of all evil.
Similarly, there is nothing wrong with success, ladies…but we can’t let it get us so caught up that we get drunk with power and with the love of money that we forget about God’s assignment for us to be a help-meet to our husbands.

I am so excited about tomorrow’s show!! A little more than 4 years ago, I did a series on Bettering Yourself with focus on being a positive role model (a picture of my guests on that show are in the top left corner). At that time, I had on the air my friend, Actor/Entertainer/Coach Frederick Owens who is an amazing force in the lives of young men and is tireless in his efforts to ensure that they become, not only stellar athletes, but also productive members of society. Joining Coach Fred (4 years ago) was my son, who was then Oak Grove Student Body President/Kappa League President/Varsity Football player/Senior Beau/cancer survivor Kobe Payton. Joining Fred tomorrow will be Gaybriel Payton (same person), a Dean’s List senior at Jackson State University, 2nd term President of the Collegiate 100 Chapter of 100 Black Men and a member of the Delta Delta Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi who has not only survived but who has thrived after his battle with cancer! Frederick and Gaybriel will talk about the transitions, temptations and turmoil that teenage boys and young adults go through in an effort to stay on track and achieve success. This show is going to be so incredibly enlightening and empowering.

It's time for "Let's Talk Politics" with Fred Wilson and Cathy Taylor. On tonight’s show, we will discuss President Trump’s
threat to Iran… are we going to war? We will also talk about Trump’s loss in court in which a judge says he has to turn over his tax returns. What do you think we will discover if/when that happens? Do you think he will turn them over of will they get erased like Clinton’s subpoenaed 30,000 emails? The local election is over, and we’ll share those results with you as well. There is a lot on the plate today so just join in and be a part of the show. See you Monday at 7pm 917 932-1078 WARNING THIS PRESENTATION IS NOT FOR THE EXCUSE MAKER, “YES MAN” OR THE WEAK-MINDED PERSON LISTEN AT YOUR OWN INTELLECTUAL RISK! Tomorrow on Gay’s PSA, I will have Dr. Angela Anderson and Candace Morgan on the air to introduce us to their new podcast and to explain to us their “why?” regarding JUST BE REAL SIS. When they looked at the podcasting landscape, there were only a few that they could identify with directly because the content that was directed to women of color addressed a few key areas: food, fashion, entertainment, trauma, and sex. While these are all topics that have a place in who we are as women of color, it is not the entire picture. Who is speaking for women who have checked the boxes that society says makes you successful, but you are still tested on a regular basis? Who is listening to the women who have heard the word "overqualified" more than their name. So let’s just keep it real, sis! This discussion is going to be nothing short of amazing so please join me for this and other incredibly important and exciting topics each Friday at 4:30 P.M. CST/5:30 P.M. Eastern/2:30 P.M. school districts to decide if teacher can carry weapons in the classroom. Is this the right decision? Will this stop school shootings or lead to more violence? Tensions are high in the Middle East, are we headed for a war? Stocks fell today after China raised tariffs on 60 billions dollars worth of U.S. exports. What does this mean for our booming economy? Of course we will discuss this day in history. Join us for this and much more!! See you Monday at 7pm, 917-932-1078

On tonight’s show we are going to cover a number of breaking news topics. Unemployment numbers have been released and they are the best in almost 49 years. Two years into his presidency, are these numbers thanks to President Trump or are these a holdover from former President Obama. Over 400 former federal prosecutors have penned a letter stating President Trump would have been indicted for obstruction of justice if he was not a sitting president. Is there a double standard? Is the DOJ rule that a sitting president cannot be indicted by the DOJ, backed by the Constitution? A ceasefire between Israel and Gaza militants has been reached after a violent weekend in which over 700 rockets were launched at Israel from the Gaza strip. Israel retaliated of course but what can be done to stop this from happening again? Will there ever be peace in the Middle East? Join us for this and much more!!
